Dreams came true and friendships made along the way. Sold the boat a few years back. Kid never liked being on it and it was a bigger pain in the @ChillLaxin than any drive back from DE. I guess its what you value in the end. We liked time with our kids and friends, you liked time alone on the sea by yourself. To each his own.....and youre insane AND BITTER if you ever paid $500 a night.

I guess you are the one guy who likes the belt parkway traffic.

Anyone that suggests giving up lacrosse and buying a boat is a clown. The memories made in hotels (some nice, some gross), on the drives, playing the game my kids love will live on forever. We still regale over the wild trips… A boat? Lolol

Anyone that suggests giving up lacrosse and buying a boat is a clown. The memories made in hotels (some nice, some gross), on the drives, playing the game my kids love will live on forever. We still regale over the wild trips… A boat? Lolol I played D1 college lacrosse. My kid played travel lacrosse for a few years. Many many trips to MD and DE. They were fine. Had some good laughs in the hotel bars and some nice times on the sidelines. Met some good people. We then stopped when my kid was in 8th grade and he and I never looked back or regretted it for a second. All that time traveling and money spent for mostly mediocre lacrosse development is just not worth it in my opinion as far as what you are giving up (time/money/family having to split up for weekends to cover all the activities) v. what you are getting. My family is much happier making our memories going to the beach on summer weekends or visiting friends or having relaxing weekends. My kid still plays high level lacrosse and he works on his skills in a variety of ways (with me or some trainers that I pay a fairly small amount to). There is no right or wrong and if club lacrosse involved working out and local games and maybe 1 travel weekend - the way it was years ago - then I might feel differently. But in its present state I personally think it's for suckers.
