Class of 2029 at Maryvale has been pretty much set for a few years now and is absolutely loaded, and they're adding at least 1 other top player. Great class too! Bunch of Coppermine, two from M&D, and at least one from Heros. Mcdonogh, spalding, and SPSG also had top notch classes, the 2029 class is stacked and IAAM will continue to be the top league.

According to their website Mercy only has 12 players on their roster. Is this correct? If so, what happened to their program?

Girls in CT rarely go to private schools, imagine the programs at Towson High or Severna Park if all their kids stayed home. The elite 3-4 public schools in CT could beat anyone, it doesn’t mean that the IAAM A isn’t the best conference. Also, McD beat Darien last year, New Canaan was too scared to play any IAAM schools.

I understand there have been a good amount of Freshmen (Class of 28) that have made Varsity teams. Without calling out any individuals, even though this is a positive not negative, are there any teams that these 28's may get more PT than other schools? Any teams where the 28's will actually make a difference on the field, role players or but fill out the bench depth?

The competitiveness and absurdity have become over the top and the players are the one suffering. And NO, my daughter is past all of this and is curretnly playing D1, so no insults warranted.

Or maybe we feel lacrosse isn't worth the insane amount of money you are willing to pay just to say my DD plays lacrosse at a private school. Maybe it is better spent on a 529 plan. This does not discount a girl at a public school & her ability to play lacrosse at a high level, yet so many parents at private schools look down at public schools. Too many parents with this elitist attitude.

With the exception of a handful, they are probably filling out the 30 plus player rosters and get no playing time. Looking at some the names that made varsity has me shaking my head. Maybe, their club teams are holding them back or they had a massive improvement between Fall and tryouts.

But it does matter. My kid wanted to play against the best competition and I wanted her to get the best education. When an IAAM A team wanted her, it was a no brainer. Many people feel the same way, which is why it is the best conference in the country. Congrats on your D1 kid, it is truly an accomplishment. I was a public HS player who played D1 lacrosse too, but I was never so upset at the MIAA dudes for having that opportunity and I wasn’t bitter enough to try to say it wasn’t the best conference in the country.

Too many parents with this elitist attitude. We got a ton of money from the team, the 529 is topped off, and I didn’t send my kid to private school to brag. I did it because she wanted to play against the best and the school was a perfect fit academically. There is nothing elitist about that and I was a public school kid my entire life, so spare me the working class hero routine. Saying that the IAAM A conference is the best HS lacrosse league in the country isn’t a knock at public school kids at all, it is just a fact. And you reflexively responding in the way you did tells me that you are jealous and bitter, which is hilarious.

Milton HS????? Hahahaha. Go public schools! The fact that you would be surprised shows you have no clue. Milton is a great program, and much like Fairfield County CT, it is in a great lacrosse community that almost always sends kids to public HS. Good public teams will win from time to time. Man Valley will eventually beat an IAAM A team, Broadneck will beat a St Mary’s, Glenelg will beat NDP, it happens. But if you asked any college coach in America what conference/county is the best, we all know exactly what they would say. Most nationally ranked, most D1 recruits, most 4 and 5 stars, most everything. That doesn’t take away anything from any public school team or league.

Whipped? Not sure. No shot clock, can’t run through crease and refs who call it like NGLL rather than IAAM, you will get close scores.

There’s no hero’s green 28 double holdback. It’s not boys lacrosse where reclassing is socially acceptable. You’re talking girls. No parent is holding their daughter back two years.

Those public school rules should benefit the better/more athletic team. Are you suggesting IAAM teams would struggle playing public school rules? That’s an odd stance.

It depends on what rule you are talking about. The lack of a shot clock definitely plays into the hands of the underdog, and if anyone’s kid has played against any eagle stix team, they know they love to hold the ball forever down there if they get a lead. But Milton is an amazing team, go look at their commitment list. Maryvale didn’t schedule them because they were terrible.
