Nice try but no comparison. I have never seen anything like it. Drunk kids acting like animals. Right out of a news 12 story. Should all be ashamed of yourselves and embarrassed that your kids act like pigs

Why do you think they will compete next year? Did you find out Petrakis as one more year of eligibility, lol

Ha. That’s where the kids go who can’t cut it as actual lacrosse players.

Long Island publics not even on the level of those teams . Any D1 roster bunch of kids are from Calvert Hall , McDonaugh , Culver , Boys Latin , Bullis , Haverford , Taft , Deerfield. Some of those schools are 65k a year for High School .

Are you responding to a particular post? Traditionally the Top Long Island Publics as well as Chaminade and St Anthony's are on par with all of the other top HS Teams.

This year, at the very least, Manhasset, Chaminade and St Anthony's would all run with those teams.

such an unbelievably wrong statement

Not One Public school could compete? Manhasset ?

It's comparing apples and oranges, all the NE Prep School team rosters are, on average, 1 to 2 years older than the typical Long Island roster. There isn't a team on Long Island that could run with the top prep schools.

Manhasset has two studs this year and still wouldn't be able to complete with Chaminade and St Anthony's..

St Anthony's kills everyone on their schedule and then plays Chaminade for some type of Championship. Isn't that every year? Pre-COVID sprinkle in some Darien, Manhasset, GC for out of conference fun....which are usually close games...but again....St Anthony's or Chaminade for the championship. Does that sum it up? Its like two travel teams beating everyone up at some lame tournament and then playing each other for the championship. Over and over. UVA...this year's NC in D1....has a few LI public school players on the team...playing. Why the detest on LI public schools?

Just because you say so doesn't make it factual. It is your opinion.

Yes, and many of those big name transfers choked when they were needed. Gallagher lost to freshman, and Sowers did nothing when needed

People who never played lacrosse or who were not good and quit as a kid usually post classless comments. The players who stuck with the game respect it and their opponents and act accordingly.

Actually this is true but not for the reasons you infer. College coaches want the best players. Period. Their jobs depend on it. MANY of those players both men and women come from public schools. Considering that many top D1 lax schools are very expensive, many of those rosters are filled in with prep school kids who won’t receive any of the 12.6 and most likely won’t play but whose parents will gladly hand over the 60-70K so their kid can simply be on the roster.

Six of the top 20 in points per game are from LI public schools, Gray , Nichtern, Tierney on Tewaaraton list final 25.

The fact of the matter is the public schools would have a very hard time with St A or Chaminade. This year they would not be close. Much bigger size difference in terms of people at the school. Doesn't make either choice the better one. High school goes by too quickly to worry about it. Enjoy the process, enjoy the long summers up and down 95. If your kid plays after high school, great. If not, enjoy the ride...its over quickly.

Manhasset very good team but I saw them play Chaminade a couple of years ago and it was like men v. boys. Chaminade had better players and way more depth.

St Anthony's and Chaminade are excellent programs and are stronger than the majority of Public Schools year in and year out. That said, the Top Publics can and do compete with them.

2017 - 2019

Chaminade beat Ward Melville, Massapequa, Manhasset, Wilton.
Chaminade lost to Ward Melville and Manhasset.

2017 - 2019

St Anthhony's beat Manhasset and Syosset.
St Anthony's lost to Darien and Yorktown.

I believe Ward Melville and St Anthonys scrimmaged a few times between 2017 - 2019, they each "won" at least one, can't remember the 3rd game but "All Games" were competitive.

Maybe I missed a couple but you get the idea. Chaminade and St Anthony's are great programs but the Top Publics can certainly compete.

Public Schools like Manhasset, Garden City, and CSH are effectively private schools given the price tag and taxes to own a home in these locations.

Doomed may be an exaggeration but there has to be a better way to align and seed the teams.
