Four period OT affair with WI pulling out the victory after illegal stick took away what would have been game winning goal at end of regulation for Hauppauge. (What a set of Lax Balls on those officials for calling that!!!)
Hey if the coach asks for a stick check, and the stick is illegal, what is the ref to do. He has to call off the goal. Bottom line is the stick was illegal....could have been for most of the game. Anyone remember the Syracuse/Florida semi-final game at SUNY Stony Brook a couple of years back? Stick check cost Florida the game--in OT.

How would that work? There are ten spots in round 1. Once those games are played, if you are correct, then that would make nine teams for the second round. Who would the 9th team play?
Doesn't add up.
Maybe top twelve and three get a bye.. I'll type slowly for you. Go here - www.sectionxi.org - and click on "brackets" at the top, then select Girls Lacrosse from the drop down menu. Division I shows how it will work if there are 13 playoff teams. If there are only 12 teams, as some posters have stated, there is no A13 team and A4 slides forward to the next round (getting the 4th bye). For those who still don't understand, wait a couple more days and it will all be set. It really won't affect anything once the seeding is set except that the #13 team doesn't make the playoffs. It just takes them out of the equation. It saves the #4 seed from having to play/beat the #13 seed. The #4 will play the winner of the #5 v #12 game on Monday.

The problem/issue was the way the referee checked the players stick. A previous poster stated that ANY girls stick would have been illegal the way this referee checked it. I was not an immediate decision by this referee. He handled the stick and the ball for quite awhile before making his decision to take away a goal.

looking at the Suffolk roster this looks to be more of an all star game than a showcase. Why would college coaches come if everyone is committed [quote=Anonymous][quote=Anonymous]LI All-American Showcase: My daughter just got her invitation to play in this showcase. We went online to check it out and it appears that every single coach of the teams playing is a former YJ player. So if every coach is a former YJ player is this showcase a "true showcase" or is it a YJ showcase? What colleges are registered to come? My daughter received a similar invite. I'm pretty sure the rosters have been posted. The event coincides w/ Hofstra Tournament on same weekend. Priced at $150 per girl for one game...kinda steep... Tried to get info about how selection was made and never got any confirmation... http://www.liallamericanlacrosse.com/ I don't think 2017 went out yet

Huntington beats ESM today in OT. Huntington goalie outstanding like 20 saves or something. What a performance, best goalie I ever seen.

ESM injuries really affecting their defense. Definitely weak spots on D now but their goalie is great!! I still see an ESM vs Huntington County Game let's hope ESM can put four solid defenders on field instead of 2 otherwise Huntington may take it again!!!

The midfield from both ends were barely functioning by game end!!! Manhasset subs every few minutes at the midfield position fresh legs means more stamina

Manhasset subs every few minutes at the midfield position fresh legs means more stamina I have noticed that many LI high school teams do not sub out midfielders. Not sure why--lack of confidence in the talent? This is not just top tier teams but mid-level teams as well. These middies are in for a shock at the next level.
