it isnt the email that is traceable. it is the ip address. but some are smart enough to ghost the static ips. or if dynamic it is a range which isnt traceable.

This is a reply from the other thread. My son is on the outlaws and is on the 2019 Black, A team. Which won a few tournaments last year. The fees 1st off are not bad, it is for a full year of leagues, practices and tournaments.

Now as far as the college kid that was hungover all the time. It might have been true that he drank the night before but I never saw it affect anything. If it did maybe that's why the directors let him go! They let him go because they did not approve.

Also there were a few people that left the team, and now have left a second team. Usually in that case the problem is with the parents. I believe the director of LI and those parents are actually friendly, shows how much you guys know about the topic.

The team this year is improved and has great coaches.

Hey Bro, Out of respect to the teams we played I dont find it necessary to boast about what our team did or didnt do. We played teams from Conn. New Jersey and Westchester. We did not play any town teams. We can only play who and where we are told to play. I was pleased with the way the team played. We have many new players and had few practices. I think you should figure out how to help our neighbors and friends through these tough times instead of worrying about a tournament that happened weeks ago.

Hey Bro, Out of respect to the teams we played I dont think it is necessary to carry on about how well we did or didnt do. We played teams from Conn. New Jersey and Westchester. We won all the games we played. We didnt play any "Town" teams. We added many new players to the team this year so its hard to say what level the play was. Considering that many people on Long Island are still without power I dont think that you should dwell on the competition level of a tournament that was two weeks ago.

Doesn't need to be... What purpose would it serve... They have class

I'll say this, they were hands down the best 2019 team there. The question of the grade was who was playing for 2nd (& who would end up 3rd/4th) best one that given day.

Who's going to Yale?

How do you know what I did or didnt do for my neighbors during the storm, BRO (emphasis added)? What does this thread have to do with that anyway? Oh, you are so noble because you typed in the words Stay Safe in your post. I'm sure that saved a lot of lives. Dont get me wrong, it was a thoughtful thing to say, but dont act like your post was directly responsible for saving lives and that I worked my weather machine and sent the storm toward Long Island. Nice try at association though - and you still haven't answered the question. Oh, yeah, and because you are so noble you dont want to insult the other teams by saying they were weak. You dont have to insult anyone just dont answer the post at all if you are worried - or be politefully honest. And you did boast, BRO. Look, you won some meaningless fall tournament and thats it for you end of discussion right? well its a public forum and I am interested in knowing who the mighty Express beat ok? Dont deflect the topic by insinuating I am uncaring about the hardships associated with Sandy - actually, by doing so, you answered the question anyway

I think someone may have mixed up or skipped their meds.

In reading this, I am quite sure any response "Bro" would have offered would have been met by a condescending response anyway.

wow, thats a heavy guilt trip. Seemed like a legitimate observation to me too but yeah, it really isnt that important on the grand scheme of things like life and death. Competition at tournaments is not an uncommon theme on this site though so lighten up a little. If you are going to post that you are champions, expect someone to ask who you played. You managed to do it in your second post without insulting anyone. Dont know what this has to do with a storm either. BTW, my son played for a town team and we beat a couple "elite" teams at tournaments. Who are the Wolverines? When did that start?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
The schedule for the tournament is probably still posted on their web site. I forget but I think they played 3 tribe. Some team top side and maybe patriot. None of the games were close. This express team is real good . It's not that those other teams were weak.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
O K now that you got your answers a few posts down about who the "Mighty Express" (your words) played now can we let it go and just move on. I promise to tell you the teams we beat or lose to if you promise to be a gentleman about it and not trash the teams we beat or trash us when we lose. Lets be honest there are several teams on Long Island at this age that are real close and on any given day can beat each other. Relax they are in 6th grade. Speak to you soon thanks Bro

I am not hatin' (it is great a town team beat a travel team) but have we lost sight of the word elite or rather over used it. You may have beat travel teams, but you didnt beat any elite teams (although one team may have had the word elite in it).

now what i would be interested in was how the other town teams did. northport, manhasset, Team smithtown??, north shore??, 3 tribes??

I do have to say it was nice to see 3 out of state teams as well as 5 NYC/Westchester teams during the fall. Im looking forward to the spring with the growth of the sport and teams traveling to play.

This is a good start. It could be run similar to the BLC Young Guns tournament. Better yet, the easiest way to get this done and make sure all teams are abiding by all rules, is to have the NPYLL expand to PA, NJ, NY, MA, CT.... This way all teams would conform to their (NPYLL) rules and regulations. This would ensure a level playing field across the board. Our kids are only in sixth grade. This would benefit them immensely by the time they are Juniors and Seniors in High School...

By fashioning something similar to the NPYLL, it then wouldn't be about who is the best but ensuring the kids are playing against top competition each and every time they step on the field. At the end of the day, it is about our kids correct? Not about an organization thumping it's chest.

I hope you understand that at the end of the day, I'm not about one organization over another. I'm about the kids playing against quality competition. Always being tested against the best.

Last time I checked 91 Crush was a 2020 team. I think they would beat some of the teams but I think they would be in over their heads with a bunch of other teams. Its very tough to play up against another true A team.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
i thought it was about playing your level or a step above.

It is not about the wins and loses but the quailty games. Seeing and experiencing what the better teams do and how they do it.

It is okay to lose and take some lumps along the way as long as it is in a safe environment

I am fully aware of the 91 crush team and their grade & ages; including their ability. I also think there are a few teams on here that are in the grade & age group that would have a tougher time than Crush, real question is why did you write what you did, you couldnt possibly think they would not benefit from this format. Did you?

That said, if this model works, i could see a 2019 91 orange or 2019 wolverines playing 2018 if that level would do the same.

Can a kid play on more then one team?????
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Great question?

I would say yes, but with an interesting twist where as no (field) player should be able to play back to back games.

This would ensure each team would get a break if they had two games scheduled on a day and/or a borrowed or roostered player (for his saftey) would not play back to back.

(but I could see if a team needed a player they could pull a player that just played) to prevent that from reoccuring constantly on a particular team you could impose a 2 minute non releasble penalty to prevent that from reoccuring

Wow, you have to love being part of a league where information regarding the league is shared openly. It's not like that over in the Sayville league. Our team will definitely weigh the options for next year when its time to sign up dir a winter league.

Islip and Sayville? What happened to West Islip and Bay Shore? Would have thought they were in the mix.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Bayshore Maroon is definitely at the top of the pack too. I don't think W.Islip's top team is playing in the league. Bellport's 6th grade team looked good. I watched them play Riverhead and they gave them a good run.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Any of those teams undefeated? So this league changes the schedule so the better teams play each other, how cool of an idea is that. I know there is no championship in many winter formats as winter is usually to get better and work on skills but if the teams were reranked after 4 games, then the better teams should be playing against each other and the players are all winners for getting beter leading into spring.

anyone have to deal with this? the school program is putting together a u13 summer team this year.the coaches are holding open tryouts.the 6th grade boys are not invited to the tryouts.the team will be filled with 7/8 grade boys.regardless of age.coaches say 6th grade boys are not ready to play at u13 since all teams dont follow age rules so he will be filling a team with boys who are u15 age. many of the 6th grade already play on u13 travel.they would like the chance to play for school but cant. next year when they can tryout they will be on a u13 team with u15 boys. do all schools do it this way?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
I think it makes sense since 6th graders can't play in middle school. There is a huge difference between 6th and 8th graders physically. However, I see your point on the U13/U15 thing. Having two teams grade based would make more sense, but I don't know if you have enough players to do that. Of course, exceptional 7th graders should be allowed to play on the 8th grade team if they are able. Since it ;is outside of school play, I don't see why a talented 6th grader couldn't play on a 7th grade team.

I believe my town is putting together a summer team for current 6th and 7th graders to play. But the full plans have yet to be sent to the parents. So I guess our 6/7 will be playing you 7/8.

No , most schools follow the rules, for a coach to openly tell you that he plans on playing 8th graders on a u13team is sad. My sons team is made up of all 6th graders and for them have to play against 8th graders is dangerous and should not be allowed under any circumstance. The honest 6th grade teams have a hard enough time in u13 against 7th graders but to force them to play against kidso 2 1/2 years older seems weird. The parents of those 8th graders need to reign in this coach and let him know that sanctioned cheating is not the lesson he should be teaching the athletes in his care. Rising JV players should never face pre middle school players.

Bay Shore White lost to Connetquot. About 7-3, thanks to the 2-pass rule, no faceoffs, and Connetquot swapping attack & defense for the 2nd half.

Yes The Express is going to Lax Fest. And yes it is great that they will play in the same tournaments and possibly face each other.

I heard some good Bay shore kids left to WI? I know the coaching is poor there but they may be ok.

Sad day on the south shore if this is really happening but I am not sure which town you're refering to as poor coaches, they both have good quality coaches and men. And who will be ok the kids leaving or the team they are rumored to leave or join.

The two towns have always played good games against each other for years. As recent as last spring, where west islip beat bay shore by 1 or 2 (in I might add a controversial win).

But you say they may be okay, I feel you couldnt be more off base, neither team will be okay. Neither community will be the same at this age. The snowball effect will hit both sides, both will be asking why and looking over thier shoulder asking what or who is next.

Who i really feel bad for is that kid who didnt make the town PAL team because of an out of town player joining during the last year of PAL play. Very sad.

As a WI parent I know NO kid was cut from the team. The 2 BS kids were added to the A team based on their talent. Ive seen them at practices and they can really play. BS and WI have a strong relationship (at least in this age group). We did a fall team together last year and are doing more tournaments together we were told. Sorry you have issues on your side. Not sure what you meant by contraversial win?? Weve had many good games in the past I think that will change now.

Noone was cut nor was playing time decreased, but ask many of the parents from 91 w from WI if they are happy about it.

No matter how you spin it, it is wrong recruiting players. But don't worry Nassau PAL doesn't care so you'll get away with it.

I guess you don't remember the goal bay shore shot on was a galvanized steel cage with metal fencing as the net. Then I would also guess you don't remember the 3 goals that went in but hit an inside pipe and bounced right out, due to steel cage and were not counted. 1 to 2 of them being from one of the players playing with you now. So yeah, if they did play against each other the games might not be close, but then again I doubt they will ever play against each other again because for a good relationship to occur you need to have respect, something that has been lost.

Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
I dont think there is a lack of respect between towns. I know we have a great respect for our neighbors. We dont recruit in PAL but we also dont refuse a kid wanting to play. As far as the steel caged lax game, I was not there but I can see it has had a profound effect on you. And lets not get into the 91 w parents. I live with them, they were pissed off long before any kid came here. Are all of your parents happy with their situation over there? Im guessing NO. You need to check with your parents why these boys left. Probably didnt get respect there and they walked. Cant blame them....
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -

Our town told us that it was against Nassau PAL rules for a boy from another school district to play in our PAL if that town had a PAL program. Beyond that, we were told that the rosters would be scrutinized this year and players would not be able to play in games.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
I am not sure if Nassau only checks if the town the boy came from has a PAL team in Nassau. One plays Nassau the other Suffolk. The interesting part here is the two teams are very good teams.

Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
All you have to do is list an address for the kid in the town he is playing. I know our PAL team did it for a few out-of-towners. I have witnessed this in the town you speak of. Unfortunately, some coaches have no problem with this. At the same time, maybe PAL should allow maybe two out of town players per team. There are parents who get sick of some of the nonsense in their town's program and just want their kid to play somewhere. If it is just to stack a team with better players then isn't that what club is for ? If it was above board and PAL is informed, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
The kids who left Bay Shore had their reasons and did not leave to play on a "stacked" WI team. If it were only about winning or playing time they probably would have stayed as this Bay Shore team has only lost 1 or 2 games over the last few years playing in a weak Suffolk PAL division and these kids never came off the field (but that is another issue). The fact is a lot of the kids are not exactly excited playing on this team and almost all parents have expressed frustration at the lack of development, & playing time issues. The only options are to continue to suffer through or try to find another opportunity outside of Bay Shore because the powers that be in BS PAL will not change anything over there. Good kids leave the program all the time on all levels in BS, it is a program wide issue and nothing new, these kids are just the latest and unfortunately probably not the last.

So sad!

If this response and the previous post regarding a sad day on the south shore were written by a Bay Shore parent or coach with the "A" team which apparently just lost 2 players, I, as a BS parent who is not part of the great "A" team, would like to point out your extreme hypocrisy. You feel bad for the boys who didn't make their town teams, and the communities, but do not mention how you secretly orchestrated to make your "A" team and tournament teams without giving every boy in BS an opportunity. Was that good for the BS community and the "B" kids? Did you ever feel bad for them? As far as recruiting and controversial wins go, why don't you mention how you often recruit that player from Islip to play with you at the expense of other BS boys who might like or deserve an opportunity; funny how his assists and goals and those wins aren't controversial. Nothing made you sad when you benefitted but now you claim to be so sad about so many things you are guilty of yourself, and you want sympathy, to judge others and pretend to be above it all, please! As for respect, I'm not sure you deserve any.

Yes always felt bad for them for many reasons
Still the best thing that happened
They were the first BS team to split by ability
Should have been done sooner look at what the future BS teams are doing
Younger players should've also been given opportunities
Finally 3 boys playing from one team to the other
Did coach of the developing team block player from moving to other team
Islip player never played PAL.

Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Riverhead is still undefeated. Had a tough game against Comesowogue last night. Riverhead won 15-14 without three starters...

I don't think the sea devils would be able to play because it's supposed to be a "town" league. Although a few of the towns are bringing kids from all over....

I haven't seen the spartans play...

Riverhead is going to be really tough to beat. Bellport is still doing well only one loss and that was to Riverhead. They played again last night before our game and beat up W.Islip pretty good. Islip is still very strong. I haven't seen Sayville play but they are always good.

Good game. Not an Express team. Kids from many different clubs that are all in 5th grade.

All express helmets except for the face off kid. Guess you'll bring the seventh graders next week.

Of course you watched that game, you're a parent on that team. Exactly what I'm talking about, when you play again next week I'm sure you'll have 7th grade Express players so you don't lose again. Is that the standard answer from Express parents when you lose to a town team, that you're a younger team? If that's the case stop complaining and play in the Grade you're supposed to. No need for excuses, moving them up a grade level is your own doing. I'm sure that huge defenseman and a few of the other big kids on that team were 5th graders.......
It was a good game either way with great players on both teams. You have a good team, stop making excuses, you're making them look bad.

I am not sure why there needs to be trash talk, I caught the 2nd half of the game and it was probably the most competitive game I have seen at the hub so far. My younger son played after but my buddy kid played for the SeaDevils last season at Cantiague. I have watched a bunch of the games in the past. They are ALL 5th grade kids, about 3-4 town teams with Express/91 players as well. They have always played up and have been playing togehter for about 3-4yrs.
If you are playing again next week please post time and date cause I want to watch. Good luck SeaDevils!
Only one match in the Sixth Grade boys bracket on February 23rd at the Long Island Sports Hub.

Syosset edges Sea Devils, 13-12

On closing day, March 2nd, the undefeated Syosset team will go against the second place Sea Devils. While Syosset has the division crown locked-up, this is a chance for the Sea Devils to spoil the undefeated and untied indoor season for Syosset. This figures to be a good match with the faceoff at 2:00pm.

Standings

The real score was13-10 hub got it wrong and if you were really there watching "buddy kid" you would know that. Good Luck Syosset! More importantly, its winter lax, let the kids have fun. No need for trash talk on your end.

Score listed is incorrect. Correct score was Syosset 13, Sea Devils 10
Looks like the Hub mixed up the scores of the Syosset 7th grade vs. Northport Tigers with the Syosset 6th vs. Sea Devils game. That score was Syosset 13, Northport Tigers 12.

ok enough of that, now onto, who is going to shamrock? It is 3 weeks away. Whose practicing? An early tournament that can show where the teams need to be. The teams who have played indoor together will look good, but yes outdoor is different.

who cares, by the sound of it it was a good game. Do you really want to play Express' top 2019 team, be happy it was a good game. There are plenty of times players/parents show up for winter games and it is a joke. Then afterwards the winners pump their chest, for what beating a less skilled team, IMHO their is nothing more foolish than that. Be happy you're getting a good game for the kids sake.

BTW, a good town team should be a B or younger travel team. isnt that what you work for. (crush might be the exception but just for another year).

Shame to all involved if Outlaws showed up and didnt have a game?

It is times like this that the director should call coaches of teams involved (in that grade) and see which of their players are interested for a free pickup game (regardless of team affiliation) to see if they are available to play. Start with a goalie and so on and you may be pleasently surprised at the team that gets fielded.

If your child is now in sixth grade, he/she would be a Class of 2019 student. Sixth graders are generally U/12 players for your reference.

It was express's second game and the DD first, not to make excuses. also Express was missing there top player. Not that it would of made a huge difference but probably would of been a little closer than 10 goals. Or whatever it was I lost count. Both teams are very good but I see the big difference is in the coaching. A current college coach vs a coach who played the games years ago. DD were able to adjust a lot quicker to different scenarios within the game. DD very good all around from offense to defense. I thought we would of been able to score more I knew their defense was good but not great since they always beat teams by 10 or more goals and there defense is never tested, but I was wrong my hat goes off to their 5 or 6 defenseman, only one D guy who was out there and got burnt for the first two goals, but then was taken off the filed and was getting constructive critisim by the coach which was good to see. The others are solid. I see both teams getting better towards the summer. Having said all that it was nice to see the two teams play good competition isnt that what everone wants win or lose. Hopefully we can get the other Long Island teams to play each oher it only makes all the kids better. Good job to the people who set it up. Hope to see more of everyone.

Well said ,as an Express parent I have not seen the Dawgs play. I enjoyed watching them play even though we were on the losing end. You could definitely see the difference between a team that added 8 new players ( most have not practiced much if at all ) and a team that has been together for a few years. ( correct me if I am wrong ). I look forward to a few more games against each other. Once again well done Dawgs you took it to us on Saturday. Do you go to Tri State ? Are there any tournaments this summer we will both be at ? Would love to have Express, 91 , True Blue and the Dawgs at the same tournament.

"well said" really? The coaches get thrown under the bus, and a 12 yr old kid gets named - outright. And you say well said? ~Good grief~

BOTC Moderators have removed the direct reference to the player based on your post.

As an Express parent, I can confidently say that AB and his assistants are doing a tremendous job with the Orange boys: positive teaching, great instruction, fair playtime, and most importantly, fun!
Can we please stop with all the b.s about wins and loses and building a Turtles-type team for 11yr olds? Our kids are doing just fine; they win a lot and lose ocassionally but act graciously regardless of the outcome, a true testament to great coaching.

There are many good teams at the 6th grade level. Any one team could beat each other. But parents get very competitive about it because they want their kid to be known he is on the best team. That being said. 91 orange and dune dawgs are probably neck and neck the best teams at 6th grade level. Then Express wolverines. Then from there im not sure. True blue 91 white fl$ smithtown travel ny all greys. Am i wrong? Team long island jesters i guess are in there too.

If you think that post was throwing the coaches under the bus, then you must of rode the little yellow one to school. It is a mere fact that at this level all the kids are good players and what seperates them is the coaching. No one said expresses coaches are bad all that was said is that the DD have a current college coach who can adjust quicker to different situations which gives them the edge. It is the same in any sport professional or amateur, some coaches are better then others but they are all good. End of story.

I agree!! The nonsense has to STOP!!!Calling out an 11 year boy by name is just wrong!!! I WOULD LIKE THANK BACK OF THE CAGE FOR TAKING THAT BOYS NAME DOWN!!! AB,BG,&RK do a great job with the EXPRESS boys!!! The problem here is not the kids, it's the parents!!! The kids see each other in school and get along just fine! What ever has happened in the past between the parents of these 2 teams needs to be done with!!!! With all this craziness going on in the world( Newtown and now what happened in Boston) shouldn't we all realize just how lucky we are!!!!!! GOD FORBID,Put yourself in those parents shoes just for 1 day , and I guarantee you will look at life in a different manner!!! AND AGAIN PLEASE STOP THE NONSENSE!!!!

Thank you Phil. Well said sir. Not on either of these teams but witness similar nonsense with other teams. I just cut your and pasted your post into an email to few of my friends who can benefit from it.

The fact a boys name was mentioned was completely wrong, but to mention the coaches (as "coaches" not by name or initials) should be fair game.

The comment stated that they thought because of one team coaches current involvement in college Lacrosse you noticed who reacted to the game situation.

Many people on here want to know what separates the teams, as has been said the boys may have similar abilities and practices and coaching can be the difference in a game and from the comment that was evident in this past game to that poster.

DD may have a few extra people at their tryouts

End of story?....not so fast. Putting aside your not-so-suttle inferrence that because we disagree I am mentally handi-capped, the bottom line is that the original poster (who may even be you trying to do damage control)did throw the coaches under the bus (not to mention specifically naming a boy). I would love to know if those coaches would tend to agree with me if they read that - I suspect they would. I know the original post is poorly written and a little confusing but if you follow it, it appears to have been written by someone affiliated with that Express team. Especially when he uses the word "we" in the context in which it is used. Its just one loss, hold it together and dont play the blame game. Lick your wounds and get back to work. The DD are a great team and were the better team THAT DAY - get over it and move on to the next game. Every game is another shot at redemption and thats what is great about sports. Now..End Of Story

Obviously the original post was only confusing to you, everyone who read it or commented on it completely understood it. No one can understand what team you are from, if I say it was a good game and yes I am from the express I am just commenting what the difference was between both teams. I also complimented each team and the coaches but obviously someone wins and someone loses and I see the coaches as the reason and again they are all good coaches but something has to separate them. You sound like you really don’t understand the previous posts (obviously a non athlete your whole life) but it's ok and yes there will be other games but for the last time both teams are good as well as the coaches, but the DD coach is a current college coach and therefore the DD have the advantage right now. Do you understand now!
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Thats sounds about right. After those two I'd say it's probably True Blue A, 91 White & Smithtown A. I think the ALL Grey's might be having some issues so I may not include them in that equation.

Im sure the coaches are glad to have you on their sideline watching their backs! And im sure you have already told them how you feel, of course. The original post i was referring to as confusing was the one in which a specific boy was insulted and named, so if that was you, then shame on you just for that. But if it wasnt you, then I dont understand what your problem is. In my opinion you should defend your Team, and that includes coaches (except Sandusky and Rice of course). Isnt that what teams do? Dont try to undo what is done by insulting my intelligence with a short bus remark and now my athletic prowess. Im sure you were a regular Jim Brown yourself. It doesnt matter what team I am "from", my observations have nothing to do with individual boys or teams and I know all of the talent is evening out as they get older. As a matter of fact, I was defending you guys so get your head out of your butt. Dont you realize that the kids read this? If you are totally ok with players reading that some parents from their team posted about how the team was out-coached - Ok then, I stand corrected, I am really out of touch with the world of select lacrosse. Man I'm glad I am not riding home in the car with you after a loss, everyone must be fair game!
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
That was someone's son that you are talking about and it is such a disgrace that it is has come down to this. Whoever posted the remark about that specific boy should apologize. Kids do read these posts.

Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
who cares about whether 91 white played these top teams or not. its about specifically bashing and naming a boy
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
91 white didnt name any boy. Why are we being mentioned in a topic we have nothing do with?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
I think there are two topics being blended.

I think everyone can agree the naming of a boy was very wrong.

But then they were saying who was tops of 2019. How the original post started. 91 White I think they were complimenting you saying you are a top 2019 team and therefore have you played any of the other teams mentioned that is all.

Ok understand. Thanks for clarification. And no we have not played express A 91 orange or dune dawgs. We have played fl$ and riptide and won both if u said we have not played anyone. And entered the shamrock shootout in A bracket and went 2-1. Would like to see how we would do against top teams like express A true blue A and dune dawgs. I like challenges. Makes the kids better. Its not all about the wins. Its about your kid getting great coaching and meeting and befriending kids from other towns. Remember these kids are only 11and 12. Some of these kids might not play in high school because they are burnt out from crazy parents who are living through their kids. I see this too much. Its a shame a parent named a kid on here. U should be ashamed. Probably never saw an athletic field in his or her life. I find through my town and travel those are the parents with the biggest mouths.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Wasn't complimenting them on beating fl$ and Riptide , was just wondering if they played the Express A or DD or TB yet. I've seen some promoting of them on his site and was curious who they have played.and yes I do agree that it is more about getting better and meeting new friends .someone just got defensive with the reply .
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Yes I saw that. I was new to this site 2 months ago and I see it is a bashing site of whose team is better then the next. And I see u have an attitude about your first comment on wasn't complimenting them beating fl$ or riptide. Pretty funny. Sarcastic I guess. And I'm not saying we would beat those teams but would give them a great game. And lastly never saw promoting of them on this site. But they are a very good team with dedicated coaches who care.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Way too many haters getting involved thru their kids in this great sport. Part of its greatness has always been the mutual respect of competitive, hard playing dudes.
How about teaching and promoting some humility when achieving success? And maybe aknowldging that an opponent actually deserved to beat you on a given day.
You are creating self promoting, arrogant kids and teams with the hating and look how great we are nonsense.

The following is a quote off of another forum, it was written by the father of a Senior Boy at Smithtown West. His son was just informed that his last HS season will have to end due to injury. I have watched him play many times and i know he has worked extremely hard to become the great player that he is. Best of luck to him in the future.

Maybe we can learn from his dad who apparently just gained some perspective.

So true they will grow up and be gone real soon and wins and losses wont mean a thing. What will matter is down the road when they look back will they have fond memories of the game that we all love. Cheers to all the boys no matter what the color of the jersey.
Replayed from the Boys 2017 Thread - now in the appropriate age grouping

2019 has some great talent, two awesome goalies... however they got beat bad by fl$...Just wonder why Express didn't have another try-out this spring to recruit some MORE talent.....Also, looks like no "C" team.not enough kids
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
I know Wolverines have 2 great goalies, but Terps does too?

I am sure another tryout wasn't had because of how it worked-out last year. If they need players I am sure they have a few numbers they could call if they needed.

The 2019 Wolverines got beat by the 2018 fl$ team then played the 2019 fl$ team an hour later and beat them 9 - 1. I think the original post was a bit confused since they were on a 2017 thread.

Terps are not strong. There goalie is decent but he has not supporting cast around him.

Not confused, the thread's jist was about created another tryout for the B teams. Like last year. But I think after last year, the parents and players associated with the organization were not pleased with how things were run for those b and add on teams

If changes happened they know who and how to contact those who could help

Their best player also plays on the 2020 91 Orange team. So if the 2019 DD team would play the 2019 91 team, would he play against them?
Or is it a moot point, because this DD team would avoid it like they avoid entering tournaments the same weekend as both 91 teams?

fl$
TB
91w
RT
GC or ST

Yeah tru blue A can't beat dd, 91orange or express wolverines. I think they are next bracket with 91w, smithtown, and fl$. I would even put ny all greys in there. Probably after that you have team Long Island, outlaws black, riptide, jesters and true blue b team. Wish all these teams would do a tournament at same time. You just hear all the fathers talk about how this team would beat that team. It's annoying! Am I missing anyone?

First, The Dune Dawgs have never avoided team 91... i.e., Shamrock shootout last year. Their schedules just haven't matched since.

Second, yes one of the top players is on crush. Actually two of the top players play for crush. I find it funny that teams try to neutralize this kid with various junk defenses; however, the dawgs continue to win. At some point, you have to realize that their are many more top (Best) players on the team that will beat you.....
Get it yet? TEAM!!!!!!! I haven't seen one defensive unit shut down the attack yet...

Once you raise your lacrosse IQ, you will realize this fact and stop with your silly posts.
Your point is MOOT.

Enough with the DD haters. It's getting old. They have more than just 2 players. They have a lot others that have great talent and they put it all together. They hustle on defense and their goalies are pretty good. If you shut off their 2 key players they will beat you with the rest. I've seen it happen.

1 goal losses to three teams, obviously could have gone either way. last week they lost in OT to Dune Dawgs and then lost in championship game. wouldn't count them out yet.

If you have time to come on this site, I am sure you can go on the NXT Cup website to get your answer. However, something tells me you already know the answer.

It can't be true becuase they were missing kids. They can't win without there full team. They are not a good team without some of the kids. That's why they could not have won.

We have something that no one else has and that is excellent coaches who know how to adjust in game situations. We also have a family bond that is untouchable.. so we might not have had a full team but we know how to win with or without them. the kids have heart and respect for their coaches and have learned a lot abut how the game is played. So don't make assumptions or excuses. Worry about yourself and your team don't be hater because your jealous and missed out on your opportunity

so let me see if I got this right. First you bash the 2019 Taylor team because we win with our full team. Then you bash the 2019 Taylor again because they only win with two kids from 91 playing on the team. Then we win without our whole team and now we are talented and you move on to the entire program. Wow wish I was in your family I can only imagine what your wife and kids go through day in and day out with you. Enjoy your team and your choice, one day it will be over and you can be miserable alone.

"No one else has"'.....please. Yes, you have a talented TEAM. Outside of that, Dune Dawgs is a weak program.

The Havoc Dune Dawgs program is being BUILT. let's remember they merged prior to LAST SEASON and suffered the loss of one of the founding partners at the end of last season. When you say the "program is weak" what exactly are you referring to? Their quality coaching by college level coaches? Their drive and determination to build the skills of their players?
It sounds like you have a personal ax to grind. maybe it's time to grow up. if you are happy where you are good for you, let others be happy where they are.

Who cares? You people are nuts arguing over which set of 12 year olds is better than the other. News Flash... this is Long Island, there are great lacrosse teams and players everywhere you look and not just on select teams. Who cares if Crush leaves or DD win with or without certain boys or how many goals a team lost or won by? Dont you realize that in a few years time half of these kids wont even be playing anymore? Just wait until they have a girlfriend who doesnt want them to go to practice, or god forbid fall in with the wrong crowd, or finally stand up and say they havent wanted to play since the 3rd grade. And when are we going to stop referring to these two boys on the Crush and DD like they are professionals that we have a right to critique because they are paid athletes? Leave them alone already, they are just kids who happen to be terrific lacrosse players but why cant we just leave it that. Dont confuse you kid's happiness with your own desire for minor, fleeting glory becuase he came from your loins. Yikes, some of you people better hope that there is no such thing as karma because your own kids will be paid back in spades for all of your hate if there is!

NJ Shootout was a lot of fun this weekend. Very competitive. Great way for True Blue to finish up the season. Went 3-1 including making a big comeback in winning a hard fought game against the Long Island All Grays. Both the Grays and True Blue wound up beating the tough NJ Patriots who had won one or two tournaments on LI including fl$ earlier in the summer. Way to go Long Island!
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
You didn't win the tournament though. Supposed to be a so called top A team and u guys have not won a tournament in a couple of years. Who won the tournament?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
I loved the fact the tournament was set up to show DOB and a roster of players on its website(to confirm age); but I didn't see many teams have that form filled out. That would be a great option to each tournament. May put to bed a bunch of issues.

I believe fl$ has beaten Smithtown I would put them ahead of Smithtown. I'm not sure the All Greys should be up that high on the list and I'm not sure the Jesters should even be on the list.

I wouldn't go that far with fantasyland statement. They are areal good team. They beat fl$ and smith town during the year. I agree not 3rd though. Wish would have played true blue and express wolves in tob league but was never on schedule. And it was requested.

Would love to see this as a tournament for the group, with each column as a Division (Nassau, Suffolk & Brookhaven).

Nassau Suffolk Brookhaven
91 '19 Orange DD LIE

Garden City Smithtown Outlaws Black

fl$ Riptide 91 '20 Crush

NY Greys 91 white TB

How can you say 91 white is # 3 ? Who have you beat. I know you are a white parent and your proud of the boys but please be realistic. It takes more than a few real good players to beat a legit A team. Have you even played your orange team during the year. Next your gonna say no cause they were afraid they could lose to their B team. Enough with the promoting . You've been trying all season and it's obvious who u are.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
They have beaten patriot from jersey also. Beat team Long Island and riptide also. And I was not the parent who said we were 3. So relax big guy! What team does your son play for? And no we would not beat orange. They are by far the best team in our age group all around! So I 'am realistic. I think we would give true blue and express wolves a very good game.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
How about this for stirring the pot, if the boys went back to their own town and played against each other which towns are looking good.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
91 orange is not by ar the best team in that age bracket!!! DD BEAT THEM TWICE IN ONE DAY AT SHAMROCK SHOOTOUT last year! And 91 orange has never beaten the DD! SO HOW DO YOU FIGURE? Please explain because where I come from, until you beat that team, you are not better than them!! DD 2-0 vs 2019 orange!

Beating Riptide is not really that big of a deal...they're very good, but I watched them lose to HDD's 2019 B team at Forsberg this year.

Waaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!! Green Turtles are the best in the nation because they beat DD last year, No West Coast All-Stars are! No Mad lax is! No Patriots are! Who cares. They are 11 and 12 year old kids. Just enjoy the kids and the teams they are on.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
91 white will not beat TB. Not all greys either. Not saying they're not good but whoever says 3 is no way. To be fair I would put DD express and 91 together at a close group in which anyone can win on any given day. Then there's the rest.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
You can't put the N.Y. All Grays ahead of T.B. T.B. beat them the last 2 times they played.

True Blue won the last game, but the you are not really counting a scrimmage as a win? Seriously? its when coaches experiment. The two teams played in two tournaments and split.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Team 91 2019 Orange has 5 new players this year and they in my opinion are the best 6th grade team I've seen. We go to Baltimore and play in the three day 3DLacrosse tournamnet. Some of the best players around will be there. Yes DD won last year fair and square but team is solid from top to bottom this season. I would like to play they again even if it were a scrimmage..

DD have also added 2 new players to their team, both very skilled offensive players making that team much deeper than it was last year! Very tough team to stop on offense.

Terrible event - too much standing around waiting for some instruction based on what I saw last year - save your money for other camps.
This is a quality post. No thumping chest, just stating the opinion. I like that. Now, I feel that it would be a great game between 91 and the DD's..... The DD's have put it out there several times. Lacrosse and Pizza after for the boys. What say ou 91??????

Completely different experience. My son (9th grade)loved the clinic. Felt it was some of the best instruction (defense) he has received in a clinic setting. Coach Danowski gave both lax and life lessons. If my son's tournament schedule allowed for it, he would do this clinic again in a heart beat.

Thanks for the feedback. What's the worst that could happen (aside from the money, whihc is comparable to other camps/clinics)? He learns a little bit from a NCAA champion coach and his staff.

Given that the tryout season is just around the corner, from the teams listed below
A). Which teams have some big upside going into the tryouts (only looking for 1 or 2 players).
B). What position does each team need to get to the next level (G, D, M, A, F/O)

This could be helpful for those players looking for a team. If a team has a well established line (or the coaches son's play certain position) I doubt a team is looking in that direction, so please keep this positive so we can potentially steer families to the best option for their player to play (or steered families away from a dead-end tryout which sometimes leads to a donation to the organization)

Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
I can understand the danger of this and how this may be opening a can of worms but I can also see its benefits. Each player needs to work their hardest at tryouts, it is always nice to know what the team is looking for (if anyone). So you're not wasting your time and money.

Each year there is always a few posts of "why did you take my $$ if you knew you were not filling any roster spot". This could get those out of the way early on.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Yes, FCA Maryland is legit. Not a lot has been heard about this club comparatively speaking with the other Maryland select teams. Maybe its because they only do a few local tournaments each year since most of their kids play on the other Maryland select clubs. This is an all-star team and is basically a feeder program to the Maryland catholic high schools - arguably one of the best high school leagues in the country. So there is no shame in losing to this team in the championship. Just a little disappointing because we had them down in the 4th quarter of both games. But they found a way to win both times and deserve to be champs. Funny, some of their parents said they were getting ready for us for weeks - we knew nothing about them. Well, we know who they are now and we will be amped up to play them next year. It will be fun and this time we will be the hunter and not the hunted - refreshing. Congrats FCA Maryland - this was a class group and it was all you could ask for in a championship game - clean, well-played, competitive, and down to the wire. Numerous casual observers asked me "how old the kids were" and were stunned by the answer. Thats a testament to the players on both teams and their coaches. oh and as far as the 91 vs. DD "who is better debate" is concerned - other than a few parents trying to live vicariously through their kids; who cares? The kids dont!

That is correct the 2019 Wolverines did not win a tournament. Had some tough losses. Great team and a great bunch of parents. The coaching staff was incredibly dedicated had a ton of practices . All the boys grew as players and young men. Thanks for a great season of Lax. So dont try to stir the pot.

I think this list is accurate.

Many good teams at this age group. In order to make one of the top teams your kid will have to earn a spot by displacing another good player. There are not too many superstars out there but there is a tremendous amount of talent. I am sure there are a lot of kids out thee who could make these teams if they went to the tryouts. Not all of the best players are playing Club Lacrosse. Also, I am sure that some very good players would not make (the top) teams. (why would a team want to break up good chemistry) I do not pretend to know how all of these teams think but if you want to see where your kid stands bring him to a couple of tryouts. Even if he does not make the team you will see how he compares to the other 100 or so kids on the field. Having your son go to a tryout will also be a good experience (7th grade does not matter) but tryouts can be used to help a player by getting him out of his comfort zone (his town team) .

Remember, not all of the best kids play for the best team. These boys are going into 7th grade and we will see a lot of change over the years to come. Good luck to all.

So the top team is Wolverines? Thought it was Terps. Why is it stirring the pot? If I want my kid to tryout for a team can't I inquire? All those things you say about the team are great and will be taken into consideration.

I am new to this board but I am really hoping for some serious replies without all the drama. I am looking for a 2019 team for my son, we just moved here from Florida and I am looking for a quality team. Is it possible you give me a rundown of the top teams I should contact for 2019?
Thank you and please no arguing, I am seeing all these try outs and feeling a little overwelmed at where to look.

Where do you live and how far are you willing to travel 2 or 3 times a week for practice?

I agree- this should be a consideration. If your kid is solid, picking a team near by may make your life that much better and lax that much more enjoyable for your son. If your son is a top lax athlete for his age, then you may want the very best team- which may mean more travel, which is not always easy, especially if no one else in your area plays for that team- so all the driving around the rush hour practices is up to you. For some the travel to and from practices is not a big deal, but if you have a few kids in different sports or that play for different clubs, this can be an issue. Not the number one concern in the big scheme of things, but something to add to the equation when researching and choosing which clubs to try out for.

A lot of talented teams in the 2019 bracket:

- Dune Dawgs: The top team, most boys will return next year, mostly hand-picked, not many open spots. Only negative, parents can be a little nutty.

- 91: One of the top 3 teams, great coaching, lots of year-round training from former MLL & D1 players. Fastest-growing program on the Island

- Express Wolves: Talented team, probably #3 behind DD & 91. You want to be on the 'A' (Orange) team. Parents have had issues with the the lack of attention paid to the 'B' & 'C' teams. Only concern is if the same staff coaches next season

fl$: Not as deep as the top three teams but well coached, plays everyone equally and has a strong track record with college recruiting for the older boys. Tends to attract Manhasset, GC & CSH families.

True Blue: Very competitive team, head coach is great with the boys. They have had some growing pains trying to beat the top three teams

Jesters, Outlaws, Checkmate: Not as competitive but haven't heard any real negative experiences from parents

Yes I do know what goes into it ( it isnt as hard as you think) and many of the families of the teams I have been on were very thankful 4 what ive done. Actually for the money we've paid for travel teams you would think all that you detailed would be laid out for you.

btw - I was just saying that for a poster who said they were new to the area (from fla). being helpful, this time of year is very difficult to navigate when you think you know what is going on let alone when youre not from the area. (And PAL has turned into a joke suffolk teams playing nassua no real assesment of teams to get like eams playing. no real enforcement of "borrowing" etc etc)

Here is the breakdown for the top (3) 2019 A (elite teams) in no specific order:

express--great kids, college coaches from 20 years ago or so, expensive for what you get, all about winning but did not win any tournaments this year and nutty parents. Maybe a lot more spots open this year since they did not win and rumor has it all the coaches are gone.

91--great kids, college coaches from 20 years ago or so,
expensive for what you get, all about winning but do not win all the time and nutty parents. Maybe one or two spots open becuase they had a good year.

Dune Dawgs--great kids, current college coach,
fairly priced for what you get, all about winning and win all the time, and nutty parents. Maybe one or two spots open becuase they won every tournament this year.

Then there is the rest of the travel temas, all are good but can not compete with the three top teams right now. I think they all have nutty parents as well.

Hope this helps when making your decision for trying out for a travel team.

As long as your kid develops as a player year in and year out any team will be good for them. It is all about the coaching and the kids he plays with (friends) when making the final decision. Leave the social aspect of the parents out of it, the parenst time is over its about the kids.

Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
And your a disgruntled parent because your kid is not good enough to make those teams. You have the ordacity to point fingers at these teams like your some lax parent god. Your calling those parents nutty! Your nuts for commenting the way you did. At least you said the kids are good kids. Lol! My kid doesn't even play on these teams and you pissed me off with that comment. Now lets see your assessment on the other teams like 91white true blue jesters outlaws all greys riptide and fl$.

Ordacity?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Slow down, whether the writers son is good enough or not has no bearing on what was written. I don't see what was written as far from the truth and nothing specific, very general.

  • All AA teams are out to win (as they should).
They said all kids were great.

  • And quite honestly, all folks are a bit nutty - I know I am.

[*]I believe someone earlier in a post stated Express likes to change up coaching in 7th grade (not sure).

Please read the post again, and remember tryouts aren't to far off. Enjoy that your son is making friends on his team and across other organizations.

If you are new to the scene then yes there are some other teams (listed on right) and those teams listed in the post have more teams in this age group. Those would be the teams I would be interested in hearing about (because I am nosey/nosy).

Also remember when new organizations start it at times maybe at the expense of another organization. And don't bash a kid for leaving a team, they are doing what they thought was best (you never know their individual situation). and lastly some kids may get cut from a team, good bad or indifferent it happens. If you liked the kid and family while on your team stay close you will see them on the field the next few years.

My son has been on 3 different teams. I can honestly say even after leaving, I am still friends with more than half of the families and more importantly my son talks with his old teammates regularly and when they see each other at the fields it is nice to see.

I would love it if the best players for the grade could get together and make a LI super team like FCA and others. Never to late to start.

Good day all this is "lax parent god" reporting

I was commenting on a previous posts where it says "parents can be nutty". Here I copied it for you since your panties are in a ruffle and you cant process the whole post. Also by your response it proves the statement that yes indeed parents are nutty including yourself and just because your your son is not on one of the top 3 2019 teams in long island and plays on one of the other teams that don't get as much attention as the BIG 3 it is ok since this whole travel thing doesnt matter at the end of the day.

MY assessment on the other teams like 91white true blue jesters outlaws all greys riptide and fl$ is as follows:

all the above 2019 programs are good but not as good as the top three, however I also did say pick the team that the coach can develop your son the best. That is why you pay all this money anyway isnt it?

Have a nice day Mr. Peanut

I love all these posts that insult the parents of the kids on select teams. Other than directly insulting kids, it is one of the most devious cheap shots on here; impossible to counter because when you do the original poster replies "you see, you people are nutty" (or words to that effect). Its like trying to disprove the negative and lets face it, is usually perpetrated by a person whose child did not make one of these teams.
So let me add my two cents to the nutty parent issue:
we have been involved with 3 organizations: - 2 travel, 1 PAL. In only one of those organizations did all of the following occur:
- parents approaching, calling, texting and e-mailing the coach to tell him who should and should not be playing, and when
- parents yelling insults at children who were not their own from the sideline
- parents openly insulting other children, for example "this kid cant even catch, why is he in?"
- arguments between parents of the same team on the sideline
- parents who did not pay their way
- other general "brown nosing" to get in good graces with the program (I will leave it there)
- parents coaching from the sideline in direct conflict with what the coach is trying to achieve (e.g. Johnny, take it yourself, go to the cage")

Yes, that was in the PAL program if you havent already figured it out. Ours is considered one of the top programs on the island so if it happens in ours, it happens in yours too.

On a more positive note, we found the parents on both travel teams very pleasant and not "nutty" at all. As a matter of fact, parents from travel teams can leave all of the "town associated drama" and pre-conceived nonsense behind. No issues bleeding over from other sports, school, friends, etc. No resentment or jealousy towards other kids because they wont be competing against each other for a position at school. People actually rooted for other peoples' kids - and did it with sincerity!

You aren't to far off base, but all of your points still happen in Travel.
It just exists more in PAL and much less on the AA's but still exists inbetween.

One of my sons plays 2020 but we played 2019 All Greys a few times- and I have to say- I think they are a very good, solid, classy A team. If my son was 2019 I'd try out for this team. I do not know if they have openings, have no connection to them at all, but they played fluidly, the coach was great, the parents were mostly humble and cheered on our boys as well and the boys seemed nice. If looking for a team, I would do some research into this club to see if there are openings. They are not one of the big club names, but they seem to have a good reputation.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
You are correct. I am sure one or more of these things happened with our travel teams, I just didn't see it. I can tell you for a fact though, that all of these things happened in our PAL organization, and on the same team, no less. I think the travel parents - bashing thing is a bit contrived and played out at this point. Furthermore, it smacks with jealousy and resentment, and like almost all generalizations, is utter nonsense. It has been my experience thus far that the travel team parents seemed more reasonable and less under-handed than those at PAL. I wont say what program it is, but I should correct my earlier characterization to say "we used to be" one of the top youth programs on the island.

Thank you for all the feedback, I appreciate all the help. We are in East Islip but Lacrosse is our lives so traveling for the right team is no issue. I did notice that on the top 10 list that the Team Long island or Legacy was not mentioned, is that a fair assesment? I notice their tryouts are coming shortly so I do not want to have my son go there if they are not a high ability team. thank you and I mean no disrespect to any teams.

Legacy is a brand new team, they were only 2021 last year and were pretty successful. They are starting teams from 2-8 this year. Cant give you information on a team that hasnt even been formed yet.

Actually the team LI 2019a is a very good team, winning several championships this year. They are also half the price of most of the other organizations. They have tryouts coming up next weekend at Mt. Siani HS

If a team has a well established line (or the coaches son's play certain position) I doubt a team is looking in that direction, so please keep this positive so we can potentially steer families to the best option for their player to play (or steered families away from a dead-end tryout which sometimes leads to a donation to the organization)

For those kids that don't want to be scond fiddle on a B or C team where all the attention and resources are given to the A team then that new team LIT Blue Sharks might be a nice option. My older son played for and trained with those coaches. Two great lax guys with the right values and dedication to develop boys.

Nothing like self promotion. Apparently you don't know all the organizations as well as you think you do. Not every oganizations second teams are "second fiddle" as you say. Look at some of the better programs second teams before you start your banter.

What organization cares about their B team? You might think they do.

Express 2018
No question. Superb B level coach in Mike Schwalje.

Have a look at 91 2018 & 2019 White or the True Blue 2019 B team.

Daly Goalie Training out of Shoreham. Mr. Daly trains boys from St Anthonys, Chaminade, Shoreham, Ward Melville and surrounding areas and also trains girls goalies assisted by his daughter. Worth a look. https://www.facebook.com/DalyGoalieTraining

Joe Fallon is a great goalie trainer, he works with the NY ALL GREYS' goalies and can be reached @ www.allgreyslacrosse.org. Joe played goalie in college and has coached at the Varsity level for many years.

How about for goalies on the South Shore Islip area.

expensive for what you get, all about winning but do not win all the time and nutty parents.

Yes I guess we all are nuts.......We pretty much give up 5 to 6 weekends during the summer to take our children to play in tournaments and stay in average hotels at best eat mostly pizza and other gourmet fast food. Then win or lose we get to sit in traffic usually on the New Jersey Turnpike. Why do I do it ? For the chance of a full ride to College ? NOPE HA HA For the tee shirt that you get if you win ? NOPE My son has plenty of clothes to wear . I do it so when I pull into my driveway and my son and I bump fists and he says thanks Dad I had a great time. So cheers to my fellow NUTS . See you this summer.

One of the very best posts that I have seen on BOTC in a while - congratulations, dear parent. You get it and you will remember every single one of those bumps when your son's freshman collegiate season comes calling. Thank you for the contribution.

Forget 91 2019 White. Last season they were constantly put into tournament brackets they did not want in order to accommodate the 2019 Orange 7 2020 Crush. When the issue was brought to the attention of the directors we were told that our placement was due to our inconsistency, yet the placements were a big part of the problem. For parents to go through this is crazy, how can we truly assess our kids and teams under those conditions? This year they’re are being told they will be playing in “A” brackets only. The question is which tournaments. It would be a good bet that they will be getting the 2019 Orange & 2020 Crush leftovers. They may have had a good team, but would the parents really know as the teams was rarely tested and when they were the results were inconsistent? Parents, how many times are you willing to get burned? The team should have left and gone somewhere where they would really be appreciated or struck out on their own, especially since the new head coach is a parent anyway. When are we as parents going to start taking control and doing what is right for our kids?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Correct, big changes. I also heard a rumor that one of those programs listed is about to lose the core of what was a very good team.If it is true does anyone knows why? Fill me in as I thought they were with a decent program.......was it a change in program motive? Not sure if they are going somewhere or starting their own thing, but either way if it happens there will be change.

You sound disgruntled. You also sound like a coward hiding behind an anonymous post. If you have an issue call up your coach, tell them you aren't happy so they can find another kid that wants to play midfield. Lord knows there where plenty on the field last week. The problem with you is you are going to cry no matter what organization you go to. We all know who you are. This will be a strong team this year and will be competitve in the A bracket. You just may not be there to enjoy it with them no matter how good you think your son is.

If your son didn't make it and you feel is an A player not a B the Revolution just posted a tryout for an A team this weekend. Someone posted that it was the kids from TB 2019 team and they left starting there own thing with a majority of the kids from last year playing ...Just can't confirm it on my end and I am not sure how many openings or the price. I will ask my son when he gets home if he heard anything. Just another option at this point for some.Sorry for those who didn't make it. It's not the end of the world for these kids.

Looked like ~150 kids on the second day. They did seem to narrow it down a bit and looked like more of the A players on one field during the scrimmage as I didn't see any of the gray helmets on the other field. Still looks like 3 teams (Orange/White/Stampede).
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Yeah orange and white on same field scrimmaging. Then they put the kids they were looking at with them. I guess to see how these kids would fit in with their team. Level of talent on both teams were impressive. My son was on other field which looked like it was for stampede. Still solid talent over there, but orange and white are going to have two legit teams.

2019 91Stampede was a decent team last year, making it to playoffs/championship games in most of their tournaments (B bracket). I'd say they were a B/B+ team, if some of the talent on that field commits they could be really good. Just because they are a 3rd team doesn't make them a C, just means the other 2 are better for that organization.. Not sure how many parents will feel that way and commit instead of going outside of 91.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -

it went well. seemed like a lot of boys from other programs. not sure the level of play but it seems they will field a team that will be able to be competitive(I didn't say beat top programs or become one so don't start bashing)

I heard some 2019 91 kids (probably stampede) are also trying out for HDD

Still solid talent over there, but orange and white are going to have two legit teams.

2019 91Stampede was a decent team last year, making it to playoffs/championship games in most of their tournaments (B bracket). I'd say they were a B/B+ team, if some of the talent on that field commits they could be really good. Just because they are a 3rd team doesn't make them a C, just means the other 2 are better for that organization.. Not sure how many parents will feel that way and commit instead of going outside of 91.

I heard some 2019 91 kids (probably stampede) are also trying out for HDD

Why do you care?

Why because if a player does not make 91 and still wants to play we/you know were quality boys may be going to get a spot on a team.

It's funny how so many of the parents complained about what was happening to them last year on the white until they had some success in some less competitive tournaments (in B brackets). At the fl$ tournament they were in the A bracket but failed to make the championship. The sad thing is that some complained that the other teams cheated and used "older" players, which means they didn't "really" lose.

The Havoc Dune Dawgs organization is proud to announce the addition of Coach Tim Boyle, who will be taking over as head coach for one of the 2019 teams.

Coach Boyle is starting his fourteenth season as Dowling Head Coach, where he won a National Championship in 2012, and two Conference and USILA National Coach of the Year awards. During his tenure, Tim has coached over thirty All American Selections, four of which went on to play professionally. Prior to taking over as head coach, Tim served as the Golden Lions assistant from 1995-2000. His responsibilities included advance scouting, recruiting and working with the midfielders.

We feel that our 2019 coaching staff is second to none, with three teams being coached by Mike Taylor, Tim Boyle, and Chris Jorgensen/Lou Riley.

Tryouts for the 2019 teams will be held at Dowling's Brookhaven Athletic Facility, on 9/21 & 9/28, from 5:15-6:45pm. For more information, and to register, please visit havocddlax.com.

The 2019 A team has had much success and is very well coached. I can't remember the last time they lost to a 2019 A team, or even had a real close game for that matter.

Too bad it's 45 minutes from Nassau Border, actually 1 hour from my house. Where do they practice, is it any closer? A team would be great if my kid were lucky enough but even so....guess that's why mostly Suffolk kids.

Last year, most teams practiced in patchogue, but I think they're looking into other locations to help attract more nassau & western suffolk families. The A team is very, very good, but they're also trying to build a very solid 2nd team, with boyle taking over as head coach.

Hi, wondering if anyone can help me out. My son is a seventh grader and wants to join his middle school team in the fall. He played lax a few years when he was in 4th and 5th grade but had to drop it last year due to conflicts with travel soccer. any suggestions as to where he might be able to take a clinic over the winter to get back in the game. Looking for something in nassau county. thanks

Along the right side of the display, you will see the Globall Paccione Clinics (starting October 20th), fl$ Positional Camps (starting October 26th), and fl$ Box Lacrosse Training (starting December 14th).

You can be sure that BOTC will be carrying more options as we head into later October if one of these events does not help you.

The Paccione Clinics are fantastic, my son really enjoyed them and right near Hofstra so central Nassau was convenient for us, Garden City.

Not sure about the summer but it looks as if the Fall Brawl (Nov 29) has many of these teams playing Thanksgiving weekend. I thought Shamrock shootout would have been the first for many for the teams to meet against each other but without knowing the teams (A/B) it looks like Thanksgiving could serve as a great starting point for LI lax.

Maybe the Dune Dawgs v 91 conversation can be settled until Shamrock at least.

How do you figure these rankings. Outlaws beat All Greys soundly in PA last season .
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Really, beat them soundly? Outlaws lost to the ALL GREYS the first day then won the second day. Theses boys have played numerous times the past few years, this was the first time the Outlaws won... New season, I look forward to watching my son play great competition regardless of the name on the Jersey.

There are only two A teams on this list. That is 91 and the DD. All others can't come close to beating those teams.

Lets see, posted at 12:01 am on a Friday Night. Go have another drink and pound your chest about how good your sons 12 year old team is.

How do you know that those are the only 2 A teams? Did any of these teams play each other during the fall? Has 91 and DD ever faced each other?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
This upcoming year will most likely be the year that these teams play. They have not played each other in two years. Mule probably feels he finally has the team that could possibly win; therefore, I wouldn't be surprised.

Your goalie stood on his head in the first game should have beaten you the first game also. You won by a goal. Big difference in the second game

Fall ball means absolutely nothing. 91 and DD dont even play fall tournaments thats for teams that need a confidence builder . Track record speaks for itself, those two teams are the ones that upgraded from last year while all the other teams scrambled for players and put together teams calling themselves A. 91 and DD also won every tournament they played in. Tell the forum what other team can say that and then added more quality players? Some of the fake A teams were lucky they were able to get a team together this year. 91 played DD a couple of years ago and lost by a goal . I hope this year they play and stop ducking 91. I predict that 91 and DD second teams will beat most of if not all the so called A teams this spring season.

Really fake A, Interested to know who you think those fake A teams are.

To me

fl$ and Express should be nice teams and are absolutely A teams.
Outlaws may lose to those teams but is also an A team.
Lets throw crush in the mx, they would beat 2019 a.
Team LI is a u13 team but would play with them not sure but don't think there are any 2018 on the team
Legacy has an A team does anyone know their level of play. Can't label them until they play someone.
All greys, garden city, revolution... Not sure what they will be but to call the fake a's is arrogant and premature.

That's correct. Dune Dawgs 2019 top team will not enter a tournament without the 2 boys from Crush. What a joke. How can the parents of that team put up with that?

Here we go again. No, the DD's Taylor see no reason in playing in these tournaments. You guys keep playing while we continue to play box. You'll figure it out someday. Whomever keeps posting this is an absolute a**. Taken from the turtle page, if you want to play HDD 2019, reach out to the directors. Anytime, anywhere. It's out there. Has been for over a year, yet no takers. Send an email. Outside of 91, it's not worth it....

Let's really put it out there correctly. The boys that play for crush went there because the director from the other organization told them they couldn't play for both DD and express two years ago. Those boys played for DD before they played for crush or express for that matter. So they decided to play for crush and make sure that they beat the express every time they can. Which they do!! There is so much more here people, but most likely the coaches/parents from two years ago keep this going without stating what the truth is.

Email the directors if you want a game....

Because they don't get enough competition at 2020. They want to make sure express never wins.... This is only my opinion as I'm not speaking for the parents.

As for the question regarding playing down. They are in the sixth grade and are age appropriate. Sorry if your son doesn't have the same skill. Figure it out by now. They're just good enough to play up. Not many at that age group can. If you would like to play the 2019 DD's send an email; otherwise, leave it alone.

What are farse. You actually think they repeated 5th grade. Its comments like this that trivialize the situation instead of bring meaningful commentary to the situation.

I don't know the boys personally but if they repeated 5th grade you really think their parents would have them on the lacrosse fields (practice and games) as much as they do and not at home or sitting next to tutors.

You miss the point. The grade was repeated for athletic advantage. They are bright, articulate boys, no academic need to repeat. They red-shirted 5th grade to be eligible to stay with Crush as 2020s.

Please tell me that this is not true. I truly hope that is not the case. If it is not true, then please do not say something like that. If it is true, WOW!

Trust me it's true!! Look at the roster for nealy every top D1 program and you will see that it is made up of about 70% prep school kids who are basically ALL holbacks! This is not a coincidance!

They red-shirted 5th grade? this HAS to be false, that is the craziest thing I have ever read on this site. I cant believe I am in the minority when I say this.

unfortunately more parents are doing this to their kids. I can understand holding them back from kindergarten based on birthday but to hold them back in later grades after making friends over the course of time is twisted. In the end there really is not a lot to be gained financially when thousands of kids are competing for a limited amount of scholarship money.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
What school district would do this. If you cant provide facts let it go.

I really doubt it was in 5th grade they were held back.

It's done before kindergarten. before 9th, and before greaduation (PG). Typically in private school, because public schools will not let a kid repeat a year, they would have do a year privately, then return.

I understand what is happening prior to Kindergarten, 9th and PG. But 5th grade, that is what I am questioning... because that is what was being put out there.

If it has happened at 5th, put it out at what school district or private school affiliation.

This is a COMPLETE and Utter LIE!

Cage, can you help these poor boys out. They are being attacked by adults for playing a sport they love… Isn't that Bullying?

Remember dd 2019 A may not play if crush is playing somewhere. And crush is playing elsewhere, So I am not sure this is the dd A team.

That's correct. Dune Dawgs 2019 top team will not enter a tournament without the 2 boys from Crush. What a joke. How can the parents of that team put up with that?

And you got your information from…?
You are INCORRECT!
Again, you can say what you want, but the facts don't support what you are saying, just makes you a jealous blow hard…

What a bunch of BS!

Here goes IF 91 wants to play HDD 2919 Taylor…Let's GO!

HDD will furnish the fields, Ref fees can be split so there is no whining afterwards that there was favoritism and each player can throw $5 into a fund. Winning team gets to decide where the money is donated.

IF 91 wants to put this to rest, email the directors of HDD. I know for a fact that they will gladly play, if for no other reason then to stop the ridiculous rumor mill regarding this subject.

HDD played the Express in the spring of last year and put that rumor to rest, also played them 3 times over the summer and won each time. So the only myth to dispel is who would win if 91 played HDD…

Let's Go Boys!

Wow what time, what PA team? Should be some good games. Nice to get the teams together on LI.

91 going to Yale on Sat
Express playing on LI Sat
not sure what DD is doing

There are all playing Sunday - doesn't seem like Fall ball is not worth it, seems like the opposite and is going strong (but you did say Fall tournaments so ok)

I got the sarcasm just didn't like your attempt to "Crush" the issue by your attempted FARSE!!

But it is getting close to pointing out a limited pool of boys.

Hearing there is so much interest in the DD/91 match-up that they may need to move the venue over to Hofstra's stadium to accomodate the crowd and ESPN may cover the game live.

I am sure there are a few other teams who would be willing and worthy of their spot. Outlaws... Legacy... Team LI... 91 Crush... Call Brennen Zumo Gangas or Spalina I am sure any and all of them would want to play.

A round robin on LI against Express and Dukes... What a great opportunity

One teams misfortune is another's gain.

LETS GO BOYS ? If it is true that the Dawgs pulled out because they dont have all their boys that would be a joke. It would just validate what is said about not playing without a full squad. Dont you think it is possible that the other teams might be missing a few players due to injuries and other obligations ? I was looking forward to watching top teams go head to head and no my son isnt on any of the teams but has friends on all of them. OK so how are you going to spin this one ?

Wow, this has really become totally about the parents and not the kids at this point. You do realize that these kids pretty much all like each other and dont put one iota of the amount of emotional effort into this as most of the parents do, right? Look, the DD are a great team, knowing their coach, im sure if they could play they would. I guess the youth lacrosse championship of the galaxy is going to have to wait. if you want to question motivations, you should be asking why the Crush coaches insist upon stalking the 7th grade team in their own program with hopes that they will eventually beat them (which wouldnt help anyone in the 91 program but Crush, of course), as opposed to playing in the OB tournament against 7th grade teams belonging to organizational rivals. Just thinking that if you were trying to make a point, it would be better to do it in a situation which would be a win-win for the Crush and the overall program - but thats just me talking.

Dawgs are missing 9 kids fom their team due to another lax tournament on the same day.

The other 91 directors are as appalled by JS's antics as everyone else. Now they must be CRUSHED. Does 2018 run up scores on outclassed opponents? Does 2017 or 2019 shoot behind the back when up by 10?

You have to like the deflection of the simple question asked as to wether the Dawgs were in or out. Hmmm let me bring the Crush into the conversation so I just don't say your right when we don't have our full team we won't play. Dawgs are are great team at full strength……But when they are not ……

Especially when it seems like dads not affiliated with either program being spoken about. Oh well, it's only the fall. As I said before, this will be the year they will play...

No DD parent deflected this convo to Crush. Honestly, couldn't care less about crush. This goes back to what I said several weeks ago. The fall focus for this team over the past two years has been Boxla... That will be it's only focus. Notice all the other box camps popping up?

I thought 91 Orange and crush would have had to play eachother ? I also see 91 Stampede won all their games .

Oh really stampede parent they did? Competition was not that good in B bracket.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
why are so many people angry over a teams success. The stampede won 4 games in the B bracket, and instead of this guy just being glad that these kids may have the nerve to be proud, he puts them down. Misery does love company, and people that dare be happy must be brought into submission. Only way i see it, poster must be either parent of disgruntled former player or the most insecure little person to troll this message board.

No your comment of I see stampede won all their games was ridiculous! It was not posted anywhere. So for you to make it as someone was impressed with your 4-0 status was pretty funny in my book. I'm happy for the boys. Not a parent who goes on here chest pumping. Can't stand that!!! Be humble about winning.

so everyone just talk about wins in the A brackets - so as not to upset anyone - because they can stand that.

91 2019 Orange beat Express by 2 goals and Dukes by 3 goals at Kellenberg in Uniondale today. All teams played well and the Dukes are a new team from PA and I wish them success in the future amd they are well coached team . To bad Dune Dawgs bailed out..

It was posted on Team 91's Twitter feed. Same with the other teams who won. But I guess your "A" team didn't do well, so your knocking the B teams for being happy.

I'll be more clear...try and keep up scooter..

1. I didn't write original post.

2. I have no connection to stampede whatsoever.

3. Let people enjoy doing well, is it that important to you?

4. If someone wants to thump their chest a bit because their team won a bracket, which maybe doesn't happen alot, for goodness sake whats the harm?

5. B team results are important to alot of people. Not everyone has an all star like you.

6. Lighten up Francis, why try and bring everyone down, they werent claiming to be the best team around, so your little player is still special and we all stand in awe of him and his amazing team, and only wish one day we can only hope to be part of such an elite organization as im sure your sons is.

7. Last and certainly not least, before you type your response, think twice, and ask yourself, why do I sound like such a tool?

8. Go grab your shine box.

Both 91 and Epress were missing 5-6! Players and still played. Not 2 players and decide to bail out. It was scrimmage... It's all about development, not egos!

I, for one, enjoy hearing which teams won their bracket- whether they be A, B or C. I especially enjoy hearing about teams that are not always expected to win. Great job Stampede and congratulations to them and all the other winners and undefeated teams. Thank you for sharing, as it is not posted anywhere on the Yale site.

Let's stop all this BS... You keep developing your way, the DD's will develop their way. Best of luck to you and your son. I was being scarcastic in the "bailed out". DD's were never committed. Apparently you have a jones for the organization(Director). Let's just leave this whole issue alone. See you in spring because I'm pretty sure you will not be in the local box tournament.

We were able to watch the games at Uniondale yesterday. Express beat the Dukes 3-1 and lost to 91 5-3. The game was tied 2-2 at halftime. 91 beat the Dukes by 2 or 3 . That game was tied 4-4 late in the second half. Great lacrosse and all the boys on all the teams played great. I think it is with the understanding that this was put together by the coaches/directors to make all the boys better Lacrosse players and enjoy some FUN competition! That was accomplished! Let's remember it's about our children and us as parents will not have the chance or the opportunity to watch our children forever! Just enjoy them!

Great day of Lacrosse for 2019.

91 Orange, Express Wolverines and Dukes (PA Team) played very competitive games against each other.

91 went 2 - 0 in good games against Express and Dukes.

Express 1 - 1 lost to 91 and beat Dukes both were good competitive games.

Dukes 1 - 2 Played well against 91 and Express both competitive games and then beat up on 2018 Ward Melville / Three Villages.

Would Like to see a get together at 2019 with 91, Express, DD, Laxachusetts, Crabs, etc..

Get the Competitive Teams together on a regular basis and let them play.

Great Day!

so you jump on and make a comment about two teams who played yesterday and your son plays for neither team? Now you want to leave the issue alone? Interesting. Stop trying to take a shot at LIE via Team 91, or vice versa. You made your decision to pick a program based upon what you believe works for your kid, leave it at that. I dont know who was committed and who wasnt but the DD people seem to be protesting an awful lot for a group that had no idea about the scrimmage. if it is true, you are not helping your kids by only playing in situations where you are guaranteed a victory. My kid plays for one of the other two teams and I admit the DD is probably the best 2019 team, but this trash talking is nonsense. our kids would probably be embarrassed for us if they read half of this cr@p. if you did cancel because you would be missing a few players than thats a shame because I am sure the other kids would have liked to play. after all they made the team too - no? both teams yesterday were missing multiple players, and that means more than a few. but guess what, they played anyway. yeah 91 won but they all had to get up and go to school today - no parades for the winners. i know you guys are very good but be careful putting a target on your team's back, everyone is going to give just a little bit more when they play you. and i am quite certain you will not be out there yourself with a stick in your own hands Dad.

Put these teams in the mix. Maybe the Directors of all of these clubs can get together with 91, Express, DD, Laxachusetts, Dukes and put something together so they will all be there.

Stop the BS about who is better than who, at this point it should be about competing.

Can't say. The FCA parents just referred to it as their A team not Blue or Whote. They were looking to maybe come up to LI and schedule some games with a number of teams in the spring for a play day-type thing.

Ward Melville played the following,

2018 Express B

2018 Outlaws

2019 Duke

The only game that they were not competitive in was 2019 Duke Team. They did fine Vs the other two.

The Dukes final score was 6-3. I thought all 3 teams were EXCELLENT - It would be great to see travel teams play in the Spring County League against each other. We travel all over the east coast looking to play the best teams and we really don't have to look far at all. According to everything I've read, 91, Express and Dune Dogs are the best three 2019 teams on LI. There are other programs that are probably a notch or two below that I'm sure would love to participate in events like yesterday. All the directors should continue to set up little round robin days like that. The games were intense and every child benefitted from that.

Okay a few teams have had a few games practices scrimmages under their belts and some have even played against the others. Presuming the below list is the list representing the LI AA/A teams for 2019 (alphabetically).

[list]
[*]What's your take on the grade?

[list]
[*]Are the Schedules posted for these teams so we will know who will potentially play whom?

[list]
[*]Can we at least say we will all go to Lax fest. By then all of our boys should be hitting their stride.

2019 list As of Fall 2013

91 O
DD
Express wolves
fl$
Greys
Jesters
Legacy
Outlaws
Revolution
Team LI
True Blue

91 has now played a few of the teams, you may be the best gauge on the grade, what is your take on how 2019 will represent?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
Who did they play ?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Boys 2019 Fall 2012/Spring 2013 -
91 Orange has played 12 games this Fall including the Express, Outlaws, Dukes and Legacy (2x). Most of the other teams were decent, not great, but not exactly pushovers either. We did not always play great, but we managed to win them all. The most competitive were Express and Dukes but Legacy is very solid and will be a team to contend with next Spring. I dont think the results really should translate to being on the top of some meaningless list which is only written to stir the pot, but we learned where we need work, and we also learned that the competition gets better every year as you get older. BTW, i know this is like throwing a lit match on gasoline, but 91 Crush belongs at or near the top of any list that involves LI 2019 or 2020. I know that can be a bitter one to swallow but like it or not, they can beat most of the teams on that 2019 list on any given day - some easilly, even maybe the DD assuming cloning people becomes ethically acceptable!

Considering that a few of their players are 12 years old, it isn't that amazing.

91 White lost to a team called Black Dog I think they are from Bronxville. Mostly 8th graders. They were a good team . They probably should have been playing up in the 8th grade B division.

Didn't miss a thing, 91 crush although 2020 is the second 91 2019 A team. 91w is a very good B team. Play in a brackets to be an A team. You've had 2 chances already.

Legit A team? Then why to do they play in B brackets, and get so excited (parents and coaches, not players) about beating up on weaker teams?

No, not a town team. I saw some Smithtown helmets, kings park, and I think Huntington.
