We don't have to…..LOL More of our girls get recruited to Div. 1 programs because we are the hotbed for lacrosse. Isn't that the goal of the club lacrosse scene, to get recruited. Yet your director chose to ignore a major recruiting event how many of your girls missed out???? They could of been seen, but your director took you guys to Colorado, with few college coaches. You have good players but more of our girls play college lacrosse at a higher level than yours does. The only reason you traveled to Colorado was so your director could win and use it as a marketing tool o bring more girls into her program. You New Yorkers are notoriously Fair Weather fans, parents are probably flocking to her tryouts since she won, "Gold, Silver and Bronze" with out playing a mid-atlantic team. Joke

There you go using Convenient stats, wasn't talking about all of NY, talking Long Island. Take upstate NY out of that number and it's closer to 80 girls from Long Island. Most of the upstate teams are smart enough to not go to the U15, but rather play in front of college coaches. Ha, even the upstate parents are smarter than you guys. Here we go again with not letting facts get in the way of truth. The population of LI is 8 million. The population of MD is 6 million. As far as LI having no major cities, that probably helps LI's numbers since it is suburbs. Being that lax is a upper-middle class, white dominated sport, I'm not sure the inner city kids of Baltimore add much to the recruiting numbers.

Nobody takes that tournament seriously. The field of teams is a joke. YJ just goes so that they can say they pummeled a bunch of terrible teams.

The population of LI (Nassau and Suffolk Counties) is approximately 2.9 million. That is what most people consider LI. Now if you expand that to include the NYC boroughs of Queens and Brooklyn, which are technically on LI, then yes, the population is approximately 8 million. With that said, there are very few lacrosse players that come out of Queens, and they do not even know what a lacrosse stick is in Brooklyn.

So lets not let the facts escape use will use your extensive knowledge of the N.Y metropolitan area as facts and use 8 million as a reference for us, and your 6 million for you, but then we must also add another 7.5 million for Virginia seeing as you chose to add them in, giving us a total of 13.5 million people. If I am not mistaken thats pretty close to double the size. Continuing to use your "logic" (if you want to call it that?) we get to erase about 5 million from that because Queens and Brooklyn are inner city areas and don't add much to the recruiting numbers (none actually, not one single recruit). To be fair you said Baltimore shouldn't count so lets get rid of those numbers (622,000) and we get around 12.8 million people for you and 3 million for us. Are you this stupid , TG has more going to Hofstra which is sub par academically, sub par womens lacrosse , sub par coaching all in lovely Hempstead( okay lovely Uniondale). Yes, it's a very good school (#37 ranked university by US News, just behind Case Western and ahead of BU and Lehigh). Also, has a very good undergraduate business program. I hope that answers your question.

Ranked #37 US News and world report, top 10 among publics. Guess it all depends on where your cutoff is for great. A very good school regardless, solid lacrosse program as well.

Big Elite programs are in low 6 figures.

Most public colleges have to publish their salaries. Lacrosse and Soccer don't pay great that's why they do all the camps and clinics so they can subsidize their salary using college facilities. Spallina at Stony Brook is at 108k with a top 10 program. This is why they all have their fingers in clubs, camps and clinics. Go to seethroughNY to see all state county town and school salaries

Be careful of how to rate a large school like Penn St. If you check a bit deeper into the US News report its admissions is rated as "Selective" as opposed to "More Selective" and "Most Selective". So you don't need great grades to get in. That is supported by its 54% acceptance rate which also is not great. 65% graduate which isn't bad but not great.

So why does US News rank it as high as 37? When you have 40,000 enrollment you can treat 10% of your student body very well--those folks who don't care about football, drinking, etc. Do they have a good business school? Sure. But not all 40,000 have access.

Someone mentioned Bucknell, which is #32. They have 3,500 students, more selective, 27% acceptance and 85% graduation. I'll throw a completely different look with Amherst College, #2 national Liberal Arts, 1,800 enrolled, most selective, 13% acceptance, 86% graduation. For fun, I'll pick another PA school that is private, Villanova. #1 Regional University, 7,100 enrolled, more selective, 45% acceptance, 85% graduation.

Also remember US News segments its list to National University, Regional University and National Liberal Arts. Forbes throws them all in one basket, where Penn St is #166. According to Forbes it's Williams, Stanford, Swarthmore 1-2-3. They base their poll on cost of education vs earning potential of graduates.

In the end, as I tell all folks I counsel, you have to pick the right school that fits your child.

looks like YJ 2020 should have went to Legacy with that coach....let the TG 2020 come over....dynamics will be a mess...have fun on the sidelines....Legacy may not be as strong...but will be coached at a higher level...those girls will develop and coach will not put up with the parent drama and the kids will play together....

Many of these internet trolls throwing out all these rankings and about this school and that school, its nauseating. Don't they realize it's mostly BS used to sell magazines and direct internet traffic to certain websites? All these people all wrapped up in this nonsense. Recently read an article in the WSJ, written by an Ivy educated former Ivy professor. He has written a book debunking all these myths about the alleged perceived value of these "highly ranked" schools. In the end, the actual value is far less than one would think. Here's some anecdotal evidence for you. Know a girl that went Notre Dame, non-athlete, nearly $62k a year now. Very highly rated school. Surely for some on here not high enough, but high nonetheless. Parents made just enough money not to receive a nickel in aid. When all said and done, well over a $250,000 investment in their daughter. Those people had to earn nearly $500,000 after their tax burden to come up with the net $250k. Two and half years into college she decides she wants to be a teacher. She graduates and gets a teaching position at a beautiful catholic school. Maybe making $40k. A girl that got hired along with her, graduated from Cortland and went to SUNY Farmingdale for two years prior to attending Cortland. Her parents total investment all in, was nearly $50k. Please, I have got to hear the justification for dropping the other $200,000 for the superior ranking. Let's hope the folks who had to earn an additional $400,000 in pre tax money, to achieve the same result as the SUNY kid, found the value in having that Notre Dame sticker on the back of their ten year old mini van...

Why would any top YJ go to Legacy, I get a 4-5 th team kid going and hoping to make the team but a kid on the top two YJ teams it would make no sense. Regardless of all the haters Curcio ,Jones are excellent coaches and you still have YJ connections and reputation. Legacy has 0 reputation , 0 connections and is an unknown at this point.

So funny , a couple TG top players want to come over to YJ and you make it sound like YJ has the issues. Blown up, thats funny. At this age you should expect 4-5 kids get moved to and from the top team or something is not right. As far as a new assistant coach coming over , if he or she is any good and adds something to the team then that would be great.
