The 2020 US Lacrosse Girls’ Youth and National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Girls’ High School rules webinars are now available for free viewing on the US Lacrosse website. The webinars were recently hosted by US Lacrosse and intended to provide clarification about the new rule changes and points of emphasis for the 2020 season.

Both webinars can be accessed online at uslacrosse.org/rules/girls-rules.

The allowance for free movement by players on a whistle or stoppage of play is among the changes for 2020. The primary intent of the rule change is to improve the pace of play and allow for a less restrictive experience for the athletes.

These rules webinars provide a thorough explanation of the major rule changes for the upcoming season,” said Caitlin Kelley, women’s lacrosse director at US Lacrosse. “Presented by members of the rules committee, they are great way to get started on the new rules for 2020.”

The next rules session will be at the US Lacrosse Convention (LaxCon) set for January 10-12 in Philadelphia, with additional presentations on the high school and youth rules. The LaxCon sessions will feature a review of the rules changes and points of emphasis and provide coaches and officials with opportunities to ask specific questions related to the rule changes.
