The St. John's University Men's Lacrosse team is set to team up with the HEADstrong Foundation to take part in the 2019 Nick Colleluori Lacrosse Classic, hosted by the Lafayette lacrosse team on October 20th at Fisher Stadium.

Host Lafayette along with Drexel and St. John's will play three exhibition contests with the Redstorm scrimmaging Lafayette & Drexel, all in support of the HEADstrong Foundation and focused on spreading its awareness.

The HEADstrong Foundation is an organization that is concentrated on improving the lives for those affected by cancer. The organization has impacted 16,700 families, raised $15 million in assistance and built two Nick's Houses providing more than 2,555 complimentary nights of lodging annually.

The classic is named after Nicholas Colleluori, a former lacrosse player at Hofstra University who passed away in 2006 from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. This will mark the 13th installment of this event.

"We're excited for the opportunity to play two quality programs this fall," said Head Coach Jason Miller. "It's important for our guys to get used to competing at a high level. At the same time, supporting the HEADstrong Foundation is important and unique to this sport. We're grateful for the chance to accomplish both goals."

Each of the three teams will play two full games, surrounding a special presentation acknowledging each program and honoring local families battling cancer. In addition to the three exhibition games, there will be a fundraising component that will play a vital role in allowing the HEADstrong Foundation to relentlessly serve families affected by cancer each year.
