That is the point on USA Lacrosse. That system already exists. If a tournament went through USA Lacrosse, and required all the players and coaches to be US Lacrosse members (They'd have to submit their numbers as part of the registration) That would confirm ages/eligibility.

The weakness lies in there is no mandate to use them.

Us lacrosse as the governing body of the sport is failing! A complete and total joke of a organization.

Further, what is lost often when age classification is discussed is the growth of the game. Lacrosse is growing, but would grow more significantly if age based enforcement at all levels (even Town) were implemented similar to other sports. Lack of structure in this area scares away the casual parent who may be wary about a sport they know little about and may see as violent. Youth lacrosse, and especially the summer and fall circuits, needs to do a better job including the more casual and/or less athletic player. It can't only be the bastion of the prospective college athletes. Especially in non-hot bed areas (where growth is needed), teams with wide variances in age are squaring off, which chases away many parents who frankly are not used to seeing this in soccer, hockey and baseball.

Spot on. Its pretty gross whats happened to youth club lacrosse with the lack of age enforcement.

Can someone explain if they are enforcing age rule from now on? Can you link the source so that we can all see? TIA.

I have not seen an announcement anywhere, but at todays practice it was all any of the parents spoke about.
Its supposed to start being enforced after the summer of '23 season.
Age restrictions end after U-15.

If its true all I can say is - Finally!

I haven’t seen anything in writing but I would guess that the change will not impact anyone currently in middle school. They will be able to “age” out. If you have a child in elementary school then you should pay close attention to how it impacts you.

I think that's fair.

How does it help if age restrictions end after U-15?

Because they are in HS at that point.

If the kids want to reclass in HS to dominate younger kids in HS this is acceptable because the athletes will all need to play older kids. What they are trying to do at the younger ages is promote safety because no college is recruiting anyone at U-15. It is not impressive when a 14 yr old athlete plays against a 12 yr old and since the colleges aren't looking what is the point? Safety wins. Makes sense.
