I would like to see Glenelg HS play a game against a top 5 IAAM team and see how they do.

About as well as St. Mary's, Spalding, and Maryvale did.

That's not true at all. SP boys used to beat Spalding. But the SP girls haven't beaten an IAAM team in ages. They don't play them anymore. They scrimmaged SPSG twice in 2018 and 2019 and lost by 10 both times. And SPSG wasn't nearly as good back then.

SP girls literally beat Severn in 2019. As did Broadneck and South River.

You're correct. And Severn was 1-12 in the IAAM that season with a win over GFS who ended up dropping to "B" conference the next year. Not exactly a harbinger of success against the good IAAM teams. As mentioned SPSG beat SP in a scrimmage by 10 that season and the season before. SPSG went to the IAAM finals that year but were only 7-6 in conference.

Anyone remember when RCPS lost in championship to McD but lost to a public school by 10 the week before. Mcdonogh would play Century every year and it would be a close game too.

Yes and was stated earlier times have changed. All the privates are being much more aggressive going after kids which has watered down the public schools. All you have to do is look at the commitments on the rosters and it's noticeable. It wasn't like that until the last few years. Not that there aren't some really good players on public school teams. There definitely are. But they just don't have the depth that McD, SPSG, NDP and GCS have managed to build. There are 3 Senior UA All-Americans that would otherwise be at Carroll County Schools. The SPSG goalie is also a Senior UA AA and is from Carroll County. BR at GCS and MG at SPSG have really done well bringing in players the last few years. It used to just be McD and NDP with 15-20 D1 commits on the team. Now you can include SPSG and GCS in that list and Bryn Mawr isn't far behind. Even GFS is being really aggressive bringing in kids as witnessed by their current freshman class. The new AD(McD grad) and new coach are determined to build that program. Considering GFS is very close to the County line I'm certain they will also be pulling kids out of the county.

That's not true. This year they probably would have beaten MDS and RPCS. Probably GFS and John Carroll too after JCs best player got hurt. Century would be in the middle group with Gerstell, Severn, St. Mary's, Maryvale and Spalding. People just don't understand how much talent there is at the top 4 schools this year.

Committments:
McD Starters: MD, UNC, Stanford, Vandy, USC, Loyola, BC, Duke, Delaware, W&M, OSU
SPSG Starters: Georgetown(2), USC, Hopkins, Marquette, Duke, Florida, High Point, JMU, Denver and 2 Sophs
NDP Starters: MD(2), UVA, Denver(2), Hopkins(2), Towson, USC, Vandy, Hofstra
GCS Starters: MD(3), Loyola, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Towson, Delaware, JMU, Navy

All these schools have a ton more D1 commits on the bench.

On the other hand:
Century: MD, Jacksonville, Va Tech, Salisbury
Broadneck: UMBC, McDaniel, Sacred Heart, Frostbug, Shepherd
Severna Park: Florida, Jacksonville, UMBC
Glenelg: Navy(2), Va Tech, High Point, Coastal Carolina(2), W&M

Even the worst teams in the IAAM have 3-4 D1 commits on the team

This should of ended the conversation FACTS

Century lost to Maryvale not long ago when Maryvale was at the bottom of the IAAM. People don’t realize the talent difference and depth difference. Gerstell has 3 Senior UA all Americans on their team and only won 4 games in the IAAM. It takes more than 3-4 good girls.

Gerstell would be .500 consistently in Carroll county. They have 5 good players and rest is not good.

That's absurd. Those 5 girls would dominate most of Carroll County. Most teams in Carroll County have 2-3 good players.

Anyone here daughters tryout for the American Selects? Who do they have as evaluators ? Is it like UA with local team coach’s ? Or, do they have independent evaluators?

The evaluators are a few college coaches. The tryouts are basically all scrimmages, no drills for evaluating skills. The coach's are your local club coaches.

Wrong. The other 7 on the field are weak. Almost every year a public has competed for even beaten a top iaam school. Glenelg over NDP. Century / McD , MV over RP. The community team vs the recruited team has done ok.
