Are you referring to the coach who underachieved for years despite having significant resources and top players, until a particular father essentially handed him multiple championships by providing players from his club?

Spalding wins it all over BL.

The Hounds and StP fight it out for 3/4 with a slight chance the McD players ignore coaching get there

McD does have talent, but coaching is their kryptonite

CH does ok,

The rest we dont even need to talk about as they will be terrible and embarrassing to MIAA standards

Wonder how the possible new NCAA rules are going to affect college recruiting. The New rule would allow players to 5 years of eligibility rather than 4 while still keeping the red shirt years on the docket. Also gettting rid of the National Letter of intent rules.

you are a complete @ChillLaxin - BL will be TERRIBLE and may not even make the playoffs. Gilman and StP don't have the horses. Its Spalding, McDonough or Calvert Hall in a 3 team race

Add in the ruling that Juco doesn't count towards eligibility and on age/17 year old high school juniors will be competing with 20 year old freshman transfers who can play until they are 26. Also, colleges will need 20% fewer recruits each year due to the increase in eligibility years.

McD easily has the best starting 10-11

AS has a cohesive unit that could beat anybody on a given day

CH has strength in numbers

BL coaching will get the most out of a pretty empty cabinet

StP has 2-3 very good players but not enough depth to really compete

Gilman will be competitive but no one will fear playing them (not enough offense)

Loyola will also have strength in numbers but lack CH’s coaching prowess

Others - good luck

Stop pretending it's not McD vs New Cut Rd. I don't like it either, but that's where it's headed (if only for this year).

CHC has a chance, probably the first of 4 (more) real chances in a row. Look for 2026-2028 championships to be Spalding vs CHC.

BL is constantly squandering loyal players to make space for donors' kids and boarders, and a number of 2026s - 2028s players left BL for other MIAA-A schools last fall as a result.

Loyola is doing what they do, take an enormous number of "good" players, cut 1/3 of them based on obtuse performance metrics found in a Babylonian temple, then only play 1/3 of the remaining players, and get smoked in the 1st round of the MIAA playoffs.

St. Pauls aspires to Loyola's status. Won't get there with the 2028s class but may, as the 2029s hit varsity in 2026. However, still relevant and will win games in 2025. May surprise a top 4 team at some point, and will absolutely go neck and neck with Loyola, as has been the trend. And then lose, as has been the trend.

MSJ - takes an enormous number of "OK" players and will almost win a bunch of games. Easy team & school to root for.

JCS - aspires to be Coach Sett and St. Pauls. Not this year. Will root for them too.

St. Mary's - what a mess. Where to begin?

Severn - you'd think they could hit the recruiting jackpot as St. Mary's is being continuously alligator-rolled by Spalding for the past 2+ years (and it's going to get worse). Cmon Severn, get your sales pitch tuned up. Not that many Annapolis parents want to send their sons to the 2nd best school facilities on New Cut Road. Severn's a great little school with great facilities and a great reputation academically and athletically. Admissions should step up lol.
