I haven’t seen much tryouts posted. When are teams holding tryouts?

Some are and some aren't and some only certain age groups. Need to contact the organization you are interested in directly

East end elite coach yelling "whoop" everytime opposing team goes to catch the ball is classless. Be better

This must be your first tournament if that is the most classless thing you've seen at one of these

Teams with a ton of holdbacks or teams just loading a younger team blatantly with older kids bothers me more. Albeit out of state teams are the main offenders .

Yes, very good club with great coaches. The older kids are well developed. Call to discuss.

I know common off Long Island but how prevalent are holdbacks or outright teams having older age kids on travel teams on LI?

I know the machine has a few which are the dominant players. That's what happens.

They'll replace top players along the way to stay at the top. That's how they operate. No team chemistry. Look at all the older groups... big and holdbacks.

How can the older kids be well developed, playing less than a total of 20 mins during a 3 game tournament. Kids are often used of of position. Waste of money!

91 looked the best out there.

Stop with the nonsense that 91 looked the best out there. The Shamrox looked below average at best and played in the worst bracket. S2S Grizzlies looked best, Igloo A looked good also. CSH Roar continues to think they are good but who prove they are just a town team. Express Snyder looked very good and got cheated into a tie when the game vs GC was stopped and told no checking allowed, else they’d have gone 3-0

You hit the nail on the head, even when 91 can’t hide in their own weal lollipop tournaments they seem to weasel their way through a tournament in the worst brackets. Then come on here and say they looked great and nobody can beat them, blah, blah, blah
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 08/12/20 03:36 PM
91 Shamrox is a C team. Obviously they would have been decimated by any of the 4 teams in the top bracket- Igloo A, S2s, Legacy and even Roar.

Shamrox were definitely in the wrong bracket..

Express Snyder went 2-1. The better town teams are better than them. GC and certainly Roar. Get a life.

Not sure i would call Shamrox a c team based on the way they ran through the three teams they played.. regardless of how weak the competition were.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 08/12/20 07:30 PM
Yup .....shamrox is not a c team and rage is not a b team. We understand, heard it all before. Probably a good 100 times. And before you say it.....I'll say it for you. Yes , I am very jealous , yes my son didn't make a 91 team and he stinks at lacrosse . Hahaha, see I just spared you from having to write that. You seem to have it all figured out.

No Dad, they really are a C team. It’s okay, at least your boy gets to play instead of watching from the sideline.

I know, i know.. It's very simple to figure three teams in a grade = a, b, & c.. Anything beyond that is mind-boggling..
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 08/12/20 11:31 PM
ROAR is beyond overrated. GC got 3 of their 4 goals right after the game was stopped because “fire marshall complained about the contact” . . . Yet no other game was stopped. Must be the Garden City home field advantage.

Express Snyder play ROAR Saturday in CT, so we shall see who’s a better team . . .

Oh and please stop talking about Shamrox. They beat Rebels Red and ICON, who had kids on those teams that can’t catch and throw on those teams.

The coach left express because his son wasn’t playing

I agree.....most over rated teams I have seen so far in this age group are roar and rage from 91

To your point no team that has WSYL aspirations would build their team with holdbacks. Not a lot of holdbacks on the NY teams at this age anyway since NY state discourages holding kids back. The teams with lots of private school kids in MA, CT, PA and MD tend to be the teams with the most holdbacks.

For the great talent evaluator....s2s didn't look good, nor did igloo, both were sloppy. When a team beats bad teams doesnt make them good. Rage is a b team and shamrox is a c team.

It was mentioned that the bigger clubs that offer A & B teams don't necessarily nurture/care about the B teams. What are your thoughts of this in regards to Eclipse?

Eclipse I believe is from CT. We have played them but have no idea the answer to your question. The craziest system with AB C D is Laxachussets

Call it what you want , rage is a b team ....machine plays up into horrible 2026 b brackets and rage plays horrible a and b teams all courtesy if " my lollipop tournaments " owned by the same corporation that owns 91....get a grip ....everybody knows how it works over there....keep drinking the kool aid while playing bad teams and saying you're the best ....fool

WOW....trouble in 91 kool aid ville , the supposed "A" team rage lost to a town team from long island lol, then barely beat express who from what i heard has about 6 players that can actually play. Wake up people......poorly coached teams and weak tournaments can only take you so far, unfortunately you are exposed when you play teams with better coaching. No number one finger in the air today

I was referring to the Roar/Snyder game. Nothing directed towards 91. "Snob"? You fired the first shot at Roar/CSH. No one was on here waving a flag or touting the team; just simply responded to your over rated comment AFTER the games were played. Hater...

Yes I'm a hater .....i detest that I'm not on a 91 team that claims to be the best thing since sliced bread yet loses to a town team lol and then bashes snyders team but can only beat then by one goal ,typical dense 91 dad response. Everyone is jealous , everyone wants to be you. Hahaha, parhetic

You people need to find a hobby and stop with the bashing of 11 YEAR OLD teams! I hope you are teaching your children to be better human beings then yourselves. This is disgusting. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for this feed as well as your behavior on the sidelines.

Hi, welcome to 91 where we have the best teams on the planet . If anyone else tells you otherwise they are jealous, sour grapes , can't make our teams but wish they could . Now here is your schedule, we play in our own tournaments against horrible teams because we put out 20 tournaments and nobody even decent comes to play. But hey you'll win the tournaments and get a t shirt and you can tell your friends that you won every tournament . It's ok if the kids dont develop playing bad teams , the shirts are worth it . We are amazing .

Right , have fun on the second and third teams. And yes as usual I could write the 91 script " everyone is jealous , everyone wants to be you , kid couldn't make the team , kid must be a horrible lacrosse player " you're a joke . Keep spewing the party lines , you're a great student to the propoganda teachers at 91

We get it you don’t like 91! Would you please let us know what club your son plays for since you seem to have found something that is far better.

Surprised CSH beat Rage but these kids are 11 so anything can happen since there is not a ton of separation on most of these teams. Good for them. I think parents get to wrapped up on a win or loss here or there as if just that win is the be all and end all. Many of these teams would beat each other if they got to play each other more often.

Brutal day for the dream team aka 91 machine ....tried to play some A teams and got stomped badly ......stay in your lane next time and stick to the bad 2026 B teams . Yes, machine is a phenomenal team one of the top 3 in the country for 2027 but please stop pretending that you "play up with A teams" it's not good for the brand and the coaches health , heard they were literally on their knees yelling at the kids in panic mode . Not a good look

How did you hear this?? I’ve seen the tryouts in the past always well staffed.

Lots of jealous parents. They Play 2026 B teams and win you complain. They play the better 2026 A teams and lose...you still complain. Which do you want them to play?

Brought son down to Legacy tryout/eval last night. Only $25 so couldn't hurt.. But I post because I was surprised to see 2 Machine kids there. Trouble in paradise, disgruntled parents, or just a resonably priced lax workout?

The past years some of these tryouts were the best bang for your buck.

Not every kid stays, nor should they. Doesn’t mean trouble, it is just the way things evolve.

Probably a few kids that live out east that aren't getting much playing time on machine .....when the writing is on the wall .....
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 08/18/20 03:15 PM
Could also be a ploy from the parents if those two kids , happens every year . The parents will take their kid to another tryout knowing it will get right back to 91 literally within minutes .....then 91 calls the parents and say " where are you going your spot is secure " . Same stuff different year

What ?

I agree ...who cares . Happens every year . A player is not happy with playing time and toes to show his face at another clubs tryout , gets back to 91 within minutes. 91 then gets them on the phone and says " what's wrong , things will be different don't leave " and the kid stays at 91. Not to single out 91 but it happens with all of them.

No reason to speak in code ..... everyone knows . 91 had a mass exodus. 91 rage lost 7 players and machine lost one all to express . With a few to shore to shore . Sounds like people were fed up playing second fiddle to machine and with questionable coaching decisions.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 08/24/20 03:33 PM
where did all the folks go who constantly write about how great machine and rage are? machine AA. Rage A. 2 best teams in the age group. remember all that?
and from what I have heard machine lost more than 1.

Lol....you are correct. From what I heard coaches and directors were very arrogant , basically daring people to leave . Well...didn't work this year . And yes machine lost more than one . Tried to played 2026 AA teams , didn't work out well .
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 08/24/20 06:05 PM
please stop with AA and A, it goes A,B,C
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 08/24/20 07:41 PM
"Tried to played 2026 AA teams , didn't work out well."

Not a 91 parent, but I don't understand why you would bash a team for playing up? What's it to you? Perhaps they do that so as not to play the 2nd team from their own program thus giving that 2nd team a better chance to win. Definitely not a 91 fan, but that certainly is not a reason for me to bash them. I f coaches think its makes their team better, have at it.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 08/24/20 08:03 PM
Ok. As you wish.....machine tried to play 2026 A teams and got stomped on. Like that better ? That wasnt the point of the post . Point was , they got a little ahead of themselves...can beat bad 2026 B teams but can't handle 2026 A teams .
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 08/24/20 11:04 PM
As you have mentioned you don't know much about 91. The reason for the explanation is that they are very arrogant and boast loudly about their machine team that " plays up ". They play 2026 B teams and boast about playing up , however they haven't come across the A teams ....and I'm sure they won't make that mistake again . You're right , playing up should be good for them , but you would need to hear them to really understand why someone would point that out .

the problem is that you have other 2026 A teams that go into a tourney with the hopes of playing other really good A teams in the 2026 bracket and they get stuck playing a 2027 team. why is it fair for them to have to play a weaker team. In your scene then every A team should just play up. no team should be allow to play up in a tourney that the teams pay to play in.

PAL at that age is done 2021 season, so Sachem team was 1 of the top PAL teams in suffolk are converting a PAL team with some of there players and others outside towns , so it has nothing to do with Sachem just players and the coach.

" In your scene then every A team should just play up. no team should be allow to play up..."

No. At every age group from '19's on down there are probably 2-3 LI teams that are head and shoulders better than their on age competition-usually from the 91 or LIE programs that beat ALL their local competition and 50% of the competition at least a grade up, so I understand them playing up rather than get paired vs. a mediocre on age team and winning 15-2 at a local tournament because for the most part, the MD teams don't come up to LI for tournaments.

It's clearly a money grab ....tryouts are over ...take a break from lacrosse and pick it back up in September instead of going to one of these money grab camps where they advertise "come train with the best and you'll get better " lol. Give me a break . Also....just an FYI...one of the bigger clubs was surprised at the exodus after tryouts so also using these camps as a supplemental tryout without the embarrassement of calling it a supplemental tryout .

From what I'm hearing, it sounds like a bunch of parents got tired of bowing down to the long haired greaseball of 91 and have left. Some going to Express and some going to Legacy or S2S ... what are the total losses?

Heard the same thing ....at least 10 kids (that I know of ) from the beloved machine and rage . Has to be a real blow to the ego of BS. People finally woke up. No more daddy ball and massapequa ball to worry about , good for those who left , good players that will now make other teams better .

Most A teams can prob play up a year and beat most B and C teams. what does that prove. Those teams clearly aren't as skilled and are still learning which is why they are on those teams. I guess the only good thing about them trying to play against 2026 A team is the 2026 teams get a chance to play all there players for a chance.

Some of the smaller clubs definitely do. You have to negotiate just like anything else.

May I rephrase the question?

Will the clubs make money if they blow up their roster sizes past the traditional 21/22 or so?

Does anyone know if there are still some above average kids still not committed ?? I see a few teams are still having tryouts. I know tonight the Hitmen 2027 is still looking. I am trying to get my son on a good team and I am headed to that tryout tonight.

A roster of 25-27 is way too big. Many kids will not see the field ever or very limited. A team that big will have alot of backups.

Can see that and learned several have done same. Wasn't expecting such a jump but not surprised. Only a year commitment. Will see how year plays out.

The Hitmen 2027 team tryout last night was really good. They are in need of a Goalie, but the B team is pretty good. It's going to be a fun season. I was told they will still be holding tryouts for another week or so. They have a small team right now, so I know they are still looking and they are at a good price as well.

Roster size by itself isn't indicative of the full picture. 25 is a good max though but it also depends on the makeup of the roster. You may have 27 kids on the sideline, but what is there participation? Are 3-4 guys there as practice/development players? Are they getting equal time? If every position is fully stacked and balanced than a team of 25 isn't too much and still leaves plenty of PT for everyone AND let's players rest over the course of a 4,5, 6+ game tournament.

Your math isn't very good. 25 on a team means about 10 minutes a game for middies at this age level. Or it means 15 minutes for the good middies and about 1 shift a half or less for the end of the bench. Same goes for attack and D. About 10 minutes of real play time for each player for kid or 20 minutes for the top 3 and about 5 minutes for the last 3. I hardly call that enough PT for everyone at these prices.

As I said, the makeup of that 25 is what matters, not that it tops out at 25. I preface this with this is one IDEAL of a roster. It will not always be this and this is my opinion based on years of building club rosters....

5 Attack (X, crease, lefty and righty, with some combo of those. At least 2 lefties and 2 righties + Crease or X guy)
2 Goalies - whether they split or starter/backup you will always need 2
7 offensive middies. 2 full solid lines, plus 1 fill in (especially true if one of those is also a FO guy high scoring games, he WILL need a break)
3-4 SSDMs (this is a spot for lesser skilled O mids, but still good athletes. Also Ideal for FO Unit work - guys that can get your a GB and get it to your O - If you want to reduce roster size, this is a place to do it, but it will gas your mids if you are only running with 6-7 mids)
1-2 FO guys (flexibility here if you have a mid that also FO but solid, TRUE FOGOs rest your mids
2 LSMs
5 Defensemen

That's about 25, give or take depending on the makeup of talent and skills of your players.

You also have to assume some of the following:
- 10-15% of your roster will be unavailable for one reason or another either full tourney, game-to-game or even in-game. That's 3-4 not available at any given time so you are really at 21
- you are playing 3-5 games a day/weekend at 50 minutes a pop that is plenty of playing time for all.
- you should have 2 solid middie lines that basically split time.
- the attack or defenseman who aren't in should be ready to ball on man-up or man-down. The D especially. Always nice to have fresh legs to go on man down.
- this also gives you maximum matchup flexibility based on opponents/game outcomes.
- this allows at least one player at each position to be a "developmental" player. A guy who isn't quite there yet, but will be soon.
- One MAJOR thing left out: Practice: it is very hard to get everything done in practice when the roster is small to begin with and not everyone is there.

I don't dispute this especially for College teams and most HS teams. However I have varying confidence that the average travel coach can balance a roster like that even if you had those role players filling in those spots.

Right now I think many cannot plus I see teams use a LSM who really is just a defenseman who doesn't run well and they would be better served with a fast athletic middie with a short stick if that is who you plan to use. Also I observe teams with a true fogo but the kid is a liability on offense but stays on the field way too long. So again not being argumentative because you are correct but I am not sure with a select bunch of 11 years olds

my kid plays on an express team w 25+ kids. Yes, it's a calamity at the tournaments. But, you don't pay 3-4K for tournaments only. The training and practices really helped him develop. Would i love to see him play all game every game? Yes, but i had that already when he played on a crappy team. To me, the bigger more important question is - how does he continue to improve? And he's doing so, so there is no complaint (yet).

That could be alright, but how many times does your team practice a week in fall, spring and winter?

With that many on the roster, you can scrimmage like crazy. Kids could really develop if they “played” a lot during practices. Let them run until their tongue falls out

Can see that and learned several have done same. Wasn't expecting such a jump but not surprised. Only a year commitment. Will see how year plays out.

I hardly call that enough PT for everyone at these prices.

my kid plays on an express team w 25+ kids.

THIS is what is often lost in this, particularly at the youth level. You aren't paying to go to tournaments - YES that is a part of the entire cost, but it is about becoming a better PLAYER. If your son or daughter is better in July than he or she was in September, it was money well spent. Even if you lost every game. So many - especially the keyboard warriors on these type of forums - only focus on the best team and how many wins a team has. While that is a measurement, it isn't the only metric.

What is the general tKe on 2Way? Are they still considered second tier? B level team? Or are they able to compete with PT and Eclipse?

I wouldn't say B team, they are better than that, but they aren't yet hanging with PT or Eclipse either

I heard 91 machine lost some significant talent. Can anyone confirm how many and to where? And did Machine pick up new kids from tryouts, or did they pull from the Rage team?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 09/16/20 07:10 PM
That is correct . Rage and machine both lost kids ....and the kids that left machine left willingly . 3 kids left machine I believe and 7 or so eft rage . Most of the rage kids went to express along with one machine kid . Some rage kids went to shore 2 shore too.

Apparently people got fed up with daddy ball and massapequa ball . Weren't too fond of some coaching decisions either . Had enough .
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 09/16/20 07:16 PM
Apparently BS made a lot of phone calls practically begging all of the kids who left to come back .....dads had enough of hearing the same excuses year after year so they decided to go . Good for them . They finally wised up to all of the propoganda being put out at 91. Rage is now a depleted B team .

91 has become an insane daddy ball club. I think machine has 6 daddy coaches. That’s 6 kids who need to be taken care of. Even if they don’t deserve it. The 2026 team has 5 dad coaches. 2028 team 5 dad coaches. 2029 team 8 dad coaches. Your kid could easily get screwed on one of these teams because of so many dad coaches.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 09/17/20 03:13 AM
You have to love paying $3K plus to have a daddy coached team. It stinks... you can't get your kid on the field because daddy coach's kid is the next Paul Rabil, you can't talk smack on the sideline because daddy coach's wife is sitting there, and head coach probably grew up / played with / went to AA with the daddy coach... so you've basically got no leverage.

Happens all the time and will continue to happen . Daddy ball/massapequa ball/big brother is a stud ball .....91 is a joke and eventually the kids and parents wake up and smell.the coffee. This year it was machine and rage with people waking up .
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 09/17/20 05:35 PM
never posted before; likely never will again…. my son didn't leave 91 because of limited playing time, poor direction, parental coaching conflicts. he left because at just 11 he is uber-curious about a lot of things, including other lacrosse clubs, potential success at other positions, etc. his time with the club was positive, largely a result of the love he felt from the coaches over the years-he had great coaches. he adored his teammates & he recognized the quality of instruction he was receiving. 27’s larger than life leader is excellent with the boys and he makes them feel special-a gift many adults sadly lack these days. recent back alley chatter about families colluding to leave 91 en masse is complete nonsense. some of us have other children in the club, which demonstrates our affinity for it. here’s to the continued success of the program, to every other club's success, to the players-together and individually, and to the coaches who sacrifice so much to make our children’s experiences positive. you can’t put a price tag on what these coaches do, regardless of which club they play for.

The biggest difference is 91 spends more time and effort telling you they're the best club than actually being the best club. I took my kids out of there a few years ago and have them at two different clubs. The difference is astounding. My only regret is I didn't stop drinking the CoolAid sooner. It's nice to be a valued customer again.

Spoken like a rationale parent . Good to hear . What is unfortunate though is that you have to come on here to explain yourself to a board full of parents about your decision. You shouldn't need to explain or justify your decision to anyone but yourself and your kid ,no need to explain yourself to the coaches who thought you were colluding . You did what you thought was best for you kid , end of story . Don't let 91 get in your head and make you feel like you need to be all apologetic just in case you want to go back .

The 91 machine team looked pretty legit. They smoke my sons 2026 team. Do they not play everyone?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 09/18/20 03:38 PM
Your son must be on a 2026 B team because that same machine team played 2026 A teams and they got smoked themselves. They usually play in 2026 B brackets. But yes , they are legit and are the best team on long island and one of the top 3 in the country for 2027

That's going to be a tough take to backup after the falls seeing as out most of the top players on both Rage and Machine left for other clubs after the summer.

Yeah, that is nonsense. Machine will still be the top 2027 team and Rage will remain competitive with any LI "a" team. Lots of eager and skilled kids happy to fill the void for the kids that left.

How many 91 Machine players left?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 09/18/20 07:54 PM
Yeah ok rage dad , rage lost their top players and replaced them with B team players so relax. Happy days are over for rage, it is now a depleted B team . No more walking around saying that 91 has 2 A teams .
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 09/18/20 07:56 PM
I believe machine lost 3-4players from what I heard, the person on here saying they were "top players " is wrong ....they were not starters . But what made it interesting is that they chose to leave willingly .
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 09/18/20 08:00 PM
It's funny , i heard the same thing . Rage replaced their top players that left with kids from some bad teams . Teams like the rebels and true blue . You can't have it both ways , blow those bad teams out because they're horrible then say that you got good players to fill in from those teams . Rage is now a B team . They will win B brackets but that's about it .

I didn't play lacrosse growing up but I did play hoops (still do). I remember "making" the equivalent of the C team for the program my parents signed me up for when I was in 6th grade. By 11th grade I was a varsity starter and captain of a team that lost in the state finals. Just saying...
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 09/19/20 10:07 AM
Do you ever ask yourself why 91 is talked about consistently??? Do yourself a favor and ask your coach to play 91 Machine. The outcome of that game should get you to stop talking, but probably not!

Let your son play and enjoy his experience and stop talking about a club that your kid doesn’t even play for...

Good tournament this weekend in jersey . Anybody know why 2027 91 machine isn't playing up into 2026 bracket? Also noticed that their 2026 team isn't going as well as their 2025's. Strange for a tournament that they are running .

Saw machine in 2026 bracket with no team 91 in the 2027 and then all of a sudden a generic Team 91 LI team put into the 2027 and no mention of Machine in the 2026.....I am guessing a combo team with 91/Rage and anyoone else they want. It is ttheir tournament.

It's machine only. I guess they wanted to disguise it as something else so that no one can see they aren't playing up this weekend . They don't mix teams for tournaments

It could be many reasons, not enough teams in the 2027 bracket or too many in the 2026. End of the day machine as of now is playing on age, which seems to be a big topic on this forum. Things like they only play up in the B bracket or played in a 2026 A and got smoked. Losing 6-3 to igloo isn't getting smoked, its a loss but not getting smoked. Yes Express 2026 A got them but who didn't the Express 2026 team beat? It will be interesting to see how they do on age especially with all the chatter how "they lost their best players" or express got so many amazing players from Rage and machine.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 09/23/20 01:00 PM
It was just a curious question . And the schedule is out , not too many in 2026 and definitely enough in 2027. It’s just a curious question as to why machine is playing 2027 when their 2026 team is staying home and 2027 rage is staying home , that’s all. My understanding is that they would allow rage to play in A brackets and machine would play up into 2026. Now that neither the 2026 team or 2027 rage is going I was surprised to see machine in the 2027 bracket.

Machine will dominate.. The other teams - Igloo, Legacy, Express, etc will just hope to keep it competitive.

There is no doubt that machine is the best 2027 team on long island and one if the top in the country while we're at it . That is not the question. The question is why are they choosing to play in 2027 bracket when they walk around proudly announcing that they " play up ". No other 2027 91 team there like rage and no 2026 team there but they're choosing to play 2027? I guess they're not "playing up " anymore .

Does this mean machine will be playing 2027 A brackets for the foreseeable future and rage will have to play in the B brackets ? If so, look for more unhappy customers who will leave rage . Can't blame them .

Yeah, a little odd considering the solid competition in the 2026 age group.

Unfortunately when you aren't humble and instead you're very arrogant it lends itself to criticism. And from what I have heard the machine team coaches and parents are very arrogant . No surprise I guess when they are criticized. Also when you pound your chest and say " we play up , were amazing " and then you choose not to play up anymore it invites questions as to what the reason may be .

Very simple . Machine doesn't want anyone to figure out that they are the team playing in 2027 bracket. They are supposed to be the team that "plays up" so this is a slick way for those who won't be there to not see them in the 2027 bracket . Guess they don't play up anymore

Funny that you mention that . I was looking at the brackets when they came out and I saw them as 91 machine in the 2026 bracket. It was later changed to team 91 LI in the 2027 bracket . Wow, that is sad

Yes, I heard both Rage and Machine will be playing in the 2027 brackets for now on. 6th grade ball, both getting ready for the WSYL next year. Both teams will be going if they qualify.

Hahaha, rage qualifying for the wsyl . That's funny . Keep believing that as you sign up for next season . Half the team left and even before half the team left they weren't qualifying for anything . They are a B team . I love it when the clubs tell the parents "both teams will try to qualify" when one team is clearly far and away better than the second . So then what's the point ? Even in a perfect world if they qualified ( they definitely won't ) what's the end game ? Getting destroyed eventually by your own clubs team that is better than you? You are fools if you buy that garbage , get yourself on a better team then maybe you will qualify for wsyl

Rebels have two teams going to WSYL

True blue and hit men have two teams going to wsyl lol
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 09/25/20 03:05 PM
You guys just don't seem to get it .I have an older kid and when he was in 7th grade the clubs were spewing the same stuff . In my opinion the wsyl is just another tournament at a different location. But if you are into the wsyl please don't believe what these clubs tell you about two teams going etc.....it's garbage . And your own common sense should tell you that if you're on the second team of a club there is only one club capable of winning the wsyl . So don't believe the bs
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 09/25/20 03:31 PM
Good luck with that rage dad . What that means is that rage will be playing B teams in the weaker tournament's. If they plan on having both teams in 2027 you will never play the good A teams because they will put machine up against the better A teams . What a mess
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 09/25/20 05:44 PM
You guys hit a nerve. Machine, I mean Team 91 LI, just changed their schedule for the weekend.
Express to beat all the Rage kids who left.
Legacy
Igloo A
and then United

Gave themselves 4 games
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 09/25/20 06:27 PM
Team 91 LI formerly known as Team 91 machine , hahaha.

Also, they told the rage dad's the same thing last year " stay with us , rage will be treated the same as machine , and qualify for the wsyl " but the smarter ones who have heard it all before were too smart to see it was the same garbage different year and left , that's why they lost half the team

Yup, you got it. Heard it all before . Everyone is jealous of 91, everyone wishes their son could be on 91, everyone else's son stinks at lacrosse , everyone wishes they were your son . Sound about right 91 dad ?

I know most 91 dads are illiterate but if you can happen to read, nobody talks about kids on here it's the coaches and the organization that are arrogant chest pounding fools that we refer to . So get a grip and understand what you're saying before you say it .

I’m not a 91 dad. Not even a dad of a kid in this age group. Just read the forum. You all get excited when they play up and lose. Then they don’t play up and you all whine about that. You can say what you want that your speaking about the coaches or parents. But the kids read this garbage also. Enjoy your sons team and when you play 91 try and enjoy how good a team can be at this age. I will track and hope 91 does well just to read how much it bothers you guys.

They are a phenomenal team . Nobody on here has ever disputed that . Best team on long island by far and one if the beat in the country . What you don't know is that 91 goes around saying they have " 2 A teams ". So out things in context . It's not jealousy it's not detest it's facts . So they only thing they prove when they now play in the 2027 bracket is that they don't have 2 A teams anymore . They have an A and a B ( rage ) and they have parents on rage believing and paying for what they call an A team . That's what the facts are . So after today they have proved that rage will be a B team playing in B brackets and the parents got fooled . That's all we are saying .

That remains to be seen , as mentioned on this thread there was an exodus from rage . Don't see how other A teams can't beat them easily now .

machine is a AA team they proved that today spanking A teams.. Rage is a solid A team and would compete with any of those teams... just saying

Rage is a depleted B team , you can just say whatever you want doesn't make it true lol. Why did rage stay home today ? Oh that's right because machine was playing the A teams .

The only thing that Rage lost were a bunch of toxic sideline parents who couldn’t accept that their kids don’t belong on Machine- good luck chasing the “AA” dream....the rest of us are happy with our “B” team

Good one. Spot on. Lmao. Dead end and still in tremendous student loan debt!!

FWIW. "Tip my hat" to the Machine. Poles were tremendous and the offense ran around like a swarm of bees around the goal. I was disgruntled but Well done. Teams should thrive to be as disciplined in their play. I know I want mine to be at least closer to that.

According to USCL the initial ones were for 2027 were supposed to come out after the summer but are delayed until after the fall. Too few teams played too few games to make a bona fide ranking.

He uses RPI as a metric and you need a minimum number of games for you, your opponents and THEIR opponents for it to work correctly.

those rankings are a joke. you have to report wins/losses. I have looked at that site in the past and saw teams missing wins/losses and it seemed obvious that losses were not reported therefore inflating some teams rank

They use what's on Tourney Machine or if the tournament posted scores somehow otherwise - if that's available.
I agree with you that some teams might not self-report, but to call it a joke is a bit much.

You do not report wins or losses, but you can contact them if you have missing games. Many tournaments are not included if it is all low level teams and the scores are taken from tourney machine, tournament organizers. This year the allowed organized play day submissions, but only played as a real game with standard rules, officials, etc. No ranking system is perfect (and totally unnecessary prior to high school), but it’s a fun thing to discuss.

Not sure why anyone would be so intrigued by a 2027 ranking especially on long island. 91 Machine is the best team on long island and everyone else is a far distant level . If there was ever a year to not need to look at a ranking it would be 2027. It's machine and everyone else way way behind .

The fact the rankings has not come out yet due to teams having not yet played enough games pretty much makes this argument laughable. Machine is good, maybe one of the best at the '27 level - but they haven't played everyone yet, they haven't played enough games to say in either direction whether they are the best. Let's cool off (I know, I know) and wait until the actual rankings come out and then you can scream all you want about how the rankings stink.

It is still fun to be ranked even at 11 years old, especially if your team is in the mix. Rankings far from perfect and don't mean a whole lot, but fun nonetheless.

What you meant to say is " it is fun as a parent to live through your kid and talk to your family/friends about the ranking ". Why don't you just put an order in for a banner you can hang in massapequa once the ranking is out. That's the way they like to do it over at 91 so just get it done . Just put #1 up there for your team no one will know the difference . Put it on his college resume too , " #1 in 6th grade ". Lol

Just curious machine dads.....why does machine now enter tournaments just as " team 91" and not "2027 machine ". Just curious as this will be the second tournament we will be in where they are calling themselves just " team 91". And 91 rage is nowhere to be found if they are even a team anymore.

Anyone that asks a question is a stalker now ? Typical 91 non answer. The question was posted just because I saw a team named just " team 91" when clearly all of the teams have names . Simple question. Nobody is stalking you or team 91, get a grip . And no I don't want to be you and no I am not jealous of you . So go back to 91 and go stroke the ponytail you sad 91 dad.

Agreed....the guy asked a simple question. Two teams in 2026 one with no name . I would think that's a fair question.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 10/07/20 06:33 PM
Done be surprised that's a typical 91 dad response on here . They don't answer questions. Their responses are always the same . Either you're a stalker , you're jealous , you're kid stinks at lacrosse etc......don't even bother asking anything about 91. All you'll get in response is trash as expected from a brainless piece of trash 91 dad.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 10/07/20 06:43 PM
Don't expect a straight answer but it's pretty simple...the team with no name is 2027 machine . They did the same thing in a tournament recently where they played in 2026 bracket but just went in as "team 91". No team in the 2027 bracket . The parents on the second team should get their money back instead of watching 91 take care of the first team while they patiently wait to play in a tournament.

I heard there are some adult contunuing education classes for 91 dads at their Indoor facility tonight . Lesson #1 -how not to be trash . Lesson #2-learn how to read.

I’ve said this before on other threads. If you are a fringe A/B player. You are wasting your time on the 91 b team. It is true that the club only cares about its top team. Then add 6 dad coaches on the team and your chances of getting pulled up are slim (no matter how well you play ). Then those 6 dad coaches have good friends they have to take care of also. You get the point. The B teams will always have a lot of turnover (rage lost 6-7 players this year ). You are better off trying to move to a different club.

There are 27’s out there even on rage , igloo , legacy and couple towns that can be on machine any day . But that team is locked down with the kids from
Massapequa , loud mouth islip/sachem football spitting tobacco Loud mouth daddy coach dad and the other 5 .

You all have a scary obsession with this team. Get over it, they are better then your sons team and they want to play even competition. How about this..... maybe they just go in as Team 91 so all the other 26 clubs don't call the tournament and say they don't want to play them. It's bad for business when a younger team beats or plays you close.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 10/08/20 11:44 AM
Not even close machine dad . You stepped up and got beat down badly at the end if the summer . But nice try . Up until this summer you were in 2026 B brackets in your 91 controlled tournaments and you played in 2027 when you played out of state teams . So relax with the scared talk , nobody in the 2026 bracket is afraid of you . It's purely a business decision ( a bad one ) because your corporate parent doesn't want to lax of your own 2026 team and also doesn't want it to be known publicly when you get beat badly by a 2026 A team . Go back to massapequa and profess your love for your coach/director. Oh and by the way when you learn how to read you'll maybe see that everyone on here has always describedacbjne as one of the top 2027 teams in the country so no one is jealous kits telling it like it is

No parent from a 26 wants their boy to lose to a 27. That’s a fact. And this tournament director seems to agree to this strategy even if it is not a MLT event. Machine gets to play up and the 26 team can relax when they go 2-1.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 10/08/20 02:38 PM
"team 91" formerly known as " team 91 2027 machine"

This is true. From what I heard the 2026 B teams were pissed off about paying 1500 to enter their team and then get beat up by 2027 machine team. If your a 2026 B team it’s not great for morale to get beaten by a 2027 team
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 10/08/20 11:18 PM
Then the 2026 teams should get better. Plain and simple.

Stop crying, mind your business, and worry about your own kid.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 10/08/20 11:34 PM
Wrong . They're aren't playing B teams but nice try anyway . Machine has always entered tournaments as " team 91 machine 2027". Has never been an issue before . So get off your high horse . Clearly there is some animosity brewing over at 91 between their own teams not with other teams hence the name change . Unless they dony want to be noticed when they lose to the A teams . Either way it's a strange move not going in with your team name .

They’re playing in the A bracket on Monday. Good for them. They probably won’t win, but playing better competition will make them better.

You’re right , wining is fun especially against an older team . But that wasn’t in question. The question was why haven’t they used their team name in the last few tournaments they were in. That all. Fair question but of course the 91 dads/ minions blow everything out of proportion in their defense of their coaches/directors . Just relax. Next time I guess everyone should think twice before asking a simple question when it involves 91. Very angry and defensive dads over there .

Ahhh there it is. The overplayed comment assuming just because you are very involved (albeit maybe too involved) with your kids lax that you have never accomplished anything athletically or not currently achieving the same. Wish this site wasn't an anonymous CF.

That’s funny that you say someone probably never picked up a stick is ruining their kid . How about the marble mouth coach who has the chain smokers raspy voice who yells at his son ( one of the best youth lacrosse players on Long Island ) who plays on machine ? The kid is in tears and bites his fingernails because his dad yells at him so much yet you’re telling other parents that they’re non athletic and ruining their kids . Bet you don’t say that to him and yes the coach played D1 lacrosse but hey I guess the moms/dads driving the kids to practices are the ones ruining the kids not the coaches who yell like crazy lunatics on machine . Yup, got it .

Agreed. As soon as someone on here asks a question about 91 all of the insults fly. Kind of like the mainstream media . Deflect and protect our own lol then hurl the insults . That what you get when you combine trash and brainless dads . I think we have all heard it enough now on here that you could basically write the script . So please , don’t ask any questions about 91. We are all jealous, we never played a sport , our kid stinks at everything, we are living through the kid , we are ruining the kid etc etc.......i am now going to lower myself to being on their level......I heard all of the 91 dads are all buying the same number 91 jersey and wearing a wig ponytail for Halloween. Sad .

I laugh that suddenly because someone is a Dad their credibility as a coach goes out the window. There are plenty of Dad's that are able to control their biases and in fact are likely harsher on their own child to avoid that perception and do have great experience, passion and have stayed in touch with the game and are not dinosaurs... Certainly some counter examples to this but sacrifices of coaching are large as is the bullseye on their backs. Thanks coaches.

I never did understand why being a dad of a player on the team automatically equates with lack of experience and knowledge. Even if that were true - so what? He is taking the time to coach the team, practice plan, set up fields get there early, stay late all so his sone and 2 dozen others have a chance to play.

That's a particularly harsh view of the world. Even for a long islander.

You guys really need to leave how to read . There was someone on here saying that the dads speaking on here probably never played a sport in their life and ruin it for the kids . What was posted out was that there are dads who have played sports at the D1 level who are even worse then the dads who haven't played any sports . It has been seen first hand , plenty of dads locally who played D1 lacrosse who are the loudest screamers and make their kids cry . Not sure where anyone said that if a dad is a coach he loses credibility.

How much 91 machine tuition Versus Rage tuition ? Same.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 10/13/20 01:30 PM
Yes , machine and rage same tuition. And before your get to your point I will say it for you because I know the deal there .....machine gets way more practices and games/tournaments than rage . Nobody will deny that and if you do you're a fool .
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2027-6th Grade Fall 2020/Summer 2021 - 10/13/20 01:35 PM
It's the biggest joke that rage parents/players would actually stay there when they see how they are treated differently than machine . Machine has already played this fall several times . Rage is still waiting to play . People want to talk about playing time , well you're not getting any if you're on rage . I heard that even express teams have played games or tournaments since the middle of September.

Fact: Some B team clubs are practicing/scrimmaging 3x per week to get stick skills and IQ up to par.

I think the point the person is making is that there is a considerable difference in the treatment if machine and rage and therefore perhaps there should be a tuition difference/reduction for rage as they don't get half the practices or games that machine does

You can say that about every club with regards to A vs B.

They detest to admit it and I will be called a 91 dad, which I’m not...but it’s envy. All grade level boards are the same. Rather bash another club then talk about good things with their sons team.

Igloo B is a sham. They have too many kids and therefore very limited time to develop on the field.

There is no 2027 FLG team.

Igloo B is a sham. They have too many kids and therefore very limited time to develop on the field.

How many is too many ?

I think for a youth team anything more than 24 is a money grab. I know a bunch of teams 26+ this year....so be it. If it doesn't work out we find a team with better numbers for the $$$ . Dead end sport anyway.

Express B is 20-22 kids, there is also Express C and they have been training together. Annoying that they have been training together, but number of players on each team is very reasonable. Coach C did the right thing by not making it 2 teams of 30 each, but 3 teams of 60-65 in total

60 kids is a lot to determine who is A, B, C caliber at 6th grade. Smells like a total political money grab. I remember the old Badger coach used to hit up guest player parents for cash in the parking lot. Have times changed at all?

Fact said the same before . Dead end sport for a 12 month sport, practices and tournaments for what ?? And the price tag . All for kool aid drinking parents thinking 12.6 full ncaa scholarships might be there kid with a 40 + man college roster. Enjoy the times now !! Its not that important.

You're all on here mansplaining. Everyone has choices so make a choice and go with it but pointing out roster size ,tuition cost etc....is a waste if time . We all know this stuff already . If you're not happy or disagree with things then make a choice and stick with it .

Just saw a post on the Gram that Madlax DMV is putting together WSYL teams for this summer. Could be very tough if they do it right. Will give the LI teams a run. The hold back on age issue will be settled. Not going to be a walk in the park for the LI teams.

S2S played legacy over the summer and won definitively. Has Legacy significantly upgraded their team since then?

No. Not the 2020-21 team.

A few more losses to long island teams and rage won't play another A team again . They will be stuck in the B brackets .

What a shame , they really screwed up that rage team , they used to handle all the long island teams easily . Now they're struggling

so..... Shamrox is a C team, Rage is B/C, and Machine is the best. A ton of kids are going to leave Rage and Shamrox next year when there are other club tryouts.

Why would a Rage or Shamrox player leave? Legacy would be the only option. I'd rate Legacy a B team. S2S B. Express and Igloo are CD teams.

Because their will always be high turnover on B teams of big clubs. That is why rage lost 7 players. The very good players on the b team who realize they won’t be brought up, eventually leave. They go to other big clubs A teams or go to a smaller clubs top team. This cycle continues over and and over again. Exactly the reason why if you are a fringe A/B player, staying on a B team of a bigger club is a waste of time.

You obviously don’t know what you’re talking about
How is s2s a B team when they just beat rage . You make no sense. And express is a B team? Right. They took half of rages team and a kid from machine and they’re a B team. Keep dreaming . Rage is awful , poor coaching has led to and exodus and by this time next there will be no rage team left

R u s h and Legacy are close by. You'd need to contact the clubs to see if there are any openings. Tryouts came and went a few months ago. Good luck!

Shoulda , coulda, woulda, r u serious ? You rage dad's have every excuse in the book . It was too early , we didn't play our best, it was too bright outside , the field was green . We beat you easily . Fact is a bunch of kids left your team and it isn't very good anymore . Rage used to have no problem beating long island A teams , those days are over . Fix the problem , from what I have heard it's the coaching , one in particular that nobody likes and thus the kids/parents leaving the team . They had enough of the young guy , whatever his name is . Apparently he plays favorites/trains some kids on the side for money instead of playing the beat kids based on merit . Lose the guy and problem solved .

No nothing about rage but do they have as many coaches as Machine ? Do they practice together?

No they don't practice together. Never have . To try to not get some kids to leave they allow them to practice with machine once in a while but that's about it . False hope .

Sorry if i'm late asking this question or it's been asked before but did express Haugen take about 7 players from 91 Rage? I just heard this today and I would be surprised if so many kids/parents left one team at the same time?

they do play together often.. and also s2s beat rage easily 6 to 3 not a blow out and than got spanked by 2way.. than rage spanked 2way so yea come again 😘😘

They DO NOT play or practice together . Stop your lying . The directors and coaches tell everyone that to keep them around . Never happens . And you’re talking about scores after you lost to s2s. Bottom line is rage used to be able to put s2s away easily now they can not . Everyone knows half the team left for express and s2s. Team isn’t good . You’re just pissed because you got stuck there .

And to the poster above , you heard correct . 7 kids willingly left rage for express and s2s as well as a few from machine that also willingly left . They were all tired of the 91 politics/ daddy ball and the horrible coach who trains kids on the side for money and then favors those same kids for playing time .

But but but ....if they played s2s later in the day and it wasnt as bright they would have beat them, but but but .....it was too early . Take a loss like a man . We beat you easily, the score didn’t reflect how dominant we were .

As far as kids being mentioned on here , no one should be surprised when it comes to 91 dads. They are trash and will stop at nothing even if it means naming kids or pointing out kida. Ridiculous

Wow. It's guess it's really true what 'they' say about Long Island. You people are f-ing crazy. Have you ever seen an Eclipse parent on here ranting or disparaging kids and parents from other programs?? They'd have more of a right to talk smack than just about any parent from any LI program. That said, these kids are 11. Half of them haven't even started growing yet and most of the ones who have are awkward because their feet grew 3 sizes in 6 months and they're tripping over themselves. There are definitely a lot of very talented players & athletes out there, but who knows what these kids will be into by the time they reach high school? My best friend growing up was a baseball stud from t-ball age and was recruited to the minors out of HS. He ended up playing hockey in college & then the NHL like his brother. I picked up a lacrosse stick for the first time in my life as a freshman in HS and ended up playing 4 years of D1 lax. Things change and your kid might not even still enjoy lax by the time he graduates from middle school. Enjoy watching your kids play a fun sport and learn the value of teamwork and hard effort. Push them to improve their stick skills & IQ about half as hard as you push them to get good grades in school and you've probably found the right balance.

Agreed. Eclipse patent with their pastel short are nuts and LI parents are also. As long as your team is on age, puberty has a funny way of doing things. Those "lax stars" at 11 may be old news at 14.

That because the Machine is a machine. We are dominating the grade. No competition for us.

In 7 years when my kid graduates high school, I’ll be able to tell my friends my son got a 6400 dollar scholarship for lax. It’s worth being an absolute lunatic for 10 years.

Truth. Even if your kid is a stud. You pay 50-60k conservatively with all tuitions traveling expenses over 10 years to get a average 15k for 4 years. Great investment to get nuts and pound your chest. Enjoy the "ride" and have fun making memories because that is all it is good for

Well maybe you have history with the team??

Players probably will move next season. Won't argue that. Always does.

"Daddy Coaching"?? The head coach and defensive head are young with no kids on team. The 2 dads have been the glue of the team for a few years. One is a goalie who is good and plays 50% with the other goalie. The other is a middie/attack who is actually not getting much playing time.

Team has challenges in many aspects but that is not one of them.

I heard the daddy coaches on Gators run the show, push around the "young" paid coaches and there is parent drama on top of it or caused by it.

General rule of thumb: if you have to type "I heard...." Just stop right there and do not click send. NO ONE is going to take seriously anything that comes after that - especially on an anonymous board about 11year olds.

Hahaha...classic 91 dad. Describes the team as “we”. Yeah , you’re a great cheerleader standing there with your red cup and 91 shirt . That’s about it . You are not your son so stop living through your son and saying “we”.

Machine actually hasn't been dominating lately as they haven't been playing lol...along with all 91 teams . What a weak turnout for all 91 teams this fall . Other teams found a way to keep playing with some playing literally every weekend . 91s corporate parent (dynamic ) doesn't want to pay for their teams to go play in other tournaments so instead they haven't played much at all . What a joke , get a refund .
