Thanks for that explanation about local lacrosse history. But what I was getting at is this; there is an international organization named FCA based in Kansas City that has been around for fifty years and is much bigger than lacrosse. Is that organization related to the youth lacrosse teams bearing the initials FCA? and if so, how/why did the international organization get involved in travel lacrosse teams, and don't they police the behavior of people using of their brand? yes they are associated with the lax clubs, they are in other areas similar to the True programs. obviously they don't police the families behavior. Why would they?? The Kelly name and what is has done for lacrosse in Baltimore is legendary. yup, force marginal CH kids to play FCA and promoting the hold back culture...legendary! I think they meant Calvert Hall going on the greatest run MIAA history with the greatest MIAA team in history (2019) with most of star players from FCA. definitely, and most of that team will be legally old enough to buy & drink booze by the end of their freshman year in college.

That may be true, but man can they play some lacrosse in High School.

When these kids graduate from college and hit the real world. No one will care how old they are. The only people that care are those that whine about holdbacks. Guess what in high school and college your kid will be playing against older kids. Get used to it and have little James or Timothy hit the wall

Of course age does not matter to adults, but a year difference for boys ages 11 to 14, where kids are growing their fastest, is an advantage. How about this - why don't YOU have Timothy hit the wall and then try again to compete with kids his own age?

Get used to it and have little James or Timothy hit the wall you're right, when they get into the real world. but, why not let kids compete against kids and not young adults or in the case of Calvert Hall adults. Calvert Hall has some of the best collage age kids playing high school ball.

As far as club all goes; FCA is notorious for not developing talent and simply looking for the next best thing.

As far as club all goes; FCA is notorious for not developing talent and simply looking for the next best thing. I don't think any of the better clubs do a very good job of developing talent. Some of the less competitive clubs do a good job, but lose the better kids to the top clubs. Calver Hall never stops recruiting, they will always look to improve a position. If you are a top player at a certain position and attend CH, you aren't guaranteed a position. Example, my nephew was a defender, one of the best in the Baltimore, played on the top club team and was a D1 commit going into his Junior season. CH coach recruited some out of state defenders who were thought to be better players. Said nephew was going to be benched because of the incoming players from 3 states over. A good question to ask a varsity coach before attending a school would be, if they recruit from out of state, how many kids on a roster, will you be recruiting every year attempting to find better talent than the current upper classmen on the team. Some schools only recruit for incoming players, once you are on the team, you will only lose your position to another player already in the school or an incoming freshman. Some poor kid shouldn't get cut his senior year because the coach recruited out of state players for one season.
