Great point and topic. My question becomes what do you get with the program and cost. # of tournaments, # of practices, # of coaches, # of players on the roster, etc? So for $3k what should you expect? How many kids are too many on a team?

Hearing all the top igloo players went to either Taz or Wolfpack. Both teams will benefit nicely. But what happened to Igloo? That was a good team. There can’t be anything left. A very good thing for Taz, who had a lot of holes to fill. Any go to Express, or anywhere else?

Yes, actual good dialogue is what we All want. Instead of encouraging people to register why don't you moderate the forum like you should

1) Delete comments that are inappropriate or bring no value to the thread

Exactly right. Botc has been down this road multiple times in the past couple of years. When this site is not anonymous, not one person posts. Nobody. That’s obviously not going to work. Botc claims to be “Fully Moderated” yet I’ve been here for years and have never witnessed any kind of “fully moderated”. It’s simple. Delete all dumb posts that bring no value to the site. Why would you thing that? Those are valid points that every parent should be asking. Things like including helmets and gloves, or even uniforms make a difference by several dollars.

Taz is already a winner. With one of the best Coaches for the future. You keep going for the shirt. Learn what it is all about.

all these clubs are money grabbers that could less about any of these kids. They want to win for their OWN benefit. They will rope you into more training for extra money. Then if your kid is successful they will take all the credit. How about the majority of kids that don't play in college? All those year of training and money....I guess that all didn't pay off. Question. Who the heck is US Club Lax . People have all of a sudden started promoting their rankings. Has anyone looked. They are for the most part totally flawed. Perhaps the top 2 2024 teams are on point but everything below is highly questionable. The domain was only registered in 2017. I remember them trying to get follows on Instagram last year by following and unfollowing kids.

Does anyone have the scoop on who controls this site? It's almost impossible to find out where these ranking are coming from.

Absolutely not. If you are familiar with Taz, then you know that they have some top talent on that team. Last year their problem was they just didn’t have enough, due to the kids jumping ship and going to Wolfpack. Their nucleous was very good, but they had some big holes. Sounds like they have plugged at least some of those holes. Time will tell, how many. Regardless, Taz will most definitely be better than last year, and last year for the most part they did quite well, all things considered.

Express took a few igloo backups and B team kids.

Sounds like Express will crack the big 4-0 on the roster this year. That Chan is one smart hombre.

Should be interesting if any of the LI kids are reclassing from 23 to 24 this yr

The coaching carousel of all 2024 teams, to be sure. Talking about “best coaches for the future” is a laughable statement, based on Taz’s history in this area. And with the exception of the Keenan years, the results from the coaching is open to scrutiny.

Sounds like you take exception to the rankings. Not a 91 parent, but hard to make an argument for 91 not being the number one ranked team, if we are being honest. Amazing what they have accomplished in a very short period of time.

I don't have a problem with 91 being on top - but as you go down the list it becomes very sketchy. How did this site all of a sudden become the go to site for for ranking club teams. It was just started a little over a year ago and was able to get traction on Instagram using the Follow Unfollow technique used by many wannabe social media people. If you are going to do a comprehensive ranking system at least get your systems right. Getting the top 5 is easy. Anyone can tell you the top five teams. It's the rest of the field that deserves real attention. Has anyone looked at these ranking. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Then we're going to guess your son's team and your biases (which will be your son's team, your friends' teams, your wife's boyfriend's son's team.. in that order). Agree it is young and shady that it is owned by 91 but they are the only ones out there using Tourney Machine data to determine rankings. Unfortunately it looks like their data set is not complete and their algorithm needs some work but it is better this year than last.

they are not accurate at all. They didnt even use the 2024 Nationals in Maryland tourney for ranking purposes. No telling what tournaments they used and if teams even played in the ones they used. Lot of teams who beat a team are 20 spots below that team that is just ridiculous. Top 2 teams correct but after that gets bizarre.

91 Long Island is probably the top program overall. Hard to argue that if you're looking at 2020-2025. However, they are also the shadiest and biggest bunch of money grabbers. So by having this site affiliated with them, which it is, it makes the whole thing suspect. Even if the guy running it is the most honest guy in the world there is a conflict of interest that is plain as day.

The club is a top tier club in all respects and I’m not just talking about winning T-shirt’s. How many teams do you know with no holdbacks? Or how many WSYL teams went into that with 100% their own kids? The answer to both questions is two. The 2024 91 Wolfpack and the 2023 91 Bandits. You think that’s shady?? That’s the exact opposite of shady. For those two grades, 91 is the least shady of likely all teams. And, it’s by far the most professional run organization that I am aware of, and I’m aware. It’s also one of the most expensive teams out there, no question about it. But you get what you pay for. At this point, you sound like just another mindless jealous hater.

Bandits just took 3 reclassed 2022s so I guess you don't know as much as you think. As for a professionally run organization, that's a joke. Their office staff can take days to get back to you if they even do at all. If by professional you mean focused mostly on profits at the expense of anything else, you're spot on. What happened to the Igloo Windchill team and the program as a whole? Rumor is that Windchill is built with B-level talent and Frostbite are mostly 1st time travel players. Any truth to this?

The US Club Lax rankings are flawed, for sure...as someone else pointed out, they don't have every tournament played in their ranking system and the algorithm needs to be tweaked, but I commend the effort and the rankings are as good as we've got (really all we've got, actually - the Nissan/IL 13U rankings only rank teams who play in WSYL qualifiers)

I will say that they are relatively transparent about the shortcomings of their system. When they posted the final top 100 on Instagram, they posted 4 slides which explained the rankings - one on the RPI calculation (Winning Percentage, Opponents Winning Percentage , Opponents-Opponents Winning Percentage and Goal Differential up to 8); one on Strenght of Schedule calculation (OWP and OOWP); a Head to Head disclaimer (when an unranked opponent beats a ranked opponent in any sport, that unranked opponent doesn't automatically go ahead of the ranked opponent); and one about a team's Record (winning percentage) in relation to schedule strength.

It appears to me that Strength of Schedule is much more important than actually winning games in their algorithm, though - and that is a major flaw. There is a team in the 2024 top 60 that went 0-9 in events tracked by USCL this summer with a -87 goal differential. I saw this team play this summer, and they wouldn't beat the 91 LI 2024 B team, but because all of their lopsided losses were against good teams, they are ranked. At some point, they've got to make results matter more if they rankings are going to be taken as a serious barometer of relative strength.

My son plays for a team which has played Hawks, True National, Crabs, Thunder LB3, Sweetlax FL, Edge, Big 4 HHH, API Diamondbacks, Carolina Miners, West Coast Starz, Laxachusetts, Leading Edge and a number of other "top 100" 2024 teams in the last calendar year (along with the Team 91 LI 2024 B team), and I will say that when you get outside of the top 20, or so, there isn't much separating the number 21 team from the number 70 team...for the most part. My son's team has taken lumps from teams barely in the top 50 and handled a top 25 team...

If you care about the rankings at all, you have to take them for what they are...a somewhat flawed measure of approximate relative strength...nothing more.

For the 2024's, I look at them in tiers...

the top 25 teams are all strong programs that can compete with any team on any weekend and will likely thump anyone outside of the top 25 with some regularity (you could probably make an argument that the top 8 to 10 is a separate tier on its own) - all of these teams are legit AA caliber teams

26 through 75 are all really strong teams that are likely to play good, competitive games against each other, will occasionally knock off a top 25 team, but more often will get beat handily by those teams...this tier is a mix of low AA caliber teams and high A caliber teams

76 - 100 are teams that are good, solid regional programs that will occasionally play a competitive game against a top 75 team, but really only make the rankings because they play in some high-level events where they get a SOS boost for this ranking system

Last thing...the team that went 0-9 this summer posted their USCL rankings to their Instagram page as a way to puff up their program...it took everything I had in my power not to respond and say "but your team didn't win a single game all summer"

Its crazy to hear what these clubs are charging per year per person. Even if it is an A B or C team. 3700 or so and only going up. Its a shame that these clubs have replaced town as the only option in many ways.i know as parents and as a consumer you have the choice but the amount to pay to play is ridiculous and only will go up. Feel bad with families with multiple kids. I remember like only 6 yrs ago it was only 1500

And if not enough data on a team dont rank them that is better than putting them way down where they shouldnt be. They should count all tournaments not sure why they do not. They left out some really big tournaments. My son's team beat 8 teams ahead of them......a top 5 team they went 2 and 2 with and are in the 30s somehow. Could be really cool though if they get it more accurate, but need to count all tournaments for that I think.

I see what you mean. Just looked at the Team Results and one team only have 6 games in the database while the majority are in the 15-25 range. At the very least, they should use the same # of games. Hope they improve it.

I know that at least 6+ of their very best players have gone to Taz and WP. Likely there are more than that. This team will struggle to win any games this year. Too bad. They were a solid team. Taz and WP will benefit handsomely, however. Taz lost no one and added some good ones. They were “good” last year. They will be “very good” this year. Even more talent for WP. Good luck to the coaches trying to keep them all happy with playing time.

the "very best" from a B+ to A level team means very little. i think you need to slow down with the superlatives. i've seen that team play this past season and to say the other teams with 'benefit handsomely' from them is a bit of a stretch. one can argue that they wouldn't improve the two teams who were already very good. that igloo team seem to be left with scraps and now a B team, and if what youre saying is true, we can expect them to play in lower brackets. so igloo will just sit here and take it to the chin?

I agree the prices are insane for a sport there no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow . Prime example Rob Pannell and Marcus Stroman, 2 kids played the sport there whole life 1 contract millions and millions and the other hardly anyone watches and the stands are empty .... wake up stop paying these crazy prices and in Maryland Lax club prices are half what Li pays .

Most of us have been on this thread a very long time. The conversation hasn’t changed since we started. Ninety percent of the posts are about WP, Taz and Express. In that order. This is Long Island, the undisputed hot bed of all hot beds for lacrosse. How is it that there still aren’t any teams in that conversation, even after all these years? There are only 60 kids on the Island with top talent? I don’t get it. There should be plenty of AA teams on the Island. Can’t really compare to MD teams, since they combine the grade ahead (holdbacks) with any given grade, and their on age kids are already up to 5 months older due to their cut off dates, but still... Long Island IS lacrosse. There really should be more “better” teams, right? Would appreciate different perspectives on this.

There are a ton of B teams on LI who would be A teams in any other state. However, the B teams are disrespected by the holier than thou LI parents, and especially the club owners.

B players' parents' money is just as green as A's. If club owners and parents were smart about it, they would ensure that their tournament brackets are level-appropriate to get competitive games where B players can enjoy playing time and improve. The problem comes down to egos of said club owners and parents. I can't count how many brackets I've seen where teams have no business being in.

Team 24 will be in the top of the next tier.

Too many teams and owners focused more on making money than making lacrosse players. The owners in their quest to capitalize don’t have the best coaches or training. Those coaches are just looking to win games to make it seem like they’re better then they are. A lot of kids that make up these teams are not club lax caliber players. Parents egos play a roll in wanting to brag that their kids are on the best team, even if they are the last kid on the roster. If you took the best 5-7 kids from the “B” teams and the worst 5-7 kids from the “AA” teams you could have about 8-10 competitive teams. Put some coaches in there that will make kids better and owners more committed to lacrosse and the players it may not be so top heavy.

I don't disagree. The business of youth sports is just that, a business. The first priority will always be "business" with the "sport" part a distant second. If the "business" were taken out of the equation, no doubt everything would be far different. Of curse, the extreme example of how bad this "business" can be, is with teams like Madlax, where quite literally it's all about the mighty dollar... the quintessential failure of the business model in youth sports. We, here on Long Island, are very fortunate that we live here and not in the MD area. Very few on-age athlete's get any opportunities at all, on AA caliber teams, due to their heavy dependence on holdbacks... a total epidemic problem down there. So while it's by no means perfect here, rest assured it could be far, far worse.

True Blue kids were at all of the try outs. Typical scenario. Better B team kids trying to get on an A team. Don't know where any landed, though.

At the 2024 level, I don't think they have won a tournament in years. Or maybe ever. Apparently the parents just got sick of having a good team and never winning anything. I don't think they fared too well at the WSYL either. Blaming the coach, obviously. They are probably right. The team was good. Should have done better.

It's Wolfpack & Taz then everyone else.....

Funny no mention of Sam the DC Dogs midfielder who played for Madlax in a couple of big tournaments this summer in the US Club Lax blurb today. Cheating D-Bags!!!!!!

He has been on that 2024 for years, and played up this year with dC dogs in HOCO and came back down in the summer. I know because we’ve played that team for years. The bigger difference makers were very big 0 and the faceoff guy. Made a huge difference for them (and yes there were other DC dogs helmets out there (meaning 2023s) but those players were the key to their success. Most of the team other than those two looked the same to me.

You know, this practice is common place with developmental type teams, or teams that have a hard time getting enough kids to field a team, just struggling to stay afloat. But I must say, I'm not aware of any elite teams that do this, besides Madlax of course, where it is a very well known practice. It's very hard to keep this sort of thing a secret, since many of our kids are friends via social media. The Madlax kids actually brag about it to my kid. Based on this organizations well earned reputation, it really should not surprise anyone.

Ok new question, let's change it up some. Instead of talking about the holdbacks - a number of our best players in 2024 play up. I'm talking Sept 2005 and younger playing on 23 Teams (not your top 5 teams but top 20 teams). Now that 2023 are considered HS - Do they stay with 2023 or start playing with their class?

I am thinking 1 more summer with 23 and then do HS with their actual class

I'm in the same boat. What you say makes sense. The question is, is anyone actually looking at Freshman or are the college coaches mainly concentrating on Sophomores? I would think it was Sophomores but I don't really know. I also had a director mention to me that it might be a problem when the team starts entering showcases but he wasn't sure. He said we'll figure it out when we get to that point.

If one is discussing JV or Varsity, the holdback issue is diminished, but not irrelevant. But this is a grade based forum, where holdbacks are still trying to steal glory. Holdbacks are a terrible part of lacrosse.

It really is enough already. Most of you people are just mad that your kids aren't on the top 2/3 teams and want to lash out because you have no other recourse. To tell you the truth, the kids do not care 1 bit. My son has many friends on those teams and he is happy they do well. He plays on a good team and works his butt off to get better. This is 13 yr old lax get a grip, most of the kids haven't even hit puberty yet. To make fun of teams that aren't Top 3 in the whole in country is a joke and says a whole lot more about the haters on here then anything else.

Wow! I haven't been on this site for a while. Its nice to see that nothing has changed.


Facts:

Prior to the NLF the WP boys/coaches/families were up the east coast and across to the west coast for 7 consecutive weeks. The parents requested to not enter this final tournament because everyone was fried. The 91 organization felt that it was necessary to participate. So, we packed up for the 8th consecutive weekend. It was 100 degrees with the humidity, we were missing 2 players, and one goalie was sick as a dog. The boys and families were spread over 10 different hotels, some over an hour away. So, when the NLF tournament directors offered the teams that did not make it to the finals the opportunity to leave due to the extreme heat, the coaches polled the parents and we gladly accepted the offer. Most parents brought the boys and their siblings, (who were troopers this summer) to a lake. Besides for the boys winning the WSYL, by far probably the best memory of the summer.


Now for the team that stayed to play the WP that day, that was terrible. I will say that there was not one parent or coach that did not feel awful about that when we found out. However, that was the responsibility of the tournament directors to communicate that to the coaches of that team not the WP. If it make anyone feel better, I think I speak for everyone when I offer my sincerest apologies.


I am aware that this was a waste of time- but at least I feel better... It is well known that people will always attempt to knock those that are successful. Those boys, families, and COACHES sacrificed an enormous amount this summer, so continue to bash them all you want. But, if you are looking for facts, THOSE ARE THE FACTS. Those trash talking and making comments about how you would "never even allow your child to tryout for that team"... you're loss. I could not be happier with the coaches, families and friends that he has been surrounded by for the past 6 years. He has made life-long friends that come from amazing families. Families that have been there for each other through thick and thin. Can anyone else say that? My experience with other teams is that there is an awful lot of jealousy and back stabbing. The vile things I have come across during my years on the sideline... that doesn't happen on WP. The coaches will send you packing. Finally, for the TOOLS that continue to write #packupandleave... you remind me of a 4 year old that made someone laugh so you continue to post the same garbage over and over and over. It is old. Don't be that guy...no one likes "that guy". Get a job. For the rest of the lacrosse community good luck this season.

Facts:

Wolfpack is mostly white trash suffolk and paycheck to paycheck families. Come sept 1 junior year most will be disappointed because they can't afford the PG year required to get a spot at the top schools. Alternative is Stony Brook or Hofstra at best. Unfortunately this ends up with junior back at home maybe selling insurance or real estate instead of mowing lawns. I guess that is an upgrade for most.Very few of these boys ever get off the island.

Not a 91 parent, but for the life of me, I don’t understand why this Madlax parent is so obsessed with Wolfpack, or any Long Island team for that matter. If I were coach of that team, I would aspire to play teams that were at least the same age as mine. Can’t win playing down a year and a half to two years. If I win, I’m suppose to win. If I lose, then that’s obviously not good either. It’s a lose/lose for Madlax. I mean, if I can’t beat teams with kids that are the same age as mine, I have nothing to brag about. Maybe someone can explain the logic behind bragging about aspiring to beat far younger teams.

Are you referring to the Madlax pay to play players or 2023 players they invite from other teams for certain tournaments, who don’t pay and really aren’t a part of the team? Or are you referring to the kids they use from their 2023 Madlax team, who aren't on the team either?

If you think that the sheer number of Maryland holdbacks is annoying, dishonest, corrupt, etc, you aren't alone. Make no mistake, when your kid's LI team plays a team from MD, the kids he is playing against are at least a year older than him, and most likely more than that. 70% to 80% of every single team from Maryland are holdbacks, as confirmed over and over again by actual parents from Maryland. This means that every kid that touches the field in a close game is a holdback. But if you are annoyed, it's nothing compared to the MD parents of on age players. There is simply no room for any opportunities on competitive teams for on age kids, since all positions are taken by kids that should be a grade higher. As a result, the honest on age kids are totally getting the shaft. So, yeah it's annoying playing against teams that have a dirty little secret that they don;t want you to know about, but that's nothing compared to what these MD teams are doing to their own youth and the sport at large. I don't know why or how you are saying this is a lie. Are you a parent from Mass or RI? The other guy is right at a tourney in RI the defense from a Mass team told our attack they were going into 9th grade. So either they are holdbacks or they are pulling kids down from their older teams. Is it only ok to bash Madlax for it on this board?

Absolutely not. We are an equal opportunity basher. We know that many teams do it. The question is, to what extent? Madlax just does it better than anyone else due to their DC proximity and corrupt to the core culture there. But the rest of MD are not far behind. All of the MD data is confirmed over and over again on the MD thread, by disgruntled parents of on age players. We know that 70% to 80% of every HOCO team ate holdbacks,which basically equates to every player that steps on the field in competitive games is a holdback. It’s true, many NE areas have similar situation to MD but there simply aren’t that many elite travel teams in NE, so we just don’t run into teams as often. And the holdback culture in NE in no way compares to MD where it is ingrained in youth lacrosse and considered the only route to success.

I have stood up for the Wolfpack for a couple of years now, but after looking at some social media last night I don't know why I wasted my time. I'll leave it at that.

I don't follow the 91 site but have always chimed in when I felt that the WP was being bullied on this site. Some of the posts I saw yesterday made me (and I am sure a lot of other people) rethink their overall opinion of the club and select players and parents.

They scoffed at a little travel team that started in the 2nd grade, when there was only one other team on the island that age. They said it was dense to start travel so young, driving all over the east coast, playing year-older teams since there were no other 2nd grade travel teams. A complete waste of time and money, they said. They laughed at the Wolfpack kids and parents, while their own children played in the sandbox, the Pack kids were getting after it, and competing their butts off.

Well it’s a bunch of years later now, and they aren’t laughing any more.

The Wolfpack boys have earned the status that they enjoy, by doing it the right way. They have worked their jerks off for a very long time. The majority of the team has been there since day one. No holdbacks, no 2023 Ringer’s no guest players. Ever. There isn’t an elite 2024 team anywhere that can make that claim.

So you’re telling me if you and your son were a member of the Pack FAMILY, you wouldn’t be over the moon proud of what this team has accomplished over the years? And most importantly, “how” they accomplished it? Pretty sure you’d be “Pack Proud”, just like us.

I was reading on the MD thread about how Madlax barely beat Hawks by 2 goals. Anybody's Game. Express parent was saying the same thing. Another 2 goal game which could have gone either way. That’s what happens anytime the pure holdback Madlax team doesn’t blatantly and boldly cheat by bringing in their stable of true 2023 players. Bottom line, if the cheating team of 100% holdbacks doesn’t bring 2023 players from a different team, or from the 2023 Madlax team, then they flat out lose to Wolfpack by a large margin. Indisputable. Bring the true 2023 DC Dogs players and the true 2023 Madlax players, it might just be competitive. So which team would show up? The Madlax cheater team of 100% holdbacks or the Madlax cheater team of 100% holdbacks AND true 2023 players from DCDogs and the 2023 Madlax team. Honestly, we aren’t going to waste our time playing your substandard 2024 holdbacks, so if you don’t bring the true 2023 players from Madlax and DCDogs, we have no interest running up the score on a bunch of below average holdbacks. Quick question: are the 2023 guest players also holdbacks, making them 2-3 years older than our boys? No biggie if they are. Just curious.

Agreed. Express beat ML in NLF last year. This past year was a 2 goal game. Express should have won that game. Not at all impressed with that team, any time they don’t have the players with the different helmets. Obviously they aren’t ML players. Those kids make all the difference.

Express should have won that game. And there were no helmets from the 2023 DC Dogs there. That team totally changes when they bring the 2023 kids. Very unimpressive without them. Take the new huge FO kid off that team, without the 2023’s, and they would have a hard time winning any games.

Considering how old that team is, I’d expect them to be a whole lot better than what they are. Lacrosse must not be very popular in Virginia.

Disgraceful how bold this team is about using players from older teams. They don’t care if people know. My son is a member of Express and some of the Madlax kids found him on social media. They talk about it all the time. Used players from the Madlax 2023 team for the NLF last July. Lots of people knew, but nobody seemed to care.

Holdbacks are one thing, but taking kids from 2023 teams just to win a particular tournament goes over the line. I don’t understand. Why don’t tournaments do anything? When was the last time you heard of a team being disqualified for using older players? I’ve never heard of a case. Yet we all knows it happens routinely.

At least express has proper 2024 holdbacks. Unfortunately doesn't seem to help. I guess proof they weren't held back for lacrosse.

We all know the issues with holdbacks so I am not going to continue, or dive into, that ad nauseam debate but saying that kids that were in the 2023 graduating class were playing for the 2024 team are not true. The team in the Fall and HoCo season had no 2023s playing for them. In the summer there were 1 or 2 kids who were in 2023 that reclassed to 2024. In addition there were a couple of kids who were playing on age at 2023 but are in the 2024 graduating class and decided to play on grade in grade based tournaments and leagues. For good or bad (and believe it or not I think grade based is idiotic in youth sports) in a grade based world all that matters is when you graduate, not your age. Funny thing is I have the exact same sources everyone here does, kids, parents and message board anonymity.

Hmmmm... who to believe?? The notorious, liar, anonymous Madlax holdback parent or the 15 year old Madlax 2024 holdback players that actually have names and who’s comments are well documented in social media. However when my sons Express team plays a team from Maryland, he is playing a team with almost no “on age” players, obviously. And in the case of ExLax, we all know those “on age” players are replaced with double hold backs and true 2023 players from other teams. My only question is, why do the ExLax players only play down?

I find it very odd when I come across posts that are complimentary of the on age players from Long Island, as if the LI teams are doing something noble, if not heroic, for playing on age lacrosse. Noble and heroic for simply playing by the rules? 🤔 They have it backwards. There is nothing overly noteworthy about our teams, other than that many of them are the best at what they do, anywhere. It is the Maryland teams that are noteworthy, in a very dishonest, self serving, almost narcissistic way.

Not a Tazzie, but I can tell you that Taz will be a force to be recommend with this year. They have always had talent. The mass defection to WP last year left a lot of very big holes, but still, the nucleus was extremely good. They plugged their biggest holes with some very good talent. So I expect them to be vastly improved this year, and all things considered, they did pretty well last year. Teams will not be taking this team lightly, trust me. Nor should they. Trash them now, but Taz will have the last laugh. Good luck this year gentlemen (just not against my boys team please!). 😉

It’s also going to depend upon who bbl brings. I remember last fall they were missing some kids presumably because of other sports. Could happen again this year. Regardless, they should be very good.

Interesting reading on the Maryland thread. They talk about how Madlax has only one on age player in the starting line up, which is the goalie. And there’s only one on age player on the second line, that doesnt play very much. Other than that, all of the Madlax players that get any playing time are holdbacks that are 15 years old. This doesn’t include the guest players that they get on occasion from DCDogs 2023 team or their own 2023 team, like they did at the NLF in July. Can someone explain to me why this team isn’t playing in a 2023 bracket? Are they afraid to play other 15 year olds? The DC Dogs are the 2023 team they do not have another 2023 team. Also, the majority of 2023 players are still 14.

So our Madlax stalker is admitting to his team using players from a team outside of Madlax and from a grade older. Last time I checked, this is a 2024 board and a 2024 bracket, which doesn’t allow 2023 players. So right there you are admitting to cheating which is no big deal because there isn’t a person reading this that doesn’t already know that. And assuming you are not lying about the 14 year old claim (yeah right!), that just means that they are playing on age for the 2023 age bracket. Now we know that the DCDogs are a Maryland team where playing on age is very rare, so based on that, you are lying about the 14 year old part. Based on what we all know as fact, those 2023 players are 15 years old going on 16 years old. By the way, holdback stalker parent, my kid that he is playing is on age and 12 years old. Thank you for confirming that Madlax is the cheater trash of 2024. What I don’t understand is, what does your kid get out of playing down between, at a minimum, a year to a maximum (??) of two and a half years? Sorry you don't read so good but the DC Dogs are Madlax. They bought a top MD team a fews years back. The 2023 team that was Madlax Capital was not good and did not win enough games. Madlax, being the world leader in youth lacrosse, did what good companies do, they bought a competitor. The acquired team wanted to keep the name DC Dogs as they practice at G-Town Prep and have ties to the school. The kids that were Madlax 2023 went different ways. My guess is that some went down to the 2024 team. The top players on the 2023 DC Dogs team have NEVER and will NEVER play on the 2024 team. If your LI 12 year olds really have to face the DC Dogs it would not even be close. This is the truth.

The only thing that matters now is showcases and recruiting. No one cares about holdbacks anymore. Could care less about a 2024 t-shirt tournament. Just wanted you to have accurate information. The DC Dogs formerly Club Blue are just fine. The core team plays the best 2023 teams at the best events and my son and his friends have never played a 2024 team. Not sure what you are even referring to. Wait and year and you will not care either. I just hope it is not too cold this fall because I know that your best team will not play if the weather is too cold or too hot.

By the way, a parent telling another parent what their kid should do and feel is LITERALLY creepy and psychotic.

Your kid is 12 years old? Stop. And if that is the case you should definitely hold him back ASAP.

Hey Madlax stalker. 12 years old sounds crazy to you I’m sure! But based on averages, about 25% of ever LI team that you play right now will be 12 year olds. No, not 15 year olds or 16 year olds. 12 year olds! And the funny thing is, they are kicking your kids 15/16 year olds butt every time they play. Chew on that fact, stalker!

We'll ask our kids about the rest of the cheating, like how every starter except for the goalie, is either a holdback, a double holdback, or a 2023 from a different team. Same scenario on the 2nd team.

Check a college roster. If you’re kid is still 12 and in 8th grade he has a very remote chance of playing in college unless you PG him. Please find me an example. I can find you dozens of your despised holdbacks in every college roster.

Madlax lost. Winning streak is over. The give the ball to the big middie only works for so long. Putting t-shirts ahead of player development has stunted this team's growth. What is the owner going to do now? Go out and get an even bigger, even older middie? It is the only offense the owner knows. The problem is that by high school everyone has hit their growth spurt and skills matter. Trust me on this one. This is the first of many losses and you will see the cracks grow. Kids and parents are not going to tolerate a roster of 30+ and taking a back seat to the owners kids and guest players when they are no longer winning. The only reason they have put up with it for this long is so they can brag that Johnny is on the best team in the world. Once the losses start adding up, kids will head for the exits for smaller rosters and more playing time so they can develop their skills before it is too late.

That is one way to look at it. The other fact is that the Crabs do what the Crabs do. The 2022 team became the 2023 last year and vaulted to the top. Maybe the left over '23's are now 2024 team. Either way, at least Madlax plays games in tough conditions #wolfpackupandgo

Frankly I'm surprised that not all DMV clubs follow Madlax' formula. If Crabs did in fact do that, good for them. They and others were probably sick and tired of getting embarrassed by ML.

Very true. It’s helped Madlax a bunch. Great formula. Use a 2023 team to play 2024 teams. Takeaway the 2023 players and Madlax doesn’t win a game all year.and gets completely demolished by every on age team from the island. Yeah, it’s the only thing that makes them remotely competitive... 15 and 16 year olds playing 12 and 13 year olds. Kinda embarrassing too, though, no?

Not about the money. Why not play Laxachusetts Green to get a competitive game. After all it’s the same team that beat you last summer.

Half the team is new and there already was talent there, I'm curious to see how Launch stacks up at the end of the season. Right now they're a "new" team with all of the pitfalls and it shows a lot in their offense. Once they work out the kinks it will be interesting to see how well they perform. Can Legacy pull off having both an AA and an A team in 2024 like 91 has with Bandits and Warriors in 2023? That would make Taz stronger in the long run for sure.

The 2023 91 teams are really the exception to the rule. I don't know if I can think of any other situation where a club has two competitive clubs on a grade level. I hope Legacy can pull it off. It will only be better for LI.

What a joke. The Maryland “formula” for success is to take a team that is a grade higher, and play in a bracket that is a grade lower. Pure freaking genius! The Maryland “formula”!! I got an idea! How about you take a bunch of on grade, on age kids and make them better! Answer: Because Maryland teams, plain and simple, can’t! Or they would be doing it, now wouldn’t they, cheater Maryland holdback parents? But what if that’s not enough, and a team is still losing?!! Answer: Take kids that are a grade higher, on other teams! Now that is a REAL formula for success, isn’t it Madlax holdback parents?

Good point. Why play fair, when you can cheat and get ahead that way. Makes perfect sense, to some. Others like to win the old fashion way, work hard and get better.
