The original director of Looney's couldn't have cared less after his last son stopped playing club obviously gave up on looney's years ago. The new owner of the club is involved, engaged, experienced and this club will go far. I am sad that the 23 green class wasn't handled perfectly but Abrams is a stand up guy who is completely invested. Doyle left this club a disaster. Don't blame the guy who is trying to help.

Needs to break away from parent coaches, especially the high school years. If not, the new club name will be True Looneys, Mesa Looneys, or Old Bay for all ages

Whoever moderates the forum has to do a better job! Names of parents and kids including jersey numbers shouldn’t be allowed. We as parents have to be better than this!

Anyone that follows this stuff and takes it to heart is a complete chump...This forum is complete nonsense and for the irrational....Bring this garbage on the sidelines and watch parents immediately melt with disbelief and embarrassment...Although they all watch and read...A few people making noise that no one caress about.....calling out players and parents names is ridiculous.....You never know who you are blasting about...Most could care less about the drama...

Been with the club a long time. We know who we are blasting. Only way to get your frustration out without coach retaliation. This wouldn’t exist if there wasn’t a problem.

reason why the club needs to move on from parent coaches.

Club lax is a rip-off. We should return to rec with on house and travel teams. Paying $2000-$2500 for bling and daddy coaches with Bs recruiting
Seminars just fattens the wallets of directors. The best players stand out wherever they play and they improve by practicing on their own.

Agree with above. My son joined the 26 team this year and his playing time was minimal. We thought coming over from a lower level team would help with his development, but not playing much and getting yelled at for missing ground balls was not what we signed up for. A refund would be nice!!

good luck trying to find competitive rec travel / in house teams. Blame the NY'ers, they started the whole club ball mess so they could compete against out of state teams. They started winning Beach Lax and MD clubs started to form. Now NY'ers cry because their school year is different than most of the US.

is your son isn't on the top team for the age group, it really isn't worth playing for the second team. Find another program where your son will be on the field.

Well if your son is getting yelled at aka coached for not being able to pick up a GB there may be a reason he isn't getting PT. Based on watching this team play over the Fall they are loaded with talent and my guess is more talent is coming so have your son start working on his GB game before tryouts next year.

My sons have had wonderful times in Rec leagues. The lack of a consistent method to coach lax across MD really hurts the quality of rec.

im sure they have had fun. when they get a little older though, everything goes to club. most rec programs don't even have high school teams.

Another delusional Looney's 23 parent. You realize you again were placed in the lesser bracket? How about stepping up and playing some elite competition in a tournament for once? Always the B bracket. Has Looney's played Crabs, Hawks, FCA, DC Dogs or any of the top local team in 2020? This club hides more than any other.

The Saturday brackets looked pretty equal to me. There is one instance ever that they were put in a lesser bracket and they won it easily

Ahhhhh ok,,,,,Looney's does not win a game in the A bracket. Stop promoting this 23 team as elite and playing top level competition. This team played in one real bracket in DE over the summer and was owned by any Elite Team they played. The only talent on this team is the attack. Midfield, goalie, LSM and FOGOs are simply awful

no club hides more than Breakers and Hawks while competing in their own tournaments.

How do you tell the kids they have spots for next year, tell them you are setting up tryouts for new players, then end the team after most clubs held their tryouts? The players who saw the writing on the wall had no problems making other good teams. There were many solid kids on this team. I am sure a few of the new kids got screwed over. The grass is greener on the other side. So think about that next time you are hanging at Ocean Pride.
