Split that up over 4 (now 5+ classes) and it leaves 2-3 scholarships per recruiting class.
Not a lot of money to go around. As the poster above said- dont worry about the money, use lax to get into a better school.

If that’s the case would you consider ACC schools education better than BIG10?

Don’t worry about the money? Interesting

Have you looked at some of these schools total cost. Craziness not to worry about the money.

I guess if you think the federal government will eventually cover your debt then go ahead and sign those loans.

A friend of ours passed this along from FCA's recruiting night earlier this week. Some great words, advice, perspective from Maryland Head Coach - John Tillman and others. Check it out: https://youtu.be/iYGC2_NO5T0

12.6 schollys= 12600 10% pieces
Some kids get 30, some get 40, some get 80, some get all, some get none.

No clue. Depends on your kid's own personal situation, area of study, academic history, high school grades, school reputation, etc etc.etc. There are a million factors.
Your kid might be an engineering student and RIT is a better school than some ACC or B1G. My kid might be a business student so OSU is better than UVA or UMD. Bob's kid might be a journalism student so Syracuse is better than Duke. Who knows.
Use lax to get into a better school/program/fit than your child could get into otherwise. You'll know it, when you start looking.

US News are just an estimate of good schools...Like someone said above...depends on your major, personality, etc, etc, etc....and then some factors.. Frankly, I see to many lacrosse D1 players with communication majors..

8) Centennial Conference (Average) - D3
9) America East (Average)
10) Big East Conference (Average)
11) Sun Belt Conference (Average)

These are the hardest schools to get into and the highest rated academically that have D1 or D3 lacrosse teams.
All of these schools have huge endowments and will make it affordable for your kids to attend based on your income and assets. (If the schools don't help at all, you may have to sell your 3rd summer home and just settle for the beach and mountain houses).
The service academies pay your kids to attend, but they must serve their country for a few years after graduation.
Here are the acceptance rates and their conferences.
1) Harvard University 5% - D1:Ivy (No Athletic Scholarships)
2) Princeton University 6% - D1:Ivy (No Athletic Scholarships)
3) Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) 7% - D3:NEWMAC
4) Yale University 7% - D1:Ivy (No Athletic Scholarships)
5) Brown University 8% - D1:Ivy (No Athletic Scholarships)
6) Duke University 8% - D1:ACC
7) Bowdoin College 9% - D3:NESCAC
8) Dartmouth College 9% - D1:Ivy (No Athletic Scholarships)
9) Johns Hopkins University 9% - D1:B1G
10) Swarthmore College 9% - D3:Centenial
11) United States Military Academy 9% - D1:Patriot
12) United States Naval Academy 9% - D1:Patriot
13) University of Pennsylvania 9% - D1:Ivy (No Athletic Scholarships)
14) Colby College 10% - D3:NESCAC
15) Cornell University 11% - D1:Ivy (No Athletic Scholarships)
16) Amherst College 12% - D3:NESCAC
17) United States Air Force Academy 13% - D1:Asun
18) United States Coast Guard Academy 13% - D3:NEWMAC
19) Bates College 14% - D3:NESCAC
20) Colorado College 14% - D3:Heartland
21) Williams College 15% - D3:NESCAC
22) Tufts University 16% - D3:NESCAC
23) United States Merchant Marine Academy 16% - D3:Skyline
24) Georgetown University 17% - D1:Big East
25) Hamilton College 18% - D3:NESCAC
26) Haverford College 18% - D3:Centenial
27) University of Notre Dame 19% - D1:ACC
28) Boston University 20% - D1:Patriot
29) Wesleyan University 21% - D3:NESCAC
30) Middlebury College 22% - D3:NESCAC
31) University of Virginia 23% - D1:ACC
32) University of North Carolina--Chapel Hill 24% - D1:ACC
33) Washington and Lee University 24% - D3:ODAC
34) Vassar College 25% - D3:Liberty
35) University of Michigan--Ann Arbor 26% - D1:B1G
36) Babson College 27% - D3:NEWMAC
37) Colgate University 27% - D1:Patriot
38) Denison University 28% - D3:NCAC

These are all the schools in the Top 100 low acceptance rates that have lacrosse programs. A lot of Ivy (7) and NESCAC (9) schools.

Sorry to have hit a nerve friend but the information is available on Inside Lacrosse. Most teams have already taken who they wanted. Most of the scholarship money is gone they may take a few more 2023 players over the summer and in to the fall but little to know money left and coaches are already working on the 2024 class. Most 2023 players should be targeting D3 schools at this point unless you have already had serious discussions with the coaches. This is what it is.

Yes, That is a more realistic picture at this point. 2023 is down to slim pickings at top programs.

Clearly that’s what he has told his kid. Lol Plenty Of money IF you are worth it. Many early commits in the 22 class were considered top players in the class and they received very little. Hold out as long as you can.

Reading an online recruiting list on inside lacrosse does not make one an expert. It does not take an expert to see that most 2023 recruiting is nearing completion at D1. Lacrosse bucket also lists recruits. If a player was generally considered one of the top players in the class, offers would have been made months ago. This question would not be asked. Good luck in the recruiting journey.

To sacrifice pride and normalcy for a shot at telling everyone how great their kids were in lacrosse from grades 3-8. It's a fun ride while it lasts until you're sitting in the stands with a 20 year old Senior in High School and everyone is laughing at you and your kid.

Also can’t repeat a grade in high school. Once you start high school you have 4 consecutive years regardless of age in MIAA.

That's incorrect. You can only play 4 years of any one sport, but you can repeat a year as long as you don't play more than 4 seasons.

Per MIAA rule book…”Beginning in the 2019-2020 academic year, a student has four consecutive years of eligibility from the first date of enrollment into 9th grade to be eligible for interscholastic competition”

You can’t repeat once you start 9th grade.

So what about the kids that started in 2018-2019? Do they have 4 years or are they exempt? (That would be this years seniors)

The reason for holding back prior to 9th ....or do like some do that didnt get the message about holdback before 9th . Hold back during HS and switch to another school and go do a PG year . Gotta work the system for that scholly

If 2018-19 was their freshman year this would be their senior year.

Why not just wait until they are 16 to enter pre K? Eliminate the need to drive them and you will be able to brag about academics and lacrosse. Do these parents not look in the mirror and realize what they are doing or does the glory supersede pride. I know that sweet sweet D1 lax future awaits but you have a slow poke for a child and everyone knows it and is laughing at you and your family. For maybe 4 years of college lax and it's gone. Pathetic on all accounts.

I know that sweet sweet D1 lax future awaits but you have a slow poke for a child and everyone knows it and is laughing at you and your family. For maybe 4 years of college lax and it's gone. Pathetic on all accounts.

Us D1 parents are ok with whatever it takes to get there. Your future is at best d2 or Club.

Dude. Let it go. No one cares what you think about how they raise THEIR OWN kids.

But let's be honest, these holdbacks need the help. It's why they hold back.

Thank you for proving my point. Good luck out there on the field in D1 Dad! It's okay you weren't good in sports.

The world will see your kid for what he is? A college graduate with "D1 lacrosse player" on his resume? Really persuasive argument against that...

Yup my kid will be in the work force 2-3 years ahead of the hold back who rode the bench at D1 as a 25 year old senior, but hey, he played D1!!!! Woohooo!

Everyone knows why these kids are celebrating their 21st birthdays as college sophomores.
it's not because they are the best or brightest.
