Despite losing at East Qualifier and not being one of the six qualifying teams, the Towermen hype video, begging and pleading worked and they are now somehow "invited" to go.
Another example of everything wrong with youth sports today in this everyone gets a trophy day and age.
You were eliminated at the qualifier.
Stay home. Beg and plead and you get to go? What a sorry program and bad look for the WSYL if that's true. It is on their Instagram page as of 2 days ago Just looked and dont see it Most likely 1 of 4 international spots didn’t get filled and WSYL needed a 24th team. Don’t think anyone was begging, other than WSYL to get all of their spots filled.

Towerpersons had one goal games against Madlax and VLC all star teams. I would not say there are not worthy of a spot. Seems a little arbitrary since True Annapolis also had the bad draw in group D and lost only one against BBL (by 1). I guess NJ is also better than Long Island at this point and will be well represented. There will be a few more shifts before July, have your checkbooks ready.

Winning is winning, regardless of how "close" it was. Based on your rational, why even play each other?

They will pick the next best team would be my guess. Nobody was denied a spot.

Every WSYL champ has come from North.
North has always had more teams go than East.
So why are there now 7 going from East and only 6 from North?
#7 from North "lost" a spot.
Why have the qualifiers?
$104,500 gross from East and North qualifiers for 25 and 26.

Nothing but a money grab by the clubs and the WSYL. I'm sure the WSYL started off with good intentions, but it hasn't taken long for the spirit of the event to be tainted by greed and dishonesty by both parties. Same goes for the clubs. They start off about your kids potential and how his club will take them to another level and help get them into a college program. Then they turn into politicians(good intentions to start) and then it's all about the economics to them. $$$$ These programs can't wait until after the WSYL are over and the tryouts for next season start, the top four teams will have an enormous turnout. Every parent/kid wants to play on the best team no matter their talent. $$$$ There is a tremendous amount of talent in the sport beyond club teams and a kid doesn't need to play on a club team to be noticed and to play at the college level.

You are more likely to get recruited through your club team (assuming it is a top team) than you are through your HS team.
