Severn is a SH@T school! Zero athletic students and
a handful of smart kids the rest fools!! AD and head
of school are clueless and always looking for a handout
for themselves. It’s a disgrace ! The losers on the board
are right there with them,

Ok psycho. Severn has no campus, athletic facilities do not compare to the other MIAA schools , the teams are not competitive in any sport and the Headmaster and AD are useless and clueless
(they couldn’t even build the stands correctly).

Always a bottom feeder!!

Kind of doubt it - not an easy pre-league schedule, they won't hit .500 there

In the league, I'd break them down into wins, maybes, and obvious Ls

Wins - JC, Severn
Close games - MSJ, StP, Loyola, maybe Gilman
Not even close Ls - everybody else

I would say the ceiling for StM is probably 8 wins total; the floor is probably 4-5 wins.

Pre-Season MIAA rankings IMO:

1. Spalding - Rob Hop is the GOAT
2. Mcdonogh - BMilly is OVERRATED
3. BL - Only setback is their awful goalie
4. Loyola - Best 4 goalies in the nation, and the ghost of Peter Laake will carry them this season
5. Gilman - UNC kid is a chiller
6. St. Pauls- Good offense I suppose
7. MSJ - They have that one good attack kid
8. Severn - *cricket sounds*
9. CHC - Hasn't won a big game in any sport. Their athletics as a whole are terrible and have been going downhill since covid.
10. St. Marys - close the school already
11. JC - self-explanatory

BL goalie is D1 recruit. All out top goalie in nation. Might want to reexamine yourself.

1. Rob Hop is OVERRATED
2. BMilly will win another ring
3. BL's goalie is the LEAST of their worries, he will be one of the league's best
4. Loyola will just miss the playoffs... they can pnly play 1 goalie at a time
5. Gilman UNC kid is good but he's not nearly enough
6. St. Paul's good offense won't carry them too far
7. MSJ has more than one good attack kid - UNDERRATED
8. Severn will shock some
9. CHC will step up this year and make the finals (you heard it here first)
10. St. Mary's will definitely struggle mightily
11. JC has good kids but should play B

Thoughts on the New Balance / Nike team tryouts? Are the teams de facto picked already? In the past Nike has seemed to have more talent show up. Any idea why?

IMO - Goalies, whether good or not are to be left alone. Any kid who sits in the line of fire of a shot going about 90+ mph and doesn't flinch is good in my book. Takes some big !@#s to do it so give all goalies a pass. If you don't agree let me kick you in the, get back up and ask for it again, then we will listen to you complain.

Well at least they got that going for them. Tough to be unathletic and backup goalie.

What has happened to Calvert Hall sports, just a look at the winter sports they are towards the bottom in basketball, wrestling ( looks like Gilman is running away with wrestling) swimming, squash. They are doing well in indoor track. Seems strange, I always thought of them as one of the tops

Who/what are driving the MIAA playoffs to be continually at Navy?

Out of the local colleges in the footprint, it’s the least optimal by far to have these games.

Loyola or Homewood are the best two options followed by UMBC and Towson.

With Navy a distant 5th.
Don’t even need to bring up the geography of where most of the schools are - leaving that aside it’s just too big of a stadium.

Calvert Hall has lost its way and it’s win at all costs; the problem is there has been very little winning lately! Changes are needed across the board but unfortunately will never happen with Mulford/Kelly running the show for the entire athletic department.

Money Talks Morality Walks

This is so true. In terms of the fall, soccer was a mess due to fresh lax players being guaranteed spots (on var and JV) and have heard horror stories about the freshman JV lax dads on soccer sidelines. Var football was not much better. Water polo was good but nobody cares. None of this bodes well for lacrosse season. Mulford needs to get a handle on whats going on but he won't/can't due to Kelly influence. The whole senior goalie thing speaks for itself and paints the picture perfectly of whats going on there (unfortunately).

The stereotypical athlete bs culture started bleeding over into the rest of the school. We cleaned house with football because they couldn't win the big game. It's playing out similarly with lacrosse since covid. The stories are out there, and posted on here, they don't need to be rehashed.

Should be at Homewood every year. Only reason that its at Navy is because Mr MDLax from Spalding is still footing the bill

I guarantee you that anybody NOT from Severn has any idea, or cares about, who their Headmaster is, you just keep posting and posting and posting about the guy. I'm sorry that your donation for better bleachers was misappropriated, and instead used to fund the girls flag football team, but that's between you and "headmaster."

Spalding parent here. I just wanted to bring to light the huge mess that happened last Friday night in the Loyola vs Spalding sixes game. There were certain points at that game where I felt it was necessary to pull my son away from the game. Loyola players were hooting and hollering the whole game. Not only what they were saying offended my son, but it also offended me aswell. For some odd reason Loyola didn’t have a coach on their sidelines, so that pretty much gave those punks free range to say whatever they want. As a concerned parent I hope that these boys will be properly disciplined for their actions.

What did they say? “Hooting and Hollering” what does that mean jawing back and forth is part of the game. However, going after family and using racial slurs is unacceptable. I pulled and benched a kid #1 player for using racial slurs towards another player. Needless to say, never did it again and his parents were embarrassed because of how he represented his last name. Out of the thousand of players I coached, that one player and the incident is always the first thing brought up by other players. What do you want to be remembered by?

The 2026 goalie who transferred in from Spalding, er, Severna Park? He's a solid goalie - just committed to Salisbury. He won't start this year over the senior BL goalie who is committed to Navy's 2026 class (after a year at NAPS), though...

Navy stadium is nice, but it always looks empty.

But as long as the Spalding fan wants to pay for it, that works for us. The longer ride home on the bus after winning is amazing for the boys.

If your son is playing high school ball, and you're walking over to the coach's sideline to "pull your son from the game" then don't worry, your son already is already ashamed of you, and college coaches will see you coming a mile away.

I'd be interested to compare side by side "Loyola's Rambunctious Hooting and Hollering" vs. what happens in the Spalding bathrooms on an average day.

Cry me a river, Karen. It's all part of the game. Loyola may not be known for many things, but what you're describing is fairly common with its teams

Been saying it for years to many alumni hires at the school. The AOB needs to hold this school accountable.
