Coppermine has a definite niche. They have loads of field space and they are not geographically undesirable to those living in Baltimore who don’t want to drive to Howard County and to those who dont want to hear all the gum-flapping’ from Skywalkers.
Plus the lights at Norris Field? Golden!!!! Let’s go get dinner at the Tavern!

I could see the soccer issue as it is for all teams around the Mid Atlantic. However, the 28 team played and won in NGLL A and just beat "arguably" the best 28 level programs in the country pretty handily. Not sure why that team wouldn't continue to have success and stay together? They are already getting exposure and playing at the highest levels/tournaments etc. Not sure why they would leave for those teams? They just showed they can beat anyone at Live Love Lax which is one of the biggest/top tourneys out there. Congrats to that team/coaches etc, really a strong team to keep building on.

Agreed, there’s no tournament or bracket that Coppermine wouldn’t be included in that Heros or M&D would.

Coppermine 27 is also very good. You may see them take that through HS with all the facilities they have, I don’t see why they can’t, not to mention their goalie training is top notch.

Fully agree their coaching is top notch, especially goalie coaching. Their challenge has always been recruiting placement for older girls. Thats why several girls leave after 8th grade every year to go to a "Big 3" club.

Things change as kids get older. Redshirts used to have a team that won the Ngll. They are no longer around as those kids went to the big 3.

M&D, Hero's, and who is the other third in the Big Three?

Interesting, when do they start improving? Middle School?

Not in top-10 at either 2027 2028 level.

Lax for the Cure organizers must not do any research at this age group.

This weekend’s top division (2 teams make playoffs)
M&D
Heros
Monster
LI Jesters
YJ B team

Second division (one team makes playoffs)
Coppermine
YJ A team
MDU
AIM
HOCO

Steps makes the brackets so the tough teams beat each other and their teams play cupcakes to get to playoffs.

If they stay together it would be a first. The Baltimore area is littered with club programs that had strong middle school teams only to see them decimated by they time they get to 10th grade. Eventually all the top talent in Baltimore area ends up on M&D and SW. The Howard country girls may go to Heros but doubt there are a ton of those on Coppermine. It's just the way it is. M&D and SW have a history of getting their kids recruited by top D1 programs. Coppermine does not. Redshirts had very successful teams that no longer exist. TLC has been decimated. C2 girls leave. It's just a matter of time.
