Just saw the final US Club Lax rankings. Surprised that both the ‘22s and the ‘23s are so far down and not even the top club on LI. Whats going on here??

Simple answer. The people who rank don’t know what they are taking about. Yellow jackets 22 beat every long island team they ever played. And gave consistently beaten MD black and and split with Hero Green. I don’t know who and how they do the club rankings but you can’t dominate and be ranked low. Just does not make sense.

Again the rankings are a joke....look at their records and schedule
23s have 3 total losses since they merged 2 years ago
just won Mid ATlantic
5 straight wins against M&D black. The 23 team is a top 3 team in the country, if not #1

Lol, stop crying. The rankings only mean something if they fit your narrative? The YJ ‘25s sure do believe in the US Club rankings! Coach loves tweeting it out. You’re such a sour baby!

YJ having two '22 teams in the Top 20 is absolutely incredible. Look at the other major '22 clubs and the other ages and see where their B teams stand. Some of top programs' B teams are in the 50s and 60s. Curcio proved they were the best over the years with wins and close games against Florida, Monster, MD, Heroes. Saying Liberty or Elevate is better than YJ Curcio is not accurate. Curcio also was bitten hard by injury bug this year. Not an excuse - just a fact. Top Guns Black '22 is the only LI A team that could say they were better than YJ Curcio. YJ Carannante B team would battle all the other LI A teams if they ever got the chance. Computer rankings will always have flaws, but both YJ teams were great and have D1 commits up and down the rosters.

Can speak for the 22 team, for the last 2-3 years the results of games stopped mattering, the club was showcasing their talent.. ( the recruiting of the team proves it worked ok )
definitely not the number 1 team.. but higher than that ranking for sure. always struggled against Hero's and Fla select had some great games against most of the teams in the top 10 along the way.... moving on to greener pastures now but club lax will be missed.
stop and look around .. it goes fast

YJ just not the dominant club they once were. They will always be a good club, it’s just that many parents have gotten sick of the politics and tools their talented girls to other clubs on LI, creating parity. This is great for LI in my opinion. The other part, is that other regions of the country are drastically improving, so LI and MD are no longer the only regions with great teams.

dense question about YJ tryout... next week will be first time for us.

When you make the team, are you told which team you will be on? Is there the option to "move down" to a lower team to ensure more playing time?

Thanks,

22 rankings are the most meaningless of all ranking. Remember lots of girls drop club right after they committ

TG can compete with YG at the 22 level but in head to head YJ beat them. YJ car range is an outstanding B team. Last year they lost by one goal to hero green - the team considered the best in the 22 age group.

If this is your first time with this organization and your daughter is not a clear starter, get ready for a lot of frustration. Happened to us, and we left for a different club which was the best move. Never looked back!

Agreed. YJ B Carannante Team beat Skywalkers A Team and narrowly lost to M&D Black this season. The point of the thread was "what happened to the YJ's with the '22 rankings?" Answer is absolutely nothing - the '22 Yellow Jackets were the deepest program in the country by a mile.

LOL, they're ranked 14. Couldn't even crack top 10. Meanwhile Liberty, TG, and Elevate ranked ahead of them. Facts are facts. YIKES!!!

Facts are facts....? A computer ranking are facts. YJ 23 beat elevate 22 badly both times they played each other at the spring league and cedar tourney.
Grizzlies 23 has 1 loss and beat TG both times but TG 23 with 6 losses in ranked 1. Okay those do sound like facts

If you knew anything about algorithms you would understand how the rankings were calculated. Works in a similar way in college. Sounds like someone is just bitter that their team isn’t as good as they think they are. You realize that both YJ ‘23 and Grizzlies had very bad losses. That is a fact!

Obviously there are girls are YJ B that should be on the A team and vice versa. The friends and family plan..

Yeah, Grizzlies being 2nd was a head scratcher. One loss and it wasn't to YJ.
Also, met a bunch of Grizzlies parents, club run by equal playing time and are still beating everyone. SMH.

YJ - 36 2022 D1 commits. YJ 2022 class was solid for both A and B teams. Nice job at the Triple Threat Tournament, though.

They absolutely do not have equal playing time. Their star NEVER comes off! They are second because of their bad loss to M&D

Not sure why they waste time ranking travel teams and how you would possibly do this accurately with all the clubs out there.
Most tournaments at the older level are recruiting tourneys and don’t even have championships with multiple pools where tops teams don’t even play each other.
Rankings are typically political. With that being said I do respect the teams that win the big tournaments against top competition but other than that the criteria for ranking seams to be patronizing each other. You see the same thing on the individual level where kids get awarded and make teams based on who their coach is or team they play on.Stuff like that makes us all who have been around scratch our heads.

Whats the matter? Was your team not ranked? Rankings are done by quality of wins and strength of schedule. Not that difficult to understand. It does matter for recruiting purposes because the best college programs typically recruit girls who play on the best club teams. The sidelines of those games were packed with the top teams head coaches. For other girls, they need to rely on showcases and prospect days to hopefully get a chance to stand out. Watch when the girls begin to commit in a couple weeks and you will see that I am pretty spot on

That is precisely the point with rankings. How could YJ 22 not be ranked higher than everyone with wins over Top Guns, MD multiple times, heroes multiple times and Florida select. The other Long Island clubs aren’t even in the conversation because YJ steam rolls them and yet they ranked higher? YJ A always plays in best bracket and has best overall record. We are happy with our college commitment. Honestly it was too easy and can’t help but think that being on YJ had a lot to do with the many recruiting options presented.

YJ ‘22 had some bad losses. That’s why

Your not talking about the YJ ‘22 A team.Anyone who says they didn’t dominant is not familiar with the team.
The best thing about them is that there were no clear starters. Each girl played pretty much equally. That says a lot about the depth of the program and hence why the club does well with recruiting. College coaches know about the depth and that is why a player on that team gets attention. The first lines in the other travel programs can compete with YJ but if they start subbing ( and that is why top guns only play their first LINE) the second d lines can’t keep up with YJ second lines. That is historically the case. Sorry if your girl is on the second line of the other clubs but those are the facts of life.

Name one Long Island team that beat them. Never happened. No ones crying. They are just undefeated against all the Long Island teams and have beaten the best teams in the country. The rankings should reflect that.

Don’t think you get how rankings work. They took some bad losses. Stop crying, your daughter will be a senior. Hopefully she is committed to a good school and has greener pastures look forward to. Otherwise she can sing “glory days” with the rest

When your kid is going to her junior or senior year why would anyone care about rankings anymore ? Your kids travel lax career is pretty much over at this point.

the best players in HS and college come from YJ. look at the rosters. look at the All Americans. look at the commitment.
rankings are a joke.
more than half the HS All Americans this past year are from YJ
look at the final 4 in college. over 25 girls from YJ. No other club comes close.

The talent level runs deep on Long Island and most cases very close all around except for the few standouts but the difference in who gets the spot on the team is usually the kids coach with the most connections.A lot of new clubs that are not as expensive don’t have the clout if you know what I mean and their players gets the scraps and probably most of their looks through showcases and prospect days.Like everything else in life you get what you pay for in most cases the money grab of travel lax is not different.

Exactly. There is only 1 LI club that has 2 Tewaaratons. We all know which club that is, and its initials are not Y and J.
