As we have seen, D-1 commits mean nothing. See Carey HS circa 2021 to validate this.

Most kids or parents would rather play on a lesser high school team and have the option after high school do go to a good academic d1 college or a better academic school than what they would have got into without playing lacrosse. So in your reply you are focusing on high school team success while the original poster was focused on college placement success. Saying d1 commits means nothing is not fair if college placement is more important to someone than playing for a strong high school team. But I do agree d1 commits mean nothing if you have no depth behind them. Carey did hold there own against GC when in all other years they would have never been close. So in that sense the d1 commits did have at least some meaning.
