The numbers are closer to 8 - 10 kids in an average recruiting class at most of the top programs. 17 - 19 players see action in the majority of games. Sometimes more play sometimes less. None of this is really relavent to the discussion .

The question is: why is it brought up? It is always brought up to knock players who are getting recognition. It is always brought up to try to render any accomplishment as meaningless. It is always brought up to try and level the plaing field. It is always brought up to say: none of your accolades or accomplishments matter , the majority of you will not see the field in college. They are implying that none of it is important and that their daughter is just as good and just as deserving.

As another poster pointed out it is done to diminish the accomplishments of others while trying to elevat their daughter.

If that is not your intent then why do you focus on the negative. Just as easy to point out the fact that many of the girls are going to go on to have great college careers?

Sounds like a reality to check for some clueless parents to me, but I guess it's true when they say you can't fix notIntelligent
