Games with no make ups or no refunds. Some teams about to lose 30% of their season with snow tomorrow. Need an alternative.

For the US team she made it out of all of those other players that tried out. How many tried out?

Believe I know the HoCo player you speak of and she is now with Hero's Green.

It is the parents and US Lacrosse pushing the agenda.

The mom (who may or may not have any lacrosse experience) is presenting on "diversity in lacrosse" at the US Lax Con.
sounds like a very self serving person and not really interested in "diversity" just wants to get her kid recruited

Wow, pot meet kettle! Check your virtue signaling at the door. Lacrosse is one of, if not the most blatant, of all college sports to provide systematic back door affirmative action for rich suburban wasps.

Thought that was golf. Did Earl Woods have articles written to help Tiger? I just remember him blasting down barriers with his play.

You are making bad assumptions and statements. You assume that her parents are using this as an elevation platform. You have no idea, nor I, of their experiences. So please stop making these types of statements. Earl Woods had several issues with golf and golfers on how they treated his son. All you need to do is Google before you make a statement…. I did.

How dare they cancel games because of inclement weather. Let them play outside in the parking lot

Issue is not weather. Your thoughts on no make ups or refunds only tough guy.

Is this a dig about them being "elitist" or a recommendation? I've never heard of them so this is an honest question.

The Post is notorious for not doing their research. They jump on an issue without researching both sides of the story. Sadly, the message this family is trying to convey gets lost and weakened by the journalist. We need diversity in all sports. Lacrosse is an expensive sport that makes it hard for lower income of any race to compete. I think the issue is more of a socio-economic problem than a race problem.

But to claim that a coach moving a player to defense is racially motivated is way off base. There are plenty of star studded high school midfielders who end up playing defense in college. There are lots of players who end up playing completely different positions and being asked to play roles that they didn’t anticipate playing.

Completely agree. It is obvious the parents have/had little understanding of defense and lacrosse as a whole. Parents mention they bought books to get better educated on the sport. Every position plays a vital role in success to win a game. Seems like they are using race to elevate their daughter but their argument falls short or at least the journalist conveyed it that way.

They are using it to market their daughter, I mean given the current climate, its not a bad idea.

The article completely ignores the minorities that came before her, no mention of a Emma Ward, who is currently a honorable Mention All American at Attack, as a minority.
This is not the first article on the family and their perspective with race issues.

As one person said, theirs a financial divide in the game of lacrosse, more so, than a racial one.

Or SW who is a pre-season first team AA midfielder from the big lax hub of.... Calvert County and played for Jets. (she's a stud too)
