How many current YJ from the 2nd and 3rd team are trying out elsewhere and why?

My daughter just finished her 1st year on the top YJ team and we had a great experience. We didn't know a soul and were immediatley treated like family.

Any team out there going to give M&D 2021 some competition this year?

YJ will get at least two shots next summer, looks like M&D going to National Draw and Lax for the Cure. Lost 3-5 this summer, will get them next year!!!

M&D was the ONLY team to beat the 2021 Elevate Team by a wide margin, they were a very strong team. 2021 Elevate beat the 2021 TG and Skywalker teams and lost our last game in a close playoff game to YJ by one goal. M&D was by far the best team we played this summer and it will be interesting to see how things go next year.

Usually lots of movement at the young ages in most strong clubs, 8th 9 th grade the roster changes settle down, and the teams become what they are, for now it is a battle for supremacy between players on each team and even team status amongst other clubs.

Elevate was a good team, second best on LI behind YJ in this age group, a great accomplishment. Just to complete the picture, YJ was 3-0 against Elevate this summer. Some close games but they were played as "short" 20 minute playoff games. The one full game they played was 6-1. I would get a win against these programs before you put yourself out there as being at their level. By the way, the Skywalkers team that played in that tourney was listed as 2021/2022 so I would expect you to beat them.

Agree, Skywalkers were not a strong team. The fact that Elevate lost to YJ early in tournament season by a wider margin when the team had only practiced twice together, the better and more accurate picture was the 3-2 game which took place toward the end of tournament season after the kids actually played together for several weeks.

We will look back and laugh next season.

M&D has gotten stronger as witnessed as this weekend at Prime Time Young Guns this past weekend. Couple new strong players added to what they already had, including a new goalie. Heard one of the refs say they were the best 6th grade team she had seen in 20 years of officiating.

Difference is M&D won't blow up, losing coaches and players and fizzle out.

M&D is an elite program and 2021 Black is an elite team. However, as time goes by, the talent gap closes and the team concept is challenged by recruiting pressures.

The key is not only assembling talent, but building a team that can withstand those pressures.

Who cares if some hot dog scores behing the back in 6 th grade . 90 percent of top travel team kids can shoot behind their back at that age it's just most reasonable parents tell them not to.

Actually, a behind the back shot is an effective weapon in any player's arsenal. Many of the top scorer's in top level lacrosse use that shot to score. It's part of the game. Not saying that a 6th grader needs it to prove her worth, but more power to the kid that can wield their stick at the higest of levels and it sure does not make them "hot dogs."

Have watched many of the Div 1 final 4 championships and have never seen a behind the back shot ever ! - in fact at the last PAL game i was at a couple of the girls were fooling around with the behind the back shots and were getting called for dangerous shots - so no - that shot is a show off shot nothing else

How did they do against the YJ team? YJ had about half their blue team there but M&D can only play who shows-up.

Your an idiot. Not exactly a difficult shot to make even for a 6th grader mainly because they are playing against other 6th graders. Nothing more annoying than a kid passing up a high percentage shot to run into position for the behind the back hot dog shot. Rarely a kid catches the ball running out of angle so the behind the back increases that angle which I have no problem with it.

M&D is the class of this age group. Excellent on the draw and they come up with every ground ball. This is what separates them from the rest. They always have the ball.

TG 2020 from last year was a stronger team than the M&D team this year as 6th graders.

Very impressive group at M&D, I am looking forward to the summer when both teams are at full strength. I cannot talk for M&D but several top YJ players were not at this event.

Perhaps, but that will fade to black as the team has changed significantly this off season. I hope they continue to be good but great seems like a distant memory, only time will tell.

YJ will be even stronger next year after they drop a couple weak links, like the siblings and add some of the very good new talent from the tryout.

Yes, the sad end to this story is that they will never be the best 7th grade or older team, you will always have to remember back to when they were 6th graders and the good old days.

That's ok it will be a better experience for the remaining players. Unlike most of the parents in the lax world nowadays I will be happy to see the 2020 black team play without the girls that left. Smaller roster and SS coaching them will make them better players. Remember being undefeated means nothing to the college coaches that will be recruiting the girls in three years . Ability to play in the team concept and grow as young ladies on the field and in the classroom is what they will be looking for. The good old days are gone. It was fun to watch the one dominant player take over a game all by herself! I wish her well . I look forward to watching her continue to grow as a player it will be great to see her succeed in life and lacrosse. Good old days , good memories and friendships, better days ahead for all! It's only a game and it will be over before we all know it is.

If you like the team concept in lacrosse then you were better off with SL as coach rather than SS. He promoted that concept. SS to her credit lived and thrived as an isolation player, one of the best ISO players ever. That is what she will be coaching too, great for the couple kids she deems worthy, frustrating for the rest. That being said, 2020 group of parents are the most obnoxious and annoying group ever. This isn't even your age group thread and you have to come on here and make it about you. I thought the dismantling of the 2020 black team would quite all you chest pounders down, your worse than ever. Maybe that's half the reason all the players and coach ditched the team.

Well said except SL promotes the team concept is one of the funniest things I have ever heard. TG 2020 played team concept in blowout games only otherwise it was all thru one kid. East Islip the offense has been run thru 1 kid for years and this year will be no different. 2015 TG slightly different , all offense run thru 2 kids. Not saying he does it out of anything other than necessity but team concept is laughable.

So what makes M&D 2021 so good? Never seen them play, but I assume they too have one or two outstanding players that do a bulk of their scoring. That's how it usually works at this age level.

How about thier defense? Goalkeepers?

Two evenly matched teams? If so, fun rivalry to watch in the coming years.

One thing only, they dominate the draw. Field play is on par with others maybe below other top teams. When you win nearly every draw, you are a tough team to beat.

Actually if you watched all those 2020 games, you have it backwards. The isolation player feasted relentlessly on the weak teams and struggled against the tough defense, those games were won through team play. On the HS level running plays through and to certain girls is not the same thing as isolation play. Isolation means clear out fan, get out of the way, one girl is gonna try to dodge, spin bull her way to goal, no matter double or triple team defense. Completely different than running set plays to a cutting shooter, even if it is the same shooter over and over it is still team play.

I have an idea. Now that we have declared Tog Guns 2020 the best team in the 2021 age group, why don't we move all discussion of that team to the 2020 board?

This is not the case at all. In fact, the draw is one area the team needs to improve in. Unlike many teams, they put some of their highly skilled players on defense. They stay in front of their girls and are very good at clearing the ball. I agree they are relentless on ground balls. It is not one or two girls that dominate the game. They come at you in waves and really there is no drop down when certain players come off the field.

Didn't M&D get tested by Crossfire this weekend, a team comprised of 2 towns and a few friends this weekend. I would be careful before I put them in the untouchable category.

Just reading this thread and wanted to say this...I did not see anybody say M&D was untouchable or anything close to that.

Any of these teams can, and all of them will be defeated at some point. However, that does not mean that what the prior poster stated is not true...maybe that team does have a lot of good players and maybe they are good on both ends of the field.

And as far as that goes, Yellow Jackets is well known for bringing teams to Maryland that conveniently leave behind some of the lesser players and then claiming they did not have their full team. In some cases---not saying that was the case here---they brought only who they wanted to bring and left some of the other kids home on purpose.

I have absolutely seen this in the older age groups. So, just like M&D is not untouchable (and I am SURE they are not) I also know that "two towns and some friends" can have a whole range of meanings.

The fact that you seem to express enthusiasm over somebody losing by only 5 3 or 4 goals in a short game tells me that M&D must be a pretty solid squad, even if not untouchable.

That crossfire team is not any sort of representation of YJ's best. It is true it has a few of the blue players, but also has some gold team players that are even on the bottom end of that team (mainly baggage but their crazy dads pressured so much the coach couldn't say no).

Sad part is they also ruined some other 2021's experience that are not "crossfire" girls, experiences displacing them and making them push up and play with an older team that ignored them at the tournament. No wonder they don't want to pass to certain girls during the season. The resent each other.

And this is nothing new. Inside the Yellow Jackets thread on this site there was a blow up about 2 years ago when the 2016 team pulled the same stunt at another Maryland Tournament...I just re-read it...they team was called Team Misc.

It was comprised of the top players on the 16 teams ("a couple towns and some friends") and was designed to let the "elite" show their stuff without the bottom feeders dragging them down.

I believe there are other instances as well but I lost my patience going through the thread looking for them.

Here's the thing...have you EVER heard of any other club doing this? EVER? Does wonders for team unity and those 11-12 year old girls a/k/a "teammates" that were not invited.

At 2020, first came lady rebels, some people felt left out, got off their asses and started green machine. At 2021, first came crossefire, some people felt left out.... you get the picture.

Crossfire has been playing together long before this past weekend...no clue why they played under YJ but it's the same girls for wuite some time.

M&D has not lost to YJ the two times they played so they are the champs until someone beats them. M&D can only play who shows-up so YJ nation just has to deal with it until this summer. As for the above, page 397 of the Top Guns forum started to address this long before the tourney results were finalized. The title of the entry by the YJ organization for the 2021 age group was YJ-Miller and not YJ-Blue. This was done to distinguish the top summer travel team from this combination of YJ and non-YJ players, many of which are part of the Crossfire team. No offense to the non-YJ players but this does create problems within the YJ organization as several YJ 2021 players were "stuck" with 2020 age teams and a couple of others were closed out of registration because the non-YJ players filled up the allowable roster spots. Some of these players are very good and would have added value.

This is not about the non-YJ Crossfire girls, they are innocent participants in this event. However, it negatively impacted several current YJ players and thus is being discussed critically. I agree with that criticism.

Nobody anointed a best team. Just talking about the top teams. Nothing...and I mean NOTHING...is less predictable than the collective efforts of 11 and 12 year old girls.

However, there are enough games that have been played in the last 6 months to start talking about what teams seem to playing the best. M&D and Yellow Jackets are the usual suspects. I think the discussion was intended to be, what makes those two teams so strong. One person said draw control for M&D.

Just curious what other attributes M&D and Yellow Jackets possess at 2021 that make them good teams? And by all means, if there is another team anybody wants to talk about, let's do it.

I have not seen M&D...that's why I asked the question. I know one thing, it is pretty inspiring to watch any of these top teams at this age group and see kids that age playing at a high level.

M&D is not great at draw control. It is actually one of their few weaknesses at this point. The team that gave M&D the most trouble last year was Redshirts out of Baltimore. They played 5 times and M&D was 4-0-1 against them, but that tie was the only game that M&D didn't win against 2021 competition last year. They lost 3 games all year, 2 against 2019 teams and one to Skywalkers 2020 Blue.

Crossfire is two towns that didn't have enough kids to create their own travel team a few years back so they got together and added a few kids from nearby towns to fill out a roster. The team has YJ, TG, BB and Blue Devils players on it. It's intent was to give the girls an opportunity to play in tournaments that their teams weren't entered in or, in the case of last weekend, not enough players were entered.
If anyone was watching the YJ rosters when registration for the event was closed there were only 7 2021s registered and they were added into the 2020 teams. There was no 2021 team registered. The CF coaches contact YJ, ask to pull the 4 CF kids off the YJ 2020 rosters and bring the rest of their team down.
No displacement, there was never a YJ 2021 registered. No disloyalty, if there was a full team the girls would have played for their YJ teams. No selfishness, if your kid lived in their school districts they would have been on the team.
No drama, definitely not a showcase team, just a bunch of kids that play in local tournaments outside of their travel programs when they can. This was their first trip off the island.
M&D has a very good team but give CF some credit, they were down 4 to 0, came back and road 4 to 3 into the final few minutes of play.

That is absolutely incorrect. There was well over a dozen YJ 2021 players on two different mixed rosters with 2020 players. They easily could have run an effective 2021 team with that group and other girls that were shut out of registration due to this Crossfire nonsense. If you look at the roster that attended, 15 of the girls. Have a YJ affiliation and althought they may also have a crossfire relationship, YJ could have easily run a 2021 team without the non-YJ Crossfire players. Not every player on the roster played for Crossfire before this tourney so it was not just team Crossfire. Several YJ Blue and Gold 2021 played on a 2020 team at this tourney to accommodate non-YJ Crossfire players which is absolute BS.

You can twist it however you want. The reality is, it's not a YJ team, not a TG team. Not playing politics and sucking up to CR or SS. Going in under YJ was because a number of the kids had already registered as YJ. No big deception or political plot. Just some kids/parents that are good friends and like to play lacrosse together. It has nothing to do with showing off any one kids abilities. They're just out to have fun as the game was intended.

M&D lost to MD United today at the fall uprising in maryland, so lets not call them the greatest team ever just yet

I am sure our teams will play a number of games over the years and may they all be as hard fought as this one was.

Maryland is loaded with talent at this age level and this weekend's tournament proves that point.

M&D had this game in hand and let it slip away at end losing in a braveheart. Should have milked away the last few minutes instead of trying to add to lead. MD United played tough. Personally think bravehearts are a ridiculous way to decide a championship.

What I don't get is how does CR allow TG kids to take positions away from YJ kids and how does BS allow kids to play under YJ banner . CR is losing it when she allows these wanna be coaches actually take over thee teams , now at the 2020 and 2021 ages you have daddy coaches who have zero lacrosse experience or knowledge. Both having their only claims to fame is they have managed to alienate a lot if kids on their YJ teams and TG teams because they think their kids are better than their teamates.

28 could ruin a team I have seen it on a roster of 25. The top 5 players will start to resent the bottom ten as they sit out on a double rotation due to the roster size, or the bottom 4 will quickly realize they don't belong when they don't see the field in the second half of a close game. Either way it leads to a good portion of the team being miserable.

No way there will be 28, people are posting that in desperation to keep players on the fence at other clubs.

Of course they don't move existing players down during tryouts. So here's the thing, if it looks like three girls are being added, they will move three down when they announce rosters. The top teams are more apparent as you see what is going on, the bigger guess work is on second and third teams. Say the second team had three new players with them at tryouts, add to that three moving down, now you have a potential of six kids (in this example) being moved off second to third team. It is the trickle down effect that happens in every club, every age group and every team, every year. Teams don't get better by turning away talent because you have enough players already. Honestly the kids and parents who get moved down a team should embrace it as an opportunity to become a impact player on a team more their speed rather than trying to compete over their heads, weather its to 1st, 2nd, 3rd.....team.

They absolutely do move them during tryouts. I just think in this case many of the girls moving are FandF and are signed up fo all the fall tourns so they waited.

When a kid gets moved down off blue 90% of the time the parents start to call other clubs to see if they have any open roster spots on the A teams in the other club. If they can get one of those spots they will leave rather than take the demotion .

NPYGLL Spring league started a couple weeks ago in MD. M&D dominating so far as usual but haven't played any of the other top teams yet.

From late March to early June, the girls play for their town teams (usually through 6th grade, some do 7/8th) and their schools (7th and up). Club teams start their tournaments in early to mid-June.

Is there a reason there is no spring club league on LI? There is a division for 5th through 8th grade in NPYGLL. And there are a lot of 4th grade teams in the 5th grade division. Seems like a no brainer. Girls usually stop playing rec(town) after 5th grade for the most part. Some sooner. What kind of competition are the town leagues up there?

Rec goes through 6th grade on LI. Then the girls can play LISGYLL in 7th and 8th.

They really don't get started here for good competition. Think that's why I keep hearing some girls are going down to Maryland to play those girls in a week or two.

I know some LI girls are coming down to play against the Redshirts, but other than 2021 and younger, that club has fallen apart and won't provide any competition.

Check the scores on the NPYGLL website for 2019 and 2020. 2019 was so bad last year they dropped down to the B division and 2020 lost 11 girls to another club and has gotten killed so far this year. They haven't even played a good team. Play M&D 2020 next weekend and that should be a total mismatch

There is a wide range of talent both within and among the town teams. Makes for a lot of lopsided games, especially when the leagues and/or town directors and coaches don't care enough to try to match talent - or even worse, intentionally sandbag to win games. Nassau County is much better at setting up divisions with equal talent - keeps scores, standings, etc. year to year. Suffolk doesn't seem to care.

I think they meant LI girls going to spring championship tournament. YJ teams as well as MD black, Skywalker blue etc are all in the tournament. It looks like the top pool at national draw. Should be the best and most competitive tournament of the year.

M&D is not going to National Draw at all. They decided to go to Lax for the Cure instead and they are playing in a different tournament the weekend of National Draw

Who are the LI Lady Rebels that are coming down to MD next weekend?

If any relation to the 2019/20 Lady Rebels, they are a group of YJ and TG parents/players who can not get enough from their club and/or town teams so they formed a splinter group to play in tourneys ... i had thought as part of the TG defection deal with YJ the Lady Rebels had to burn their jerseys... but maybe that only applied to the 19s and 20s. New, younger Rebel squad... it begs the question: are deals in the works for the '21s now?

The 2020 and 2021 team Lady Rebels are coming down the weekend of 4/11-4/12. Not playing in tournament, just scrimmages. M&D Parent and we were just emailed that we are playing them on 4/12

Why would girls leaving one club or another make them want to burn lady rebel jerseys? The only people who want to burn rebel jerseys would be the TG directors.

Answer to why burn the jersey: So they (Lady Rebels) won't beat the YJs anymore thus eliminating YJ competition. And in the process of the "deal" weakened the competition by taking players from the TG Black team. Masterful and effective business move by the YJ.

Wondering why a rebel discussion is even on a 2021 heading? Rebels have been around for several years and was never a 2021 deal. Are they becoming a club of their own and expanding into more age groups? Is the 2021 team all TG players?

Not the lady rebels you are thinking of ,believe this is just a select TG group .The former Lady Rebels were really just a core group of TG and YJ that lived in the same area of LI that would supplement the team with different kids for different tournaments depending on who was available etc.Politics and egos being what they are that team is essentially gone.

Yeah, they had a 2020 team down in MD for the Spring Club Championships last year. We thought they were the MD area Rebels club(who is not good). We were caught a bit off guard.

Elevate is not as strong this year. They lost s bunch of starters and replaced with lesser talent.

Have you seen this new team play? If you say yes - you are not being honest because my friends daughter is on the team and was on the team last year and said that they have some new girls that are very good - but they haven't played together enough to even know if they are better than last year. She said they may be slightly better but not enough to beat YJ who they had good games with last year. So unless you have watched them - which is highly unlikely - you don't know all the new girls that replaced the old ones. If you know one that might not be as good - that wouldn't be a good assumption for the entire new group.

TG Black will be lucky if they can beat the 2nd Yj team in this age division this year. But that is what happens when you choose teams based on politics. Right RD? So much Speculation about Crossfire, Here's the real story and you can take it or leave it, I do not care.
Crossfire Is made up of mostly BBP and ESM, there are some Top Gun girls and some Yellow Jacket girls ALSO some girls from both who do NOT play any type of travel lacrosse, We have a few other girls as well from one or two other towns who are good friends of some of the girls and do NOT play travel lacrosse at all. The ONLY reason we went to Maryland under "Yellow jackets" was because to register for the tournament each girl had to have a US Lacrosse number, since the Yellow Jacket girls have one already, we couldn't register them under a different club name. We couldn't figure out how to change that without screwing up the girls with US Lacrosse numbers, so Mark asked Carol Rose if we could use the YJ name to make it easier to register and she said yes. So saying girls were moved around or dispersed around to make room or stick it to anybody is COMPLETELY false. We all paid our own way, rented our own rooms, purchased our own uniforms. We play together when the girls are free from their respective club teams and when the non club players are free from dance and any other activities they are involved in. We do not go get anyone else when some girls are not available, we simply do not go. we Play two maybe Three tournaments a year, Mostly in fall and we did the Shamrock Shootout this year. We were asked to play against a Maryland Red shirt team coming up soon, the Maryland Red Shirt team is up to watch an NCAA game at Hofstra I think. We are trying to get it together. SO that's it, That is the Story of Crossfire. Spin it anyway you want to, create any drama you want to, Go ahead, But reading all the posts speculating every possible scenario was quite amusing though.

Need some advice for my 2021 daughter on the North Shore of Central Suffolk. She is not really happy with her playing time on the B team Yellow Jackets, and is not able to get the ball from her "clicky" and far less talented PAL teammates. Is there some kind of middle ground team/ league where she can just play competitive games this summer, get in the game, get the ball, get better,and have FUN?? Thank you!!!

I don't know what you call it, but it was a total waste of everyone's time on Sunday. If you are going to bring a team of girls down here to play M&D, TLC and Redshirts, they should be able to play. M&D beat them 22-3 and Redshirts beat them 12-0. I know TLC beat them handily, but don't know the score. All three teams had league games early that morning and stuck around up to 4 hours to play in this game against what was promised to be a very skilled team. What a waste of a beautiful Sunday. I know there are quality players on LI, just a shame we didn't get to see them.

The 2020 lady rebel played in mid atlantic championship last year and beat the field, including redshirts, had a great game in the finals with MD black, and lost on a free position shot with about 2 seconds left. Sounds like this 2021 version should stay home.

Let's just clarify that lady rebels is a continually shifting group of participants. The original group of girls that began as lady rebels play together on occasion but less often than not because of other commitments. Those originals were the ones that headed down to the mid Atlantic last year and had a great experience competing with the other Maryland teams.
Saying Lady Rebels does not mean much more than just the pinnie they are wearing so expecting it to be a certain caliber, or not, is misguided.

Have you looked at other travel clubs - TG or Elevate.

Was kind of thinking for something less competitive than TG or Elevate. Just a fun league with no trips but with girls who know how to play. But yes, we may jump the YJ ship at some point.

Need to clarify one thing, whatever team went down to MD this past weekend was not Crossfire. 95% of the girls were playing town ball Sunday. I think the original poster is mixing up this past weekends event with a fall 2014 tournament that Crossfire did attended.
When the MD team comes to LI they will see Crossfire. It should be a good game.

Look at the travel team websites and find one that stays on LI for 2021 - less competitive. Maybe 91 or the Wave?

My daughter was mived from one roster to another because the crossfire team took some of the girls originally rostered so this is not true.

Whomever you are, Your daughter was NOT moved to any roster because of crossfire!!!! The YJ girls who play for crossfire have been playing for crossfire for 2 years and NOBODY was added or removed from any team!!! So take your BS elsewhere!!

Not trying to offend you, but the first roster for that weekend posted on the website was subsequently changed and a small number of players were put with 2020's for that weekend.

Good luck with all the nut jobs on that team. No one passed to my daughter the entire year on that team, but she had the last laugh because all those ball hogs stayed down or went to third team.

You gotta learn not to bite. There is obviously some pot stirring going on. No one from crossfire has that lesser team attitude, in fact most of the girls are from 2nd and 3rd teams and/or no team or club affiliation. And to anyone who feels left out, here is some advice, find a tournament, invite some girls, pick a team name, go play and have fun. Just don't use the name cross fire, that's been done.

Some girls might have been moved to a 2020 team but that had nothing to do with the crossfire team at all! Every girl on crossfire that are YJ girls were signed up for that tournament way before it was offered to the YJ program. It was only listed on YJ site because of the registering issue with USA lacrosse numbers. So any girls being moved to 2020 was going to happen anyway as the YJ girls never intended to play with YJ in that particular event. Whomever wrote that those girls were B players was not me and trying to stir up crap! I was original poster about Crossfire and any subsequent posts will not be from me! TN

What was the US lacrosse# issue you keep writing about? When you register a team you either input all the numbers or parents do it for the kids. Why would you need YJ to roster the team? Does not make sense. Why would CR jeopardize herself and potential lawsuit if one of those "non YJ" kids got hurt? Sounds fishy.

They are a good team, anchored by several YJ blue and a few TG Black (one of which joined YJ this year). Very good team, I think someone posted that some of the players were rec players, if they have any rec players who don't play travel I would be shocked. Some girls are from the YJ 2nd team as well. Very good collection of talent, who is probably better than YJ Blue (though there is no way of telling as some of their best talent is from Yj blue).

On that note, we should consider re-naming the team to Cross-Eyed or Friendly Fire... Sorry, could not resist and just trying to lighten the mode. I suggest we move on and get YJ Blue focused on a last weekend in May trip to Maryland!!!

I will give you that 5-6 top players from the team below could replace the bottom 5-6 from the team above. It would merely be an exchange not really affecting strength of team. Crossfire tied them 9-9 yesterday. But found out today the Redshirts used the 3 best players from their 2020 team against Crossfire, with one of those 3 scoring 6 times, so not bad for a thrown together team.

That Redshirts team is a mess. Don't get too excited about a win over a middle of the road MD team. Redshirts has one girl that you have to defend. The 2020 team is 0-6 this spring so not sure how much help those girls were.

There were some good games played this weekend. Thanks to the red shirt club for coming up to LI to get some good and competitive lax games in. The spring Suffolk league is getting hard to stomach, this was a much needed shot in the arm.

So long as MD black doesn't get too excited squeaking past 2021 redshirts 12-8 two weeks ago. The red shirt team is right there with every other top Maryland club.

Score was not indicative of how the game went. That same redshirts team lost 13-4 to TLC who M&D just beat 15-9.

Last I checked, 12-8 isn't exactly squeaking by any way.

They definitely did have 2020 girls playing on the 2021 team because the coach told us he did and we were ok with it! just pointing out that we competed against a true travel team with a throw together team. If you're being honest about the crossfire game you should also mention that the red extended the game long enough for crossfire to tie it. I believe they played an extra 5 minutes or so. Redshirts were up by 3 or 4 at the actual end of the game. Funny how that got left out of the recap.

It's funny how every year all of the 5th & 6th grade parents come on here pounding their chest about meaningless games. In a couple of years you all will see that your teams win loss record means nothing to college coaches. If your program is strong and has a history of putting quality teams on the field coaches will come. I know of many "B" team players that are D1 committed. Relax and let your daughters enjoy their time playing this game. Too many parents take it too seriously. If your daughter is a player she will stand out.

The games aren't meaningless to the girls. There is quite a rivalry in MD even at the 6th grade level. Everyone is determined to beat M&D and work on things specifically to try to do so. I know that the M&D girls were quite upset about the one game they've lost. They played the team that beat them and probably played their best defensive game and held MD United to 3 goals.

While I agree that parents shouldn't be on here beating their chests, don't say the games are meaningless. As you said, these girls are in 6th grade. They aren't thinking about and don't care about college coaches. So I disagree. Maybe come 8th grade and up, the games may be meaningless, but right now, the girls all want to win. They talk trash to their friends in school. My daughters friends from other clubs constantly tell her they are going to beat her this year, etc. it's good for them. After all, the game is supposed to be a competition, not a showcase for who can get a 3k scholarship.

So I'm sitting in my car, the girl calls the time (multiple time for both halves). The crossfire coach calls it out to the ref and the Redshirt coach who acknowledges him. Maybe the coach on the far end didn't hear it, maybe they were more focused on the game but at least one coach from each team did.
It was a good game. The kids had fun. Hopefully we can see more LI MD games.

Your thrown together team has a major advantage picking the best from multiple travel clubs and limiting the amount of back end kids that a true travel team does not have the luxury of doing. Happy to see YJ coming to Mid Atlantic spring club championships this year. Are these going to actually be the YJ blue teams or is it a collection of girls from LI that plays in YJ jerseys?

All YJ Blue players, perhaps not the entire team can attend, but close to 100% participation.

Also no coach, you will have parent coaches not looking to offend anyone so you will not get play to win effort. Should be some great lacrosse none the less.

I trust coach will find the right balance. He knows these girls well, is a great coach at many other levels of the game and he will do a tremendous job.

YJ plays M&D 2021 at the Mid-Atlantic Spring Club Championships in two weeks. Plus they are both at Beach Lax in Ocean City, MD in three weeks.

They are playing the first game at the Mid-Atlantic and could play again in the finals depending on how it all falls out. They could also play at Beach Lax but that schedule is not posted yet. Are also scheduled to play already at Lax For The Cure.

Next weekend M&D 21 v. YJ Blue 21. Two great teams with great coaching and lots of great talent. May end up playing twice. This is what it is all about. It will be fun to watch these teams develop over the years have enjoy a friendly and productive rivalry!

In order to produce a rivalry there will need to be competitive games. The only game that M&D played last year was dominated by M&D and the only reason it was somewhat close was the play of the goalie in the 1st half. M&D dominated possession and controlled the entire game. The YJ's continually hung their sticks and were turning the ball over the entire game. The upcoming meeting will not be close as M&D has played together for the entire Spring and YJ have not played together as a team at all in 2015. M&D by 8 bet on it.

Interested to see how MD 2020 v YJ 2020 goes at the same tournament. YJ may have a better chance in that matchup.

As an M&D 2021 parent, I do not believe that post was from and M&D 2021 parent. While M&D dominated time of possession it was a very good game. Probably the most competitive game we had all summer. Looking forward to playing again this weekend as well as Beach Lax and Lax for the Cure.

Tough bracket at the Spring Club Championships this weekend. M&D, Yellow Jackets, BBL, FSLAX, Bitmore, CCLax all in same division. Two teams advance.

Don't forget Elevate 2021 had some good games against YJ last year.

As an M&D parent, that surprises me greatly. The M&D vs Elevate game was 10-3 and we had our 1st half goalie playing in the field the second half. Not sure M&D will play Elevate this year since we are not coming to National Draw

Tough bracket but at least two teams make it out of same pool and get a chance to meet in the finals. At National draw the final is usually a let down, often the best and most competitive games are in pool play. Its great but many times the better teams never make it out of the top pool and into the playoffs.

Props to Chris Robinson for getting this tournament off the ground. Last year it was not so good. This year it is very good. If you are a high level girls team from Maryland, you really should not have to leave the state that often in order to get great competition. Props to Yellow Jackets for making the trip. The wins and losses do not matter nearly as much as the level of competition. If M&D could play Yellow Jackets every weekend all summer---at every age level---that would be great for all the girls involved with both programs.

Along those lines, the spring program (NYPGLL League) in Maryland this spring was also great. Much improved level of competition over earlier years. Again, props to Chris Robinson for his role in taking that league from 0 to 60 in just a few years and benefitting all the girls involved.

Really looking forward to a great summer of lax for the girls. If we can just get the parents to keep it clean on the sidelines (and the forums) the girls will flourish.

Disagree about last year . It was good at least some age groups The addition of some YJ teams is great. All the top MD teams were there last year, if anything we see more weaker teams filling in the bottom brackets. That does nothing to make tournament better, just bigger and probably worse. You really want to turn it into national draw, a million teams but only a few good ones? Keep it small, select and very competitive. Sad the money making nature of these tournaments will not allow that to happen.

How'd the M&D vs YJ game go?

Was a great game, 10-8 M&D. YJ had early leads of 4-1 and 5-2 before a 6-5 halftime edge. YJ up 8-6 before M&D ran off 4 unanswered to win, took their first lead with less than 5 minutes to play. Was really impressed with how M&D hung in there as they usually do not have to play an entire game before it is decided. Was also very impressed by their motion offense, ran it perfectly, cuts from everywhere, patient feeders and they always finished. YJ was a bit unlucky, they played well and it was a great result considering it was their first game together in 2015. Hope to see a re-match tomorrow in the finals. Lastly, I thought it was a great atmosphere, parents from both sides cheered loudly for their side, but I saw interactions between the opponents before and after the game, great for the girls and the game in general when top teams can battle it out and everyone is respectful of each other afterwards.

I concur. It was a very well played game. YJ had some really athletic girls. Turning point was the M&D goalie making a save on a free position that could have made the score 9-6. Looking forward to many future tight matchups. Far prefer a game like that to the cake walks that have become quite common. Too many clubs and not enough girls to fill them

M&D parent here. Great game. Two very talented teams and some very good coaching. And yes, enthusiastic WELL BEHAVED parents on both sides.

This is how it should work. Top teams facing off against each other, playing their hearts out (at 8:00 am) and the game could easily go either way.

Could be a rematch tomorrow, but either way, we are really glad that Yellow Jackets made the trip down and let's hope the weather holds off tomorrow so that all of the girls can get as many games in as possible.

In what has quickly become a great and friendly rivalry, M&D 2021 followed up their 10-8 pool play win over YJ 2021 with a 9-8 OT thriller in the title match.

First observation is that BOTH teams are loaded with talent. Also, BOTH teams play a strong, physical game, but have the stick skills to justify it.

These are two really evenly matched teams and while M&D has had the best of it so far, these games are a coin toss.

There was some angst from the YJ parents in OT when M&D was awarded the ball on an illegal draw, and the M&D player took the awarded ball, weaved in and out of traffic (and several stick checks) and scored the game winner. The comments made were that since the draw foul was a minor foul and it was therefore and "indirect situation" that the M&D player was required to pass before a shot could be taken.

However, the rule book states the following:

"Illegal Shot (shoot from an indirect free position)
A player may not shoot from an indirect free position until the ball is passed or her crosse has been touched or checked by a defense player’s crosse or play has been stopped due to a foul by the defense."

In the game, the crosse of the M&D player had been touched/checked by YJ players and according to the women's rule manual I am seeing on line, the shot was therefore legal.

Either way, the result is not as important as the effort and the quality of play. Both these teams are better teams tonight than they were on Friday as a result of having played each other twice this weekend.

See all you Yellow Jacket parents next weekend at the beach...you are a great group of parents and your daughters are TREMENDOUS lacrosse players.

I agree with the sentiment, two great teams and hope they play asich as possible in the coming years. However, since the girls are playing under modified checking rules, your interpretation is not accurate. Read girls youth lacrosse rules form us lacrosse for high school and that section clearly states the only way the goal can be scored from an indirect free position is if the player passes the ball. Passes is actually underlined and a note made this is different fr the women's rules because of theodicies checking for U-13 and under. Goal should have been disallowed and YJ ball.

Best I can do is uslacrosse.org, rules, girls rules, high school girls lacrosse, 2015 rule book pdf, starts on page 75 for changes to high school rules for youth games and page 81 under Definition of terms you can read what is crystal clear to me and should be to any ref that calls that type of infraction in a spot like that. Better know how to administer it properly.

Seriously?? The refs also could have called any number of pushes or high checks as the girl ran down the field which aren't indirect fouls or could have given her a free position. It was a great game. It's a shame that a YJ parent had to stand up and yell across the field to no forget to thank the refs. Always a good lesson to teach kids. You didn't lose, you got screwed by the refs.

Both games were exciting well played games by girls that I am amazed are only in 6th grade. The skill that these two teams have is unbelievable for their age and there will be many more great games between them. I am sure each team will win their share.

Those are judgement calls, this is not, it is a critically important rule when playing modified checking, the penalty for a minor foul is loss of possession. Since the defense cannot check above the shoulder and get the ball back, the rule is modified to mandate a pass.

Let's be clear, no one from YJ ran on here to complain, it was an M&D parent that felt compelled to tell us we do not know the rules. Read back a few posts, you will see it. I simply pointed them to the rules that dictated that play and why it should not have been a goal. No one came on here calling for a change to the result or crying about the refs judgement calls, just pointing out the correct rule.

Unfortunately the call that gave the game away was not any part of game play, it was an offside call while the coach was positioning players for an uncertain rules of how the OT works. Ref blew whistle before draw ever happened. But hey, you see a million bad calls both ways all game long, plenty more games to play down the road. In the end, two games with great battles, Gotta give credit to M&D, they had to successfully battle back in both games, which they did with great poise. Great competition, great games, crazy talent. Looking forward to many future battles.

Good conversation but all really irrelevant. The rule book(s) is so arcane and nuanced and the officiating so inconsistent, you just deal with it and hope over 6 or 8 or 10 years it all evens out. We get caught up in the results of these games because we want the best for our girls in terms of accomplishment and credit and "respect" or whatever, but it all really means nothing.

What matters is the great competition and the behavior we as parents can model for the girls. Cheer your kids on. Be positive. Respect your opponent. And handle victory and defeat with class...and yeah, sometimes you end up eating a $hit sandwich or two along the way, but so what.

If that game ends up 9-8 one way or 9-8 the other, other then a 15 minute celebration accorded the "winners" who cares? On to next week.

I'd rather play the Yellow Jackets or M&D and lose by one on what I regard as a poor call then play another, less talented, less intense team and win by a dozen.

And in the end, the wins and losses against top teams will balance out...and then the girls will be playing with and against each other at the next level.

YJ parent here, Turns out that it was not a Faceoff circle infraction, it was called offsides on the draw, So the going straight to Goal was perfectly legal. The only issue that our coach had was that he was setting up the girls for the OT draw and the official acknowledged the fact he was doing so, then out of nowhere he blew the whistle to start the draw and immediately blew it again to call the offsides. So that's why our coach was extremely upset, but he never showed it to the girls or the M&D coaches. Great Lax all weekend M&D is extremely talented should be great games for many years to come. TN

YJ parent here and I just have to say what a great weekend for our girls. Thanks to all who were involved in making this happen from our coach to the hosts. First class operation and a great way to start the season. To our new friends from M&D let's make sure that barbecue happens this weekend . Travel safe and we will see you in Ocean City.

There is nowhere in the rules that says that a draw violation is an indirect free position. There are only 2 indirect free positions specified in the high school and youth rules. One is for minor fouls inside the 12mm. The other is if you are playing the 4 goal rule, the trailing team gets an indirect free position unless waived by the coach.

This really just sounds like a bunch of sour grapes from the YJ parents. A girl took the ball from the center X and was able to go through your whole defense and score a goal. That in no way meets the intent of the indirect free position rule. Play better defense.

Hey, one thing we can all agree on is that our girls are lucky to have the coaches they have on both of these teams. From the games they have played together you can easily see they are passionate, knowledgeable, very competitive and conduct themselves with class.

Just watching those two sides coach the girls up is a pleasure.

I am very happy with the tone of these posts. The vitriol that has been spewed on here at the 2020 age group is an embarassment. Other than the one person yelling to thank the refs, I was very impressed with the YJ parents. It was very classy to congratulate our girls after both games. They are two well coached teams with an amazing amount of talent. It is quite obvious that right now, they are far and away the best two teams at this age. Hopefully it can continue to be a healthy, respectful rivalry.

Hey, M&D parent here. As for the guy that yelled that...I heard him but did not see him SO I do not even know who it was nor do I care. He gets a pass. Everybody is allowed to let their emotions get the best of them one time when it comes to something as helpless as watching your kid compete in high level athletics. While he may still be angry about the call that he didn't like my guess is he would love to have that moment back.

We'll hash it all out this weekend over a round or two of beers. Looking forward to it!!! (and yes, there are a couple of decent taverns literally a block away from the fields).

That is the classiest thing I have ever seen on this site. Hats off to you. Those 45 girls played their butts off in 6 full length games in hot and humid weather. All the parents should be proud. There will be many days in the future where it will be our side going home sad.

2021 Skak v. 2020 Christenson...predictions?

I predict a good game.

Should be some really good games. That Catonsville team is an unknown depending on which club kids can participate. Do not know anything about the other two teams but M&D, 2 YJ teams, and Catonsville makes for some good matchups. Too bad the games are so short. That does kind of diminish this event, but on the other hand, learning to navigate these short games is something that will serve all of these teams well as they move forward and play championship format tournaments.

What is it with all the yelling coaches at this age group? Couple of the 2nd tier Maryland teams have some real screamers on the sidelines. Pure Lacrosse and Heros for instance. Calm down.

Why do parents put up with that?

Why do these tournaments always put the same teams against each other? M&D, Heros, TLC, Redshirts, Stars, etc all play each other all spring. In Lax for the Cure and Rock the Fields they have 50 or so teams yet the same teams play each other over and over.

Why? Money$$! The clubs that bring a lot of teams dictate who they play. This way they wont face competition until the playoffs or finals. Then they can say our team finished in this place at that tournament.

I'm sure M&D doesn't choose to play TLC, Heros, Skywalkers every tournament. Yet that's the way it always is. Would be nice to play some of the other 48 teams in the tournanment.

Should be a fun tournament in Ocean City, MD this weekend. Drive safe everybody! Looking forward to a few of the good matchups at 2021. I wish the games were full length games. Not enough time for the game to develop or to really test depth etc.

At the 2021 level this turned out to be a highly competitive tournament. What looked like a probably M&D 2021 v. Yellow Jacket 2021 showdown in the final turned into a free for all. Every team in the pool was solid. Of course the U13 aspect gave API, Dolphins, and Catonsville advantages as they each had older players than the 2021 age group.

What a battle it turned out to be with M&D and YJ 2021's each ending up with two ties. Meanwhile Catonsville handles 2021 YJ, 2020 YJ ties their sister team, and API ties M&D.

In the end, M&D had to beat Catonsville (who beat UJ 2021 7-2) just to get to the final. M&D won a close 7-6 decision there. Then, M&D had to play the very talented (and older) Catonsville team again in the final and despite falling behind 3-1 in the 25 minute game, M&D roared back with 4 straight goals, some great defense and some clutch saves to win 5-3.

Despite the weather and the length of the games, this turned to be a very, very competitive tournament with 6 very good teams in the bracket. Well worth the drive from LI and Baltimore.

Kudos the the M&D parents and the YJ parents for continuing to make their rivalry spirited but friendly. Great group of parents on both sides.

I wasn't at that tournament, but I for one think the re-cap of the tournament post was good and appropriate for this forum. It gave everyone an idea of what went on, was written in a non-subjective form. To tell someone to go live their life, because they are posting on a lax forum w/ accurate details, makes one think that you need to look at yourself for what you are posting, and maybe you need to "go live your life".

In seriousness, it was a tough weekend. The short games made it tough and the fact the YJ and M&D 2021 were the two youngest teams presented a challenge that I'm not sure either were expecting. The heart that the M&D girls showed in beating an older team that hadn't lost all year twice in two hours was amazing. As you all know, typically tournaments consist of a bunch of blow outs with a couple tough games. This weekend they were all tough. I thought all the U13A teams really played well and made for a fun, tense weekend.

Pretty sure the recap wasn't written by a YJ parent. Do you really think they stuck around to watch the finals?

Saw TG 2021 black went 2-2 this weekend and the strong teams weren't even at the tournament. Thought they would be stronger this summer.

The only team that did anything for Top Guns this weekend was their white team in this age. Maybe they need to hold tryouts again and properly distribute the talent.

You do understand the white team plays the weakest bracket? Put those girls in the bracket the upper teams play and the get destroyed. You are trying to compare wins and losses from division play and relate it to misplaced talent, it doesn't work that way.

I agree that there is misplaced talent on all of the teams. It is unfortunate that there is only a very limited number of spots for new players at try outs for the black and purple teams, the majority are already taken by those who have connections, well before try outs even take place.

Are you under the impression that this only occurs at top guns? There is always friends and family on all the teams. There are 23 girls or so on a team. In close games maybe 15 play. It really doesn't matter who make up the other 8 roster spots.

YJ. What tournament did M&D play this weekend? We should align more tournaments, really missed playing them this weekend.

YJ 5-1 in a 20 minute game. Not trying to be rude, but after all the "almost" comments from last year, this was not competitive this go around. Best of luck to Elevate, they improved throughout the year in 2014 so hopefully that happens as we enjoyed the competition.

Elevate lost some talent this year. They are probably compare able to YJ B right now but it's early.

So now the discussion is who gets the nod for the second spot, elevate, TGs, YJ yellow, title nine, liberty, blue devil (or something), legacy, 91, beach bums, fl$, wave, express?????

Well, I think the changing of tournament participation is a kind of natural phenomenon and has to do with the life cycle of the tournament scene as new tournaments rise and old ones fall. Also, I think there are a lot of trade offs and "political" motivations behind which tournaments organizations choose to participate in.

Finally, the quality and number of teams going to the National Draw has been slipping the past few years and it looks like it got to a tipping point of sorts as far as M&D is concerned.

Also look at the list of college coaches attending, this tournament has certainly slipped heavily on that front too! Too big and competition too watered down.

I would rather lose to M&D every week than drive to NJ and play so many weak teams. 2021 YJ Blue won 13-3, 13-0, 13-0, 6-0, 5-1, the last two being twenty minute playoff games. Our growing rivalry with M&D has so far been so much more competitive for all girls involved. Both teams are also developing a growing respect for each other, as are the parents. I wish we could align ourselves to play them at every tournament. Since we are getting older we have noticed the Maryland tournaments are run so much better and competition is so much stronger. It will only make our girls better. Hoping to see them at the Prime time summer slam at Goucher college.

I do agree based on results M&D still top dog. If you were at the three games against YJ this year I think you would be hard pressed not to say these games were highly competitive and could have gone either way (1 goal OT win, two goal win and a tie in a shortened game). I think it is Elevate or YJ Yellow. All of the other "top" teams like Liberty and TG find a way to never play YJ Blue. Based on schedule, Liberty 2021 not going to Babylon Lax Blast. TG Black at National Draw and for second year in the same bracket as YJ Blue and not playing each other in prelims ensuring they will not play each other, sad... I give Elevate a lot of credit as they will potentially play YJ Blue in three straight tournaments.

elevate didn't play in the same division as yj ...they avoided playing them ..beat very weak teams then faced yj in playoffs and got crushed ...2021 yj are by far best team on long island and other club directors know it ...

YJ and M&D 2021 are two very equal teams. So far our girls have gotten the best by a goal here or a goal there but there is not a parent on either team that does not recognize those are two very equal teams.

YJ 2021 Skak are not totally clean. The "defend" by diggin the butts of their sticks into the lower back and hips of their opponent. This is taught in their practice so that isn't clean.
But there is no doubting their talent.

I agree with this. Very talented team and the parents have been great, but all YJ players butt end attackers. Technique taught to every YJ team.

They are actually taught to keep forearm contact but what often happens is they either over extend to make the contact, the offensive player feels the initial contact and creates separation causing the defensive player to attempt to maintain the contact (again over extending) or in an attempt to keep proper stick head angle (out of the sphere) they rotate their lower hand forward and loose proper forearm contact.
It's not intentional, they are learning to play a tight defense. The coaches never say put your butt end into someone's side.

Rock The Fields is where YJ should be this weekend. The quality of teams is far superior to National Draw.

YJ 2021 squeaked out a one goal win over Elevate 2021 at National Draw again so it doesn't look like YJ is the powerhouse they brag to be in that age group.

Elevate 0-5 against YJ and counting... Although today got close towards the end, YJ never trailed.

Another close elevate YJ game today. Looking forward to a rematch. Should play more on LI good competition.

YJ Skak Beat the YG Purple Team in the finals 6-0 not the Black team. Elevate Lost to the TG Black team not their 2nd team. TG has their talent mixed up throughout their 3 teams, and there isn't much separating the 3 teams, maybe a goal or two at most.

Not sure what game you watched or where you received your info from but 2020 Curcio did not "crush" TG 2020 Black in the finals! The score was 3-2 NOT 6-0

ND Website reports that the 2020 finals score was 6-0, in favor of Curcio. Perhaps they mistakenly put the 2021 final score in for 2020 as well.

Black was the #2 team in the A pool, but also the only team that didn't play YJ. Playoffs were a joke - B and C pool winners played each other and A got a bye. Purple was only the #2 overall because they won the B pool, and barely beat C winner 5-4 in playoff. Would have been better games, and more representative, if A's played each other again.

Both elevate losses to both TG Black and YJ Skak were one goal games. Did TG Black and Skak play?

Maybe the teams in the other pools shouldn't make the playoffs at all huh? Heck - forget the playoffs. They shouldn't even play at all.

The finals were 20 minute games, everyone knows the pool play is more important in these tournaments.

If I do recall, teams get a little more spread out in pool play at ND when they get into the older divisions. Thus having a fairer reprisentative of finalists. For the younger ones they flight them so not to have blow outs in pool play (where the games are longer and help develop girls more than a 20 minute playoff game).

Congratulation to the YJ 2020 Jones team went 4-0 at ND. great game against a tough Elevate team. Too bad they didnt advanceas they lost the tie breaker to TG Black.

why yes, yesterday. Another fantastic game between two great teams. Cannot say enough good things about 2021 M&D team and parents, has been a great experience this summer.

So I watched for this all weekend and frankly is not an issue. This team plays tough but rarely see a hard foul. Went six games against some tough competition this weekend without a single card, opponents had several...

A re-match would have been great today, but with all due respect, you have to get out of pool play. We will have to wait until next summer, no more like tourneys this year. Best of luck for the remainder of the season.

Hero's had good showings in 2020, 2019 and 2018 - what happened in 2021? Was it just because they were in the same pool with M&D and YJ Blue? That looks like a tough pool to get out of.

It was the pool, any othee grouping and they make it. They tied M&D and was leading at half against YJ.

As has been said, M&D and YJ are by far heads and shoulders above everyone else. M&D struggled a bit this weekend because they were missing 3 starters, one of which being their best player. A shame there will be no more matchups this year.

Based on what? M&D beat them 11-3 last year and they have never beaten YJ. They lost to TLC who is a middle of the pack MD team at this age

One of the TLC goalies made 5 or 6 really great saves during that Elevate loss.

Whatever. The Hero's goalie probably made 20 saves in the 3-3 M&D tie. M&D outshot them about 25-5. A loss is a loss

Elevate is a decent team and some day will get a win over a team worth mentioning. Hope you can handle it with grace because right now you are far from grace even in losing. All the woulda, coulda, shoulda posts.... Heaven help us all if you actually win a game.

Easy with the "middle of the pack" comment. TLC has beaten Heroes and MD United this year and dealt with a coaching change mid-season. You beat M&D once, when they were down several good players. Back that one win out and you and TLC have the same thing in common, you can't beat M&D.

No dog in this fight but not knowing any of the teams involved I looked at this weekends results and a team that goes 2-2 in a lower bracket seems like a middle of the pack team to me , at least on this weekend.

YJ 2021 Beat M&D today that ended in a Braveheart. These two teams are far and above the best 2021 teams out there. All the negative posts are just trollers looking to stir up crap. Congratulations to both teams on a great game. Elevate needs to win something, anything of substance to even be in this discussion.

The only ones including elevate in the discussion are the elevate parents. They got that win against TG summer 2014, ain't that enough?

It is a fair question considering the chatter from that side in the past. I do give Elevate a tremendous amount of credit for placing this team in the most competitive opportunities possible. They played YJ Skak several times each of the past two years. TG and Liberty avoid YJ 2021 as much as possible. In fact, TG Black had never played them. Good for Elevate for playing tough competition. YJ still smiling though...

What a bunch of really ignorant, bash YJ at all costs dopes you are. They are no YJ personnel at this camp, all substituting decisions are being made by college coaches that are rotating amongst all of the teams at the camp. Next...

Lots of good teams at this camp, great opportunity for all the girls from all different teams. They are having a blast on and off the field.

Let's be honest both M&D and YJ , as well as all of the top teams will shorten the bench in the most competitive games. That being said all of the teams at Towson were coached by College coaches for their games and everyone played evenly. You can draw your own conclusions .

The conclusion I draw is that it seems no matter who is coaching them (their own coach or college coaches), or under what format the game is played (short game, long game, tournament game, camp game, Sudden Death Game, Braveheart Game), M&D and YJ 2021 are two very evenly matched teams. M&D has won three games by 2 goals (twice), and one goal. Yellow Jackets have won two games by 1 goal each, and the teams have tied one time.

All girls played evenly, unless you were there please be quiet and stop stirring the pot. All the girls had a great time these past few days, M&D 2021 is a class act, demonstrated extremely well by their girls and parents, YJ 2021 girls and parents are a class act demonstrated by their girls and parents. No one can say otherwise, because if you were there you would have experienced the same. I know people troll around here trying to stir the pot, but both teams are super competitive on the field and great people off the field. I had no Dog in the fight but attended every game these past few days and that was high level lacrosse!!

How do you know they didn't request to play up? They are playing up the following week in Delaware. It also looks like the next age group might be mix of 2019 & 2020 teams. At this point it's not hard to figure out that my daughter plays for YJ's 2021. Where does your daughter play? Would your daughters team be the roadblock on the way to the championship?

Not bitter at all, I just can't for the life of me understand why you are concerned about a team your daughter doesn't play for. As for playing time all of the girls are talented having said that mine is not lacking for playing time. Thanks for asking and enjoy the rest of your summer! She's a YJ but not as talented (or as politically connected ie:B.B.P.) as your daughter I guess. But maybe that's a good thing, at least I don't have to share the sidelines with the likes of you.

I believe the original post was in reference to LAX Blast two weekends ago. They won out 16 2, 9 3, 15 0 and 14 3 in the finals. As for them playing up with the 2020s at All Start Express this past weekend, scores aren't posted but they didn't loose a game. Hopefully that addresses the previous posters concerns.

With this summers games winding down I asked my daughter what her fondest memory was. Without hesitation it was going to Towson College, playing against and making friends with the girls from M&D. In my mind that's the way it should be and money well spent.

Fortunately, our season ended last weekend. My daughter enjoyed hanging out with the YJ girls as well. For the money, it was by far the best camp experience any of my kids have been to.
