I also heard that Jesters are building their own indoor training facility. If that’s true they would be the only club on Long Island who is prioritizing training and that’s all I care about for my kid.

Igloo failed miserably and will fail again. Heard a rumor they put Sam Tilt as girl’s Director who has been fired from three clubs in four years. That’s a bit alarming I’d say! Did Tilts leave Jesters? Going to Igloo as Girls Program Director (and coach of a few teams)...she's fantastic - good pick up by them Agreed she has been fantastic with my daughters and more important than anything my daughters leave her confident and happy. Great role model and I can't imagine the type of person, or their motive, in spreading detest.

But not big enough to scrimmage go full field

As some of us are looking to switch clubs this summer, it would be great to poll
1. How many times a week and how long do you practice 2. Parent coach or trainer led practices 3. Goalie coaching during practice
Would be great to hear from the clubs that have contributed so far on this thread.. Jesters, Liberty, YJ, Top Guns, and anyone else.
Thank you.

I'll assume you believe that so called trainers are better than parent coaches. There are plenty of parents who know the game, can coach and are fully invested into the team.

91 practices 2-3 x per week based on season. Outdoors at Hills, indoors in Commack. Head coach is in HOF at stony Brook as a player and is very high energy and great w the girls. Other 3 coaches are dads who have girls on the team but all coach in high school as well. Girls director does goalie training and they have an off season goalie program. Great group of girls

I also heard that Jesters are building their own indoor training facility. If that’s true they would be the only club on Long Island who is prioritizing training and that’s all I care about for my kid. Doubtful, given where interest rates are and the banks are not lending like they used to. The cost to service the debt would be more than what they are collecting in fees For all the teams ($x,xxx per player) . They could go to an alternative lender but would be more expensive than bank financing. There’s always the option that someone would pony up the cash but doubtful. so bottom line… unlikely you also don't need indoor space to prioritize training, you just need access to fields consistently.

This model only works if you have a partner in another sports who can committ to taking a good chunk of the field time. The rumor for a while has been the SUSA is looking to build an indoor soccer facility. I'm sure they would be more than open to having a lax club share costs with them
