How are are wild cards determined? Is it least goals against?

I'm looking forward to seeing the Crabs/Express game. They both have 2 talented faceoff kids

If one of those 2 get a wild card, that will make for an interesting matchup for the 1 or 2 seed.

How you play against who you play is just as important. BBL has a bunch of 1 goal wins against teams, that if they were a better team, would have won by more. They have a bad loss against FCA MD. Have you heard about "bad losses" before in RPI style rankings? Those bad losses can hurt a lot. You can't afford those close wins and bad losses to inferior teams. They also got blown out by LI Express...bad loss. They deserve to be where they are. As more scores go in, and as their past opponents get more results, you will see Alcatraz move lower and BBL move higher. But look at BBL's record as a whole and not just the "good wins" and "good losses". Man, you guys just don't get the fact that this is an algorithm...there is no human emotion involved, except when it comes to your thought process.

Dork store called...they are out of you! Algorithms are great to keep us entertained on a message board, but all that matters is what happens between the lines when the whistle blows. There will be fewer questions and many more answers following NAL this weekend. Good luck to all the area teams.

Seems like there are a lot of issues with actual team identification in those rankings. VLC Black Ops has been lumped in with regular VLC team, Mad Dog National appears under Mad Dog NJ, etc, etc.

Anyone know anything about NXT ? Who have they played

Yes, seems odd having VLC and VLC Black Ops, and then Mad Lax and Mad Lax Monuments on the same ranking when a lot of the kids are the same.

On usclub lax, they played Sweetlax and Madlax close in the fall and early spring, but recently lost to Forest Hill and Breakers.

The team that wins NAL wins WSYL.

Likely their B team that played this past weekend

no age restriction at NAL makes it impossible to predict WSYL

Not sure how one tournament translates to the other but OK.

NXT Silver (the B team is who played Forest hill and Breakers). NXT Black is the one who played Sweetlax and Madlax in the fall and played in the Mid-Atlantic spring league (lost to Tigers twice an NJ Express/Tribal) and will be at NAL. They are a much improved team, but will def lose to Crabs and LI Exp and a toss up with Leading Edge I guess.

Wrong. Tommyknockers aren't in the WSYL.

While there's a chance that might happen, that is not a certainty. A does not equal B in this situation so avoid over simplifying.

This spring NXT Black has beaten NJ Express, HHH, PA Roughriders, Freedom, Roar & WCS Navy while they've lost to Madlax, Tigers & NJ Express.

Hawks will win both.

They are definitely one of the favorites. No doubt about that

NAL is so stacked, good chance Hawks don't win even if they are the best team. No team will be anywhere close to a favorite vs. the field. Express North will be tough in pool play and then they probably have to get through at least 2 of 3 from LI Express, Sweetlax and Tigers to win.

NAL is best Tourney field we've seen??? This tourney is loaded!

Any given tournament, and given day.

This will be a massive accomplishment for whatever team wins. Good luck, looking forward to some good games.

Will any of these teams really use/need second tryout dates, or will most rosters be set after first tryout? Looney’s is invite only?

Honestly not sure I've seen a deeper field of top notch teams and I've been going to youth lax tourneys for a loooooong time.

What percentage of kids playing in NAL this weekend will be playing against each other college?

A lot, if they don’t burn out because of their parents before then, which will also happen.

Or of the coaches don’t burn out the parents.

Nice to see 2 HoCo league teams in the NAL playoffs. Good luck to Hawks and Madlax tomorrow. Show those New Yorkers that the best lax is still played in MD.

Not enough 25s on Crabs to get to playoffs?

Crabs got unlucky being in same pool as Express. After Hawks, Express and Sweetlax anyone could be 4th including Crabs.
