Huge pick-up for Stanford announced today, Liz Hogan as a voluntary assistant to work with the goalies. Adding one of the best goalies ever to play the game rounds out a tremendous young coaching staff. Megan Whittle running the offense, just happens to be Maryland’s career goal leader. Britteny Orashen will lead the defense coming from the Associate Head Coaching role at Jacksonville and a sweet 16 appearance last season. Danielle Spencer as Head Coach, 3 national titles at Northwestern, led Dartmouth to an Ivy League title in her 3rd year there in 2019 and Stanford to a PAC12 championship in 2021 in her first year. Ranked 13th to start the 2022 campaign, they will have the best freshman eligible group in the country. Get on board 2023s!!!

Best ‘23s have committed elsewhere already, but good luck to them. A great coaching staff they have, just like many other teams. As far as best freshman class?? It doesn’t make it true just because your daughter goes there. Did you forget that some Ivies did not enroll last year. Pretty sure their freshman classes will be stacked as well! Bottom line is that the school is just too far away for most girls who have their pick of schools. Good luck to all!

Princeton was the 2019 Ivy League Champion.

Big fan of Danielle Spencer and she did a great gob in her short time at Dartmouth but, Dartmouth did not win The Ivy League Title in 2019. Princeton won both the Regular season title as well as the Ivy League Tournament.

You are correct. Although not sure why the league has regular season co-champions considering Princeton won the head to head match up. In any event, DS is a very good coach, she will do an excellent job at Stanford.

Do you actually believe that “most of the best schools will be filling their quota over the next week or so”?

Either you know nothing or this is your first go round or both.

Why do you even bother to post such nonsense?

Yes they are. They have one more girl who may wind up at a 20-30 team. Legacy best player committed to Florida. They have two good commits and a few more that will go to 20-30 schools. Overall LI doing very well, with a few top players still looking

The girls that go to Stanford and the Ivies will be a lot smarter than the ones that go to Syracuse, Maryland etc. Acceptance rates are 3-10%. You just need a pulse to go to Syracuse.

Only 4 D1 programs have admission rates at 10%, Duke, Vanderbilt, Stanford, and Northwestern. Those schools reject lots of kids with perfect test scores, perfect grades, but no extracurriculars. Getting in with lax and on-the-cusp competitive academics is the Golden ticket! Kids from these schools soo pretty well in life comparatively;)

What blows my mind in all 4 above are Power 5, with each having endowments over 10 billion, 100 percent need based aid, and the aid is extremely generous, yet Somehow these schools do not have the very best lax yet in and out. Where are the Best/brightest lax kids that are willing to take a risk with the highest echelon of academics?

You forgot Princeton and Penn who have excellent top 20, often top 10 lax. Girls need minimum of 1300 SAT regardless of how good they are at lax for most of these schools. Not every one is an A+ student taking AP classes and scoring high on standardized tests. Eliminates a lot of girls. I think the list of combined great lax and elite academics are:

Princeton
Penn
Stanford
Northwestern
Duke

Then there are a bunch of schools that are either great academically and just OK at lax, or great at lax and still strong (10-20) academically like:

ND
Hopkins
Yale
Cornell
Brown
Dartmouth

Or top tier academics but stink at lax (blown out many games)

Vanderbilt
Harvard
Columbia

How about UVA where the out of state acceptance rate is about 8%

Not sure why you say "only 4 DI programs have admissions rates at 10%". Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, Penn, Hopkins, Dartmouth, as well as Army & Navy all have acceptance rates below 10%.

Acceptance rate is not relevant when it comes to athletes.

As far as "the very best lax year in and year out", what are you talking about? What school do you think has "the very best lax year in and year out"?

Northwestern, Princeton, Penn are Top 10 Lacrosse Programs. Duke and Hopkins are pretty much Top 20 (Duke was a Top 10 program until a few years ago and could easily be back to being one of the 10 best programs). Stanford is a very competitive program (not as consistent as the others mentioned) but Top 20 most years and has finished in the Top 10 not long ago, I would consider Stanford one of the 20 best Programs.

Not every kid has the athletic ability and the academics to go to schools like the ones listed so I guess I do not get your point.

I would not turn my nose up at Michigan, UNC, UVA, Notre Dame, Georgetown, Penn State, Maryland, Arizona State etc... it's about job opportunities after college (take a look at the schools on the lists that have been posted

There are a lot of excellent opportunities out there for women's lacrosse players, help your daughter find the best fit so that her college experience is a great one.

Below has been posted several times....

It's about the education and the opportunities after college.... not promoting any one school, there are a lot of great opportunities...

While I believe it's great for a kid to go to The Best school it is Best to go to Right (best fit) school.

Every kid is different and every school is different and every program is different. Help your sons and or daughters find the best fit.

-- "Below are some rankings of where some of the Major Players in Investment Banking, Consulting and Big Tech hire from "Target Schools". Just want to point out the opportunities Lacrosse can provide for our children. The rankings are primarily in order of "number undergraduate hires" from each school from 2014 - 2019.

Not knocking or touting any schools, just pointing out that Lacrosse can help get our children into many of the feeder schools that many companies recruit from.

Not every kid knows what career path they want to pursue so choosing a school that can open as many doors as possible is very important. In many cases, it will be the school "name recognition and or prestige" that will help get their foot in the door with an interview (lacrosse connections help as well).

Yes, I know there are a lot of great schools that are not on any of the lists....
