The Bethpage Educational Foundation and the Town of Oyster Bay will host the Battle at Bethpage II on Saturday, April 14th starting at 2:00pm when the 12th-ranked University of Massachusetts meets 17th-ranked Drexel in a men’s lacrosse game.

UMass Coach Greg Cannella from Long Island (Lynbrook) and Coach Brian Voelker from Baltimore will bring their teams to do battle in this scheduled NCAA Men's Lacrosse Contest. Coaches and players from each team will take part in a youth lacrosse clinic at Bethpage High School on Friday, April 13th at 4:00pm.

Tickets will be sold on two Saturdays, March 24th and March 31st, at Bethpage High School from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Also, starting on March 24th, tickets will be available for purchase at local Modell’s Sporting Goods store. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.

UMass/Amherst Takes Bethpage II, 8-6, over Drexel

BETHPAGE, N.Y. - A pair of late fourth quarter scores gave No. 2 UMass a two-goal cushion en route to an 8-6 win over Drexel in the Battle Of Bethpage II. The score at hafltime was 3-3.

Goalie Tim McCormack was named the Minutemen's MVP thanks to 14 saves in the game including four in the fourth. With the win, UMass remains undefeated on the season improving to 11-0 for the first time in program history.

Drexel (5-7, 3-2 CAA) received a pair of goals from Aaron Prosser while Mark Manos made eight saves in goal.

The Dragons outshot UMass 33-to-29 for the game. The Minutemen again controlled the faceoff dot winning 11 of 17 on the day.
