The faceoff kid is actually a 2026, but no, he wasn't there.
That’s a fib. Kid was there for all 3 losses. Did fairly well also. The losses were not on him.

Thank You Since the majority of our kids are on 2nd teams or A teams at 2nd tier clubs. Which ones are solid? Solid means the team actually gets a positive experience, good practice, good communication, year round activities, etc. in my opinion, the list is below. Will 91A team take any new players? If they are better than what they have, You Betcha! They also invite kids down that they want to see. This year 91 isn’t even pretending to hide the current players from new kids. Besides the team helmets, they will be wearing their game jerseys. Big athletes and fast, tough gritty feeders are going to be needed for all the teams over the next few years to keep up with the holdbacks. Many of the non LI teams got really big this year, ask Express. And more are coming. So if your kid is better than all of his friends in town, give it a try. But be honest about your kid, because most of these kids are either very good or connected.

Clearly this is your first kid with a statement as every club does not have to be a AA team it is about your coach making calls and your son performing at showcases and prospect camps let me know how many guys CoachC places on one team at a high level .... Go back to paying for your privates .....

You hear the BS line how it makes everyone better yet you'll have a roster of 30+ kids all paying in. Find a club that really cares about development and where you'll get enough playing time to make it matter.

They all provided what they could in lieu of the current circumstances. Is traveling to PA or CT to play teams the next town over the best product they could provide?? Probably not. But they did enough so you cant ask for your $ back. In terms of this age group, which teams performed well in the summer of playdates? ? Seems like a ton of parity these days.......

Only the players and parents believe they're an A team Confirmed, they are a very good B team. Which is fine not every team has to be AA. You are correct this True Blue team is combined for the summer due to Covid A/B. But Seemed to handle 91 Combined AA/B players pretty well this weekend. Just saying...

True Blue mediocre at Best. All of these teams are subpar and have all fallen off. Rush, True Blue, Igloo, Regulators, Rebels, Roar, etc All teh same junk with a different smell.... But as long as your kid is happy. Get him with a program that he likes and that has a good coach. Rest of it dont matter. They arent playing pro

Problem is where is there good coaching? Express guy? I read alot of negative about him. Legacy? The guy from Igloo seems good but he dont have the horses. Rebels guy just fights with refs whole game and runs the same play..TruBlue guy just screams at Kids... Force coach? I havent seen a guy out there who can coach and still connect with the kids. They all think these kids are college players.

Just a comment on tryouts. The smartest teams are the ones not charging for tryouts.
Most teams are inviting back their prior team who doesnt need to tryout.
So if people decide to tryout, they know it's for minimal spots if any.
Teams that dont charge for tryouts this year, like Express, will get more people who actually come. Those who charge will probably not have a good turnout.
Just a general observation.

They are all going to charge for tryouts. The catch will be there will be little to no turnover on most teams due to pandemic . Teams have stated teams will remain intact unless a kid chooses to leave. I get emails everyday from Rebels and Legacy for Gods sake!

Just a comment on tryouts. The smartest teams are the ones not charging for tryouts.
Most teams are inviting back their prior team who doesnt need to tryout.
So if people decide to tryout, they know it's for minimal spots if any.
Teams that dont charge for tryouts this year, like Express, will get more people who actually come. Those who charge will probably not have a good turnout.
Just a general observation. Express tryouts were free and had a decent turnout yesterday. Anyone with potential to make the real team or all future B teamers?

Considering bringing my son to 91. Can someone who is informed give the pros and cons?Very hard to gauge what has happened with that team There are a lot of positives with this team. Great/balanced coaching and a deep bench. When this team is firing on all cylinders, I don’t think anyone can beat them. But they are inconsistent. Typically a fair sized roster. Influential coaches within the overall lax community, as well. This will be a positive in a few years when it comes to recruiting. There is some nepotism, however. Some connected kids that will always play. Also, parents can be cut throat. If your kid makes a mistake, you will feel it. But if your kid is a stud, this could be a good place for you. Viper 2025 is a sleeper team. Coaches are great with the kids. If they get a decent goalie, they could surprise some people. Not all Bethpage kids either.

Some of the Force players were very good. True. They had some players that any AA team would love to have. 91 picked a few likely and probably cut a few. Merry go round continues. It's not A-B-C, or even AAA, AA, A any longer. It's now AAA Platinum Elite (Express, 91), AAA Select (Goldrush, Igloo) AAA Prime (Rebels, True Blue, Shore to Shore) and AAA Special (Legacy, Regulators, Empire). The B teams are now referred to as plain AAA (no modifier) and the C teams are AA. If your kid plays on one of the top AAA teams and not AAA or AA, then congratulations. My son? I would have him play for Express or 91, but he's good enough to play for one of the true AAAA DiamondBurstSpaceForce teams.

You are all haters. My son crushed it this summer at the 2025 level...totally dominated. So worth it that we reshirted him in pre-school and reclassed him twice. Plus all the other parents love us because he has his drivers license going into 8th grade and can drive their kids to practice. The $500,000+ spent on prep schools, club teams, showcases, travel, private training will be all worth it when he gets that $3,000 partial scholarship to State U. and all you haters are paying full price.

There are so many variables to this question that it’s tough to answer If your kid has been on the A team for awhile and has seen his game time minutes shrink......it may be time to look for a different spot If you were in B team and just got moved up to the A team then let him see what he can do. He won’t get a lot of minutes but at least he knows where he needs to be. Bottom line is if your driving hours on end to tournaments and your kid isnt playing it will be tough. And never waste your time on the B team of the bigger or smaller clubs. The clubs don’t care about them at all.

In my experience, there is NO substitute for playing time in games. None. One of my kids looks great in practice. Soft hands, great handle, does tons of wall ball and can pick any spot in the cage to shoot. Great in a 1 on 1. He stinks in games. He has the lax IQ of a brick. Always in the wrong place at the wrong time. But, he plays in games on his B team - and slowly but surely he’s getting better. He wouldn’t be if he was part of the practice squad on the top team because he’d never get on the field. Knowing how to do something and being able to do it under pressure are two different things. The pressure really only exists in games. My other kid is on a top tier A team and plays a lot so I know the difference. Parents get wrapped up in A team B team nonsense. Lax Parent 1: “My son is on the AAAA TopGunSpaceForce Team.” Experienced Lax Parent 2: “Wow, that’s great. Does he play?” Lax Parent 1: “Uuuuuh, um, no. But the practices are great!” Experienced Lax Parent 2: “Ah, yes. I’ve heard that.” Whichever team is going to help your son get better is the A team for him. Hope that helps.

FLG is a well run organization with good leadership and great coaches. Teams create great camaraderie within the group while working hard. Position practices are well run. I would recommend joining.

My son is trying out for FLG today. Does anyone have any feedback on their program (how it's run)? The events are well run and they sorta never get involved with the LI drama. But they are a national program. Some Force players are rumored to be going to there after that club shuttered.

Former FLG parent. I liked the program, wanted to be on a stronger team that practiced together as a team more often. I'd say it was a good experience if you were balancing lacrosse with other sports, but if you are all in for lacrosse there are other more demanding programs. Depends what you are looking for. Won't be the best team, but not all in either. They strayed away from the "no parent coaches" which was a negative for me, but most programs have parent coaches as well.

All the speed and strength changed tides. The "bigger kids" are now Average sized so that childhood advantage is now moot. Get ready for a lot of surprises. People may want to put their car magnets in the glove box at this point because the hierarchy is changing.

The best 4th grade teams over the years were also the best HS teams on Long Island. Now step away from Long Island, yes the scales do balance, especially with the National teams. But the LI teams “hierarchy” remains a constant. 2020 - Crush best from day 1 2021- Blaze and Black Ice best on LI since 3rd grade 2022- Express, 91, and Igloo best since 3rd grade 2023- 91 and Express since 2nd grade 2024- 91 2025 - Express and 91 2026 - Express and 91 etc etc etc

Rush got beat by the Rebels (without the Rebs 9th graders) and had to hold on for dear life against the Regulators, who had 18 kids on the team. A couple of teams lost their best players, where they wind up may tip the balance a bit. I know 91 added top kids from at least 3 different programs. Don't be surprised if 91 pulls away from Express, and Express winds up in the Rush-Rebels-Regulators morass of mediocrity.

RUSH is mediocre at best. Same with Rebels. Neither play team ball. They have 1 or 2 kids that the offense runs thru and everyone on field knows it. Best teams spread the ball around and have multiple threats. Problem is the coaches...they cant see it. They still try to call out every move. "Good time" Really? Just get a megaphone a tell the entire tournament you want your kid to go to the cage. SMH. Let the kids play. Coach them in practice and then have faith in your system. Let them be lacrosse players, no drones. Until a team does that they will all be 1 trick pony's!

The Express parents on the sidelines after that performance were a lot like the Hillary voters in November, 2016 - wait, what just happened?? We're leaving when the parking lot is still full?? Some kids will hit their growth spurts this year while others will grow later. Depending on the timing, that might mean Express continues to struggle this year. Not that Express won't wind up back on top, but anyone thinking that the transition from best 5th grade team to best 10th grade team is a seamless one may be disappointed.

How does USCL have Madlax > Express? no chance Madlax and us club lax affiliated. Ranking is rigged to make Madlax look good. Express lost (10-5 to Primetime) vs. Madlax going a clean 12-0 this summer...advantage Madlax Express split with 91 and they didn’t even get into the top 100!!!!!! Hehehe

Over the last 2 years Force has beaten rush, igloo, rebels, shore 2 shore, and regulators. They have also lost to some of those teams as well. They had solid starters but depth was a issue.

He's smart enough to set the model once again that all clubs are following. Load up those teams boys! Make dat money.
