So 1 girl beat MD all by herself? That’s laughable!!

Actually 2 girls took the draw for legacy and yes draw control is important, but legacy tends to turn the ball over so much anyway. What was impressive was their defense holding MD to 4 goals and outstanding goalie play.

Legacy is a solid team, keep in mind their best players left YJ for that program. Now they will be making UA over the friends and family! Love it!

Agreed it's a solid team but regarding UA last year . . . don't recall ALL those "best players" making it.

Good for them, and for LI girls lax. YJ has been bragging about how great they are/will be for years. They are a good team, but not ahead of several others, which they somehow think they deserve to be due to the club legacy. They would do best being humble and admit that they are in the same league as TG, Legacy (who just beat Grizzlies), and now Jesters. Seems like you’re lashing out at TG? They did win the Mid-Atlantic last summer, even with several girls hurt? Yes. All teams have to deal with injuries, and unfortunately no team will ever be completely healthy. You should focus on the great competitive teams LI has in this age group!

Are those 4 starting mid YJ AAs you speak of the same girls who couldn't win a draw against the Jesters and cost them the game?Hmmmmmmmmm

Huge conflict of interest. They are the evaluators of their own kids. Literally own daughters and literally coaches of their own club teams. Those other poor other kids that are not daughters of or play for 2 of evalutors lost their spots before hitting the field.

Defense and goalie play was excellent for sure but it was a team effort. Everyone showed up. Great team effort and team win.

No obvious restrictions. Game rules were the same. Everyone was supposed to have a mask with them if social distancing wasn't possible but saw very few people wearing them. Obviously no team tents or anything so the girls mostly sat in cars in A/C between games.

Nobody that left YJ for Legacy would start on YJ's team. Legacy is a distant 3rd behind both YJ and TG.

Is that the same Legacy team that tied SJS select and scored 2 goals against Dewlax in a 4-2 loss? Did the UA girl who single handily beat M&D play?

The SJS tie was caused completely by one butt-hurt official who wasn't going to stop until SJS scored a goal. First, he unjustly ejects one of the Legacy coaches and gives Legacy a 2 man down penalty. Legacy gets the 2 men down penalty kill ending with a save. The same official then gives SJS a free position. Goalie saves it again. Then he gives them another free position, the shot goes in and the game ends a minute later. SJS is a good team and the game could have gone either way on any given day. But the tie on Sunday was 100% caused by the official being angry and reffing the score to make a point.

The wheels came off the bus on the Dewlax game. Then, the bus crashed into a tree, caught fire, and tumbled off a cliff to sink to the bottom of the ocean.

Even if the ref was biased. Legacy claims to have top talent that will be making UA in place YJ girls. Legacy should have been able to score more than 6 goals against SJS and against Dewlax 2 goals is really sad. YJ and TG offenses are exceptional.

An exceptional offense should be able to score more than 10 goals on the Jesters.

23 YJ DaBlaiso 2020 great QUOTES!

"YJ...offenses are exceptional."
"Talent to Torch"
"Island's top team"

The coaching staffs do not pick the team. Sounds good but that’s the facts. There’s a 1/2 dozen outside evaluators at each tryout. In this case the players you are whining about happen to be the strongest players in the group. Find another excuse to be a hater. This LI team will do well at UA. Very talented pool to pick 23 from. Great for the Island. Please have some hometown pride and wish them all well.

I love it. Legacy leaves LI to play top competition while YJ parents all sit home, fuming on BOTC, licking their wounds from their "talent to torch" getting torched by Jesters and trying to save some face by spewing vitriol about UA this or that.

How about this? I won't be taking my daughter to UA tryouts. First, this year is a sham and they're going to just take your tryout money and have no tournament. Bet on it. Second, I wouldn't let Becky Thorn near my daughter for fear that her stupidity and laziness might be as contagious as COVID-19.

This is great! 4 solid teams in the age group. This is as it should be !
Legacy, Jesters , TG, YJ. I can hear the nervousness in the snarky comments. This is the beauty of a competitive playing field. Let’s have some more games. Jesters played YJ last week to a 1 goal win. No one saying they werent the better team that day. There are lots of days. It’s up to you people. The parents need to ask for more. Demand it of your club.

Yes, my daughter plays for TG. Sometimes we look great, and at other times we haven't been able to get it together. Seems about the same for the other big 4. I do believe any other these teams could beat each other one day and lose the next. Maybe time to stop beating chests like the other poster suggested and do whats best for the girls. Play lacrosse!! Many will play together in college, time for the parents to calm down!

It's only the YJ DeBlasio/Dumpster-Fire team that needs to settle down. They've been yapping and not doing for 5 long years. Its no wonder why people think they're stunads. Instead of burning talent, they should burn vocal cords and keyboards.

Have to agree. That team needs to come to grips that they are not the typical YJ dominance we have seen from other YJ teams. That team has been a mess from day one. Reason many split. I’m sure the YJ organization will continue to be tops on LI, just not for this group. So if those parents can get off their high horse, would be nice!

Legit question about the Brookhaven Bandits. We are from the Eastern end and looking for a tryout possibly for our 2023 daughter. What’s the level and are the players on this team on other club teams too? What is the commitment level. And when are tryouts ?
Thank you in advance.

If this is current, it looks like the 2023 team is full. Contact info is included in the link and they are also on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

detest on YJ 23 all you want, but they been together for less than a year and dominated teams in the fall... Yes they lost a scrimmage by 1 goal to Jesters. I wouldn't bet on that happening again. I heard they scrimmaged the 21 Rose team the other night and did very well. That Rose team has 22 top D1 commits. Nobody is saying they would beat them in a real game, but they did beat them in a scrimmage the other night. That team will have some road bumps with chemistry but the talent from top to bottom is the best there is for 2023. If you say that's wrong then you have no clue about lacrosse. Just look at the talent up and down that roster. You will most likely see 8 of them on the UA command roster in a couple weeks. Good luck to all the girls at tryouts, and even if they don't have the actual tourney, the competition to the tryout is worth the fee. Let's get some more scrimmages/games for this age locally on long island.

Thanks YJ daddy. You heard about the scrimmage ...

We never said the girls aren’t talented. We said the team doesn’t win, the coach stinks and the parents are annoying - and quite dense.

The word “scrimmage” suggests it was less than it was. The game was played with fully paid and accredited refs who officiated using all rules and regulations to date. The game was full length, was filmed, and even a yellow card was given to the Jesters top player. Nice game all around. Where are TG and Legacy with scheduling games?

This is so refreshing and correct. Thank you!

22 D1 commits and they lose to a 23 team. Overrated D1 commits.
8 YJ UA girls is due their coach being the UA coach. Jesters beat all those UA players end of story. Dominated the Grizzlies in the fall it was a tie.

You did not beat the 2021 Rose team, you beat the players that were able to show-up to practice. You have the entire team there and you know the result. You now have other YJ teams cheering against you now. Clown show...

There has always been snickering with the 23 YJ team, but it was made worse the past few months with the "Talent to Torch" (One of my all-time favorite statements) and the "best team on the island" talk because of the merger. Now we get the "that won't happen again" statement.

When a team needs a merger to be good there has to be something majorly wrong in the first place. Chemistry and coaching is paramount and this team has a long way to go (from a 23 parent).

Beating Rose’s team is big win for the 23 team and at the same time very embarrassing to the 2021 team.
