Why a partial refund? You paid for a service if its cancelled two options either a full refund or credit for next summer season.

Season starts in fall. most teams winter train too. Tournaments have been paid for. I am sure clubs will work with parents to get some credit or refund.
Lets hope for summer season to happen.

I can see some offer. Like 1000 dollar check back. Maybe 1200,1500 credit towards next season. Something like that. Let’s face it, if 250,300 kids play for a club. They aren’t cutting a million dollars in checks. They aren’t Fortune 500 companies. Yes they do well, some really well, but that’s not happening. Remember, it isn’t clubs fault this situation is happening. Second most club directors are regular guys, with regular jobs. Yes they make profits, but I don’t think most clubs even have a million bucks sitting in accounts to even give refunds of this magnitude.

Yea, I agree. You also have to remember that club started in the Fall for most clubs and I believe July will be comprised of playing (being optimistic) so therefore a couple of months were affected by this virus. It’s times like this when we should support the small businesses and work with them rather than get a prorated amount which they unlikely have...

Get the heck out of here. Some of these clubs charge late fees, percentage if credit card used. advertised a service from beginning (fall) to last tournament. If partial service is received, partial refund is given. They've made very good salaries (owners) for many years, and raised prices annually. Don't mix personal feelings with business!

Should be pro rated.. A credit wont work because you may not be back next season... There was fall training and tourneys.... So they earned some compensation. What about the 1000 fundraisers for Denver? where does that $ go? They should donate it to research for this virus....That being said you will be charged a "Refund fee" that wipes out the refund. Good luck!

Hopefully, everything will workout for the summer season. If for some reason the season does get cancelled, I believe the reputation of these clubs will hinge on how they handle the situation. I'll be watching it closely.

LOL this is funny. Outfits that make you pay for a letter of recommendation, imply that privates are essential, make crazy profits on swag, tell you to bring your own ball to tryout and to pay for that tryout. The same outfits that double dip by running clubs AND tournament circuits. These are the ethical people we think are going to fully refund fees? Yeah ok

Some clubs have already scheduled tryouts; Legacy, Igloo.
I will not give any of these clubs a dime of my money in advance!

I dont expect a full refund lets be real . They bought equipment, indoor , fall tournaments and some winter . BUT .. missing winter practice , spring practices and summer tournaments. They are quick to throw a late fee out and charge $125 for extra tournament like legacy. Give something back to the consumer while that money is growing in there accounts. Its easy to figure out how much they bring in simple adding , multiplying and division they make great money that they can afford
Partial refund. Don’t give me “hey next year” it will go to tuition. No way Don’t fall for it people DON’T!!!!! Lets gets smart to these people . Be safe

Even if it does come back missing practices now which is $$$ . I know we are in a bad Situation now. They have to refund . No question about it . All sports have to , know a friend pays $4,500 for baseball . No word there also. These clubs not loyal to you then we are to them . Speak up , call them , email them . Put pressure on them . If you just paid a payment call your credit card , i did and got that payment back. Hopefully the LAX customer starts to smarten up . If your not happy with your Landscaper see how fast you call them or dont pay them !!!

Agree. No credit towards next year, son isn't returning to same club if there is a next season. Has anyone received an update on clubs intentions once things open up? I haven't, I know they took the money from my account 2 week ago. Additionally, club was holding paid for clinics up until last Friday!

If the rest of the season? Let’s cross that bridge if and when we get there. If things start in time for Summer, I am fine and wouldn’t even expect a refund. It is just missing a few months in the midst of a global crisis. Heck some clubs do nothing for months anyway.

Yes very true , get other parents going . Times are tough everyone don’t live privileged lacrosse world. Parents make it happen put there kids in the sport , we deal with increasing fees every year and increase tryout fees every yr .

Ridiculous having clinics but practice is cancelled at the same facility ? Theres only a few clubs that i know of have there own place. Think someone said in on a different topic about that organization.

The economy has ground to a halt.
Cuomo is saying NYS is bankrupt.
Hopefully we can bounce back quickly but if it does not, parents will bring pitchforks and torches out against the clubs who not do the right thing.

The owner of the Turtles is bad news. Believe me, business wise, if he felt you were screwing him over, he would not hesitate serving you with legal papers.

Big clubs should have no problem with some refund. Smaller ones might not have cash on hand. I believe all will do right thing for families. BOC has a few stunads on it, but in general the lax community are good people. We need to get through this all together and come out stronger. God Bless and wishing all good health. Nothing, I mean nothing else matters right now

This is a great post. My wife lost her job and we're down to one month of savings in the bank. I already got a refund on my other memberships and I need a break on three club teams I paid an entire year for already. PLEASE REFUND

For most clubs the #1 expense will be the tournament fees. In many cases, those fees have been paid (at least in part) for Sping and Summer tournaments. Those tournaments which are cancelled SHOULD refund registration fees. If/when that happens, the Clubs should certainly refund a prorated amount back to families.

Recruiting dead period. The kids hurt most are 2021s. Coaches have already said they’re holding off recruiting them because of the overflow of kids sticking around

Come on every pro sport is done . Maybe NFL delayed. US open tennis in September hearing might be cancelled and you really think youth Lacrosse at a rented field that is usually at a school is a go ?

Sadly yes, one of the largest clubs on Long Island requires you to bring a ball to a paid tryout and the coaches are on their own pretty much throughout the season with respect to balls etc.

Our club reached out and stated that should cancellations happen an appropriate refund would be given. They feel that by May, there would be a more clear picture of what would be happening in summer. We are not an East Coast club so travel and re-scheduled tournaments can be a very expensive option for us and every other team not on the East Coast. Not sure what this summer will look like, but I hope to at least have my children playing by July if it’s safe.

Well the Turtles took the last payment, cancelled practices, but held paid for clinics at the Turtle Dome.

Did they ? Heard 91 giving partial tuition back .

The owner of the Turtles is bad news. Believe me, business wise, if he felt you were screwing him over, he would not hesitate serving you with legal papers.

My son's club owner/director sends out an email saying "Turtles organization" monitoring the COVDI-19 situation, like they are doing us a favor. I have more than one child playing with them, and when I call, I receive the typical "we have to wait and see answer." Money is tight right now, and what makes them (Turtles) so special compared to the rest of us? I will never buy anything from their store(s) again. Last months AMEX bill was paid, but I will call to take back the charge from March 1st, But first, when I call AMEX, I'll explain; we have to wait and see before you get paid. Wonder what their response will be?

Listen man, I want money back also. There must be 300 kids on club team. 4 grand a kid. Do teams have 1.2 million in an account? Half refund would be 600 grand. Do they have that laying around? I have no idea. I don’t own a lacrosse club. I made 180 grand last year. After taxes 130 grand. I couldn’t write a check for 10 grand right now. I live on my pay checks. My family lives on these checks. My point is at the end of the year I didn’t have 130 grand sitting in a bank account. Do these clubs have money to do this? It’s not Disney, It’s not McDonald’s, these club teams aren’t Fortune 500 companies. My friend just got in a fight with airline because he wanted money back, instead he got a credit voucher for next year. He wanted money to pay bills, not 2021 airline tickets. It’s crazy what’s going on right now. I know nothing about owning a club lacrosse team. I would be shocked if they had a million dollars sitting in a bank account. I hope I’m wrong. I’d love a nice check back.

Hey Man. I don't think anyone is expecting to receive a FULL refund. But taking the last payment on March 1st? I don't know the expense of running a lax club. Anyone can research the amount paid for each tournament along with low quality coach staff and many of these clubs are making a small fortune for the service they provide. It's simple math; March 1st payment was due, on average $500, 23 kids x 7 teams. so tell me, you can't refund a portion of the last payment? On top of that, the owners kid was running paid for clinics at the Turtle dome after hopkins canceled their season. It's bad business!

A number of tournaments require at least 1/2 down early in the year. Just the way it is.

Are you referring to this;
Website forums and Back of the cage. I have not been on these sites since November of 2011 and I've never slept better. We expect that no Turtles parents engage in any commentary on any online forums. It is toxic waste of the most epic proportion and the idea that people think it's appropriate to write terrible things about young boys is pathetic. Please do not be one of these people who need to get a life. No teams or players are getting scholarships at this age and these forums that allow anonymous commenting are terrible for the sport. DON'T DO IT.

I do very well managing my money, but when I pay for a service and don't receive those services, there's a problem. Seems like some club owners, especially the ones short in stature, can't manage their money.

Seriously if you are so unhappy with your club coach or director. Call him or email him directly. That’s what I would do. Not on an anonymous site.

Then they take it out on your kid. You get pissed off at the coach, then the coach runs to the director and says you threatened him.

Customers have a right to say what they want to say. I just don’t think these personal gripes you have, will get resolved on this board. You sound really mad at your coach. I can tell you this, no club team is perfect. Some sort of problems on every team. If your phone conversation or email doesn’t resolve your problem, have your son tryout elsewhere next season. Good luck to you.

detest to be the bearer of bad news, but most clubs probably don't have the money to issue refunds. They have likely already paid out a good percentage of their money for tournament/league fees, field rentals and insurance. Maybe when things settle out there will be some refunds flowing back through the clubs to parents, but that will not happen for awhile.

Summer Tournaments will try to push to the fall before they cancel. Clubs won't have tryouts this summer. Teams kept intact and you will get a partial credit for next season.

This makes the most sense. However, didn't a couple of clubs post dates for early try-outs? Or was that just a rumor?

It was so much easier with the local rec model. Same set of kids and 25% of the cost.

Man-O-Man nothing from the clubs what so ever . Wake up people when they want a payment you hear from them . They are not loyal as you are to them . They wouldn’t even have your address on file to send you the payment back. They all are slime balls . Didn’t even get a nice Happy Easter from them . But no body will learn when life goes back to normal everyone will pay more for tryouts and more for tuition. They don’t want to help some families in desperate needs and do the right thing , one club owner called my friend about a payment and threatened him about small claim and his son wont play for another team next year.

That sounds hard to believe. What club threatened your friend ? Question is, how can they require payment when they can't provide the service that you are paying for.
If anyone has paid fees for winter and spring training/sessions/practice they should have issued refunds.
Summer payments are still in limbo. If summer is cancelled, I am sure there is a parent of one of these kids playing for one of these organizations that could put together a class action lawsuit. Unless the clubs do the right thing and refund payments.

I think it’s a wait and see at this point with clubs. This never happened before. Nobody knows what’s going on. Even the so called experts. If your club is actually collecting money right now, that’s a problem. That’s awful. However as far as refunds go. We need to be patient. If clubs go June and half of July that’s 6 weeks. Maybe a smaller refund would be credited. If there is no June and July, a larger refund would be credited. I assume this would take place. Nobody knows what June will be. I’d love a refund check. I could use the money. There has to be some flexibility with the clubs, there had to be some flexibility with customers.

Don't need a class action, too expensive unless a lawyer dad want to do it, small claims suits are the way to $25 to file. Can you imagine 100 of lawsuits coming your way? They will pay up or go bankrupt.

It’s not the directors fault for the Corona Virus. Relax. We are all in business to make money, like everyone of us and other business in the world. I’m sure the house and headquarters were built way before the Corona virus. Why don’t you wait and see how the refund process plays out before you criticize.

Most clubs are in a holding pattern to see exactly what happens. When a final decision has actually been made, and spring/summer is definitely cancelled, i’m sure there will be more dialogue as to refunds / credits / etc. Most reasonable people believe that this spring/summer season is not happening, but there is no final decision / declaration, so why would anyone get crazy at this exact moment about refunding money etc?
I can tell you why people are getting crazy in MD ... because clubs are beginning to ask for more money. They've already collected money for spring which is a no-go - now they want us to fork over more money for a summer that may not happen

And that points out the problem with travel lax. When coaching becomes a "business" then its no longer about the sport, of your passion for the sport or most importantly, the kids.

The problem with waiting and relaxing about refunds is that the parents already know how bad these clubs treats most of them and don't trust them. If the club/parent relationship was solid, I would agree about relaxing and waiting. But blame the parents and clubs for this situation. Express only takes CC because its easier for them and then they card you processing fees on thousands of dollars!!!! Hard to be patient with a club like that.

That's the issue, "Who" has the final decision? All travel teams in this country run without any kind of consumer protection. My only advice would be for you to contact your credit card company immediately and try to get them to put a dispute on the travel team charges. I wouldn't pay another red cent to any of these clubs.

What club in MD is asking for more money? If your club is asking you for more money right now you are being scammed. I have to call BS on this. My kid plays club in MD and we talk to parents from many of the other clubs. If a club asked them for more money right now they would leave. There's too many options.

Ok, big tournaments are starting to be canceled......let’s see the clubs refund our money. The right thing to do!

Anyone know what the attentions are with the tourney organizers? Move to later in summer - will they give refunds if tourney is cancelled or team can’t go on new date?

What tourneys will help clubs decide if refunds can be made.

We’re looking at full refunds, not partial. Paid for product that wasn’t delivered. Contact your credit card company!

Check the fine print when you paid your bill. Some clubs have some print where you waive your right for a refund when you agree / pay.

You can write anything you want but it is not enforceable unless I sign it.

Full refunds? How does that make any sense? There was the fall and winter and uniforms and equipment was delivered. At least that’s case with my sons club. Spring, sure was lost. But if we do a lot during the summer months, maybe some sorta of discount. But full? It’s not like a product wasn’t delivered out of negligence, it was a global pandemic. And our club has said to reach out and offered help. My older son was offered class room teaching at his university and now is doing remotely, go prorated room and board, but tuition is as is.

What club in MD is asking for more money? If your club is asking you for more money right now you are being scammed. I have to call BS on this. My kid plays club in MD and we talk to parents from many of the other clubs. If a club asked them for more money right now they would leave. There's too many options.
You can call BS on this all you want but you're wrong !!!! A girls club in MD just asked for summer fees. An email was sent the other day asking for summer dues.

Most teams probably hadn't even given out uniforms yet. My son has never gotten a uniform before the late spring/summer season is starting. Usually practice pinnies for the first 3/4 of the year. I've always wondered what takes so long to get the LAX gear. Other sports you get your uniforms in 2 weeks. Seems to be 6 months in lax.

Full refunds wont happen and probably shouldn't. There were fall tournaments, fall practices, winter practices and uniforms. But partial refunds should definitely be sent out. Credits wont work because what if you don't want to stay with the same club?

That is insanity. I actually believe you the more I think about it. The worst part is I am sure the money was handed over immediately to the club smile

I'm so tired of people saying "I call BS on this" !!!!!
Please don't make people post an email on here that was meant only for players/parents of one club. A girls club in Maryland ABSOLUTELY asked for money for summer dues. Just because you don't believe it doesn't mean it didn't happen. It did. Maybe some other clubs have already collected fees for the summer so they don't have to ask for $$ right now - who knows. The point is people have paid their clubs for a spring season that has not happened - so the clubs are already in possession of spring fees - for girls around Maryland that is between $450 - $650 depending on your club. Some clubs in Maryland may already be in possession of summer dues/fees which is another $550-$800 depending on your club & the tournaments you play in. Some clubs that have not already billed for summer are doing so now and asking parents to fork over another $500-$800 for a season that most likely will not happen. People are rightfully hesitating on paying them. I think people's position is not that they don't want to pay their fees or want the club out any money. It's that they've already paid for spring and have gotten nothing and do not want to pay for summer and get nothing again. A poster said when you accept your position on the club team you agree to pay for a year's term. Well no one would agree to paying for 12 months of club but only getting 6 months of actual lacrosse. That is the silliest thing I've heard. I know that soccer and baseball are in the same situation and it stinks. I've heard the argument that clubs are collecting money now for this summer or have already collected it for this summer and don't want to refund it because it is used for next year's tournaments. Right now no clubs are paying for field rentals or officiating. No tournaments are either. There's administrative costs. If tournaments won't refund the money but are willing to apply it to next year's (2021) tournament then there is no need for clubs to have to put out money for next year. It's already paid. See why parents are hesitant to hand over more money or are asking for at least partial refunds back ???!!!

Maybe this will be a good lesson for all. If you are robbing Peter to pay Paul something needs to change.

I personally do not want a full refund and most people probably don't either - that's absurd. I don't even mind that the money I paid for spring may be credited to next year's dues. But I do not want to pay any more money until there is some clarification of what will happen this summer. And I don't think that's unreasonable

Maybe you're misunderstanding what the posters are saying. They're not saying that Club X's annual dues are $2,000 and suddenly they asking for additional fees over the stated $2,000. They're saying this particular club is asking for the portion of the fees that covers their summer season and people don't want to pay that portion since summer is unlikely to happen. The club they're talking about bills in 4 separate installments. Parents have already paid the portions of the annual dues that covers fall/winter/spring. And since they've paid for spring and lacrosse was canceled they're balking at paying for summer too.

So you're correct in that this club is not asking for additional fees that go above their regular annual dues. But that's not what people meant when they said they were being asking to pay more money. Maybe that should've been made more clear.

Thank you for the clarification. Still tough to be shelling out any money for lax right now.

The big clubs have been printing or stealing money for a long long time. Then can afford to forego this summer. The gravy train will be running again in 2021

Its going to be interesting to see how many clubs try and keep the summer tuition that everyone has ponied up. Has anyone been contacted regarding refunds ?
I have not heard from my sons club team. They also have not asked for my final tuition payment.

The only message sent by the Turtles informing us the PAL season was cancelled. Nothing about refunds. Thinking about it, they were charging people $100 if you were late with March payment.

Many of these club owners think they are a step above their consumers, I think there's couple names for what they are doing; stealing, fraud.

What are you basing that on? You really think in 6-8 weeks from now people will be comfortable sharing portable bathrooms? Shut Down most likely lasting months more for NYC and the surrounding areas.

Colleges are already cancelling all summer lax prospect camps, as late as the end of July. This summer season looks like a wash. Even if the clubs want and are willing to play, they will have no where to play them.

I bet there will be places willing to hold events in GA, FL, NC, SC. The question will be if clubs from the North East will risk traveling to these events but the events will happen.

Why would you log on to a thread called "should travel team issue refunds" and then say someone who posted (however long winded) about the topic is tired or ranting. They're talking about the topic of the thread.

Maybe they should rant about reclassifications ?? Than you'd like it better ??

Wow, what did the turtles owner do to you to make you so upset? It could be one, or all of three things; money, your kid, or he slept with your wife. If you don't care for the organization, cut your losses and move on. Youth Lacrosse has been off the radar for 2 months as of now and most likely we will not see it for a while.

One of the bigger MD clubs is saying if the season is cancelled, they hope to return half of the tuition after any fees they can't get back and a small stipend for the coaches. There will not be tryouts in August. Things will crank back up in the fall with the same roster. I think that sounds fair.

There is talk of holding tournaments into late August and over Labor Day. My family has no interest in that. If I had a '22, I would feel differently.

Reasonable response. I would be satisfied with credit for next season in lieu of refund if there were no tryouts. I understand others might be in different situation and need the return of money. Would be surprising if clubs forgo the tryouts.

The recent trend in MD is to move tryouts closer and closer to the end of the season with the clubs leap frogging each other. If facilities are not open for large gatherings in late July or early August, there likely won't be tryouts.

Slept with your wife is a good one. Sounds like a business owner with brick and mortar store fronts and limited business this year may scrabbling for money. Little man is in trouble. Charging 100 dollar late fees is not going to cut it

Although summer activities may be limited, that said I'm planning on spending most of the summer away from the Island. Likewise, if summer lax does open up, the planes I already made will not be interrupted by youth travel lax.

Good luck getting the money back. The tourney orgs are not giving money back -they will come up with reasons that fees need to be paid. CR and NGLL trying to replace 10 week season with 3 day Labor Day tourney. Maybe some credits for next season but doubtful. Some clubs will jave tryouts -they had fall ball and know the weak players.

There will not be any summer tournaments. They have to give something back. Not a lot, but something.

Not a lot???? How about the whole thing! My son is a rising senior, No Refund=Lawsuit! Sorry if some of you sheep are too scared to ask! What you still don't get is that good kids play and will always be valued!

Here is an idea.
Clubs, with teams that can compete at all age levels, set up 1-day playdays. Each team plays 3 to 4 games in one day. '26-'24 on Sat '23-'21 on Sunday. Ask only 1 parent per kid. The games could be played at private high schools with multiple fields.
90% of the players will show up. Just to get out of the house.

Why do you feel you should get a full refund?
Did your son's team not have any Fall practices/Recruiting Events?
Was there any activity for Winter?
Was any gear/uniforms purchased and handed out?

I think if a summer season doesn't happen, a partial refund for rising seniors should be acceptable -- assuming clubs received refunds on cancelled events
For all younger ages, "refund" is applied to next season's tuition and no tryouts this year

that scenario assumes all kids will go back to the same team which probably isn't realistic so partial refund has to be in the discussion. its shocking how quiet the clubs have been, which will be the first one to do the right thing and come forward with a smart compromise that makes parents and kids stay with the program?

If summer lacrosse is cancelled.

It is the clubs responsibility to get refunds for their tournament fees.
The clubs are responsible for the refunds to their consumers.
The tournaments are run by the express and 91s of the lacrosse world. Are they not going to issue themselves a refund ? I think not.

The club owner that is on here saying that they played in a fall practice and a recruiting tournament, which is probably ala cart, is reaching. Don't think that the tournament refund excuse is going to buy time and alleviate the clubs from their financial obligation to their consumers.

If they do not issue full refunds, they will get taken to court where they will lose. And they will lose every case.

Clubs are quiet because nobody knows what will happen June, July, maybe August. This never happened before. I never heard of the term social distancing before. I’m sure when the dust settles in the next few weeks, their will be some sort of direction, credits, refunds etc. Until then, we need to sit tight, stay safe and wait.

Keep saying clubs getting refunds from tournament's ?? How much is a tournament per team $900 to $1300 ? Thats Nothing from a team with 23 plus kids . Clubs Run tournaments and I highly doubt all tournaments are paid in full already .

You're whats wrong with the world on so many levels. My kid had 8 Fall practices and played in 2 tournaments. Why should I get a full refund? Maybe they roll it over but to go to court over this? You're a sad little man. 5'2" and a puffy chest on a lacrosse board. #littleguy

Wonder what club you are running into the ground. I should have left out fall practices and tournaments. Full summer refunds will be warranted.

I don't think the majority is concerned with a FULL refund, partial yes. Schedules, including practices and tournaments uniform hand-outs were provided. Once everything was shut down, people are entitled to a refund of ALL services they didn't receive, but paid for after the shut down. What's the issue?

Governor Cuomo announced school is done for the academic year.

He also is saying that all summer activity must have social distancing! You can’t play lax with social distancing.

Summer season must he over.

Terrible news......

Not only that, where would practices, tournaments be held? That said, it'll be a long time before anyone returns to the field. Secondly, clubs need to address the refund issue before it get any further out of hand.

We received an in depth email from my son's club stating that refunds will be provided. This is the most honest of the clubs I have seen since being in the club scene for 10 years. This is defining the reason why I moved my son to this club a few years ago. Good people come through in tough times. Bad people always remain bad.

I don't doubt the email, but do yourself a favor and call the school. The word "rescheduled" only translates to the date was changed to August. Means nothing.

Doesn't mean they are on. Just pushing them back hoping not to cancel. Still and probably will be cancelled.

There is a handful of groups that run lax tourneys on along island. They should all connect and put out a schedule for July and August, so they are over lapping. And then hope things can return.

Many universities are now being sued. Some students will not return, refuse to pay full tuition for on-line learning. Others are suing for PARTIAL REFUNDS; claiming, since the pandemic, they are entitle to money back because they didn't receive the FULL experience of the university through on-line classes although full tuition was made. On a smaller scale, does this sound familiar? I didn't sign my son up for up for Virtual lacrosse.

The part that makes me angry is that they think we are stunads and telling us that its gonna be starting soon ? I am turning on the news and thousands of people are still dying from covid-19, so HOW are then going to put kids on the field and thousands of parents on the sidelines during a big tournament? Its is very sad and disheartening that people would be so greedy !

Elderly and health risks stay home. Can't keep everyone else at home for two years until vaccines can be produced in large scale.

The point is, some parents have allowed clubs/coaches to treat them and their kids like dirt for all these years and they continue to do it, look at whats going on at the moment. I don't begrudge anyone how and why they choose to spend their own money towards their family. I sit back and observe many parents on "all fours" while talking to coaches and owners. Hey, they do what needs to be done, but don't come complaining when you had enough.

Friend of mine really struggling times like this. Laid off now , trying to work side jobs doing laboring work to make ends meet. Paid his tuition in full in the fall . Nothing from his club at all . Total example he paid in full and did the right thing for them but his club team Doing total opposite. Feel for him .

Clubs have to be talking to each other about giving a refund or not. Now all these directors Need each other because they need to figure out what to do or what not to do , I could almost guarantee that. Whats the Chances ZERO info from any of them ? I hope people really start waking up to these clubs . Not even no chatter on the Team Snap about it . June is a week or so away where Tournaments really kick in .

If you have a kid that plays soccer you will see that SUSA is getting bashed for only offering around a 10% credit to returning players at the end of next years tuition. Their tuition is approx $2500-$3500+ depending on what age, league etc. It seems to me that ALL Lacrosse teams are just as big scumbags as SUSA. Lacrosse players have probably only played 2 tournaments(1 day each) and had much less training time. Has anybody heard of any Lacrosse team offering refunds, substantial credits, anything. Looks to me like LAX are the bigger robbers than soccer which I didn't believe was possible. All I have seen from my sons club is possible credit for next year without the amount. Could be a $50 credit, who knows.

Rebels strike first With email

Hope everyone is doing well, and is safe. We are reaching out to give you guys an update on the upcoming season.

There is a lot of uncertainty with fields, tournaments, governement regulations, etc.

With all of this in mind, we have decided to extend the season until the end of Summer 2021. There will be no tryouts, or tryout fee as usual. There will only be a supplemental tryout to fill any available spots in the fall. The details of what we will be able to attend, practice, scrimmage, train this summer will effect the overall credit that each family will receive. This is a very fluid situation, and once we all have a better understanding of a return date, this will be finalized. Once we are able to see the total value that each family paid for, versus what they received we will make this decision. We will work to avoid any unneccesary costs going forward through the end of 2021, and will break any future payments up into 10 Monthly Installments with the understanding this virus has had an economic impact on many.

Tournaments are changing their dates on a daily basis, as regulations come in and change. Please currently ignore any scheduled changes, or information until there is a blanket update provided by us on tournament schedule.

We have the safety of our players and their families in mind as we make these decisions, and will phase our re-opening with appropriate measures. This will include actions such as practices, trainings, filmed scrimmages for recruiting ages, and mid-week round robin/tournament play until bigger events are allowed.

Specifically for the 2021 age group, we are working with tournament directors and there will be 2021 brackets this fall and possibly next summer for recruiting purposes if the summer season is shortened.

I think that's a pretty good start. This in unprecedented. Those looking to say sue right away is not going to work, Teams had fall ball, most winter. they all have insurance costs and coaching fees that might of been paid. Probably also paid for most summer tournaments and are they refunding or crediting
I am sure most clubs will work out fair deals, if they do not, then maybe go to small claims and do not return to them.

God Bless America and all those that gave the ultimate sacrifice. Memorial day is a special Holiday,Think about that some

If a kid stays with an organization, parents most likely be ok with a fair credit. Makes sense to me. If my son decided to leave teams or not play lacrosse, obviously a credit is useless. My son is happy, which therefore make me happy. We practiced 5 months, we lost 5 months. If we got a 50 percent 2021 credit, I’d be happy. Listen, I’m not going line by line, we paid extra for this or that. We didn’t get our tote bag which was promised, we didn’t get our hats, we had a January indoor practice cancelled etc. That’s not me. I’m not going to nickel and dime every situation. Is there a perfect science to this, I’d say no. This is a once in a lifetime situation.

I'd like to see more clubs promote their refund policy anonymously on here.
91, Igloo, and Express will be the last to refund anything.

Do your clubs keep sending updated schedules? I am in MD and as of now, no refund (there has been talk of refund if no lacrosse is played). We do however still have a 4 tournament schedule as of now. 1st of which is just 7 weeks out and they would still need to practice. I have a hard time believing that we'll be at tournaments at the same time that the PLL will be playing while taking mandatory tests and under quarantine.

MD parents are out three years of tuition now. Not only are they getting scammed from COVID-19, they had to pay two extra years for HOLDBACK-20!
