Funny considering they won the last 6 championship tournaments they played in and back to back Lax for the Cure

They were lucky to come from behind against BLC, Hero's and YJ the way they did. Point is, they aren't dominating, their lack of depth will hurt them against upper tier teams like this weekend,

Doesn’t make a lot of sense. Maybe it’s their depth that wore teams down and that’s why they keep coming from behind and winning.

We usually play them tough. But you can't argue with their success. They win most tournaments they enter.

They deserve respect. They play hard and clean for the most part. They aren't as flashy as most teams. But will always play hard until the end. Hopefully we play them in the final. You wanna beat the top dog. Right now they are on top.

Those weren't tournaments, 2/3 were only game of day. Other was first of day. They could play their studs and not the bench. Same won't happen this weekend, when they play BLC as third game of the day.

Any predictions for this weekend at Lax for the Cure.

- Can YJ A win it all or at least make the semis?
- Will Top Guns or Gaghan win their group and make playoffs?
- WIll Legacy win a game?
- WIll it take more than an hour to find a parking spot mid-day Saturday?

YJA at worst will be 2-2. BLC going to be a lot for them to handle. Hero's trying to beat them again is going to be tough.
Neither Top Guns (Coppermine or MDU) nor Gaghan (Pride) is going to win their group but both "could" make playoffs.
Legacy "could" beat TEAM ONE or TEAM 180 if things go right.
Parking is going to stink, as usual.

Pretty nice picks

YJA looked strong in pool play. Surprisingly it was their defense that let them down in the playoffs against Steps CA

Nice call on Top Guns. Their defense and goalie looked awesome. They are two offensive players away from really being able to compete against anyone

YJB is probably the best coached team on the island. Truly greater than the sum of its parts. You watch them and don’t think they have a chance but don’t make mistakes, capitalize on opponent mistakes and don’t miss open shots

Legacy had no business playing in this group period. They thugged it up to keep some games relatively close but are nowhere near an A level team

Parked by the police department and got out in 20 minutes both days

Congrats to Aces. Their star #2 is the best 7th grader I have seen in many years. I bet YJA is doing everything they can to get her to move over.

From the M&D family. Congrats to Aces. Always a dogfight and today was no different. Congrats on grinding out the win and winning in OT. You guys were awesome.

And next week Aces and M&D will run it back in Hershey. Every game is a war. Both great teams. And winner next week will get Eagle Stix or Hero’s in bracket play. Another great weekend with mid-Atlantic close behind!

is FLG best on the island? Some dads have been saying that they beat YJ pretty badly. I’ve watched their games, great coaching, all the girls look close, they definitely look to be in the deserving in the top 10 spot.

Are they the best? No. Can they beat YJA again? Yes. They are very well coached , but YJA's talent advantage is just too great.

From my Perspective, this is how 27 on the island stand up

Hysterical! Smart players that play together. Great (not goo) coaching. And a small roster where they can add a few girls and not cost players playing time. I’d say they will be ok!

if they can beat them why aren’t they the best, as a whole the team the team is very talented, that is the only thing that matters. Yes YJA has some incredible players but that does not matter if they can not work together.

Well something has to be going right if the teams small roster can deliver them good wins against top 10 teams. YJA has absolutely phenomenal players on their team but still could not convert against FLG. Why? Because FLG coaching, I think that FLG really took time to realize what they need to beat them, that’s good coaching. YJA mommy and daddy coaching is not going to work in the near future, that is why they are struggling. Probably 15 players on play on that team and other girls (who are very good) ride the bench. FLG is definitely not made up of the one very good and tall draw girl and the goalie who is also very good. The team has a very good middie line and two great X attackers. The defense also seems to be solid.

In comparison to YJA, every top team on the island (with the possible exception of TGA) is well coached.

If YJA gets it’s act together they have the deepest and most talented team. That’s a big “if”. Once they also begin to accept and respect that there are other quality teams, that may help them as a team in the long run.

FLG has a very talented and team oriented squad but not deep at all. If they add a few pieces and they continue to play as they do, they will always be in the conversation.

YJB continues to be the big surprise and continue to play extremely well and seem to be extremely well coached whether at tournaments or the prep going into tournaments.

Haven’t seen TG play at all this year. I’m sure they have a very good squad.

FLG needs a few more players. Can't sustain with 15 players. Especially during tourney season.

Ultimately for FLG to be competitive nationally, they need a couple things to happen

1) Upgrade their schedule. Top player won't go or stay if they aren't playing in all top competition

2) Get some top players from Liberty and Jesters. Both teams have 3 or 4 players who would immediately make FLG better. Assume FLG loses 2 or 3 to YJA, they need to more than replacement them.

TG may be the best settled play defensive team on the island. They are incredibly fundamental, almost no drops and they clear the ball incredibly efficiently - they move the ball fast and never try to clear by running through defenders.. Strong on transitiol offense. Starting goalie is as good as starters on YJA or YJB.

To get to YJA or FLG level, they need to improve on the draw circle and get a couple more attackers who can create their own shot.

Most of their offense is based on a couple plays -- a "sweep" and and "clear out". Better defenses will see this coming a mile away. If I was a backup attacker on YJA or one of the stars of YJB, I would be at TG tryouts in a second.

This is what would scare me if my daughter was there....very small roster and the rest of the program is weak so they are still having issues getting them into more than a couple tournaments

Coach berates his players, not all kids can handle that kind of criticism, but after hearing the parents on sideline, I guess its typical for homelife too. They are like Long Island on steriods.

TG could beat FLG right now and give YJA a run for their money. Should have beat M&D but got hosed at the end.

Did they add girls since fall? They have some ugly losses, Prime Time, Monster, TEAM 180, HHH Philly, Cav Lax? I mean that's not a top-10 team resume.

Looked very good at Lax for Cure though,

Will find out about TG this weekend. Look at their four pool games. Open up against Eagle Stix and also play Hero’s Green. Both top 5-10 teams easily. Plus two solid games against Maryland United and NEMS. Brutal schedule, but great measuring stick against national competition.

I expect them to beat NEMS and MDU should be a toss up. Against ES/HG, I expect one game to be fairly close and other to be a blowout

They played MDU last week and lost 7-11, but hard to beat a good team back to back weeks so who knows.

Both Eaglestix and HG will likely blow them out.

YJB continues to be the big surprise and continue to play extremely well and seem to be extremely well coached whether at tournaments or the prep going into tournaments.

Haven’t seen TG play at all this year. I’m sure they have a very good squad.

Never really had a full team in the spring due to a combo of missing for other sports (soccer) and Covid. I think only 14 or 15 travelled to MA showcase (with many starters out).
