Hit the wall, and play real rules, you wimps!

Only team that stalled in that game was St Mary’s at the end of the game and SP still got the ball back…..and tied the game! Only running clock in games up by 12. How was the Ryken game? Sure it felt good to celebrate the 26th goal! SP also dumps the bench. Playing 4 middies in a game you win by 12 probably helps the other 40 guys get better! Somehow the cake schedule prepared sp to take the number five team to OT!

You guys better turn your attention to your real rival. Broadneck is going to beat you handily this year.

14 saves. Pipes do not count as saves.

21 saves on film!

Severna Park daddies and mommies will be talkling about almost beating the STM for the next decade to try and justify the continuous loses over the past 4 decades in everything from lacrosse to the classroom. Character counts to those that have it..Happy Easter !

And you will be deflecting and making excuses.

That should be a good game. Shouldn’t be a lot of whining and complaining by either team after that one.

Bottom line - St Marys, which may be #3 in the country, is 2 goals better than MSJ and 1 OT goal better than Severn Park. Let's move on to the next games.

Who talks like this after you win a game!? It sounds way worse that you have to justify your win over and over. Walk away, own it, and shut up. Guess you were nervous.

The MSJ goalie had 32 saves against STM.
Seems like a shooting issue more than anything else.

Hilarious. Excuses for a win? Regardless of the score it was a win. SP treated it like their Super Bowl; STM like a scrimmage. Enjoy the close loss and way to lower those expectations. SMH

Boys' Latin (8-1, 3-0 conf) - MIAA wins over Gilman, John Carroll, McDonogh
St. Mary's (10-0, 3-0) - MSJ, Calvert Hall, Loyola
McDonogh (7-3, 3-1) - Loyola, Severn, Spalding
Spalding (7-2, 3-1) - Gilman, John Carroll, St. Paul's
Severn (8-3, 3-1) - John Carroll, St. Paul's, MSJ
Loyola (4-5, 2-2) - St. Paul's, MSJ
------------------------------
Calvert Hall (8-3, 1-2) - MSJ
Gilman (5-5, 1-2) - John Carroll
St. Paul's (7-4, 1-3) - Calvert Hall
John Carroll (5-6, 1-4) - MSJ
Mt. St. Joe (4-5, 0-5) - n/a

Severn at Boys' Latin - At 3-1 in league play and tied with Spalding for 4th place, Severn will be tested today going against the co-league leaders in BL. BL has rattled off 8 in a row since dropping their opener to St. John's. Severn's 3 conference wins have come at the expense of the 9th, 10th and 11th place teams.

St. Mary's at McDonogh - STM is tied for the league lead at 3-0, but have not looked sharp lately. Still, they remain undefeated and are always a tough team. McDonogh sits at 3rd place with wins over both other teams at 3-1. They have won 4 straight since dropping one to BL to open league play.

Mater Dei at Spalding - Spalding gets a bye from MIAA play, but takes on a tough Mater Dei team out of California. At 3-1 in league play, they are tied for 4th with Severn. Both Severn and Spalding lost to 3-1 McDonogh to give the Eagles the 3rd spot outright.

Loyola at Gilman - Loyola sits alone at the 6 slot. The Dons are 3-3 in their last 6 contests, but their losses have been 1 goal games to McDonogh and Georgetown Prep and a 3 goal loss to St. Mary's. Gilman is tied at the 7th spot with Calvert Hall, so this game is big for the Hounds. With a win, they would jump Loyola and keep pace with or pass (unlikely) Calvert Hall. Gilman has lost 3 straight, a blowout to BL and 2 close contests with Don Bosco and Spalding.

Calvert Hall at John Carroll - The Cards sit at 1-2 in league play with the loan win vs. MSJ. They need this win on the road vs. John Carroll. It's early, but the loss at St. Paul's raises questions about just how good this year's CHC team is. JC got their loan conference win vs. MSJ and has since rolled over 2 public school teams. Can the Patriots put up a fight at home?

Mt. St. Joe at St. Paul's - MSJ sits in last place with no wins in league play with 5 straight losses. SP is in the 9th spot after dropping 4 of the last 5 with the loan win in that stretch over CHC. Both teams, despite their records, can grind it out if you don't bring your A game. Look for a close one. SP desperately needs this win to stay in the playoff hunt.

These MIAA teams better handle Mater Dei when they come to town this week. That would be embarrassing to lose to “non gauntlet MIAA” team from CA

NONE. You must show up every game. The "Upsets" you see today is what makes it so difficult. Talent is on every team. Stop barking about anything less than the MIAA is the toughest-because it is.

Calvert Hall clearly has some issues on the defensive side of the ball. There is not a team that starts slower and has a worse offense then Loyola. Severn FOGO will keep them in every game; you can’t score without the ball. STM is the real deal regardless of what SP parents think. SP struggles against a bad MSJ team who remains winless.
