Just wondering why someone with a child in 7th grade would do this. Do you really think these coaches are going to look at 12 year olds? I'm asking seriously.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Long Island Igloo Elite 80 Camp -
Seems like it would be great competition with training/coaching from the best college coaches. I would not expect recruiting of 7th graders.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Long Island Igloo Elite 80 Camp -
According to the Director this elite 80 serves a couple of purposes. Exposure to These coaches and getting the players to leave an impression on them early. This way they know to look out of the them as they get a year or year in a half older. The second purpose is to actually get coached by some of the top coaches around. The third side benefit is if you live on Long Island your not traveling.

Let's be honest, these coaches will now remember the Igloo name.
These boys, regardless of their club affiliation, will make an awesome impression on these coaches with their skills.
At the end of the camp, they will NOT remember the boys individual name, but they WILL remember the Igloo brand.
Good for Igloo

Good for Igloo is right but I think you are wrong. The coaches WILL remember the stand outs.

who needs the NLF crap? this is the read deal Good for IGLOO
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Long Island Igloo Elite 80 Camp -
Igloo did or doing something right here.
whatever the 'secret sauce' was----It looks like They got it done
As long as the head coaches hold up their end of the deal
All the haters can hate, because they couldn't get this done.
Im sure NCAA rules are being followed. AND
Im sure every eyeball will be watching for someone to screw up.
If this goes off according to Igloo's plan, kudos!
If it falls short, Igloo will take it on the chin.
We shall see on November 6th.

When do you find out if your son gets aceepted to this camp??
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Long Island Igloo Elite 80 Camp -
Go to Igloo's website and register. Some spots were available yesterday. Pay and your in. Looks like a great event.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Long Island Igloo Elite 80 Camp -
I heard spots were extremely limit. Better call the coach and ask. IMHO I know people that are bashing this event because their kids were not selected and positions have closed. Don't hate....the NLF Cronies have all commented that this program is overpriced and all about SWAG and snotty parents no chances to be seen by top level programs. The truth is this guy did what everyone else could do....but chooses not to do because they want you at all 4 events every year. Bye Bye NLF...wake up people its about the kids not director's pockets. Cant wait to see the kids compete.

It's a money grab, yes my kid was invited. A lot of hype!
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Long Island Igloo Elite 80 Camp -
Wait, what showcase do you know of that all these coaches will attend themselves for? This is not about the money, its about the opportunity you have to showcase yourself in front of 13 D1 Top Head Coaches. That is not a misprint; 13 HEAD Coaches. For 6 hours of lacrosse that is a steel... don't hate. just go!
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Long Island Igloo Elite 80 Camp -
What if parents were not allowed to watch at all??? Would the boys have more fun, less pressure?? I wonder what the college coach's would think about this? They would probably love it!
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Long Island Igloo Elite 80 Camp -
Is this the first year Igloo is doing this event?

money grab? how much do you think it costs to get these coaches to come? I'll bet $5k a coach plus all expenses.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Long Island Igloo Elite 80 Camp -
Money grab? This event only cost you $385 to get to meet all the D1 coaches, that comes to about $30 per coach for you

Some may be angry they didn't think of it first! It's a great idea. Def cheaper than driving to Maryland for showcases where you don't see half these coaches!

Too have all of these coaches come up to your kid individually and talk to them. What more could you ask for. The one on one attention your child will get is irreplaceable. It blows blue chip away

Does anyone have the format for the day's activities for this camp?

If it's 6 hours long, that's about $64 per hour and for the coaches that will be attending, this a bargain.

This will be a great experience for the boys!

Format- 2021's get their own time slot for all coaches to watch. 19's, 20's, and 22's are same time slot and coaches will be dispersed. Thanks to the 19's 20's and 22's for subsidizing the 21's. Well played.

So 80 boys in the 1st session and then 240 boys in the 2nd?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Long Island Igloo Elite 80 Camp -
That's GREAT

It's not Elite 80, It's Elite 120. More teams added. What are chances these coaches stick around for whole thing?
