I am looking to sign my 2030 Goalie up for some winter goalie trainings and I was looking for opinions. I am interested in either 2Way's Stopper school or Next Save Lacrosse's (PT Goalie Coach) Winter training. 2 Way is charging 900 for nine 90 min sessions and NSL is charging 1200 for six 90 min sessions. Has anyone done wither and what can you tell me?

2way stopper school is just a bunch of college kids shooting on the goalies. Pure $$$ grab. No real teaching on technique from coaches. Not really worth the price tag, better off grabbing couple buddies and shooting at a local turf field if the weather isn’t too bad. Don’t know much about Next Save so can’t speak on that.

Find GoalieSmith for best program and then Next Save as Madalon is a real goalie, real experience and real connections. Play the short game and the long game. Get connected to a program with connections and quality instruction.

Has anyone done wither and what can you tell me? Having gone through club lacrosse 3x already, I would ask both 2way and Next Save the following: Who is providing the goalie instructions, what are his qualifications and will there be anyone else assisting him? Will he (and assistant) be attending all sessions? Is there a participation limit of goalies in the winter session? (The coach to player ratio is vital info). Winter training for non-2way players is obviously a supplemental tryout. Beware that 2way 2030 Black has at least 2 goalies and there was drama involving the Express North 2030 Black’s goalie that jumped to 2way in October. EN has made some unprofessional statements about 2way and the perceived process that the player left EN. Also, 2way has 2 teams per grade. The Black teams are the favorite teams. If your son is on a Carolina team, make plans to leave 2way ASAP, as they only view Carolina players as the unwanted step-children in 2ways family. Just follow 2way social media, it’s only players from the Black teams. No doubt, re-classing or going to a private school does help your son in making a Black team.

My son ended up signing up for 2way's stopper school and the first lesson was good. The training is being ran by their goalie coach Thomas Brill who was pulling kids out of drills in order to give them one on one instructions when necessary. He helped my son with his stance and made a few tweaks. So far happy we decided on this.

They return their core another year mature + some newcomers, & some much needed bolstering at long pole. Probably not a lot of depth chart change offensively. But they are as deep as they have probably ever been. Time will tell but the schedule is plenty tough enough

IP is loaded this year. Should do very well Please confirm, is this the same statement you made last year because I thought last year was supposed to be their best team ever but they were over matched at every position from the faceoff dot to goalie they were second best. Pole are where they need help. Watched them play Don Bosco and the Duke kid was making them run in to each other. Yes, they have a great athlete and a true top talent on the team but the coach is not very good. So are they loaded and going to win some games or whats the goal? Win another state title which couldnt have an easier path if they played JV teams the whole way. For a private school that can recruit you would think they would be better.

A - Mamo B - Greeley & Ytown C - Rye & Somers D - Bronxville
Seems to be a big gap between Mamo, Rye, Greeley, Somers, Ytown and everybody else...

D might not be as easy as you think unless B-ville addressed their hole at goalie, those are pretty big shoes to fill.

Lets take one step at a time, everything you said is factual (except the coach and being overmatched at every position, disagree with that).

Brunswick would rub IP into the ground... IP gets worked by Rye and Greeley & Somers if they played...Glorified Section 1 team, joke operation. The only reason to send you kid to IP is if your town team really @ChillLaxin, other than that, you are paying for section 1 lacrosse and a terrible education.

So not true... 2Way has a great goalie coach Brill. Your way off. Its expensive, but, 2way coaches the @ChillLaxin out of the kids.... I think their youth teams speak for themselves....

So not true... 2Way has a great goalie coach Brill. Your way off. Its expensive, but, 2way coaches the @ChillLaxin out of the kids.... I think their youth teams speak for themselves.... Is your son on a 2way team, which one? Or are you the Father that was only seeking goalie training in the fall? 2way is a great program if your son is one a Black teams. All of the Carolina teams (even the disbanded 2027 Carolina) are second class clients, paying the same rate as the Black team's clients. There is a high attrition rate for the Carolina teams. All of the Carolina players want thier opportunity to make the Black team, but chances of moving to Black really depend on re-classing, going to (Brunswick, Taft, Trinity-pawling, Westminster, Avon & Berkshire) or by some chance your are a unicorn. As i mentioned, 2Way 2027 Carolina played in 22 games in the 2023-2024 season and puff, they are gone in 2024-2025. 2Way's website even still lists that team on thier website. You can also look at their social media; do they ever highligt a Carolina player. 2Way should have kept the business model of one team, per grade. Just like PT's model. So, if your son is on a Carolina team, start making plans to find a new club to play for in 2025-2026.

Class B: Somers & Greeley. Ytown always in contention but close 3rd
Class C: Rye
Class D: wide open IMO. Bronxville the favorite though

Yorktown always in a no win situation. If they win it’s no big deal but if they loose …everyone is happy!

How was box this weekend? Preds, Warhogs, primetime ? Not sure about those programs, but Superstar was at the northeast regional in PA. They did as expected (some good, some bad), seems like this is the norm for superstar too. First, my son is on the JV team, and we were informed on Friday that there will be no jv team and that the boys are to play the varsity team. with! The varsity went 1-3, with only one game being really blown out. The other two losses were close games. They did beat 845 box, a rockland program. RC and staff are extememly knowledgeable, were great players, are good coaches, but the business adminstration of superstar is horrible. Communication from RC is horrendous! He should honestly hire someone to run the business end because he is pathetic. But no one can get that arrogant person to respond to an email/text in a timely manner. I'm done with superstar after this season.

RC @Superstar is consistent at a minimum!! he is very difficult to deal with even on a good day - I guess being a middle school gym teacher was not how he thought things would go
Otto @91 Warhogs very similar to RC .Angry guy living in the past , only difference is, Otto never played anywhere worthwhile
Kirkaldy at PT - head coach at Trinity Pawling School seems to be doing a decent job of building out the Prime Time Box offering -
Shea at 845 seems to have built a great program , seems as if getting away from the Westchester area draws a different mix
Where do all these teams practice?

Agreed on the superstars end. So unorganized and unprofessional as of the last few years.
Not too much info on the warhogs program.
845 operates mainly in rockland but they always have solid teams and mostly everyone in the program has good things to say about it. Guy who runs it is very passionate and does a great job making it enjoyable for the kids.

Actually confirmed with some old teammates too that he is one arrogant laxer. Anyone that goes near UVA should have their head checked. Imagine being at a team dinner with Colsey and Millon? Only thing RC doesn’t have is the annual NLF video showing what a l0$3r he is. Millon cornered that market. The UVA locker room is going to be a bigger dumpster fire than UNC……though with all the bong hits going on in UNC locker room Tar Heels may be the ones to start a fire sooner. Let’s review our local landscape EN- Schrieber in name only. Not a player, not an uber laxer but not for everyone JH at Eclipese- Great player, good person, not good at recruiting but ego is generally in check DE at 2way- Great player, very nice person, does require the reclass but would help anyone needing help MM Preds- Holy biggest lax bro laxer out there and is proud of it. Dumpster fire just like UNC. Go figure. MB 91TS- True family man, family lax program and just good people. Not trying to be anything more than what he is which is a good person and very good lax player
