This is the beauty of crowdsourcing I guess! I posted the update with the recruits by school, and my 5 for BC did not include Garrett. Which club does she play for? - sorry if I seem naive, I am not from LI, and I don't have a '23 daughter smile

Basically no one. Anything close to 50% is a major commitment for a school to give. Schools are only limited 12 scholarships per team. They than break that up.

I'm guessing approximately 70 currently to the Top 15 Programs... with about 15 or so from Long Island to those programs.

Are there any top players still uncommitted? Seems like all the best have been snatched up. But definitely a few spots left for kids who impress at the fall tournaments

For the parent who was worried about her daughter not getting communications right now from formerly interested schools, be patient - her time MAY come, but also be realistic and consider all offers. Remember - you can only accept or turn down the offers that you have!

Lol, the top 2 goalies already committed. Nice try mom

UNC just committed a goalie today - she is one of the tops in the country for sure.

She’s the best in 2023. Congrats to her.

Who are Maryland United? How many girls are actually “on age”? Well, it is Maryland, so probably not many? Have to find a way to get advantages in thei “early years”. Probably started school later or held back a year? The Maryland Way. Crabs walk sideways or backwards?

If your daughter is a top tier player, she has committed already. The top schools have moved on to the girls second and third on their list for the position. That is if they are still even looking. Hopkins, NU and ND did not get the girls they really wanted which is why they are lagging a bit. There also is little to no scholarship money left at these schools. Not to say that they will not get talented players that will perform well, and maybe even better than their first choice. Stanford was interesting where they went from 0 to 5 in their first weekend of visits and had to cancel visits this weekend. Good news is that most top schools will take another girl or two if they really stand out this fall or next summer.

A bit pessimistic but definitely some elements of truth.

The coaches at the best programs (or any programs) do not wait to make offers to the players that they really want. Most of the top players receive offers from multiple programs and are extremely fortunate in that they are able to choose where they go. We are talking about the Top 50 or so players in the country, and we are talking about approximately 15 schools. It is very rare for that caliber of player to go to a non traditional Power. There are a ton of spots available at a lot of great schools/programs.

How is that possible? I read a post from some joker claiming that top players didn’t want to go to Stanford. Pretty sure he thinks all of the top players come from Long Island which they obviously do not. Great players from all over the country, just look at where the best programs are getting their players from.

Take a look at where these schools get their players from

North Carolina
Maryland
Boston College
Northwestern
Syracuse
Princeton
Virginia
Penn
Norte Dame
JMU
Duke
Penn State
USC
Florida
Stanford

She's a very good goalie out of Colorado. The poster above claimed she was the best 23 player altogether. That's difficult to determine with so many great players, nor is it necessary. BUT, this goalie is fire and UNC should be psyched.

Have you seen her play? She is far better than the next group of goalies, she plays at an elite level already. There are 100 good righty attackers and not much gap between top 10-20. Best player in my opinion is the one that distinguishes themselves far about their piers. I know it hurts when it is somewhere from Colorado but take the daddy goggles off and stop drinking you NY whine.

Did TG beat Maryland United? Nope, so who is better? The winner of the head-to-head game or the winner of the paper bowl you and your Island buddies play on your undies.

Stanford, NW and Hopkins all recruit late. It’s a fact. NW is ranked number 4 and you think they wait so they get the crappy players from NY. They know they will get their players because they recruit the whole month until they do their officials. You know nothing and have your head in your LI sand.

You have no idea what your talking about with NU at least. I know they got a top recruited player from skywalkers that was highly recruited by several top 20 schools.

What is notable is that she IS from Colorado and had her pick of schools and she was getting zero attention from his group of parents, which means they may not have a true idea of where the top players are if they are not from the hotbed. Many good players committing to top programs from beyond NY, CT, MA, PA and MD. And, the families in the hotbed don't seem to be tracking them or accounting for them in the numbers - but they should!

Many of the schools listed will probably hold a spot or two until next May/June to see what players enter the Transfer Portal.

There are still plenty of spots at a lot of really good schools but not many left at the programs listed above.

That list is not the end all be all but it is does represent 15 of the best programs and all are excellent schools. The large majority of the best (50-100) players every year find a home at one of those schools. It’s just the way it is.

Some kids have had offers since early Sept, just because they haven’t committed yet doesn’t mean they aren’t tier 1. Some kids are doing their due diligence and nit jumping on the first or second offer. Why is nobody going to Maryland?

Maryland took at least 4 or 5 girls from the transfer portal. They will not take many 2023s.

I agree with part of what you said. My daughter visited 5 schools and was offered at 4 of them. She said from the start that she wanted to see all the schools that were on her list that offered visits. All schools have had their top choices on campus by now and the girls have had sufficient time to decide even if they had multiple offers. We were very aware that the schools would not hold the spots for more than 2-3 weeks even though she was ranked one on their list for the position. I do believe that all of the first choices have committed by this point and the majority of the top schools are either done or have moved on to their second or third choice. There is point where you need to make a choice, and that point has passed for the top girls.

I would say that TG has a slight edge at this point on quality of commits. Wonder if there will be any more going to the top schools. I am actually surprised that there are not more committed from all the teams at this point.

It happens every year, delusional Long Island parents thinking that their daughter is a legit top tier player because they are on one of the top Long Island clubs “A” team or because they score a bunch of goals for their HS team… many of these parents are the very same ones who carry on about UA or some list that comes out , they cry politics and all kinds of nonsense.

Now we are seeing just who the best college coaches consider to be the best players.

If some of those top programs made offers I would say the player is a legit top tier recruit. If the top programs are not offering well that says a lot.

I would say that TG has a slight edge at this point on quality of commits. Wonder if there will be any more going to the top schools. I am actually surprised that there are not more committed from all the teams at this point.

Jesters also have one going to BC. The UMass commit from YJ is going to UMass Lowell. Congratulations to these players Long Island has had a strong recruiting class.

What about that 23’ Grizzly player!!? She’s a standout ! Have you seen her play?

23' Grizzly player is definitely the best in the class. She has dominated all these "top" LI clubs and every national all star tournament she's been in since 8th grade. After her it's a toss up. The 23' YJ girl and 23' Jester girl that committed to BC and the Monster Elite girl going to Syracuse are gonna up there.

Looks like UNC and BC both have a very strong 2023 recruiting class so far. Most of the recruits are UA, involved in USA and/or are highly ranked. Recruiting has always been very easy for UNC but it seems like it is finally getting easier for BC to get more top talent as well.
