@BackOfTheCAGE
The Nassau County Lacrosse Officials Association (NCLOA) conducts its New Candidates Class every year for those interested in becoming a certified NY State high school lacrosse official.

This year's class will begin in January 2018 and will consist of two classes a week for approximately 6 weeks. You must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate.

We need new officials who have AVAILABILITY during the week to work public school BOCES boys lacrosse games in Nassau County (LI). Due to that demand, we have a shortage of officials.

It's a great way to earn extra income and get involved in one of the fastest growing sports in the USA. Lacrosse is a running game so we need officials that are up to it physically.

Our mission by contract is with the NY Public High School Athletic Association and Nassau BOCES and it is to recruit and develop officials to work at the public high school and junior high level.

WE DO NOT RECRUIT TO TRAIN OFFICIALS FOR TOURNAMENTS OR OTHER ORGANIZATIONS. We are not looking for weekend warriors.

Please ONLY APPLY if you can work games STARTING AT 4:00 PM ON WEEKDAYS (Monday - Friday) in Nassau County (LI). Weekend games are very limited and only at the JV and varsity level.

Any requests to be considered for the upcoming class will be accepted in the order they are received only from Sept. 1 - Nov. 30th.

All applications are done by completing the electronic form on the NCLOA website (www.ncloa.org) under RECRUITING, filling out the form completely and hitting SEND. An acknowledgement that it was successfully sent will then appear.

No request is held over from year to year. If you were on our waiting list last year, you must reapply before each upcoming season. All received requests will be acknowledged by e-mail and those accepted for the class will be notified in December.

The cost of the class is $200 and includes all learning materials including the 2018 NFHS Boys Lacrosse Rule Book and 2018 US Lacrosse Boys Lacrosse Officials Field Mechanics Manual. It is also TAX DEDUCTIBLE.

We provide the teaching and training of new boys lacrosse officials that is among the best in the nation. With dedication and hard work, several NCLOA officials have even gone on to successful officiating careers at the college and even the professional ranks. You can watch and learn from them and join a great organization that builds friendships for a lifetime.

Please pass along this information to anyone you know that is interested, if they can meet our criteria.

LACROSSE is "The Fastest Game On Two Feet". Our motto is "Get Involved..Give Something Back..Become an Official". We are "the Third Team on the Field".

Thanks,

Engin Suvak
NCLOA Secretary
