No Dingers at NHSLS because Cottle’s group is hosting his own, new, h/s tourney going against the old BL guy. Some teams are headed north for that instead. There is a schism in the MIAA!
What is the name of Cottles tourney and where is it being held?

From what I can tell, Spalding is playing in the Cottle tourny called High School Championship on 7/21-22 in New Jersey. They are the ONLY Md. high school team, bunch of other NJ and NY teams, most likely weaker teams.
This date is nowhere near the date this week for the NHSLS, white session. This tourney does not have MSJ, spalding, Severn, J Carroll and St Marys. but DOES have BL, CH, LB, Gilman and McD. Only other coward seems to be Georgetown Prep, they are playing in the RED session today with many other schools JV teams and running up the score but they seem to not want to play in the white session with the stronger teams. As usual, Spaulding seems to use the excuse they are in another HS tourney but it is a month away. I think they know their team is back to being like it always was, weak and not really competitive. Seems Lids can't get enough players to transfer over this quickly so they just keep their head down and avoid the stronger teams. Their time in the spot light has past and it could be Lids is getting short on funds and can't keep paying the tuitions. And his son will be out of splading next year and off to college.

Again….SPALDING….NOT Spaulding 😫
We got it, we know how to spell the name but .......it is more fun to get the Spaulding faithful up in arms by spelling it SPAULDING.

I see a lot of HS athletes doing PG years and I'd imagine that this will only increase due to the recruiting fallout from covid.

How are PG years typically facilitated.

Do most athletes simply reach out to coaches at multiple schools to gauge interest or is it worked through the HS coach?

You are one poor poor lonely person. Your fixation on Spalding is hilarious. Take responsibility for your sons action, He just wasnt good enough for a top program at this time.

Your biggest issue is that you really really wanted to be on Spalding's Varsity. Then you would be swagged out with your favorite team, that let you and your son down by not accepting his limited ability.

Poor coaching cost the boys again in an 8-7 loss. These men deserve better.

Is this the Dons? Constantly overrated. 6-5 in the league and bounced out at home in the quarters yet they are still "receiving votes" in the US Lacrosse Top 25. Cmon. Steele Stanwick isn't walking through that door.

Transfer your kid to another school if you don't like it..... Running to BOTC minutes after a tournament is over is definitely not the answer

Loyola Blakefield is no overrated. This past spring they were loaded with talent and even after loosing 23 seniors they are still a talented team. The problem.....the head coach, he is not anywhere near the level of the other MIAA coaches and this is causing this team to loose. He is not head coach material and never will be. At best he would do ok as an OC but he is not honest with his players, doesn't tell them the truth and just wants to be the nice guy. This is not how you produce a winning team in the MIAA. LB players get heavily recruited by top Div 1 schools, but most college coaches see these players on their summer league teams and at showcases.

My guess is you transferred your kid or he's riding the bench for a reason......maybe look in the mirror and take some responsibility instead of blaming coaching.

I hope if you are a part of the LB team that you stop trash talking the coaches. This is not how you build a team and it is embarrassing. There are many kids on the team who don’t get a lot of playing time. It doesn’t mean they don’t work hard but maybe just aren’t a high level player and that is fine. You have to deal with this in your own way. Maybe not on an anonymous forum….

Maybe you should find out what is going on before you start running your fingers with complete nonsense statements. Easy for you to sit behind your computer and just ramble on without knowing the facts. Has nothing to do with my son.

The chatter IS growing louder from Chestnut Ave. But I think the HC over there will have a good season in '22 to squash it.
As a fan of the MIAA school he came from, I don't think they have fully maximized the talent they have on campus. But that's a completely outside opinion, based on just a small bit of info/observation. And you know the saying- "Opinions are like... Everybody has one."
