Let’s hope one day that Lacrosse gets their act together as the 2025 class has made a mockery of the sport by holding back many kids to 2026.

The very guys (college coaches) you want your kids to go play for in college are driving the reclass process.

I have only heard of one player in the 2025 class that was asked to come in with 2026 class. I have also heard of one in the 2026 class asked to enter as a 2027. Where have you heard of it being so many it has become a mockery? Most the kids I know reclassed in middle school and no college asked them to do that.

Of course they are. The so called great leaders of men, Tillman, Lars, Petro etc are all in on older holdback players while they tell how they are only for the character of boys . Total @ChillLaxin

Looking to get my son in some showcases this summer. I saw the Blatant Exposure but it’s $600!! That seems insane to me. Is this the norm or is this a complete money grab? What involved can possibly justify that price?

This might be the worst showcase out there. One of the worst money grabs ever. My friend said it best after we left. “The Brennans and the Rebels should be arrested for grand larceny “

Blatant Exposure looks likes it’s going to be really good this year. It’s nice to have a good showcase on Long Island.

Actually I would say it's one of the worst. VERY few if any coaches attend. I've seen a few volunteer coaches at this event but that is it.

That's what they cost. Plus travel/hotel/meals if they aren't local. Just prepare yourself for the pain.

Google the showcases (1%, Primetime, etc) all vary. Primetime is around 300 but 1-day, best in class doesnt even list prices but is 1-day. 1% is $595 and 1day. Looks like Blatant is 2-days with college coaches, trainers and guest speakers. With any showcase, check the colleges coming (ask them for the list!!!) and if you can, check out the competition (look on social media), and location matter ( hotel, travel, food, etc). End of the day, it's all going to cost money. Just make sure its running. Ive heard of people showing up to showcases and its cancelled with no communication, there are 12 college coaches (all volunteers) or theres no "good kids" there. When you look up Blatant Exposure, there are coaches committed and posted, and kids too! I guess we will see.

Yup. And most of the coaches they promise will come......won't be there. The rebels are one the scummiest organizations out there.

None of the top players in 27 age group will be there. Many of the top players in the 26 have already committed. Keep in mind almost all top tier program assistants are there for a payday. Assistant coaches salaries at top tier programs are around 40k-60k They do these things to supplement their income. You have a much better shot at getting “noticed” at a prospect day. And even then it’s a slim chance. I had a friend who was “selected “ to go the spolight last year. He paid 1k. He committed to a D3 school.

There are a lot of routes anyone can go. I asked an assistant coach who I played with in college. He makes over 100k and enjoys going to Showcases to coach kids in a different setting; maybe connect with kids who can recruit come 9/1 or the following year. If parents pay $$ for a showcase, and they have a lot of coaches, then the $$ is worth it. Never know where a kid may "fit." People think D3 is bad, when in fact it doesnt. The fact is we pay a lot of money for sports for our kids, want to feel like they are getting something out of it. I agree with doing the research on what is being offered, never mind the fact that not having to travel for ANOTHER thing, especially in August after the travel season, may work for many! Reality is not many "top kids" at any prospect day. Hopefully the Showcases people choose give you bang for your buck.

The original point was about the Blatant Showcase. This showcase has been known to be a money grab with very few "contacts" from coaches. If you buddy makes over 100k as an assistant (in salary alone) then he's an assistant at a top school or he's supplementing with camps, showcases etc.. I still think it's a little weird he would tell you how much he makes. When evaluating a showcase its important to see the following

1). The type of kids that have signed up. if you have D1 aspirations and none of the talent at the showcase is D1 then you should pass.
2). The type of coaches who have signed up. If it's low level assistants or volunteer assistants then they are probably there for a pay day.
3). The D2 and D3 schools are a crowded field. The lesser known schools are desperately trying to fill roster spots. Could you get a look from one of these schools at a showcase? Sure. But you also could have received the same response with sending film and saving the 600 bucks.
4). Have honest conversations with your kids about their talent level. If your kid is D3 player and wants to sign uo for a D1 style showcase......it's a waste of money.
5). Signing your kid up for a showcase in 8th grade is an absolute waste of money. College coaches are NOT looking at 8th or 9th graders. If you want to sign up your kid in 9th grade for one or two to get there feet wet then that's fine. Just realize that every coach is looking at 10 graders and above to fill their recruiting classes.

In the end if you have a ton of money to burn and want to sign your kid up for everything have at it. Most of us don't have an endless supply of cash
