I think the teams should be based solely on childs age and not year of graduation at least at the younger levels.In order to simplify it for everyone they should use year of birth in order to establish teams.
Agree. Just as soccer does.
You cannot do this because it does not make sense for recruiting. College coaches look at your graduation year. Our team, a graduating year of 2015 has many girls born 1997 and some born 1996. If you were to separate them based on birth year then the 1996 girls would be forced to play with girls graduating 2014. It would be too confusing.
