Any good local tourneys for the FALL??? 7v7??

Is it true that Igloo raised their FEE's almost 25%?? What can they be offering or giving away to justify that increase??

Yes, Igloo is now $2,900. Wow, that better cover travel and hotels costs. Only 4 tournaments also.

I would imagine they lose some kids w/ that price increase. No club is even close to that and after watching them at hofstra, they are very talented but cant win drawers vs the top teams

A couple of their teams in the club have folded already. With those prices the club will have trouble getting players.

Heard they're merging

The merging rumor has been talked about all Summer. Not sure why a successful club would want take them under their wing.

Most successful clubs already have two teams per age group. What happens to Igloos "A" players? Do they think they are all just walking on to an already established A team at another club, just because the directors cut a merger deal?

Perhaps it's better if the club folds, and then the girls are free try out for whatever team(s) they choose best fits them

I think that Igloo's top 3-4 players could find themselves well suited to YJ or TG A teams, even cracking starting lineup. After that, many others will either wind up un B teams (not the worst, since they may bring in some much needed talent) or Legacy/Empire/Jesters type teams. We'll see

totally! but they are better off going to B+ teams never coming off the field and being the star then warming the bench on YJ or TG ....and they can make a B+ team became an A

Igloo has a couple attackman and a couple middies that could crack starting lineups at YJ or TG, but after that the other 15 will be excellent upgrades for the Legacy and Empires of the world. Its known that the coach ran everything via his kid (great player), but if you didnt oblige then you found your minutes cut..... many kids will be better off playing for other teams

PRICE increase of 25% is so ballsy by a program with 2 teams.......... and really only 1 elite team.
Igloo parents better go win nationals and sign up for someones tryouts. many girls are gonna make some other programs/coaches very happy

The last thing Thorns team needs is another Daddy/Mommy coach. Igloo Daddy coach actually knows what he’s doing and so does his daughter. That would not go over well on YJ because those coaches think their daughters shouldn’t leave the field, no way any of those girls are losing their starting spot. Would be a disaster.

I would not call it a merger because Igloo is not a club, they have 3 teams, one of them being good. The top 3-4 girls will go to a top team and the rest will disperse, established teams and clubs don't need full teams coming over. Considering the 2023 team is the only real team they have I assume the other 2 teams will just fold.

I see they will be collecting money for try outs before they make their announcement. Make that money before you get out...lol.

The same thing happened with team 91 last year both coaches left for the YJ a couple of girls went to YJ others went to Elevate and a few went to Empire.

A lot of fun down here in Delaware siting in our cars al day. Ugh!!

Get over yourself with the “MD top team” comment and age discrepancy. Elite lacrosse club is not a top team, MD girls have been playing rec/club since March, and you just need another excuse. How did Wright play 2x against the last place team and didn't have to play NXT or Jesters in pool play with only 6 teams in the bracket.

Ine game was a scrimmage in day one to help a team from Minnesota get some playing time for their long flight there. It was a favor YJ stepped up to help a team get experience against actual lacrosse teams. I sense a bit of venom in your voice which is sad. The 7-0 game was a scrimmage of 20 mins they recorded but didn’t count in standings. Yellow Jackets 2022 did same with Cardinals as scrimmage I think. Easy there spew spew

Yeah really paying that money should’ve covered the weather. Odd how all games were played even after 3 hour delay without a minute lost unlike most Tornaments were you’d have had games cancelled and told, Ducks don’t it. I swear nobody is ever happy. Carry on

When are Long Island parents finally going to wake up and realize we don't need to drive the turnpike every weekend to play lacrosse? Igloo vs YJ like everyone didn't see that coming. Spend 4 days in DE and all that money when you could have that game anywhere on LI. I suggest Back of the Cage, a neutral party, hold a Long Island Shootout. This way CR and SS aren't running it and both would attend it. It's a no brainer and everyone talks about how nice it would be not to drive the Turnpike and sleep at home. Plenty of talent at 2023 to make that a competitive tournament. Come on Back of the Cage step up and help out the parents of Long Island.

Sooo, another disappointment for Thorn. Can’t win big games. Offense is weak, slow shots. Only thing that kept them in the game was the 91 goalie. Unfortunately they spent 3 days in Delaware to go home losers. On the bright side, they did beat Monsters, at a weak tournament, nobody can take that away from you! And you can continue to claim the 3rd best team on LI title. Safe travels!

Nobody plays by US lacrosse rules they tried to enforce an age rule change the club directors laughed at them.US lacrosse is a joke no id cards for players. US soccer puts an age rule in and everyone complies. See the difference between the two One is respected the other is not.

No one complained stunad. It was a great, evenly matched game. Show the post of the compaint. Hats off to Igloo on their win. Every game has calls people don’t agree with, but the weekend was great, the tournament was great and both teams (and parents) were great. No jawing between these two teams. Igloo has earned respect, and YJ Thorne did as well. If you can’t respect teams going punch for punch in that setting then another sport might be better suited to be part of.

Wasn’t really evenly matched. First off Igloo beat YJ handily in pool play. YJ goalie stood on her head to keep YJ in the game play in the championship. Everyone saw it Nd the Igloo coach even stayed that in his interview. Was great lacrosse, agree with that especially when YJ gets to go home a lost.

Heard there could be a lot of movement this year. Some YJ an Igloo girls may be coming to TG. The bottom of that roster could be In trouble! Was also wondering if anyone will be attending the TG Draw clinic. Could be cool to see some of the better LI girls go at it. As for the camps, seems like a waste of time.

Only problem there is that the coaches stink and they have a poor record. Why would a top player want to play for a mommy and daddy coach who favors certain players who are not most deserving of being on the field? The team is also only 3rd best on LI, and would be a step down for the 2-3 top girls. Basically a mess that people are getting tired of.

That's the kool aid talking. Who would want to put their daughter in a situation with an abusive coach and dad coaches that are there for self serving reasons on the 2023 YJ team. The college coaches will find your daughter if she's a good player regardless of the piney she wears.

Don't play club at all, go to every camp and clinic held by the schools you're interested in and you will be better off, that's the new paradigm, new recruiting rules have taken all the leverage from clubs and given it to college coaches - follow the money, the clubs are all selling BS to those who want to buy it, plenty of crazy/dellusional parents willing to finance somebody else's dreams. The pie has gotten smaller, but everybody still wants the same size piece!

The top girls on YJ, TG, and Igloo will have their choice of school providing they keep their grades up. Bottom line is that right now TG is a more solid team than YJ. The coaches BS and S Apuzzo are fair and knowledgeable and never yell at the girls. Lots of favoritism and negativity on Thorn. Do either of these teams have room for more girls is another question. As for YJ, it would be very tough to displace a starter on that team, too many favors. On TG, BS would absolutely take a stud player and start her. He also would cut the bottom of the roster without a thought. I would rather have my daughter on a team where you need to earn your spot fairly. It’s never a good thing when coaches get too close with parents. TG has earned the top team on Long Island for a reason. And we’re proud to be a part of it.

clubs are starting to decline...you don't have to play on a club anymore to be looked at...there are so many HS showcases and elite programs where college coaches go too...and if your daughter is as good as every parent believes they are they will be found !! coaches are friends behind the scene and all talk to each other ...they begin their recruiting months before the try outs are even posted !

Ummm......You can't be more wrong. Being on a competitive club provides game time experience. There is no substitute for that. There are no top girls at any HS on LI that do not play competitive club. Your daughter is not going just show up at some showcase and stand out without years of hard work and of course talent. Hofstra? Common there's not a kid with any other options who would play for her, several transferred out early and many others couldn't wait to graduate and get out of there, not to mention the best team she ever had there was the one she inherited, all her recruits have come up way short. can't judge talent or can't recruit it, either way nobody there is having fun

Speaking of competitiveness, we are a soccer family and just starting out with 4th grade club lax and one thing that is seems different is the hold backs. In soccer, when we played, we were always trying to play up an age group to eventually be ready for meaningful games down the road. Almost seems counterintuitive to be hold your kid back early on. Don't you want them to get better against better competition???

For the top colleges and top recruits it is the other way around. ALL you need to do is be a top player on one of the top club teams. Show up and perform in summer club games against another top team, the coaches seek these games out and two top clubs at a good tournament will have 20-30 coaches dialed in. Forget wasting all that time and money at camps, complete waste, when the coaches see a kid play and are interested ( yes even under new NCAA rules) they reach out through back channels and let the kid know to get to campus. Then it’s worth while doing camps and clinics. 98% of the kids that show up to these camps and clinics are in over their heads and have no realistic shot at being recruited, especially at the top programs.

I could care less about who does or does not go to Hofstra or who won the Teewaraton (although it is pretty cool that both are connected to TG). Personal attacks on SS are rediculus, but since she is a director I guess it comes with the territory, after all , look what they say about CR.I’ve been with the club for 4 years and have only experienced positive with the coaches and directors. Bill Smith is passionate about lacrosse and puts his heart into this club. Igloo clearly better than Thorn. YJ parents struggle with this the only age group on the Island where they aren't the top team.

Great game? Igloo made less mistakes than YJ that sums it up not great lacrosse.

I can remember the YJ crew stewing over this for a couple years now. They would say, "wait till 8th and 9th grade, the best girls will leave TG for YJ", in fact the opposite has happened with more to come!

What is exactly wrong with Hofstra? It's definitely not the right fit for my daughter, due to the type of student and player she is, but it is a good school. I know several kids on the boys side who go there and love it. They're not going to win a championship, but that is pretty much out of reach for any school not in the top 15. Some kids prefer to stay close to home and don't want to go to StonyBrook, which has it's own issues, and will be getting worse (had there chance and blew it!). What is your problem putting down the school choice for anyone?? How would you like it if I started poking fun at many of the lower level schools some girls are committing to? It might be the right place for them for many reasons, none of which is any of your business. I have on Kid in an Ivy, and one in a top 50. They are both where they belong. Now grow up and stop acting like a donk! As for TG coaches yelling at players, I have not seen it, disappointed and pulled, yes, that's life. If you think players get abused by coaches now, just wait till your kid gets to college. Ive heard stories from my kids friends that would make your skin crawl. They toughen up, and learn to deal with it!

Igloo runs through the coaches daughter if she's off the team doesn't win. She will force the ball in games knowing her supporting cast isn't strong.

That team has been playing a zone defense for years and probably does it better than anyone at that age group. Do they not contribute? 1 or 2 girls are the focal point of the offense, that's really profound. Please Google Apuzzo, Ohlmiller and Cummings. All great teams have a focal point and if you don't think those types of players make everyone around them better, you plain don't know the game. There is no Kool-Aid at Igloo. The price? please do your research and see what you get for the price - year round training, uniforms/equipment and great coaching. I don't have a daughter in the age group but I can tell you from experience it would be the best money you ever spent on lacrosse. No cash in an envelope to practice, no extras everything Is laid out including the entire years schedule at your first meeting in September. Who is drinking the Kool-Aid??

If you are looking for an expensive, daddy coach who runs everything through his daughter and don't play in competitive Maryland tournaments Igloo is for you. Btw Apuzzo and Ohmiller are great players they have more assists than goals and do make the players around them better. Igloo doesn't play that way..

It is not creepy, I have a daughter on one of the other teams. I have watched the team play and practice many times. Why don't you disclose what team your daughter plays for so we all know why you are writing these disparaging remarks? I'm not interested in knocking other clubs because they all provide a service that if you are happy with good for you. These are the best retorts?? "creepy" and "pray"?? You have shown yourself to be delivering fake news.

Supplemental tryouts are geared toward players that either missed a tryout or tried out for a team and are unhappy with where they were placed.

YJ does not lose to Igloo again and you can take that to the bank.

You are definitely not a finance major! The only way that happens if if Igloo dissolves. Otherwise you again are making claims that are not backed up. We have heard for the past year how Thorn was “looking great” and “going to win”. Well, none of that happened. In fact, it was another disappointing and embarrassing year for the big “bad” YJs. Facts are this: YJ can’t beat top teams, and are in 3rd place on LI. The only thing I can say you deserve is a participation trophy.

Agreed but Igloo is not drawing girls as the they get closer to recruiting age YJ will draw more talent their reputation is well known. Igloo can't get into competitive tournaments and their players won't get seen by college coaches playing in the tournaments they participate in. On the other hand YJ will play in the top tournaments and have a much better opportunity to be recruited. If your daughter aspires to only play club and high school lacrosse then Igloo fits the bill.

They are already trying out for TG.

A couple things: Top Igloo girls will not be going to YJ. Furthermore, YJ will not be attracting “top talent “ they will be lucky if they keep the talent they have with the coaching issues on that team. The best girls in the grade play for TG, Igloo, and YJ right now, after that there’s a big gap. There are a handful of other girls on teams such as Jesters that could turn out to be top recruits but those are few and far between and would need proper development to advance. No top player from TG would ever go to YJ, infact YJ has already lost top players to TG. As for Igloo, will be interesting to see what unfolds there. If the coach and his daughter leave, it would most likely be to TG, that would essentially end the Igloo program an separate TG and YJ even further. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

YJ also lost a bunch of decent players to Legacy. You have to ask yourself why all these good players left? And it’s not because they sat on the bench.

Translation: stay away from daughters team. You might take her spot. Who cares about making the team better. It's all about me and mine.

No way Iglooo will go to YJ . They know all about the problems with that coach on that team. They would never go there and subject themselves to that. But they will be knocking girls out of their spots in other programs grabbing A positions for sure.

Guess we'll see! Liberty tryouts today and TG on Sunday. Doesn't Liberty have the same issues as Igloo, where they don't play in any big tournaments? I also know that they are not a strong team, but if they get some of the good Igloo girls, they could be more competitive.

More than 50% of college lax players do not play all four years and very few are making a good living via lax when college is over. BTW when college coaches start watching you in 2-3 years they don't care what the score of the games are or who won. One last thing, the worst teams in the country have 1-2 kids that can play and they will get noticed and recruited, the player gets recruited, not the team. Go look at the college rosters of top 20-30 teams, it's amazing, but not all the players come from yj and tg and even less in Ivy's and top academic schools , but you will always have your championship t-shirt - go figure

Wow, you are really living with your head buried in the sand. You also really don’t care about excelling at Lacrosse. There are plenty of girls that care about both academics and athletics who play for the most competitive teams who have the best chances, hands down, at getting into a top 20 school, and competing both athletically and academically. Face it, Liberty Lacrosse just does not have the stats to show that they commit girls to top schools. And did you really just say you have one or two kids per team that are recruited to a good school?? That’s embarrassing! Both YJ and TG eclipse them. Not about the tee shirt, about the prize at the end, and unfortunately Liberty does not deliver there. When you play the best competition, you get better, and see where you stand, Liberty simply does not do that.

Very TRUE about DG and recruiting. Since she is a former D1 coach she has a lot of connections. In addition the person that runs the program with her is a former UNC player and also has great connections.

My Niece plays for Igloo (played) it was said most are going to YJ as a team a few are going to TG and Empire

where are most of the players coming from...North shore? i guess you could say that since those high schools are pretty good acedemically, there is kind of like a filter playing for Liberty as the likelihood of also getting a student with solid academics is high. Anyway, i am in Nassau but hesitate as I assume most of these kids are from manhasset and don’t want to be an outsider

Seen this before...Rose will put the best on A but to appease she will say there are two A teams now, and that they are equal. then B will basically become the C but they will be told they are still B because there are two As .

If you disband an entire team, as in this case, it makes sense that you have a scatter effect with a few girls landing at various clubs. You will likely see one or two make the top teams at TG and YJ, a couple make the second teams. Maybe some show up on Liberty, Elevate or Legacy, those teams are step down competition wise from what Igloo was (individual team and age group specific), but may offer other attractive advantages for an individual. So long as everyone finds a team they are happy with. There is no right place for everyone. My kids switched from Top Program A to Top Program B and it was the best move ever, some of their friends did the same and hated it. Point is every club is different, every team in that club is different , and every players/parents experience on any given team is different. Even if you are on a happy, well established team, you have to roll with all the dynamic changes these teams go through year to year, and hopefully have a good experience all the way through, its a rollercoaster ride.

Your talking about the 2019 team. Unfortunately the 2023 group is not competitive. Maybe some will go D2 or 3. You still need yo know how to play lacrosse, despite any “connections” you might have.

that’s a pretty ignorant comment.. Liberty seems to have a pipeline to the ivies ie UPenn whereas YJ seems to have a pipeline to the SUNYs ie Binghamton. Check out commits and also check out CRs twitter if you don’t believe me...the lackluster academics and school districts in Suffolk certainly don’t help. quite frankly part of the recruiting comes down to academics and the while many Nassau districts are tops in the COUNTRY , schools in Suffolk leave a lot to be desiree. sad but true.

If you’re daughter does not care about winning, and it’s just fun, she shouldn’t be thinking about playing in college. College coaches are hired to win games, not have fun. If that the case, you’re daughter is better suited for club ball. By this age, most girls no where they stand talent wise, and if you have aspirations of playing in college you better be starting on a competitive club team and playing with your schools varsity team.

Honestly, the younger Liberty teams do play in some really weak tournaments. As they get closer to recruiting age they start playing in more competitive tournaments like Mid Atlantic and Live Love Lax.

So 12 year olds turning 13 should be playing on Varsity? No.

They played 2 local tournaments and 2 off the Island, Project 120 and The Grind. Played in the top bracket of those tournaments. Had one goal wins and losses against STEPS, Ultimate, T3, Common Goal, BBL, 3D.

So it seems like they played in appropriate tournaments against opponents of like ability.

Majority of kids from Long Island who play in college played on 1 of 4 clubs:
YJ
Top Guns
Liberty
Elevate

Yes there have been other clubs over the years that girls have played on from Long Island and gone onto play in college and maybe there will be more in the future but as we have seen with Igloo, fl$, Express, 91, Icon, is that boys clubs that try to navigate in the girls space mostly fail.

So if you are hitching your wagon to one of those clubs then you are in for bumpy ride. If you want to get serious looks for college with directors who have connections with many college coaches then choose one of the four above.

So if Liberty as a “decent B” team is consistently committing girls to play lacrosse at the next level then it has done it’s job. Nothing more Nothing less.

Ive been through this rodeo a few times, and have gotten burned, which may explain why I am so much more aware of the back room dealings , as well as making sure my daughter is in the best possible position, and that she works for it. Many of you have absolutely no idea what a screwed up sport this is. I know, and am definitely jaded. Still, there are a lot of great kids and parents out there, just few and far between. I blame it on the clubs.

DG the same person that Manhasset ran out of the school district after winning States. Look into why and if you trust your daughter being coached by her

Anything to justify why you team stinks! You may list a few Ivies as commitments, those girls probably got in there for reasons other than Lacrosse. I bet none of your former players were College All Americans or even starters for that matter, no wonder they don’t make past sophomore year on the team.

Team captain Cornell, Florida, Harvard, Penn to name a few, several all-americans and all-conference players also tewaarton watch list. sidelines for yj and tg are toxic to say the least. Btw nothing that DG has ever done can begin to compare with the way SS treat her players, both club and college

There is an interesting twist to liberty moving forward with the director no longer at the HS helm. I know several girls in the older age groups who played for liberty as they felt they had no choice. Now all these younger kids are free to play wherever they want with no backlash. I would guess to say Liberty teams will become less competitive, but the HS team will likely remain strong.

TG will probably offer positions to 3-4 new girls. Maybe two didn’t return, maybe two more will be cut. There were over 70 girls at the tryouts, so we’ll see what happens.

This is true. On the boys side, I can tell you that it becomes a real problem. It's the reason Legacy started up. Took 91s second A teams. This will last for one year, Then they will merge into one A team. Problem with Igloo, is there is really only one girl who is a true A player, she comes as a package deal with her Dad as a coach. So the majority of the girls on this second "A" team will be cut. I also don't think the Thorn team needs any more Daddy coaches.

That will work out great for this team. They keep what they have built intact, then massively upgrade all the players recruitability under the YJ banner. Absolute best thing that could have happened to this team, they actually got lucky that igloo folded.

So basically the pecking order remains the same on LI. Also heard the big basketball player, who was arguably the second best player on Igloo quit lacrosse. I aslo have to wonder if the two teams will poach from each other if one makes a championship and the other doesn't. That could really hurt girls in the middle of the roster, as well as certain starters who will not see any minutes in big games. Be careful what you wish for, because all CR cares about is winning games, not the girls.

Sounds like the father here.........hoops player maybe top 10 in scoring on team and played attack,,,,,maybe top 10. I am sure a great hoop player but no factor in lacrosse. not a big lose for the team

Igloo has one great player period. Although she sometimes doesn’t show up in games, such as the beat down Igloo took from TH at there last meeting. TG has an Arsenal. There is no one player who makes the team. There are about 5-6 girls on that team who are lights out. The big Smithtown girl who shoots rockets. The wings play of the Islip and CSH girl, The Wantagh Attack unit. Very rare for all of them to be off in a game. If they win draws they pound goals, and have greatly improved there. YJ has similar strong girls at several positions, as well as a stand out goalie. Igloo/ YJ West is just not deep and it will be revealed this year. Then the one girl will move to Thorn, and rest of the team will be leafy to scratch.

No need to panic this year things will stay status quo. Next year is a brand new ball game when the Igloo/Thorn girls all tryout and form one A team. There will surely be some very unhappy campers then you may want to leave if you aren't one of the top ten girls on Thorn.

Let me single out a few players so it seems I am nor just promoting my daughter, throw in some town names and positions, make sure I mention my daughter in this agenda so she gets recognition as one of the top players. PATHETIC.

Actually, all the parents get along fine, and the entire team is talented and plays in all games. That’s the point. There is no one girl. They have plenty that are capable of stepping up at anytime, which is why the team has been so successful and returns basically the entire group every year. Please stop trying to create drama where there is none.

Every team, in every age group in every club has a roster of players with varying ability. It was a nice competitive battle the 2023 Igloo/TG/YJ teams enjoyed for a few years. Shame TC sold out his players to the highest bidder. If he was really just looking to keep them together there were many clubs like Empire that would have gladly taken them in.

He was looking for a high profile home for his 2021. Everything else was collateral damage.

CR gave TC the hand outs he was looking for...so we will see if it works out. If you live in Nassau and play YJ, why would you want to play on Thorn. On the strength that Igloo has beaten Thorn consistently, your daughter may get more looks from colleges on YJ Nassau. Will parents have a say of what "A" team their daughter is placed in this 3-4 team fiasco in this age group? What are this year's try outs really worth when the whole ball game changes in a year? I guess YJ peeps have money to throw away.

Correct TC did a great job of taking care of his daughter and himself. Don't expect more than one or two Igloo girls on Thorn's team when they merge. Thorns team is talented and there are too many friends and family to take of.

Tg has one good team and they are too happy to thro their teammates under the bus, as you can see nobody wants to be on the sideline with that group of insane parents, if you think it bad now wait another year or two when colleges are watching the games

Looking forward to the merge of Igloo/YJ in a year and all the crying and belly aching when girls that have been on the YJ team for years get dropped to W's team and TC is coaching as T stands by and watches. Don't bury your head in the sand and pretend its not going to happen the writing is on the wall. And that will be happening 2 years before recruiting begins it will be great timing for all those loyal parents.

TC Disciple, here. Why are YJ parents freaking out, if they are only a one player team? Why do you lose to one player? Maybe your the one is who is afraid. TC did everything he could, your forgetting one fact - he does not own Igloo. Never fear competition that's what you should be teaching your kid instead of building your excuse. Plenty of kids, from Nassau, play YJ especially as they get closer to recruiting age. Your spreading lies. Yes all money will be refunded for tryouts, but this has nothing to do with TC. Given the circumstances he did the best he could with what was dealt.

I can't believe CR did taking over Long Island Lax...she did it. I mean should have been expected. She does have YJ north. Making inroad into YJ Nassau is a superb move given that Nassau has produced many state champions. and now with CSH moving into class C its all cake. WOW !!!!

I understand where you stand as far as girls making sacrifices to help Igloo but in their defense in which I absolutely have no connection with them whatsoever, if they were unable to field a team, I think they did the right thing in merging their program with the strongest program there is. Embarrassing isn't it? For a one day event, I even thought about paying 200 and thought that would be a little crazy. It isn't even an exclusive invite only type of event. The definition of money grab, sad for the sport. I'm sure the rich little snobs will stand out without any real competition in the house. Unfortunately, these coaches are being paid, and could care less.

Would cost more to drive to Maryland or anywhere else that requires an overnight stay to see 1-2 of these coaches and you get in front of a great group of schools, except Hofstra, not sure why they're included, you certainly don't need to spend this money for them to see you, they have stuff all the time

At this age, the girls should gear up for Under Armor. The Igloo event is a waste of time and money.

The Under Armour tryouts for LI are not until May I believe. For 2023’s only 2-3 kids will even make the Long Island team (mostly 2020’s) The elite camp thing UA runs is a complete waste of time. This Igloo camp is silly as well. All of you on here have the ultimate platform to get coaches attention, show up to your summer travel games in two years and preform on the field, gear up to do that. Get selected to UA and schoolgirls, get the county awards for school ball and everything falls into place with out spending absurd amounts of money on these joke camps.

They will lose their top girls next year. Recruiting happens in the fall. Director needs a lesson from Liberty. Have to be seen and to be seen they have to be on the circuit in September and October.

2-3 studs for the younger years of both age groups will make it playing up.They always give a few of those spots to the younger standouts and deservingly so. This happens in all regions.

They will take two YJA girls, one being the new coaches daughter, and 2 TG girls. That's about it. Girls looking to make the team better be standing out on Varsity this year!

Spooky Nook, "Indoor Championship" Is not a good barometer of the talent of a team. The teams are all going with reduced rosters and missing top players. Just a fun event, nothing more.

In most cases if you play for YJ or TG and are a starter/impact player you will be fine. If you are watching the games you will know who those players are they don't need to be pointed out to you. If you are on the YJ/TG roster for whatever reason ( pay/play, siblings in the program, friends and family) you are not automatically going to get recruited because you are wearing their pinney. You need to play to be seen.

Case in point, TG 2020 has 6-7 kids(excluding Hofstra) committed, the rest aren't even playing anymore, they only have one team for the age group - started with 48 players on rosters, finished with 24 and more than half of them won't be playing anyplace special if at all, but they win all their games (no subs in any close games) and you have your championship t-shirts!

Hopefully! After all , TG does have the only LI Teewararton winners. They breed strong lacrosse players and have a few studs on the 2023 team. None of the top girls are leaving and are committed to being the best they can be. That said, love the competition with YJ, and wish the best to all the girls. I’m sure a few of them will wind up together in college

The TG 2020's talent didn't evaporate it moved. Levy was the coach, left to start Legacy and players left with him. A daddy coach who ran a rogue team left to YJ and players went with him. Those players that left are now committed to UNC, BC, Syracuse, Hopkins, etc.I would say they finished strong.

The girls that played on that 2020 TG team are committed to the following schools:

The girl from Massapequa committed to UNC prior to touching the field for YJ. Some left due to the coach starting up the Legacy program others followed the Riverhead daddy coach to YJ he used a top player to land himself a coaching gig. Sounds familiar didn't the Igloo coach just do the same thing.

The Legacy commits for the 2020's are very impressive considering they have always been the third team in this age group. Makes you wonder if Levy is putting more effort in helping his girls get committed than the other clubs.

Who has Wright played and beaten? Wright competes in B divisions as Legacy competes in A divisions.

These are showcase tournaments there are no playoffs and yes while Igloo is playing M&D black Thorn is tying Pride. Cr is putting her strongest team in the top bracket to represent the YJ brand

So, explain this to an outsider... there's no definitive "A" team for YJ? I've never seen another team where they don't make it very clear which team is A, B, or C.
Is this not true for YJ? There are 4 2023 teams, but people argue how they rank compared to each other? That's very strange to me!!

It should make no difference in a showcase. The kids should play equally talented teams and ALL kids should play! Stay away from some (Nassau programs) who care only about winning and helping out the few favorites. YJ commits lots of kids! No matter what they ALL end up where they belong.

2023 YJ has been a mess for years....there are very good players on all 3 teams...besides a couple top girls and a couple bottom....they could switch it all up and have same results between the 3 teams.

Please don’t say any of the 3 teams.
Thorn and Igloo:Colbert are in a different league than Wright.
7-10 goals separate those 2 from Wright.
Pretty sure thorn has lost to Igloo the last bunch of times.

YJ used to make the distinction - Blue was the top team and Gold was second. Then CR's marketing mind kicked in and she realized she could attract more parents (and their money) if everybody could claim they were on the A team. That's when she switched to calling teams by their coach's name. Typically the teams have been listed in order on the "Coaches" tab of their website, but not always the case - especially when you factor in F&F, etc.

Empire in the top 5 is not even close they lost to their own 2024 team. I guess beating jesters is huge for you to walk around pounding your chest but to lose against a younger team LOL. Nice try!!!

Probably half the UA command team is from YJ 2022 and 23 so I guess they all want to join Legacy. Oh wait, TG girls must want to join Leg too.

Listen, there are not very many elite 2023 girls. YJ Thorn has only one, and she’s injured. YJ Igloo has only one girl who carries the team. TG has 4, two are injured. Unless all these girls get together on the same team LI will continue to struggle against the top competition.

Looks like TGs didn’t struggle against the top competition this weekend. Maybe you might want to rethink your post.

Lol, if you call struggling beating M&d black, TLC and Grizzlies and losing to Heroes by 1 goal on a short puddle filled field we have different definitions of what struggling is.

TG is doing well due to the depth of the team, as is M&D. YJ not so much, the loss of the one girl is revealing of the talent on that team. Will be interesting when the YJ teams combine next year and many girls are left scratching!

YJ has plenty of talent. They have girls that made the ua team, wpll team and they are extremely talented. Back off the yj is missing one player and that's why they are struggling they have plenty of depth to pick up the slack. This is not a one player team by any stretch

TG is definitely the best 23 team and YJ blue will continue to struggle.

Deals are in place it'll be interesting to see if the coach and his daughter can co exist with the Thorn team. The rest of the Colbert team will be left high and dry.

Legacy looked great last weekend, I believe they would be the #2 team on LI now. Wouldn't be surprised if a few YJs move over there. Great coach! And no my daughter does not play there, she's a Gun

The YJ Thorn team is not going anywhere. They have made their choice. They are entering the HS years, now is not the time to switch for good or bad they have to ride it out for the next three years. They will continue to be mediocre while TG remains a top 2023 team in nation and Legacy continues to improve. The YJ parents know they are stuck and can't do anything about it.

Jesters look to be coming into their own. Saw then this weekend and they look much improved.

Probably not, the other girl (MC) is better and a ball hog. Won’t be pretty. Better off going to a team like Legacy where she would be a star.

Legacy plays team ball not hero ball with no daddy coaches.
