Probably not for most kids and their parents. But if they are having fun, it doesn't matter. Many decide to specialize in lacrosse only to miss out of the joys of playing other sports for their high schools for maybe the chance to play D1 lacrosse or gain admission to maybe a better school academically that would not happen without lacrosse. In my opinion showcasing 14 year olds to college coaches is crazy. These coaches are to blame for the rise of these showcases, elite tournament teams, etc.

How would you rank these team tournaments/showcases? 1 to 7 appreciate feedback from anyone who has attended or knows anything about them.

Don't worry about Outlaws, with all due respect, talent level is very high vs last year. Many new players on team, very strong additions at all positions. Only 22 at any one tournament. Know the facts before you speak. Roster is a non-issue. It's not about winning individual games anymore, it's about exposure. In this category, OL's is at the very top. Which club does your son play for? How much support have they given him for individual showcases like Legacy, FPS, JR, and Showtime? Unless he's a top 6-8 kid on Express, Extreme or fl$. Then the answer for the most part is ZERO.

In all seriousness did Igloo and Legacy field teams in this age group. If yes, who are the coaches? How many teams for each? Legacy was a disaster last year and wonder how many players returned to that program.

How does the Hofsta tournament on 11/2 stack up?

Hofstra is a good local showcase at the varsity level. Not elite , but we'll run.

You are the one who slammed other clubs saying you won't get to the top individual show cases with them while patting yourself and the outlaws on the back . with 32 kids on the team the outlaws have the exact same individual show case issue and we are pointing out what apparently wasn't obvious to you. Sorry to damper your story, but they didn't play the 2018 a team. less than 1/3 of 2018 was there and rest were b team and 2019. Yet westchester is very good team.

Westchester 9 to 7 vs Terps , both teams missing a few for recruiting. Great game . These teams play a lot against one another , makes both groups better. Terps and north have great relationship which is based on getting both teams better . Depends on day on who wins , was not a beat up. 2groups that play against each other a lot probably at least 10 times.

Funny how things change in a week. When the 2018 team "beat up" on half of the 2017 in a meaningless scrimmage they pumped their chests. But now they get beat by the Express North team and the excuses come flying. Hilarious! They are all part of the same organization. People will be missing games and tournaments from now on because of showcases, prospect days etc. You rarely will have a full team at anything. You will figure out soon enough it is not about wins and losses - nobody cares. It is about getting your kid better and hopefully into a college you can be proud of to play lacrosse. That is the end game...

If you read the post someone made a snide remark about OL's not being best team at 2018. No one said they were, they just said they're going to some great events in the fall. The point is, if you're not with Exp, extreme, fl$ or OL you're son will have a difficult time getting invites to the top Showcases. The OL are doing a great job getting kids exposure. Sorry things are not working out for you at Express or 91, sounds like your son didn't get the invites you were hoping for. As far as the Tee Shirt, try putting it with clothes that don't fit and donate it to the less fortunate. Or is that beneath you?

It wasn't half the team, only 4 players. The most impressive was the kid who plays D. The rest were nothing special.

I'm an alumni. Since when our their too n in pen?

Kid not on Express, but no need for that kind of talk. My son was there and I thought the LI kids did pretty good.

Penn State is a top 50 school, ranked above other big lax destinations schools like Maryland,Syracuse,Colorado,Loyola,Rutgers,StonyBrook,Ohio State,Drexel,Towson,U Mass,etc
This is a school rich in tradition and offers a true college experience. They are overcoming a difficult time and have a program on the rise both athletically and academically. I would be proud to send my son there. Went on a visit and was very impressed with the coaching staff, academic support network and facilities. Plus it's an under 5 hour drive. Hoping for an offer!
