You really need two great classes to win it all and you need four or five consecutive great recruiting classes to have a dynasty (CHC most recently, LB in the 80s and SP in the days of leather helmets and wooden sticks). I believe Spalding has a great 2022 class but the question for the next two years is as follows: are the 2021 or 2023 classes strong enough to get this 2022 class into the playoffs.

Ask the daddies drinking the Kool Aid- the rest of the lax world will be worried about the teams that can actually compete

All the talk about Spalding is hilarious. It’s a B program. Doesn’t belong in the A division. It’s a landing spot for kids who would ride the bench at St. Mary’s and Severna Park. Daddy Lids herded his Hawks kids there because the real programs wouldn’t put up with his antics.

I’ll agree with everything except “great academic” lol

I’ll agree too- butt clowns that want to discuss Spalding have no clue the long outstanding traditions of a school like Calvert Hall- St Paul’s-Gilman- Boys Latin - Loyola - even St.Marys has a lacrosse tradition that goes back 50 years or more-
Who on earth would send there kids to Spalding thinking they would win at lacrosse- have a winning season possibly in 4 years- make the playoffs possibly in 4 years

Kid didnt make Spalding again this year, OUCH ! Thats gotta hurt !

Keep drinking that kool Aid daddy!

Have your son "Hit the Wall" and you try not to be so bitter and jealous around the other parents, Who knows, you may be bragging next year on your son making Spalding ! Good Luck !

Is it hard to make Spaldings team? Watched them play at NHSLS. Not good.

Come on, You want your son to make the team, why else would you be so interested in Spalding and "watched them play". Good Luck at this year's Varsity tryouts . Miracles do happen !

Thought Spalding beat Severna Park 13-6 the last time they played in 2019?

Severna Park has beaten Spalding 4 out of the last 5 times they have played and would have beaten them this year if given the chance. I'm not sure why anyone would choose Spalding over Severna Park or Broadneck. Might as well flush your cash down the toilet.

Maybe most parents send their kids to Spalding for more reasons than lacrosse. Although initially we did choose Spalding because of lacrosse, there are so many reasons now we are grateful we did. And the fact that our child will be able to attend class in person a couple days a week vs completely virtual is icing on the cake. Their leadership, planning and communication this summer about their plans handling Covid-19 has been superb. It’s a wonderful school.

Be truthful there is not a big difference in play Team would of won without guest players. If the BL player had a different name no one would really care. Was not a prolific scorer, doesn’t play defense and takes every run tho. Personally feel the CH player is better. To add two offensive players was unnecessary

Just noticed the player spoken about was given offensive player of game. Didn’t score a goal til it was 9-0. No points in first quarter and it was 6-0 after first. This Has become very funny. It will be interesting to see when IL rankings come out how much favoritism happens player should not be top 5 but will probably be. inside lacrosse Will be judged. There was a full time Hawk that Had big numbers in first quarter and a half enough is enough yet “other players “ are only rewarded because their dad
Did not see the game and it doesn’t sound like the player was deserving of Player of the Game. However, there is no question that he is a top 5 player in this class. You can’t blame the kid for playing. It is not as if he jumped the fence and ran on the field. A lot of Hawks kids are feeling betrayed and you’ll see turnover which at this stage in club ball is unfortunate. Brotherhood hashtags only go so far.

I agree he is a top 5 kid in class and will probably be 2 or 3 behind Spallina and rightfully so Your right it isn’t the kids fault and the betrayal to the loyal kids is what is upsetting

Clearly LIDS has done it wrong again doing it all for a club summer championship in a broken down bracket of teams The added players are good but it is very clear to everyone that the one BL player gets media attention from his dads past success which is wrong if the player had a different last name wouldn’t be on top 10 but he is a good player The issue here is the why? This team has been established people have entrusted the organization with time and money and to be basically tossed away creates anger and distrust

ONCE AGAIN, building teams through social media hype is just marketing. These coaches roll the ball out on the field and let 24 of the best players in the country go to work, then take credit for being great coaches.

Probably the most valid point so far that actually analyzes and applies some common sense instead of detest to the argument. If half of the kids sitting on CHC's sideline for 4 years went to other schools, you might see some more parity, but for some, it is just about playing for "______" and actually playing doesn't matter. That logic doesn't make a lot of sense as it pertains to high school athletics, but to each his own. Maybe it is all about academics for the 40 or so kids that happens to.

Maybe because some parents dont live through their kids lacrosse career to achieve some sort of "social status" that doesn't exist, or is just filled with other like-minded snowflake-drama queens?

If they sent them to Spalding then clearly they don't live through their kids lacrosse career.

Wow! So impressive. #1 club lacrosse team. In a few years you will look back and realize how silly you were spouting off about it. No one cares.
