This is a joke right? Or is this a Spalding dad? with are you talking about? Is this Tom’s financial advisor?
This glorified HS had d bag Ripley pay for a ton of tuitions and offer to pay every good Severn, St. Mary’s and WCAC players tuitions to transfer. Not to mention breaking rules regarding the MIAA off season practice hours.

Will be going after the same players and more this summer. When you have money to spend you don’t ever stop recruiting other schools players.

Spalding was a very good team this year. Its not easy to go from perennial basement-dweller to the finals in the MIAA. They hopefully can stay top six. If Phipps sticks around and they can maintain influence over the league, that will help. But winning is a culture that needs time and discipline- so we shall see. St. Mary's has it, Calvert Hall has it, McDonogh, BL, Gilman, St.Pauls, Loyola all have it. But only six get a shot to win it. Unless of course, the rules change... which I think will happen. My guess is the league will be "encouraged" to invite everyone to the tournament every year. Argument being, it makes $ense. Sad but its coming. The MIAA has all but run its course. A new league and Association will form in the next 10 years if not sooner.

My guess is that changes are coming too. Several schools have recently ramped up out of town players, recruiting and boarders. Several are skirting the rules now. That along with getting more teams in playoffs will require some new thinking. Talent is off the charts with multiple talented club teams starting these players before 10 years old.

Anyone watching the BL/Spalding game could see the talented lacrosse players that were out there. Only going to get better.

Really funny and how critical and nasty some of you are but only to certain kids. Rip had a great season but struggled in the last game. There wasn’t another game all year he didn’t produce and while not big numbers in this game he at least had some. Yes I understand because TR is involved he gets higher criticism. Truth is people have been waiting for Spald to fail so they could all pick apart. Kids did something great making it to the end.

One can only wonder if Petro would of received the same criticism if they lost with dad coaching . Scoreless yes scoreless in two of the teams final three games in playoffs yet after those performances it gets tucked away. Thankfully my son is a senior and could not of asked for a better ending but the politics with BL is in another dimension DP scoreless against Loy. 4 goals vs McD all assisted by teammates meanwhile BS had 2,4 clearly best player. Then DP went invisible in Final with another scoreless performance
Not much difference other than result of team People that do not like TM direct it at him not his son

Just an observation. One gets the #1 pole. The other gets the 3,4 or SSM.

Quarter Zip wearing parents all breathed a sigh of relief that BL won.

Congrats to Spalding and BL on fine years.

Cant wait to see next year with new coaches at Gilman and St Pauls.

SP is the most quartered zipped school out of them all. You must be an SP parent, as usual hating on BL
SP has a long road to build back and hope they do because more competition in MIAA is more exciting than annihilating a team. Gilman is closer to getting there.

Clearly you have no idea. Clearly he was being sealed but was also the decoy. They wouldn’t slide off of him so he was content to let his teammates win the game. Unselfish

Does the MIAA allow seniors to transfer in and play all the time? Or was that just allowed this year due to Covid.

St Mary’s Twitter

Congrats to Saint ’s BJ Burlace, King Ripley, Alex Wicks & their
@TerpsMLax
teammates for punching their ticket to the
@NCAALAX
FINAL 4

Since 1971 only 3 D1 FINAL’s have been played without a Saint . Not too bad for our little school on Spa Creek.

Agree. Hope it happens. The main reason another new league would form is because the vast majority of the MIAA member schools know the league does absolutely nothing for them.
The league doesn't really give a darn about schools that aren't full-time A members. And it's a toothless org that really doesn't even protect those members either. Look at football at Loyola/St Francis and then the recruiting stuff that has happened at a myriad of places- middle school kids getting plucked by other schools. Look at the lousy treatment of the C lax teams. Look at the lousy lax scheduling for any team outside of Baltimore City/County. And the lousy effort to get anything done for ANY of the other sports. Soccer? football? It was all a joke this year. The MIAA is about as useless as it gets. The MIAA needs to go away.

Can’t believe someone is still obsessing about how old someone is who’s playing HS elite MIAA lacrosse. Needs to go back to the 5th and 6th grade Club forums were this stupidity is the main topic of discussion among the cucked hens and crybabies.

Most prefirst/reclass/holdback seniors are 18 at start of school year and turn 19 during school year. Very common, but the 19 at start and 20 during the year happens, but it is very rare and is not within the rules, Even tho it has happened a few times over many years with other coaches turning a blind eye to it.

Clearly (lol) nOT. This guy nailed you perfectly, you have not matured past the 5th-grade forum mentality, where you whined and threw temper tantrums about your undersized progeny. How do you expect your son to grow up and be a man when the “dad” still acts like a spoiled brat …very sad.

“Sorry your kid didn’t get recruited by Spalding” I see this response by many of their fans.

I have to ask. How does it feel to be recruited to Spalding? Only to have your coaches recruiting players from other high schools because they now know you aren’t good enough?

Spalding coaches didn’t wait long after losing to start contacting other HS rising juniors and seniors. Pretty pathetic to offer full tuition to bump your kid off the field. Are the coaches really that good if they can’t coach up what they have? The bench looked full of players.

Your boys better continue to hit the wall or they will continue to sit on the bench, if they get all the players they have already contacted.

SP probably has the best FOGO in the State including the MIAA and DC Area Schools. They have an MIAA caliber keeper as well. Not enough depth among their field players to get past the top 4-6 in the A Conference. Hurt by playing weak teams. Doesn't make you better.

Supposed rule. But never enforced.
Can cite multiple examples.
If a kid is willing to transfer, good luck.
