Which 2022 teams had 2023 on them? To me, those will be the organizations with good 2023

YJ had no cross over this year 2022 had two teams, 2023 had two teams. Looking at the website they will be adding 23025's this year? at least at tryouts.

She has played for our town, but never at the club level. North shore of Nassau. If someone could provide some comments on the various teams on LI it would be great. Looking for a nice group that isn't too crazy.

Yes- very good. Saw them tie Jester girls at Laxfest. Also strong 2023 team- jesters won the tournament

In the Lax4backpacks tournament Elevate didn't look too good.

i think at this age the organization that stays on LI is the winner. No need to go traveling off island.

You do have enough on the island to keep it fun and competitive. Practice at this age is what your looking for not time on the turnpike.

YJ beat Elevate 6-0 at Lax by the Sea in NJ, Split with Igloo (A good quality team). Beat fl$ 10 - 2.

Jesters have a team?

I had not heard of them before, but we played Igloo this year and I was impressed. They seem like a good all around team. Not sure where they are out of or what their story is- but it was a local tournament.

Blue Devils 2023 played in the 2023/2022 division and took 1st place. They lost in playoff to a 2022 team. My daughter is on that team and love it.

Not that impressed with the coaches on this team.

Did the Blue Devils even travel off Long Island?

Is there really any reason for 2023 girls to spend half their summer on the Jersey Turnpike? There are enough local tournaments on Long Island at this age.

Listen, my daughter is 2023 but played 2022 this past summer, we did travel and the girls had a blast doing it, but in all of the tournaments that we were in the championship it was against teams from Long Island. The other tournament we werent in the championship we lost in the quarter finals to another Long Island team.

I have mixed emotions about travelling, the girls build such great relationships on the road, but we get the best competition right here in our backyard. There were actually some tournaments where we played our own B team in the finals. Maybe cut the away tournaments down to 1 or 2 instead of 3/4 and that could be the answer. It would also be a lot lighter on the wallet if they were able to do that.

2023 seems to have a great group of long island players, parents, and teams, including new teams to add to the mix... Top LI teams this past summer in 12v12 action were IGLOO 2023, Blue devils. Igloo appears to be the team in this age group from Nassau County (North Shore)... Blue Devils form Suffolk County (South Shore)!!! Both Igloo 2023 and Blue Devils from what Ive heard have plans to stay on Long Island for another year of spring/ summer tournaments... Good move!!

Is Thorn or Wright the A team coach for this age group?

Coaches have historically been listed in order of team strength. If that's still the case, Thorn is A.

Are you the same person who is saying the same thing in 2021? Both age groups are start ups and all the invites haven't been accepted yet. So either you have a kid on 21 and 23 or your just trying to start trouble for the new program (most likely the latter). Either way let their record speak for itself in August after the play the season.

Thorn is the A team. Wright's team did beat them. Wrights team had a few 2024s and one 2025 that were probably put there because of their age and not their skill level which may have tipped the balance.

Wright's team struggled all summer but that day Wright's team won that game fair and square. They jumped out to a 3-0 lead right away and played with a purpose and won. By the time the A team began to get their act together it was too late.

Im sure there will be plenty of changes in YJ land the b team should never beat the a team regardless of whatever excuse you want to come up with of why it happened.

There should be big changes in YJ 2023 land. Thorn's team had a lot of talent and it was wasted with inadequate coaching. Coach Thorn did not do right by those girls or the YJ program.

That coach did a terrible job with all that talent and they even lost a game to igloo of all teams.

Team91KS is another talented team...will be fun to watch all of these teams compete at some point this year. Coaching is everything with the younger age brackets-fundamentals and team lacrosse

I believe the Igloo girls teams are very talented. Don't think there is any shame in losing to them. They beat a lot of teams last year. But with that said I think we need to start seeing that the game is expanding, and with that expansion your not going to see all the players play for Yellow Jackets anymore, the talent will go to more local programs.

My daughter wasn't on either Thorn or KS but she played both. To be honest, I didn't think KS had the talent that Thorns team did. That was a big asset for them. They play better together. Less ego. They pass the ball and clear it well. They play girls lax the way the game is supposed to be played. Unlike Thorns team where the girls are so good each girl is a rockstar in there own right and clearly weren't coached to play as a team.

The 91 KS coach should be very proud. She built a solid team without the draw and brand name that YJ has to attract talent.

Igloo was the best 2023 team this summer. We (YJ) split with them this summer but were the better team. Blue Devils in Suffolk good as well in this age group.

KS91 split with Blue devils and also lost to igloo both 1-2 goal great games. in lax fest and lax blast.hopefully these teams will see eachother this summer

YJ is clearly better. Igloo may have peaked already. 91 and Blue Devils won't attract enough talented players to be able to compete with YJ.

Our igloo team played Jesters at Laxfest to a tie. Could have gone either way. Toughest competition we had all season. Looking forward To playing them again and beating them outright! Good all around lacrosse

KS91 forfeited their final game at Laxfest rather than play an A team and get beat. Can't believe they are in the same conversation as the strongest teams of 2023. Not what I want my daughter to be a part of... Left for another Club.

Jesters United has to be in that group too.. Played igloo, blue devils, Elevate. No losses. Didn't meet up with YJ or TG yet. Maybe next summer...

The KS91 team that was being mentioned as one of the top teams in 2023 was not the team that forfeited in Lax fest. This is the A team that lost to igloo actually by 2 in lax fest and then played again at lax blast and played a barn burner 1 goal game with igloo again.
The 91KS team that "forfeited" was the B team and was called 91KS purple and the A was 91KS orange as last year there were 2 teams. This year only one team. An A team-hope this clarifies. The 2023 bracket is an exciting one.

Yellow jackets proved to be the best again. Top Guns dominated yesterday. Elevate, Igloo, Jesters really a very distant group below those two. Too bad- it would have been interesting for them to see some competition here on LI.

Yes Wright's team dominated Thorn again 2 years in a row. Kudos to them. I'm sure CR will shake this age group up.

Second tier teams at 2023 (Elevate, Jesters, Igloo) cannot complete with the likes of YG and Top Guns. It validates their decisions to compete out of state this summer, to find more competitive games.

TG and Igloo simply the better teams. Jesters aren't in the same class

Bad showing that's an understatement. Losing 11-2 to the TG and 11-1 to Igloo Jesters were dominated.

TG and YJ are the only elite teams in 2023- its that simple. Some other teams are good, just not in the same class as these two.

Don't know how you can say igloo is 2nd class. Best competition tg had all year. Don't know why tg or yj make us travel all over when we have great competition here on the island. You learn nothing by going to jersey shore to beat a team 18-2. Why can't they just come together for a local tournament. Tg yj and igloo. Who cares who wins it would only benefit these kids to play top teams to get better. Exciting 2 games between tg and igloo yesterday. Wish every game was like that.

Going strictly by results, YG and TG get it done consistently. No other teams do. Its been that way for a long time. Many of us would love to see better competition here on LI, but it doesn't exist. We hate the NJ turnpike, but you need to go where the competition is. To boot, the two teams will continue to get stronger as the top players at second tier teams migrate over. Its a fact of club lacrosse on LI- everyone will lie to eachother and say they have no interest and arent trying out, but watch for yourself. The loyal ones always get screwed in the end.

Going to NJ may not make sense, but YJ and TG are the only one's that test themselves by coming town to MD to play the other top teams. You don't improve staying on the island. There is a reason that YJ is the only team that can compete as the girls get older. They have been playing top competition from a young age.

What teams look good in this age group? Are Top Guns and YJ the top 2 teams?

Would like to know about 89+2 Keira and Leg? Will they be any good?

YJ get it done consistently by bringing older girls down to play against tougher competition.

Last year YJ split games against igloo. Not bad for a new club.

Igloo 2023 is solid team. Kiera Strong is ok.

Leg is not good at all.
