You have years of this crazy in front of you. Pace yourself. For the sake of little Johnny who is “pretty good” let him play and enjoy the game for a few more years before you apply the you need to be on the top team pressure.

I don't think any top teams are at columbus day. Wonder if they will be playing the following weekend at Blatant or 91 tournament. Legacy, Igloo, Rebels, 91, S2S all have strong top teams from what I have heard

This really surprises me with 91. They are usually off ground running. Express gets all the private school players as they enter middle school so not to surprised there.

They will be the dads beating their chests and chasing t-shirts for years to come. Tools on the sidelines. How good your kid at 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 won’t matter. The 8 year old studs who are bigger and faster eventually even out. Many will get passed by. At 8 focus on your kid having fun and getting better independently. Nobody will remember who the best team was when they were 8.

I've been through this with my daughter. Talk to parents of girls who have to travel to MD, NJ and DE in the early years because that's where the tourneys are. By the time they are in HS everyone is burnt out from traveling the NJ turnpike. You will never see MD teams coming to LI at this age for the same reason. It's really not necessary in the boys landscape.

We have seen plenty examples of kids who dedicate large portions of their time to lacrosse at an early age and still love playing and have great success, ie. 91 Crush. We have also seen kids and parents get burnt out from over exposure. The decision should be made by the parent and child, and is unique to each family. Parents should be good role models for kids no matter what level they are playing on. Being “The best” in 3rd grade does not matter at all. Too many times the coaches and parents act like kids and embarrass themselves and the organizations they represent!

Talked to Pat med Mom, see said only 3-4 on top team. All other kids are on east end Rebels. Never seen 3 grade town team that good. Five , six passes in a row, on a dime. My son will be trying out for Rebels. Heard 5 teams in 31 next year. That’s so impressive.

My 31 plays for a different club. I am by no means sayid the rebels are the new hot club……. Blah blah blah. Based on my interactions with them for my older son I highly doubt the directors are coming on here and spewing this nonsense.

Rebels staff is great Current college head coach Multi all American from Hopkins Multi all American from pace Coach with 20+ years experience Past HS Coach that owns a training facility 5 coaches, all qualified and different, The other teams have great coaching staffs too, lets be happy the boys are playing a lot- getting coached by good coaches and hopefully playing competitive games that gets everyone better! What people forget about Rebels is they are only in year 3 or 4 and are already better at some ages than the big few, they are mentioned with the big 5 or 6 on Long Island and trending upward, younger teams are great, older teams are OK but still have lots of da commitments. Pick your team on what’s best for your son or daughter and their situation, not parents who, back of the cage feedback or anything else!

However, the guys do have 50+ Commits in their first 3 classes D1, D2, and D3. They have build from 7 teams to 19 in 3 years. They are expanding to Maryland and eastern long island next year. They may not be the best now, they many not be the best ever, but they are absolutely here to stay.
