The top 7 or 8 kids from Mooselax and Jesters will get recruited to other teams. The rumor mill is already starting. Some teams are practicing 3/4 times per week, scrimmaging, those are the teams that will have a great summer. Most clubs have poor offseason programs Players are always being recruited. Nothing really will change until HS when the clubs that have the reach to recruit out of state. They’ll always be a player or two that moves, but nothing beyond that. Unless a HC would leave and go to another, which never or rarely happens. Or until the 91/Express kids start reclassing too. lol….please… don’t start that conversation on this age yet. It exhaustively gets covered over 100s of replies.

2032 Observations from the fall is that the 2nd teams or 2nd tier clubs really struggled. There are 4 or 5 teams that will not last beyond this season in my opinion. No need to list the teams. Everyone sees the scores. There is absolutely no value in just throwing a team in tourneys just to forfeit or get blown out. This shouldn’t happen because there are good coaches (not necessarily clubs) that will focus on development and more importantly put the team on the right path to success. I think people forget that in travel the families are the clients and the clubs have to earn the business. You have a steep learning curve if you think like that about clubs . Unless you are one of top few players that are on the club team that are above everyone else in ability, you are cannon fodder for the clubs. Which is majority of players. Maybe so. But only if you allow yourself to be put in that position. This is not complicated. If the experience is bad then move on. There was a lot of bad lacrosse this fall in my opinion. And there is no reason to think those teams will improve. So why stay on as you say “fodder”. So move on to another team that is looking for players. Start by practicing with the team and get the free look. Some clubs definitely do that.

Looking for a home now means team isn’t good iimo Or the team is just starting because of interest and doing it correctly vs shoving a product on the field that isn’t ready, which drives me nuts. Hence the money grab on travel.

91 likely. The teams that dominated 2-4th grade will begin to level. Unfortunately these 2nd tier clubs struggle to hang onto players. 91, Legacy combo, Express will all be the top 3 eventually. And those are the clubs that have the highest amount of recruits.

Saw a very talented 91 Valor team at Battle in the Barn this past weekend. They will be competing with the Yeti Wolves for top LI team in the spring.

They barely won against no-name teams in box. They have to actually get on the field with some good teams before anyone can say they are competitive with the top LI teams.

Valor can absolutely play with Igloo outside. Nice to see Igloo play hot potato with the ball down 1 with 30 seconds left in box game.

Rebels archers are far above the rest C’mon. Stop. The OGs don’t stick around and they don’t play in the proper events in the HS years. NAL, NLF, Alliance and Naptown. Those are the premier events imho and where teams that say they are best should play. Otherwise, c’mon. It’s 91, Express, Legacy and S2S (and igloo) are seemingly with the best recruits every year. However, if this club journey is for fun and enjoyment vs an end game of recruitment, no need to club switch. Hopefully, it can be a great and fun experience and in 5 years time the recruitment comes as a bonus. But I have been doing this a long time and the club you play means a lot.

Pre-season rankings 1. Legacy Yeti 2. Rebels Archers 3. 91 Valor 4. Mooselax Orange 5. Express O’Connell 6. Jesters 7. Shore Frogmen 8. True Blue 9. Rebels East 10. 91 Atlas
*Yeti and Rebels will go back and forth for top team and above the rest *91 and Express dark horses, both will have strong summers, will establish the 2nd tier *Moose, Jesters and Shore will battle for the 3rd tier *The others the 4th tier with True Blue most likely to make a move up

But those rarely have any sustainable success for a variety of reasons. Play club and do a few events together like most towns. Because AA players should play on top teams and A/B players should find their travel level. There is more value in that. You want kids to play with different players and hear from a different coaching voice. Then everyone meets up in HS.

You would all be making a mistake to think 91 and Express won’t be top level teams eventually. Are upstart clubs like Moose, Rebels and Jesters putting out great teams at this age, yes. And did Igloo and Legacy make an interesting move to become AA, yes. But 91 and Express pull in national talent by middle school. They likely don't heavily recruit for it, it comes their way because of the clubs they are. And I have seen it happen over and over. The US Club rankings mean something to clubs from a brand perspective. Look at the 2029 rankings that just came out.

I agree with your statement…when it no longer becomes about Long Island and the reclasses come in they will be good. The conversation was about this year and 91 valor will not compete on a field with the top 10 teams in the country this year. They should come to a decent tournament and try to play some competition. They had one of the weakest schedules in club lacrosse in the Fall. But you are right that when age no longer matters in 9th grade they will be relevant again. The only problem will be 70% of the current team will be playing somewhere else.

I love how 91 and Express keep bragging about how they will dominate in 3-5 years once they replace the current roster with reclasses and national talent. Never mention development. Which is the only thing parents reading this thread care about. The message above just reads - Ok we agree our current team isn't the best. We dont care, we are just sucking as much money as we can from younger teams by finding parents willing to overpay for a brand name. Current roster will be replaced when it matters. Don't know how the management or coaches (or whoever keeps posting about future dominance) can be so tone-deaf.

Pay that tuition and fool hotel fees and travel the country for tournaments playing other teams from Long Island. Spend that money! Then when you can finally benefit from being on those 2 teams the coaches kid will start or some fly in double reclass from Florida will start over your kid. All the clubs can get your kid recruited but everyone will sign over their kids happiness to play on the top 2. Trust me the top two will empty your wallet with pay to play practices, tournaments out of state on holiday weekends . Now S2S is in on it too. Director is coaching at LuHi hoping to get his hands on some reclassed there.

NE Select kids are realizing the national lacrosse events are all a money grab, national lacrosse rosters will thin out as they get older as families realize it’s a waste of time Yup. Complete money grab. But they will always find someone who has a ton of money to waste and FOMO. Combine that with money grab tourneys like the circuit and you will have plenty of kids lining up. I finally realized that all these clubs (91, Rebels, Igloo etc) use these national teams as a hammerhead to recruit out of state players to their Long Island teams.
