On Wednesday, World Lacrosse issued a joint statement with the International World Games Association and The World Games 2022 Birmingham Organizing Committee regarding a consideration to potentially change the format for the lacrosse competition in the upcoming World Games.

This comes in response to significant debate on social media regarding the Iroquois Nationals' exclusion from The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama. Leo Dolan, executive director of the Iroquois Nationals, said on the Elias Makos Show that he's working to form a National Olympic Committee.
