One goal win during the fall. Dads did pretty good going against the professional (best player in the world). Lol

Facts: Both coaches very good and have a ton of wins with their 2022 teams for years and both in top 5 teams for years-With both winning against each other in championships and fall ball- even having team workouts together- 91 coach has not coached teams at higher levels - high school assistant - all world player he definitely was- made a career from teaching young kids yes and in my book one of the best to play - Hawks have arguably the best all around college and world lacrosse player ever on the sidelines and also have one of the best college and professional coach on the staff- a modern coach who just won another MLL championship-
Not sure the older these boys get they will find better coaching on either team - not even high school coaches- FACT

So there's an abundance of coaching and player talent and yet they lose more tournaments than they win. What am I missing?

You obviously haven’t seen the Hawks coaching staff. Just say you are hating on the head coach and move on. Also pretty sure the 91 coach has his son on the team. 😱

I didnt realize that modern higher level coaching meant revolve the offense around your son. Interesting concept of today's modern lacrosse offense.

If your son has both hands, can carry, has great vision, yes. If your son is a time and room shooter or an off ball slasher, then no. Running an offense through an X attackman should have nothing to do with familial relations only skill and aptitude.

What are you missing? Who has won more in Maryland than the Hawks- who has been in more playoff- championships than Hawks ? Would it make you u feel better if they won everything all the time? They certainly do a lot more winning than losing- 2-3 losses a year before high school started- when they played 50-60 games a year and searched out the best of the best including 91 Md whom also wins more than they lose-
The bitterness and soreness is comical -

The 91 had coach is well known and most agree that he is a headcase but lets keep it clean.

It will be interesting watching coach in next few years. Like all of us besides a few MIAA coaches, once Varsity comes into play, the cards are dealt as they fall.

No they are not. They won't be very competitive this year, but they are not moving. They have a solid group of 23's to build around.

Everyone should move down to B except Calvert Hall. They win another Championship this year as easy as they did last year. And many of their top players will be in HS next few years. The CH boys team is trying their best to do an imitation of McDonough's girls team.

Agree that is prohibitive favorite going into spring, but LB, SP, BL, McD, SM Gilman all have exceptional senior classes. That year is crazy good which will make for an exciting spring. After this year the talent gap lessens between Ch and a few other programs. But that can change on a dime since all of them are now going after out of state studs. Because you know we don't have enough talent here in bmore

It's hard for SP to be any good when they only pull kids from Rock and Koopers. They need to start getting kids from the top clubs.

They money came from the University of MD hospital, went into the Kelly's pockets, then went to Calvert Hall. Not so hard to follow.

Poor kids had no where else to go. Just happened to be great players. Purely a coincidence.

Same model Biff is using down on Chase St.

OUCH ! While who knows if that is true or not, all the MIAA schools have people with money. It is a matter of how much they want to spend on lacrosse.Everyone knows what CH has been doing lately, Not much of a secret with their out of state players. According to some, McD is stepping up to the plate and spending to get out of state talent. Where did this McD MD committ come from, Not Baltimore, FO from FL, Middie from OR, Maybe a race to get the best soon from others.

You have it backwards. The kids who go to SP can’t make other clubs. It’s not that they draw from R and K. Slightly difference.

Is the middie at SP (from NC) living with the head coach? Only way Sp can ever compete is by bringing out of state kids in. When your feeder system is rock, Koopers and breakers you are in trouble.

Here's my assessment of the MIAA A Conference based on last weekend's NHSLS:

CHC: Clearly the favorite: super strong team D. Big, fast, good and well coached. Good keeper. Rode like a bunch of crazed hyenas. Offensively not as explosive as last year but give them time: its early and they have the horses. This will be the team the beat. Not sure they go undefeated but it will take a Herculean effort to knock them out. Top to bottom, the best coaching staff in the Conference.
MCD: Super at the FO X and strong across the board. O looked much improved with more players participating and contributing. D back and a year older and bigger. Two newcomers in the cage who both looked strong.
Gilman: Strong senior class. Very talented in all aspects. Offense needs some work but the O always takes time. Confident this new coaching staff will change the Program's culture and get results.
Loyola: Good showing and a solid team but not sure they will finish in the standings: Could be anywhere from 2-6. They have arguably the best keeper in the Conference back so they will be in every game come the Spring.
Spalding: Most improved squad out there: the youth movement has worked out much to the chagrin of many on this Forum. Not sure, they have enough depth to finish in the top 4 but confident they will be in the playoffs. Knocking off Gonzaga, Bullis and a draw versus SJC are good signs.
St. Paul's: Looked like they were missing some kids due to injuries, but this team does not look as strong as last year's squad. Extremely well coached but I'm not sure they have impact players to make the top 6.
Boys Latin: Incomplete grade: I believe they're in that second tier chasing CHC but the fact they split into teams, (looked like no committed seniors etc and some big stars out with injuries.), it was difficult to tell where they'll finish or even how they looked?
I didn't watch MSJ or JC and Severn didn't post, but based on their scores, I don't think any of them will be in the Semis or even the top six squads.

I follow this league pretty closely and am very unbiased in my predictions. For 2020-2023 I see CH then a small step down then Spalding then a BIG step down with LB, GIL, SP, MCD, SM, GIL, and then Severn and MSJ in the back. We all know about CH but you might not all know that Spalding is loaded with elite players, coaches, and dads.

One of the perks of UMD employees is free tuition for state schools for their children... Since CHC was bought and paid for by UMD funds can my kid go there for free?

What has CH been doing?

Aside from the two boys from GA who's parents chose to relocate to MD so they could attend HS there, what out of state kids are you referring to?

The PA kids just over the border that commute in to EVERY MIAA school - that has been happening for decades?

No grade for Saint Mary’s who were runner up last year.?
Looked like many teams except CH and Spalding did not play their committed players vey much at all or at all. Kudos to BL for letting all of their underclassman and non commits play.

Having a hard time accepting your son isnt a Varsity player. I guess easier to lash out at the team than face up to his future. You could try Baseball
