Predators who.

Being a new club- fairly certain HoCo rules prohibit them from playing at Elite level.

This is correct

Since Predators is a St. Paul feeder I see it’s future more like a Rock or Breakers Program

Fall HoCo will be fun, anyone know if Madlax and the Hawks are planning on playing?

I doubt the Hawks will participate. Kids play other sports.

So what happened to koopers?

Kooper’s trying to have a 2028 team. Same tryout dates as Predators and also at St Paul’s.

Bad loss in Hershey for Madlax before NLF. They should have sat this one out

Lost to NL again by one. I’m sure coach was calm on the sidelines.

Ummm... they are 10 and 11 year olds who had fun playing lacrosse and bonding at Hershey Park. You people need to get a grip and stop obsessing about a team that you are not a part of but are clearly jealous of. It's an anonymous forum, but go ahead and tell us all what amazing team is lucky enough to have you as part of the organization. You are probably the one screaming wheels and embarrassing the kids and other parents on the sidelines.

ML coach took an unsportsmanlike conduct pen with a minute left and the game tied. Lucky that NL didn't win the game there with a man up. Dude has great teams but needs to chirp less at the refs. Other than that he was fine IMO, engaged and loud but not abusive or profane.

Here’s an updated set of the Bored MD dad rankings. I don’t think we’ve learned that much from the last week, but a little churn in the rankings. The big events in no particular order were.

1. Madlax loss to Next Level at Hershey. I don’t think a one goal loss to Next Level is enough to move Madlax down given the rest of their summer resume. Championships at NAL, Vail, and Platinum Cup. So I’d keep them at 2. But it will be interesting to see a Madlax vs Team 91 game at NLF if it happens.

2. NLF field released. NLF obviously is a strong field at the top with 3 of the top 4 teams in the rankings below, but it’s too bad we don’t get to see how teams like 2way and 3D New England would fare against the MD teams. Given the last couple of weeks, it also would be fun to have Next Level there to maximize potential chaos given their summer results. I know the issues with NLF membership, but we can still dream. Pool play at NLF doesn’t have a ton of compelling matchups so the more interesting games will come via the bracket. Should be a fun tournament.

3. 3D New England looking very strong at Primetime in Connecticut. They clearly seem to belong among the best and make a big jump in the rankings.

3. Legacy regained its form at Primetime. The LI teams are tough to sort. Team 91 seems like the top dog. Another good week against LI competition. But making sense of Legacy, Long Island Express, and Mooselax is hard. But just to be clear, LI definitely has a ton of talent and should field some top teams once the top talent sorts a little more.

4. Nationals seem like a strong team based on Platinum Cup and Naptown. If they had a more stable roster I’d probably have them around 7-8. But tough to rank them. Mad Dog National also seems like a player but tough to rank without a more stable roster.

Tier 1
1. Hawks

Tier 2
2. Madlax
3. 2way
4. Team 91
5. Next Level
6. 3D New England
7. BBL

Tier 3
8. FCA
9. Express North
10. Freedom
11. True Annapolis

Tier 4

Too hard to tell precise order of these good teams:

Legacy, Long Island Express, Mad Dog West, 3D Gulf Coast, Mooselax, Laxachusetts, Crabs. There are others that likely belong in this group.

99 on NL definitely owned the faceoffs. ML coach was right. Ref allowed a timeout before they got in the box. Great game all around.

No meltdown. He knows the rules better than any ref.

Bored Dad, you need to put the last rankings in parentheses so we can see the change for each team. You should also get a corporate sponsor. "ECD Presents Bored Dad 2028 Rankings.". Then retire with the corpo $$$. You'd be a hero to all dads here.

We should help facilitate this! 100% better than the US Club Lax BS ranking they put out

Not as many compelling matchups in pool play as we might have hoped for, as Bored MD Dad points out. Madlax vs Laxachussetts is intriguing, and the Team 91/Express North could be a tell.... with only a bracket of 4 (3 pools), gotta think it’s Hawks, Madlax, and 91 with a wild card 4th. Thunder is a new entrant in the 28’s, they could make some noise.

Mad Dog West Elite is better than the bottom tier in Bored Dad’s rankings. Big and physical, similar to BBL and NL.

We will find out if the hawks can live up to the hype.
NL is my dark horse.
2way not as good as they were 2 years ago.
LI venom continues to roll.
Legacy beats up on weaker teams but can’t close the door on tough teams.
Will be fun to see these teams evolve and develop over the next few years.

Teams like nationals and others who are just tournament teams shouldn’t ever get consideration imho. It’s the same kids rostered from other ranked teams.

Is 3D NE a consistent all year around team? I’m not familiar.

Next Level would be higher if it was my ranking given they beat both 91 Venom and Madlax. Nothing 2way has done is more impressive.

Good list otherwise as usual.

Amazing, only one unsportsmanlike! New record for Maddux.

He has lowered the bar so low that an unsportsmanlike in an 11 yo lacrosse game is a win.

Haha!

I’m not a ML parent or a Cabell fan, but in his defense on this one point I will note that the quality of officiating at Hershey was particularly spotty/bad all weekend. I don’t know if it changed the outcome of any games, but whatever 30-minute online seminar they are requiring for certification isn’t cutting it.

The ref allowed NL to call timeout as their player was running out of bounds after winning the (yet another) face off, still in the box. With about a minute left in the game, tied 7-7. He was right, refs blew it and he called the guy out. A flag was completely unnecessary... didn’t throw a tantrum.

Did not change the outcome, as NL didn’t score on the man up. But to portray this as an egregious “unsportsmanlike” is absurd and misinformed.

Who hasn’t. Thunder and Madlax got big breaks with the schedule. They should have to play each other

Next Level is not an NLF member and Madlax generally doesn’t want other DC area teams involved in NLF tournaments because it is one of the comparative advantages that CM markets is what you hear.
